  1. The sticker of Lee Joon on her head is funny

She's again joking and imitating a fangirl, this time for Lee Joon  LOLs

I think Nara-ssi could be a cute fangirl but she's already a celebrity teeeheee

She doesn't have qualms about sticking something on her head to make us smile and laugh - she's really funny

Ok, Nara-ssi....if you say so, we will also put a sticker of you on our heads

  2. The issu about Mr Back is not so much the acting but the narrative of the story - how it was told.

I couldn't relate to the characters when I take them in context of the plot on the whole but I'm very much sold on the acting and the chemistry:

I giggle with Shin Ha Kyun and Jang Nara and feel the electricity of the chemistry they create; sigh at the picture perfect aura that glows every time Lee Joon and Jang Nara are within the same camera frame.

The acting is superb from SHK and JNR : those eyes!!! Just...can you ever describe the complexity of a rainbow's beauty? That's the type of emotion so intricate that both actors can convey with their eyes. Yet to me,the emotion of the moment in a particular scene does not fit the whole - SHK and JNR acting put in the narrative of Mr Back is like putting beautiful swans on an asphalt highway.

I think why I fail to relate to CGB/CSH + HS as people is when I consider the plot, the characterization. Color me biased but I will have to use FTLY because I'm lazy to retrieve another JNR drama at the moment I'm writing this, but the narrative of said recently drama made Miyoung and Geon, even Sec Tak, Omma and Halmoni so relatable to me - they feel so real like they can be friends that I actually care for and even imagine their life and interactions "outside the camera" we could see.

Now it may be the concept of course - FTLY is not fantasy and Mr Back has a 70 year old man becoming young again.

Ultimately, it's just the Jang Nara fangirl in me who doesn't like uri Nara-ssi be not the center of the universe in this story. Yes, I think that's why I'm like this now....mianhae chingu-duri...

Nara-ssi, please be back with another drama in which your character is written as beautifully as you can act :) Fighting!!!!!!!!

  3. Nara-ssi !!!!! You're super daebak!!!

I'm excited for 2015 for you!! Please have another major major drama - one in which you're the main character and with the main story arc :x

The Chinese dramas she had are rather interesting. I wish in Korea she would get cast into a good role she hasn't done yet so we can enjoy her talents to the fullest.

Fighting Nara-ssi!!! Fighting Mr. Back !!! (even though I hardly watch it now)

    We love you Nara-ssi!!!!

  4. Uri Nara-ssi seems very easy to startle hehehehe

But her reaction is soooooo cuuuuute maybe people are deliberately surprising her just to see her pretty "natural aegyo" - her aegyo is unlike some female k-celebrities who seem to have mastered the art of "contrived aegyo".

Although, I'm sad because it may be due to the hardship she's had (the anxiety attacks because of showbiz life) that she's very easy to startle like that. :(

    Nara-ssi, fighting!!!!!! :x :x :x :x

  5. Another funny scene that didn't make it to the on-air version of Episode 5.
After Miyoung and Geon's confrontation over the divorce agreement and Miyoung declares she will not give up the baby.Grandma Wang comes in looking for the newlyweds...

In the mancave, Geon and Miyoung hear Grandma calling for them...

Miyoung and Geon scramble to get out and meet Grandma Wang.
They're both somewhat out of breath because of the surprise and fear of getting caught with the divorce agreement. And this is the state which Grandma sees them. She at first assumes a different reason for the breathlessness kekekekekeke (I think we know who Geon got his pervyness from hahahaha)Screen Shot 2014 12 06 at 5 25 09 pm

    and then ...

Miyoung moves to the closet saying she'll change to sleep wear to break the awkwardness but Grandma just goes on....

    Screen Shot 2014 12 06 at 5 26 02 pm

I don't understand the idiomatic expression used here but Miyoung's "dohhh" face just cracks me up -- it's the same "doohhhh"  face she put on when she first saw the identical portraits of the Lee family ancestors, Dr. Octopus' telling amnesiac Geon she was his secretary and whenever Geon gets too neurotic...hahahha LOLsScreen Shot 2014 12 06 at 5 28 14 pm

"You guys are too fast!" - hahahahahah Grandma's dictionary:mancave: noun. where sexy time takes place. specially necessary when bedroom does not seem to have a lock. LOLsScreen Shot 2014 12 06 at 5 26 38 pm

    Screen Shot 2014 12 06 at 5 26 46 pm
Yes, dear Geonnie-ssi...right now you're denying it fiercely but I think at some point, you've already looked back to this moment and regretted that you instead of pushing that divorce agreement to Miyoung, you should've just pulled her close to you and did that horizontal mambo in that mancave....LOLs..

  6. Look at her Indian sit in this scene :xUri Nara-ssi can really be boyish at times. Actually, it's her carefree way of carrying herself that's very endearing.
Jang Nara and Choi Jin Hyuk Meet in Church in New ′Fated to Love You′ Stills
Unlike other actresses who would rather be dead than caught in less than perfect posture, JNR is very relaxed.
Continue to keep it real, Nara-ssi! We love you for who you are!!

  7. JNR should be nominated for FTLY. Even she herself and JH said that KMY was a special character: she was someone who went through all those stages in her life - it was like HJW in Empress Ki but compressed in a shorter range of 20 episodes.

Naive girl who only wanted to experience love then...

    Unexpectedly became a mother...

    A wife...

All the while, she was experiencing her "first love"...

Lost her baby in a tragic accident...lost her family essentially as she parted with LG...

    Became a successful artist...

It was like watching a butterfly develop.

The caterpillar, pupae, butterfly may be different yet they are one and the same creature.

Just how perfectly JNR portrayed KMY and her Ellie Kim layer.

Why I like KMY better than CXY is because her core never changed as Ellie Kim. Elaine for me became an all too different person...

