SJK: I never thought I would get this chance. As a fan, I have seen a lot of Kim's works but never thought i was able to be part of it. Previously I felt that the roles were not suitable for me. Therefore when I heard that I got this role, I got a shock. But after working together for several months, I realised I have a lot of common ground with Kim and therefore am full of anticipation!

In last month's ELLE's interview with Song Hye Gyo, she sent a public message to you "Sorry that after leaving your 2 years in army, your first comeback drama had to be with me. It should have been an even younger and prettier actress but unfortunately you got me, so I am sorry!" How was your chemistry together?

SJK: I saw that article. The one which she shot in Paris right? Talking about chemistry with HyeGyo-noona, it was very good! It was so good taht even the staff asked "Is it really a good idea to film a love story when we know each other so well?" It is to that extent. Recently, Scriptwriter Kim also keep telling us "Please start dating properly!"

Did you envisage that chemistry with her would be so good?

SJK: 5 to 6 months before I left army, I got the news that I got this comeback drama and the role. After that I received news that Hye Gyo noona also confirmed her role for the drama. At that point perhaps because the public expectations were very heated so I felt weird (stressed?). But because both Scriptwriter Kim and Song Hye Gyo both have very direct and frank personality, so do I, therefore, miraculously we all got along very well.

Which are the attributes that you think is the reason to be so well liked?

SJK: I think there are a number of reasons but it could be because I am very forthright and I put my heart in everything I do. Therefore everyone can understand where I am coming from, my fans as well. But if you talk in terms of acting, the image of being well liked may not necessarily be a good thing.

Both Lee GwangSoo and your names are synonyms of each other and on the search sites, both your names are already inseparable, do you want to talk about your friendship?

SJK: Our personalities are very different. I guess that is why we are so close. My personality is forthright and frank whilst Gwangsoo looks after the people around him. Sometimes at work, I may get hurt because of my forthright nature, to have a friend like GwangSoo helps me heal. But of course, I will also be very direct in dealing with the people who are unfriendly to my friends. That's just an example.

Today we are honoured to have this interview with you because of Kolon Sport. How is the progress of the photoshoot

SJK: I am not trying to pander to Kolon Sport but previously when I see Kolon Sport's commercial on TV, I always thought that it was filmed very well. Therefore when I found out the opportunity to work with them I was thinking "Oh I can also shoot such nice photos!" Previously I already had the chance to help Kolon Sport's other labels do a photoshoot, especially the one in Australia for Star Velo, it was an interesting experience.(ELLE KOREA's environmentally friendly project has a series of cycling theme photos of various starts) That photoshoot was very well liked and I loved it personally. When filming the atmosphere was very free and I was able to complete it without restrictions. The bicycle in the photos has been kept my my dad. If there is a chance to ride on it and work with ELLE again it will be a great experience.

What is your next (holiday) destination?

SJK: Personally I would like to go Japan, but if you are talking about the next project, I would like the next project to be a heartbreaking, earthshattering love story (ayronics: what... don't do sad dramas please... not good for my heart). Because I like the new age dramas. Although DOTS is also a love story but my definition of a new age drama is deeper in emotions than DOTS. <Werewolf Youth> is also my attempt in my youth to develop a more emotive love story but I would like to try out something even deeper than that. I would like to try showing the audience acting skills in soulful and heart breaking crying scenes.Perhaps people might say I am trying to pretend to be adult/ mature, but I am really attracted to the classic and unforgettable love stories so if I could do that in my acting career it will be awesome.

KBS2TV's Hot Melodrama (since when its classified as melodrama?) <DOTS> has hosted a press conference on 16 March at 2pm in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The main leads of the drama, Soong Joong Ki, Song Hye Gyo, Jin Goo, Kim Ji won were all present. At the press conference, there were many reporting media companies which shows once again the popularity and attention that the drama has garnered. The atmosphere during the pressconference was harmonious and the actors all displayed their hidden eloquence, particularly the proclaimed Song Song couple who is well loved by everyone, Song Joong ki and Song Hye Gyo, not only showed extraordinary eloquence but also bantered with each other showing the close relationship between the two of them.

There were many questions being directed to SJK and he also showed talent in his replies in that allowing the atmosphere of the press conference to be smooth running and nice. Firstly it was focused on the Bromance with JinGoo, SJK said that "It is my desired aspect, between men there will be a lot of common ground (this is consistent with the number of brotherly friends he has).However I have to say sorry to JG, because no matter what this is a romantic love drama, so there is more emphasis with SHG noona's romance parts" causing everyone to burst out laughing.

