  1. There's an article about Alibaba pictures investing in Real in Deadline ( film/tv industry trade website in the U.S)

    http://deadline.com/2015/10/alibaba-pictures-real-korean-film-investment-kim-soo-hyun-1201576486/

    Quotes from the article:

Alibaba recently investedi n Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. That film ended its run with about $136M in China after having set a recored as the highest grossing 2D Hollywood movie ever.

The investment in Real, to be directed by Lee Jung-Sub, reflects Alibaba's ambition to become a global player. The agreement will give the Chinese company sole distribution rights for the movie in the Middle Kingdom and see it leverage the resources of parent Alibaba Group to support marketing, including advertising placement, brand licensing and e-commerce development.

Shooting is expected to begin by the end of this year on the pic that stars Kim Soo Hyun as an ambitious and ruthless scavenger hungry to establish his empire of casinos and hotels.

Kim is a star in Korea and is also popular in China with roles in such feature hits as Miss Granny, Secretly Greatly and Thieves. He's also known for the TV series Dream High and My Love From the Star.

Ahang Qiang, CEO of Alibaba Pictures says "We're investing in Real because the Korean film industry is arguably the most influential creatively in the region at present and the hugely popular Kim Soo-Hyn is the embodiment of that. We aim to support regional movie making in Asis, as well as bigger Hollywood movies."

  2. Kim Soo Hyun in People Magazine:

    http://www.people.com/article/kim-soo-hyun-four-things-to-know

He's a household name in his home country of Korea, and this weekend actor Kim Soo Hyun will be invading Los Angeles – along with many of Korea's hottest and brightest entertainers – at KCON, an annual fan convention where everything from food to film to fashion can be experienced all in one place.

"I haven't had many chances to meet American fans in person," says the star, 27. "I'm so happy and excited to see them at KCON 2015. I want to make unforgettable memories with them!" Here are four things to know about the star.

    1. He's a fixture in Asia's biggest movies and TV dramas now, but he was actually a pretty shy kid.

The star, who was born in Seoul, fell into acting at a young age "because I was an introvert," he says. "My mom recommended acting [classes] to me. Acting in a play, I felt like I became a different person." Even as a child, hearing applause from an audience made him "ecstatic," he adds. "I knew I wanted to be an actor [then

    2. When he's not acting or singing, he likes to stay active.

On a rare day off, "I usually play sports like bowling and badminton with my friends," says the actor. "Having a relaxing time with my favorite people is the best day off." And though he has no problem landing coveted roles, he still finds time to hone his craft. "To be honest, I still have a lot to learn as an actor," he says. "I feel excited when I'm acting and want to go far as an actor."

    3. His dream American co-star is Gwyneth Paltrow.

"I've wanted to work with Gwyneth Paltrow for a long time," he says. "She is very talented and attractive!" He's also a Quentin Tarantino fan and was "hugely impressed" by Christoph Waltz in Django Unchained. Waltz's portrayal of Dr. King Schultz was layered and complicated, but "[he made it seem as easy as] humming a melody the entire movie," says the star. "After I saw the movie, I've wanted to act like him."

    4. He was once the face of 17 products at the same time.

The star's popularity skyrocketed in 2012 after he starred in the period drama Moon Embracing the Sun as King Lee Hwon. Olympic figure skater Kim Yuna previously held the record for product endorsements, but the actor knocked her out of the spot when he became a spokesperson for various products ranging from restaurants to beer to technology.

  4. Hi. Thanks to everyone that posted links and photos from the Caffee Bene event!

So glad that KSH has picked his next drama!! I'm happy that it's by the writer from his last project. Well that is as long as there's no evil rich guy killing people just because. LOL.

I like the twelve episode format. A lot of cable shows in the USA are 10 to 13 episode. It eliminates a lot of filler and there's more character development for the main characters. Here's hoping for a fun drama with interesting characters
    :x
  5. It's nice to have a potential KSH drama to discuss. The Producers sounds interesting because it's a comedy/drama set in the workplace. Hopefully, KSH character won't be the straight man to the "fun" character like he was in My Love From the Stars. In real life he's so adorkable. I so want him to play a fun character.
We will know very soon whether he accepts the role. The drama begins filming next week according to this article:
     http://koalasplayground.com/2015/03/02/gong-hyo-jin-likely-joining-cha-tae-hyun-kim-soo-hyun-and-iu-in-producer/

I've only seen IU act in Dream High and she was adorable. I don't know how her acting has progressed since then but I'm very open to seeing KSH acting with her again  B-)

  6. @kshjjh I couldn't agree more. KSH never wears sunglasses at the airport and he has never run from fans. It reminded me of a recent interview where KSH talked about biking by the river without wearing a mask. He felt free. This made me so sad for him.
IMO fans need to distinguish between celebrities professional and personal activities. Their privacy should be respected when they are on their own time.
I am happy KSH vacationed in the states. He could be KSH the man and not the "celebrity".

  7. Wow, he had a busy week. Lots of wonderful pictures and videos from the CF fan meets in this thread. You guys are so great at keeping us updated.
A huge thanks to pechumori for posting that Secretly, Greatly is now airing on drama fever. I've wanted to see this movie but couldn't find it online. I really liked it!
Each role KSH picks is so different from his previous roles. So looking forward to his next project is. My hunch is it will be "Kill me Heal Me". I think KSH would love the challenge of acting multiple personalities.

  8. Finally caught up with the last couple of weeks post on this forum. Thanks to everyone for posting the amazing pictures and information!
KSH looks so yummy at the Seoul Award. Ditto for the latest Ziozia and Beanpole ads.
Nice to know that KSH many endorsements seem to be paying off for his sponsors. This information about Semir is from stars88jo:

Jun 26, Semir launched a high quality shirt and was on sale at Semir Tmall, inviting Kim Soo Hyun as their endorser. This category shirt named “Male god shirt” was on sale for RMB 149 on June 26 and sold over 10,000 pieces on that day. They will launched more of these men’s shirt in the future.

Hopefully soon they'll be news about Kim Soo Hyun's next project!

  9. Hi. I've been lurking here for about a month and finally decided to post :-).
I discovered KSH after reading an article in Entertainment Weekly magazine (USA) about Korean dramas. I decided to watch My Love From the Stars. I totally fell for the drama and binged watched it over a couple of days. Then I had to find out more about KSH. So I watched "Dream High" and once again fell in love with the drama and KSH :-).

Congrats on the voting. I couldn't figure out how to vote on Soompi. So I gave up. But I'm happy KSH, MLFTS and JJH won. I wish JJH had also won on Nate because she was amazing in the drama.
Thanks for posting KSH airport pictures. It's nice to see him again. Hope he is relaxing and enjoying life. I'm interested in seeing what his next project is.
I followed the link from one of the airport pictures to stars88jo_kmoon twitter. Since endorsing Tencent in April the security application KSH endorsed has increased in sales from 3.8 million to 5.0 million. Way to go KSH!! That's amazing. I also read on this forum that Tencent would place billboard in different China cities (including Beijing), if a tweet regarding KSH was retweeted a certain amount of times. It looks like this worked. LOL.
Link to cover of PC world magazine and KSH Tencent endorsement. Thanks star88jo_kmoon!
