We knew that MBC‘s new drama ‘I Miss You‘ was airing some time in November and the drama has now been confirmed to air starting on November 7th.

A staff member from the drama stated, “The first airing date has been confirmed to be November 7th. mu3.jpg

Man, just seeing the first official stills from Missing You gave me a good laugh. Don’t get me wrong, the stills are gorgeous, the two young leads Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun are gorgeous, and the entire mood of the two teenage lovers frolicking in the rain and looking all moony at each other is gorgeous. But can I just point out how posed and ridiculous its coming across. If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought these were stills from an early 2000 Hallyu drama. In fact, Love Rain did this because PD Yoon Seok Ho was purposely trying to film LR like it was a throwback melodrama. And we all know how well that was received, with dreadful ratings and general disdain from a big chunk of the viewing audience. I was hoping MR would eschew the general propensity to frame first love dramas like the first loves are groundbreaking and heartrending experiences, when we all know that most teenagers have the attention span of happy squirrels and relationships tend to have a shelf life that ends at graduation and rarely anyone is still pining away after that when college provides an even bigger pond to fish in.

Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy watching first love stories as dramas partially because it is so romantically unrealistic. I just wish the presentation could be less heavy handed sometimes. Helming MY will be PD Lee Jae Dong, whose last drama I watched was the lovely Thank You. His cinematography was lush and evocative, but he was working with a Lee Kyung Hee penned drama that was very emotionally heavy but written in a dispassionate way. Hence his directing paired marvelously with the script, but might have felt too plodding if the story was mired in excessive overwrought emotions. Writing MY is Moon Hee Jung, whose Can You Hear My Heart and Smile, You were dramas where I liked overall more than I liked her writing. I think I’ll have to remain hopeful with a dash of tempered expectations when it comes to MY. The kids section will last four episodes, which is quite long until I realized MY is slated to be a 24-episode drama. That’s a lot of melo and drama coming at me. I wonder why this drama isn’t a weekend project because it just comes off as more suitable for the weekend time slot. Oh well, I’ll keep on chugging along with the MY tidbits and share my thoughts along the way.

Her eyes or her lips, her lips. This was a game she played with the fans. whcever table got the most correct answers would have her photographed wth them. our table got 80pts. but another table got 110. Eune got into the middle seat by stepping on the seats. Took short clips but will only be able to share when i go back. Clips are with dimmed lights, though.

  8. YOON EUN HYE’S A CHIC & PLAYFUL BUNNY

Yoon Eun Hye‘s management company The House Company has been updated again with new background photos of the actress donning black bunny ears to go with her cute toothy grin. However, even as a playful bunny, she looks chic and graceful in a white blouse and pom-pom pencil skirt.

    yoonface.jpg

I suppose I could have titled this post with the confirmed news, which is that Mickey Yoochun has signed on as the lead for the upcoming MBC drama I Miss You. Sadly his involvement does not get me excited in any drama in the least. This drama is scheduled to air after Arang and the Magistrate which means it really needs to get a move on with finalizing the entire cast. What piqued my interest in this drama initially was rumors that Chun Jung Myung has been approached to play the other male lead, which just sent me into howls of noooooooo. PIE is way too seasoned an actor to be playing second fiddle to anyone, much less Yoochun. Now it appears that his involvement is looking less and less likely. So I wiped away my sweat of relief only to hear the news that Yoon Eun Hye is reported deep in talks to play the leading lady. What? Once again, nooooooooo, this pairing does nothing for me. I’ve now watched Yoochun in four consecutive dramas and still the guy goes not click with me. He’s by far the best acting one out of the DBSK boys, and his real life cuteness cannot be denied. But as a leading man he leaves me feeling this odd emptiness, like he can be replaced by a cardboard facsimile of himself and I wouldn’t feel the difference. Stranger things have happened, and it wasn’t until my 3rd Lee Seung Gi drama that I fell head over heels in love with my boy. Perhaps this pairing of my beloved Eun Hye with Yoochun will flip the switch for me on him.

    chunface.jpg

So far only Yoochun and the two kids playing the child counterparts of the OTP have been confirmed. That would be Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun, reuniting them from as the alterna-OTP in the child cast of The Moon that Embraces the Sun. Based on the synopsis I read, I Miss You sounds straight out of the early Hallyu vault. It’s about first loves that are torn apart for whatever reason and many years later when they are adults they try to find their way back to each other. Yoochun’s character grows up to be a cop and he’s described as playful off the job but a determined crime fighter on the job. There is no description yet on the female lead. I know I ought to be happy about the possibility of Eun Hye coming back to the small screen, but I can’t lie about being ambivalent about this. I mostly wish she would pick a different genre and have another co-star. But knowing my luck, this drama might turn out to be all sorts of awesome and I’ll fall madly in love with it. I Miss You will air this November on Wed-Thurs.