After <DOTS> played, SJK also received a lot of attention from overseas. When facing the huge spike in popularity, SJK humbly replied "No matter is it overseas or wherever, even if I receive a lot more attention, I think I will not change. Although it is a good thing, I am just focused on the next project and nothing else so I also dont have much changes" and then he ended with "but my company's earnings probably will change..." showing his funny side (!!!).

SHG was the most experienced actress at the press conference and she displayed extraordinary inner skills (?) and forthright personality. About working with SJK who is 3 years younger, she sais "I am very thankful, to work with such a handsome younger is my honour. Lately there are many actresses around my age group wrking with younger actors and the age difference is generally about 5 years or so. So our age difference comparatively is not that big. SJK treats me like an elder (old person) but after speaking to him, I realised what he knows all that was trending during my growing up years. Also physically, he seems older than me, always sick and everywhere hurting. But I am still very happy and if there is another chance, I would like to work with someone even younger!" causing everyone to burst out laughing.

Regarding the similarities between SJK and YSJ, SHG says about 80% similarity, in fact during the 6 months of filming, she has observed him from the side and noticed that although he is not as outspoken as YSJ, he is more mature than YSJ at heart.

SJK who cant seem to sit still beside her, picks up the microphone and said " this is the best script i have had in my life. I have thought if my performance can help bring the script to another level, but at the end I feel I did not do it so its a pity. It is no because if am modest but this are my honest thoughts."

Of course we cannot avoid mentioning the Song Song couple kiss. SJK says" The wine kiss is the first kiss scene. So I put a lot of work in it. At the end of episode 4, YSJ and KMY is able to arrive at the same extent of emotions to kiss, whether it is able to rouse the audience, how deep should the kiss be, how will the public react, I thought about it for very long. Thankfully, the viewers love it, and I finally feel relieved. At the time of filming, the feeling is very real (?)"

Apart from the wine kiss scene, SJK feels that the most "handsome" moment "It is what Jingoo Hyung also likes, and it has become a term of art  (common term used) on the set. At the end of episode 3, YSJ said "Then save him" that phrase. When reading the script , I couldnt help but want to exclaim. I thought for a long time how to act this scene out. After filming the scene, JG hyung even when he is eating he will also keep saying "Then save him" and thats how it became a popular phrase at our set. And because of him, I had strong impression of that phrase and felt that the scene was not bad. It gives the feeling that YSJ risks everything for KMY. I also had the thoughts of whether I could do it"

Currently the drama is still being aired, at episode 6, the ratings were as high as 28.5%. Being a popular drama, it gives everyone a lot of anticipation how the story will unfold.

[Trivial News] The possibility of a third party?

It has been spreading on the chinese social media sites that one of the Beijing reports on iQiYi (this is the Chinese streaming site that is casting the show simultaneously in China) seems to hint at the possibility of a third party appearing in the next few espisodes. I have not watched that video but attach a screen shot that says it. My guess is the hospital chairman and YSJ appearing to smack the crap out of the pervert??? *dreaming*

In other news, the ratings of DOTS has stabilized at 28.3%. The ratings for the other two dramas in the same slot has suffered a drop in ratings *sorry about that* In fact in some of the articles, it mentions that during the confession scene, the ratings spiked in excess of 30%. Not sure why, but its weird how people turn on their tv just in time to see him tell her he cannot stop missing her and ask her to give it another thought, because he wants to give up trying not to miss her.

Also a bit of guesswork for episode 8 from what I saw in the Chinese and Korean sites and the complete preview 8 - spoiler, so dont click if u dont like leaks?

As for the crying scene, KMY was heartbroken by the fact that the manager had died (partly due to her choice? but she did what she had to do) and YSJ is helplessly standing behind her to give her support. After that they had a heart to heart talk about him and his job and thats where the infamous line in the preview 8, YSJ said, "not dying is also part of what I do (best?)". I think after that she agreed, which is why in the complete preview 8, there were scenes of YSJ carrying the ropes out of their car with her looking at him and with his smile so big.

Thereafter, he probably entered the rubble again this time with the General Manager idiot where he gave him a speech of how he will save him even though he is a bad guy. Which he did, blocking the General Manager by using his body as a shield from the falling foundation.

Then, in preview 8, we see KMY bracing herself by tying her own shoelaces. Ready to run to the scene when needed (for him?). I thought that was more of a reaction to the fact that she has accepted him and what he does, and next what she needed to do is to walk the talk and be there for him when he needs her. Any thoughts?
