The affair is just the Providence's last warningfor changing and making the right choices for her poor soul. Being such a stubborn, smart and chameleonic woman, only a young talented brutally honest, attractive, out of her worldman could shake and bring her to her true senses she once had. She still acts in fear of losing what she strived for all her life and I am sure it's not long before she hits the bottom, "helped" by that rotten family and her husband. They will "help" by rejecting her. There are so many similarities to the A Wife's Credentials (having to face and deal with new feelings/facts/romantic encounters, long time humiliation/submission out of fear of losing the stability pretending to be ok) that I cannot not expect the best end for everyone. I find this show flawless so far, and as a bonus I am delighted by the level of intimacy created between them everytime they meet.

I see the cup as half full - can't change my nature of being an optimist. Especially knowing what mess Kdrama writers can create at the end - this was a super good end.
I won't go into discussion as I have already discussed these same points you are mentioning in several posts earlier and don't want to repeat the same things, because I risk @ktomato to throw herself at me with horror at my seriousness. For me there is all the proof of what I said in the episode and I have every right to be optimistic.
Still, there is one point I can't leave unanswered. You have absolutely no ground to accuse SJ of using HW to get a music career - he returned the scholarship and left the school. That's way too farfetched. His letter, whether it;s a letter or internal monologue, shows his thoughts and his feelings for HW and expresses his determination to wait for her and his unchanging love. It's not a lie. It's the truth.
I will leave the ultimate proof to the writer - if you don't know cecilia had gotten hand on the script and she and songshini are planning to translate parts of it and enlighten us.
Just one example is the "shocked" look when SJ sees HW with her hair chopped. According to the writer (script translated by cecilia) he is actually shocked with himself, because her shabby look with chopped hair actually turns him on - I am NOT inventing this - it was written by the writer and was a surprise for me too.
It's your right to believe what you want to believe and to express your opinion. I don't see why you have to be afraid of stoning.

Ep 16. Scene #58. In court

    -Hye Won stands up

    -everyone pays attention

    -Sun Jae, Be strong!

-Hye Won, starts calm and composed

Hye Won  Now, I only plan to concentrate on myself. Chairman Han Sung Suk, Chairman Hong Tae Young who is sitting in the accused seat in place of President Seo Pill Won, and Executive director Kim In Gyum who directs the legal team.. I have no interest in the punishment that these people will receive.

-In Gyum, gently biting his back teeth

-Sung Suk who is sitting in the accused seat crosses her arms, glances at In Gyum, You can end up like me too

Hye Won I don't have any intention to say that I'm not the main culprit or to ask for more favourable arrangements. All the crimes I committed was not forced on me by anyone, but was my own choice. Of course it was wrong...

-Jang Ho (Justin) who is sitting amongst the onlookers whispers into Dami's ear

Jang Ho Is it ok for her to put herself down like that? Don't people usually say I'm innocent?

Dami (That's right. She turns around to look at Sun Jae)

-Sun Jae, Just looking at Hye Won's back with a piercing gaze.

Hye Won Thanks to them, I enjoyed luxuries that I didn't deserve..company credit card, a house under the foundation's name, a car, a maid ..Because these were things that I would have not been able to get with my background growing up or with just my ability, I really wanted to make all those things really my possessions. I also wanted exercise power in the music world which I had given up on. As if they were things that I had from the moment I was born, as if they were things saved in my genes, I wanted to make it so that noone could take those things away from me.

    - Ji soo who is sitting amongst the audience wipes her eyes with tissue, Se jin touches the strap of the bag on her knee. Jung hee, sighs softly. I know that mindset too...

Hye Won But then one day, really unexpectedly, the balance sheet of my life became laid out in front of me. The things that I lost living this way, things that I were scared of just thinking about, things which I didn't want to acknowledge, asked me. How was I going to live the rest of my life.

-Sun Jae, You are doing well

Hye Won I remember that moment vividly. (For the first time since she started her testimony, she faintly smiles) It was a highlight scene from my life... It was the moment, for the first time in my life, where someone, devoted themselves totally to me.

     -Everyone, What could this be?