    gorge1-1.jpg

This post is really intended for folks who (1) loved Lie to Me (and likely watched alongside me during what was the craziest days ever here at the Playground) and/or (2) are HwanHye shippers. Chingus, I am here to announced that, courtesy of @HallyuYoonEunHye and the never before seen BTS videos of the filming of LTM, we can all relive the magical heady chemistry of Kang Ji Hwan andYoon Eun Hye‘s first onscreen coupling. I watched the newest BTS videos below and immediately burst in shrieks of happiness, instantly transporting myself back to June 2011 when I was knee deep in LTM mania. For a drama with a story as silly as this one, I was nevertheless happily swept up into the tidal wave of romantic discovery between the two leads.

Looking back, I wish this was some weird Lars Von Trier deconstructed drama where the entire story consisted of the two leads without any side characters. That would leave the audience looking for an overarching substantive plot to not feel cheated of one, and allow those who loved it to feast on the very thing that sucked us in – the undeniable attraction between Hyun Ki Joon and Gong Ah Jung. Neither Ji Hwan nor Eun Hye have done another drama since LTM wrapped last year, and they are amazing actors who have great chemistry with almost all of their co-stars so I’m looking forward to their next small screen project. In the meantime, the drama gods must have pitied my poor shippy heart and given me (however late) more evidence that my amazing OTP really were more than just falling for each other onscreen. Better late than never, and I’m always game for more HwanHye goodness in any form.

    All videos courtesy of @HallyuYoonEunHye.

Saying goodbye after completion of filming:

I…..I…..I just can’t even. A person must be blind not to clearly see that there is something more going on. When Eun Hye is filming, Ji Hwan just sits there and watches her. When they hugged, it was a chest-to-chest embrace as opposed to the professional hugs where there is some minute distance between the torsos. They even did the swinging hand holding and slow hand release! Like their characters did in episode 13!!! I swear when I watched that part of me was screaming “they totally ad-libbed the gestures that went into that reluctant parting at the airport”, and lo and behold, I feel validated. Everything about them scream together. Sigh, still so happy. If you watch the latter part of this video, where they are saying goodbye outside the airport, it’s even more telling the way she runs to him, how he almost grabs her hand before they appear to realize they are being filmed and Eun Hye darts forward to hug someone else, and the myriad back pats and more back pats between them.

BTS of the hug scene in episode 12:

Still one of the best hugs I’ve ever seen onscreen between a couple. Even watching the BTS brings back all the fond memories. *wipes away tears*

    reh3.jpg

Yoon Eun Hye has had a busy Summer of activities despite not currently working on any acting projects. Most recently she attended the 15th Anniversary Pop Up Boutique media event for clothing brand O’2nd. Not sure if Eun Hye is a spokesperson for the brand, or is friends with the designer, or simply likes the clothes, but it’s hard to find such a suitable celebrity face for any young female clothing line. I think Eun Hye is a designer’s dream, because she can do high fashion couture as many of her previous pictorials have shown, but she’s not skin and bones like some models or actresses out there so the average female consumer probably can relate to her more. All I know is that I’m always checking out what she wears, whether she’s dressing up or glamming up. For this event, she’s sporting a chic ensemble of navy silk button down shirt tucked into a muted navy and brown rounded flare skirt complete with bare legs and black chunky platform pumps. The outfit is cute and elegant (and I’ll assume that it’s from this clothing brand), but I’m really loving her hair color and style (similar to her do at the recent film festival) and how glowing her make up looks. Check out more pictures and the snazzy video below.

Actress Yoon Eun Hye shared her latest with the fans.

Yoon Eun Hye tweeted on the 16th, “After finishing up a meeting”, and she attached three extreme close-up selcas.

In the photos, Yoon Eun Hye is seen with her long and silky hair resting on her shoulder. She looks to have lost a little bit of weight, granted it could easily be the angle of the shot.

Yoon Eun Hye’s beautiful face remains the same, her straight nose, almond eyes black as ink, full lips, and glowing skin can only be described as divine.

Netizens commented on Yoo Eun Hye’s selca, “Can you please make a quick comeback?”, “I didn’t know that it was possible, but she looks even more beautiful now”, “Still beautiful. She’s like a doll”, and so on.