Props to JNR for making KMY/Ellie Kim as complex and believable as a true person: she should def. win an award for acting!

  8. @lingx2 I so agree with you that scenes deleted had a somewhat negative impact on the story flow we ultimately saw on air. Little details that bring more dimension to the Gun-Miyoung love story arc for ex. the end of episode 8 when Gun saves Miyoung from Mr. Min Garbage-lawyer and he brings up Miyoung not being good in math or in school in front of everyone else.
There may be some who thought Gun was still a tad bit callous in exposing Miyoung that way  but if the deleted scene in Epi 7 wherein:

Gun and Miyoung walk out from the hospital after Mija gave birth, Miyoung commented that Gun was really like a real doctor.

And Gun tells her that he purposefully made an effort to learn the most he could to prove that he wasn't a total slack off as a father. No way would he let that comment slide from the Ms. Park Chest Massage prenatal class teacher ;)
The he jokes lightheartedly at Miyoung about her not being good at school. And Miyoung takes the joke lightly and says why he has to always bring that up. They are touching each other - my take is that it's a scene of flirting between our young lovers :x hehehehe
So this was an internal joke between husband and wife. In Ep 8 Gun spilling that out during the event, he was no doubt seeing only Miyoung in front of him. He brought up that detail about Miyoung along with the recollection of their sweet little moment after going to the hospital in Ep 7.
For me the deleted scene in Ep 7 dispells all notion of Gun being callous or Miyoung's tears ever had a hint of embarassment in them.

  9. I haven't watched all 20 episodes but there are other deleted scenes in the other earlier episodes as well. It seems they are scattered all over. Something we have to discover one by one.

Miyoung also craved for strawberries and Gunnie drove all over town to get her some - strawberries in the thick of summer!

details like this...no wonder Miyoung looked back while crossing that street to call Gun in Ep 12...

no wonder she could ask Gun to forget everythihg and just start all over too.

The confrontation / quarrel they had when Miyoung finally visited the site of Gaetong's demise was in fact, not just her being hurt by Gun's rejection of Gaetong but it also contains a questioning - how he actually did what he did when she saw his sincerity towards being a father to their unborn child. It's something unbelievable to her.

that being responsible for encouraging affinity from another person - Gun's closeness to omma and also being friends with Sera still - also means honesty : tell them what you really feel inside - tell them the truth!!! no hiding!!

  10. Oh my Daebak FTLY DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. The video quality is like a movie!

After the "Fireworks Kiss" a.k.a Moment When Gun's Heart Becomes Miyoung's Possession Forever, Episode 9 beginning, the on-air version stops with Miyoung watching Gun sleep saying "Can I be greedy over you?" and then cuts to the goodbye-see-Gun-to-work-kiss at the gate has a very cute scene in between!!!

It's that scene wherein Miyoung washes Gun's hair etc.
Gun wakes up in the morning with his "pervy hand" trying to reach Miyoung who he knows should beside him in bed. But Miyoung is already awake. Gun1
    Gun2
    findingmiyoung

When Miyoung asks if he slept well, Gun replies: "No....."pervy gun
    Chinguduri: PERVY GUN!!!!
Gun then feigns that his right arm has fallen asleep with cramps so he couldn't do anything by himself. Miyoung happily obliges by washing him and everything like a baby.
Miyoung blows on his ear while cleaning it - she did it without a clue:MYblowsinhisears

    And what does Gun say:gunturnedon
Chinguduri: Gun is turned on!! Ahahahahaha This is really the start of his other disease - the more serious one that was the real reason why he fainted at the end of Episode 11: Blue Balls.
During the hair-drying scene, Gun hugs Miyoung with his face close to her tummy's side. He then proceeds to tell Gaetong to take care of mom because men should make a woman happy. And Miyoung counters with a smile - what if Gaetong is a girl? And Gun changes his tone to a "daughter-enamored daddy tone", something like "Our doggypoo girl..." Gaetong-nyangdoggypoo
Gun asks Gaetong to protect mommy Miyoung - thinking that Gaetong is a boy. He drops a hint also : "When you are born, and I'm not around anymore...."
It was Miyoung who thought of Gaetong as a girl that's why the Gaetongie painting "Le Soupir" is a picture of a baby girl.MYgaetonggirl

    gaetongnyang
To Gaetong-nyang "I'll protect you so don't worry at all"
The reason why Gun goes over to Dr. Octopus saying that he has to live long - at least 20 years more - is pushed by the thought that Gaetong may be a girl.

  11. oooh...reminds me of a Reese Witherspoon + Mark Ruffalo movie: "Just Like Heaven"

That Hollywood movie was. rom-com but Old Goodbye gives off a heavier drama vibe but the plot is kinda similar:

Guy moves in an appartment where there's a "ghost" of a girl claiming it's her home and he should move out. They then find out girl's been in comatose all this time. But they live happily ever after.

    Involves a house/home

I hope ChaeHee is only in a comatose - not a makjang terminal disease of some sort...

    :)

Guys, CH didn't die yet...! Don't assume she's dead! I got concerned and checked again if I mistranslated something and wrote she died....lol.

Anyways here's the updated version of "Old Goodbye" plot:

SooHyuk is a used-to-be boxer who's living his life recklessly after divorcing with his wife ChaeHee 3 years ago. One day, he receives a phone call saying CheHee is inheriting him a house. He visits their house from newly-wed days, and is shocked to find out that ChaeHee suffered serious disease after divorce and is currently unconscious, and the inheritance will be completed once she's dead. SooHyuk was exploring the house when he finds a polaroid camera ChaeHee used to love, and presses the shutter...and magically time slips into his wife ChaeHee's past. His time travel to save ChaeHee begins!
