It was only recently that I got to watch Bad Family. It was really great! Highly recommended. It is one of the best Korean series ever. I was laughing all throughout the series. Even at times when I’m all alone in the room watching it and I keep on laughing and giggling like crazy! Hahaha.

It is so refreshing to watch something like this since almost Korean TV series have such tragic themes and ending. Bad Family has just the right combination of comedy and light dramatic moments. Bad Family is an “easy-to-watch” “feel-good “ series, it’s light and entertaining. You will really enjoy the episodes, unlike some of the gloomy kind of Korean series, this one is really fun.

All actors and actresses are perfect even the child actress, Lee Young Yoo, who played the Na Rim character. The leads, Kim Myun Ming and Nam Sang Mi are so good and cute together. You wouldn’t even get to hate the other woman, Bu Kyung (played by Hyun Young) and the other guy, Tae Kyung (played by the very cute Park Jin Woo) because they are not upsetting to watch, their characters here are so charmingly funny too.

Special mention to the actor who played grandfather. It was really hilarious the way he delivered his lines in one scene – he seems to calmly take Dal Gun’s threat with such a straight face- he said’ “I’ve had smelled dirt actually and its really not that bad…It doesn’t even hurt that much.” Hahhaha… oh really ! Aigoo …trying to convince himself.

  4. TO : ALL FANS OF KIM HYUN JOO

PLEASE COMMENT and....I hope anyone can relay this message to KHJ.

It’s only recently that I watched this beautiful, very talented actress, Kim Hyun Joo. She is a very brilliant and effective actress, with a face that has a subtle yet uniquely enchanting beauty. Her lovely face grows on you each time you see her, in every expression, in every angle. She has a certain freshness, a childlike character that is very endearing. I’ve just recently watched “Marry a Millionaire,” which was shown a few years back already. I have so many favorite scenes of her. She is always able to carry herself well, with poise and classic beauty. This actress has class and an inborn dignity in how she carries herself. One favorite scene is the one wherein she got lost in the streets of Paris. She was wearing this dark-colored, simple cut pretty dress, that compliments her slender, delicate built which is so classy in its simpleness. In that scene, where she was running in the streets of Paris looking for her companions, her feminine vulnerability and inborn elegance truly shine… She has style, she has flair….and she really reminds me of the very famous actress, Hollywood icon, AUDREY HEPBURN. They both exudes this kind of simple elegance and grace. A loveliness that shines from within. It’s like being naturally beautiful, without even trying. So in whatever scene, whether she’s wearing a very ordinary dress, she still shines and stand out above the rest.

Marry a Millionaire is such a wonderful, sweet, warm story about a love that is fated and meant to be. And it has the most beautiful soundtracks ever ! The songs are really super great.

On a personal note, I’ve read in the forums about the real life romance of Kim Hyun Joo and her leading man in Glass Shoes, So Ji Sup. I’m not really sure if that is accurate because Glass Shoes is way back 2002. But I really think that they are good with each other, a really nice match, one complimenting the other. I truly hope they get together again as they are bonded by a strong friendship. KHJ is already 30 (but of course she still looks very youthful and pretty as ever). But I really hope she finds the man that is meant for her and who will value and love her forever.

KHJ is one precious, brilliant, talented actress. And Korea is so fortunate to have someone like her.

I have observed the following in Korean series:

    1. It is not really about love-triangles, but LOVE-QUARTET, wherein the lead actress is being pursued by a second lead actor and the lead actor is often pursued by a second lead actress... Always 4 characters trying to get each other's love and attention.

    2. In super sad series, almost always a main character dies, or all leading characters die in the end. If a character is sick no medical technology can ever save him/her and let her survive in the story. I just wish that the writers of these series put a little hope in the end, and for once let the good prevail over evil, let the lead characters be triumphant and be happy in the end.

    3. It seems a never-ending endorsements of mobile phones.

    4. In love stories, the guy and girl keeps on fighting in the beginning, the guy always bullying and shouting at the girl.

    5. If the lead actress character is from a poor family, there is always a debt or problem she has to face for her parents or family.

    6. There is always an older family member controlling the fate of the characters, mostly played by the grandfathers.

For the longest time i didnt want to watch MGY latest movie, Love Me Not, coz of the negative movie review on it. I think that it would make me feel sad because it is the bad chip on MGY's shoulder, a movie that can make or break her career. So It was only recently that i saw it out of curiousity, and it was actually a great movie !!! so i was just wondering why such reaction from the Korean movie public, could it be that they have such high standards when it comes to judging her again. They were so used to seeing her in sweet, comical characters that they took for granted her great acting here. Of course her character is bitter, cold, angry for heaven's sake she lost her eyesight in the movie, she was only acting her part. It may be a cold and heavy-kind-of-feeling movie but the acting are really great even that of her leading man, Kim Ju Hyuck. There's only one scene that i did not like, the part where that stupid antagonist moustached man who is always in red and had such liking to a floral red umbrella stabbed Julian. That one scene is really brutal, and it shouldnt have been like that, one stab would have been enough, why did they had to make it into too much stabbing, that scene is really negative to the sensitivities of MGY's young fans, the scene was too upsetting, i mean it didnt give the villain's character any justification. That bad man had seen everything, been following them wherever the went. so is his character such animalike that he didnt have any sympathy and compassion left in his heart. And why on earth didn't Julian defended himself, he should have brought a gun with him and blasted the bastard's brains out, remember that one scene where Min followed him to the city and was held by 2 maniacs in the dark alley, Julian was able to fight the big guy and even beat up the guy, why did he not beat the daylights out of this stupid and short moustached guy. Well I guess that one scene is the only flaw i can comment on. The entire movie is really a good one, even award winning. and the ending is bitter kinda sweet. Congratulations to MGY and Kim Ju Hyuck.
