  1. I feel SJK  is giving a masterful performance and look forward to the next twelve episodes.  So sad to see the loveable JYM die in this episode as I enjoyed the bromance he had with Vincenzo.  Taecyeon as a baddy, well let's see how he erases his cute puppy image from eps. 1-4.

  2. If WS impregnates SY, this will be his "4th child" since in real life he is expecting his 3rd child with his wife.  Hahaha!  Something about Jang Hyuk just defines "virility".
@dawnshine:   Unnie, fear not, our energetic Tiger will have his way to wake his Sleeping Beauty - Little Meow Meow up. Unnie, go figure.   Unnie, what are you thinking? He just needs to trick her saying he's hurt and in pain, she'll awake and jump up to check on him making sure he's ok.

  3. @critics:

When have men ever understood how women feel (men are from Mars, women are from Venus)?  Dr. Phil probably doesn't understand Robyn (his wife) either.

I know you have good intentions, so it would be interesting to get a male perspective from all you guys in the forum who were with us for the 51 episodes.  Women are expressive and I believe that any guy who lived through EK with us gals, is in touch with his "kdrama feminine side".  Your opinions are very valued, even now after the fact.  Kamsahamnida!

  4. I thought of an analogy for Nyangie's situation.

Many a Korean idol was born/raised in the U.S./Australia/U.K., etc. yet they are loyal to their Korean roots and even find fame in their ancestors' land.  Does this make them disloyal to their countries of origin?  Male idols are forced to decide whether to give up their citizenship in order to be loyal to the country that has made them famous (Korea), or retain their citizenships and be deemed disloyal to Korea.

Nyangie was in the midst of loyalty to a country which birthed her, but then disowned her (politically speaking) and the country which had received her, and in which she attained the impossible dream due to one man's love for her.  Putting ourselves in her shoes is not an easy task.  That it cost her, hell ya!  She lost everything, yet she could never go back to being Nyangie or Seung Nyang.  She was now Empress Ki, mother of the Yuan dynasty.

This is all drama talk :)] so please don't take anything too seriously.  No haters please, just EK, HJW, JCW, JJM lovers.   :x

  5. Can I praise JCW's death scene?  His quiet acknowledgement of Nyangie's love declaration, by simply nodding his head, makes me cry over and over again.  It does not seem she would be aware of his gesture due to their positions, but we the viewers were privy to his reaction and his last breath.  Kudos to JCW & HJW for a well enacted scene and for taking EK out on a high note.  Long live dongsaeng-noona romance!

  6. @pegster   You are amazing and after next week I hope to have the pleasure of reading your insights and live caps on another forum.  You make me feel like not knowing Korean is not such a bad thing 'cause I can rely on you.  Knowing other languages is a plus and if I had the foresight to know I'd be addicted to kdramas, I would have learned Korean (instead of other languages) while my brain was still receptive.  Thank God English is my first language and you can translate everything for me.  You will be blessed (remember that old kdrama cliché?).  You will be missed and remembered fondly.

  7. @lorac"It's written in Ju Jin Mo's drama contract. His women must get pregnant on the first night. There is this drama... although we really don't know if it was the first time, Queen of the Game first time for sure, and Bichunmoo definitely first and only time if I remember correctly."
OMG!  I can't believe this would be one of his kdrama requirements/perks!   =))   Your imagination is running wild and I'm enjoying it 'cause we're in this forum to share thoughts, have fun and help each other interpret what we don't understand 'cause we don't speak korean (at least fluently).  I comprehend the seriousness of some issues but I think we need to understand that this a drama and TH's deteriorated state due to drunkenness (because it has been ingrained in his mind that SN is not faithful and his empire is weakened) would not allow him to make sane decisions.  After all this WY nonsense (TH wanted to behead him upon his arrival in the palace but SN and ED intervened on WY's behalf) he probably needed reassurance that Nyangie was still his and alcohol made him react disdainfully.  His was not a real physical act, but a figment of the imagination of a writer who got a little "too into" TH's head and wanted to project his turmoil.  In a sane frame of mind this would have probably been handled differently and I blame Golta (someone's got to take the blame and eunuchs/maids are usually the ones that take the fall ["Kill me Paeha"]) for continually degrading SN and telling uri Paeha that he should be tougher with Nyangie, etc.  We've all seen Golta's "not so subliminal" messages the last few eps. and it's comparative to a mom telling her son/daughter "He/she's not good enough for you".  Paeha cracked under the pressure and I think this might have been the real message (he's drinking his pain away).  You're welcome to differ and that's what makes this forum interesting.  No one person is 100% right, nor 100% wrong.  It's all a matter of opinion and happenstance.
Have a nice day and we're almost at the end of this ride, so we're all invited to EK's coronation and by then we should know who's who, who Nyangie eliminated, how many lives WY has left, was Maha exiled, did BS get her one night with WY (she's earned it!), is DK still running around with that 5 yr. (by now 6 yr.) pirate patch on his eye (how unsanitary), etc., etc., etc.

  8. @pegster  You're saying SN will also be known as "Fertile Myrtle"?  OMG, I couldn't stop laughing 'cause if her 2nd pregnancy was short, the 3rd one would last only days.
    Can you imagine WY, SN & TH on Jerry Springer trying to find out who the babies' daddies are with DNA testing.  Hope you laughed and forgot your pain for a minute.   8-}

  9. @pegster  Did you feel sad when evil maid was killed?  I was sad that SN spared her life only to have EB kill her off.  What did you think of EB (Empress Bayan, not Eunuch Bang) in today's episode?  She was highlighted and I hope it's a preface to her quick demise (though I do want her and SN to fight it out for 2-3 eps.).  If DK discovers her plot to off Maha, do you think he'll kill EB?  I'd like to imagine who SN will send to the other world first - DK or the Empress?
Why are there so many "dead" people still hanging around?  I would like to see Arang & the Magistrate's grim reaper make a cameo and pick up all these "lost souls" who, according to Yuan records, ceased to exist.  It's not nice to fool mother nature, so lesson be learned:  don't play dead!   8-X

  10. This episode was kind of like "pissing against the wind"  The lagging, the deaths, the machinations, "rape?", confessions, WY still alive, TT knowingly letting BS take him away in a barrel (he's no fool our TT so why did he let it happen?).  My head is spinning and aspirin just won't take away the pain of having EK go so makjang on us.  I know/hope this is all a prelude to a wonderful ending and SN is going to be kicking some serious a_s in the remaining eps. and we will be seeing more of our Jackal as she eliminates all her enemies/detractors (at least those we don't see at the coronation scene in ep. 1  ;)) ).
Faith is what's keeping me hanging on by a string and my new mantra is "SN is strong, she will survive".
BTW, in the scene where TH goes to see SN and Ayu he refers to Goryeo quite a few times.  Could he have been telling her that Ayu will be CP in spite of his Goryeo blood?  It's about the only thing hat will get SN to forgive him about rape (if it happened 'cause he was so drunk).