-Sun Jae, smiles a little to himself

Hye Won It wasn't like this person laid down [his] life for me, or confessed enthusiastically to me. That person, all [he] did was just wiping with a cloth in a flustered way. [He] just wanted to create a clean place for a woman like me to sit and tried hard doing so.. That moment I knew. That I had never received such sincerity from anyone before, and worse than that, that I, myself, had considered myself as only a tool for success....

-Different reactions from people in audience

-In Gyum, If she does this, the battlefield is going to spread

-Dami pouts her lips in an effort not to cry, Jang Ho, I think I know what she is trying to say. But I will also love you like that. He hugs Dami's shoulder.

-Se jin's eyes are filling up with tears. Ji soo is wiping her nose. Jung Hee is biting her fingertips. I envy her.

-Sung Suk, So that's why you lost it. She sneers.

-Sun Jae, I'm waiting for your last words.

Hye Won The one who mistreated me, and made me pitiful was me, myself.. Not only that, I hurt and gave many people desperation numerous times to the extent that I cannot remember.. So I will accept the result of this trial. I will not appeal, whatever the verdict. I rest my case.

-Sun Jae is in a daze. You did well. You were cool.

-Time passes. Hye Won, Sung Suk, Chairman Hong exit

-From a distance, Sun Jae stands up and looks on

-As she is walking out, Hye Won turns to look at him. She smiles. Was I ok?

-Sun Jae, Of course.. But then Hye Won disappears, Sun Jae has a lump in his throat

    Notes

    (1) The part where Hye Won says that was the highlight scene of my life. That whole chunk of lines were included in the script of ep 6 when Hye Won went to SJ place and watched as he cleaned the floor. In the script of ep 6, it says in brackets, this is what Hye Won is going to say in the future

    (2) The parts in red is the dialogue plus any of the related thoughts, expressions, actions. Things in brackets are not said out loud. The parts in black are not dialogue and are meant to be instructions on the other parts of the scene (of the people who are not talking), their thoughts and expressions etc.

I thought i'll go backwards from ep 16 and pick scenes which I think are worthy of translating!

  4. I am fascinated by his love. I know he fell in love when his soul connected to hers in music. He wanted to preserve this special connection intact, which is the source of his unending love. He tried to not let her lifestyle taint it. But it came to a point when he sensed that avoiding danger is not a solution. Before something irreversible might happen he distanced himself and let her choose. Music is be all and end all for him, the center of his universe, the gear of his emotions and actions. He cannot compromise on that for is his downfall. "It's all hell anyway" kind of life. And because she chose to step out from dark only shows that the connection was real. They will "look in the same direction" forever. He's surreal and real in the same time.but the enriching experience I have from this show is very real. :)  But it sets such a high standard it's scary.

After HW appears with her chopped up hair and she jokes and asks what SJ thinks of her hair, this is what it says in the script
선재 (아우, 시선 피하며 어쩔 줄 모른다. 나 아무래도 문제 있어. 저 모습에 도발되다니)

Sun Jae (gosh... he avoids her gaze and doesnt know how to react. He thinks to himself, I think there must be a problem with me that I'm provoked (sexually) by that appearance)
This is what is meant to be going through SJ's head at that moment! To SJ, HW is beautiful and he's attracted to her no matter how she looks!!

  7. He was so persistent in making HW "clean"  due to his cleanliness habit lol j/k Seriously, it was a wonderful soulful journey until the last moment and a perfect ending for me. They made the best out of their situation and brought out what's best in them. It's a perfect beginning to become the best versions of themselves. Freedom, faith and love are there like never before. Actually I feel refreshed for the first time since ep1 and will add more feelings after seeing with subs :)
    EPIC show, EPIC ending. ^:)^

  8. FLUFFY BISCUIT CRACKERS ON A CATERPILLAR BASKET OF FEELS!!
Both alive and kicking in a jolly good fun quest of searching for perfection, belonging and truth in this heartless world of fallibility
Writer nim  you are my fairy, granting all my wishes plus everything I didn't know I wanted in my life... :x
    @SJ ohwegotabadassoverthere.jpg B-) a charming one YES! Thank you ;;)

  9. Are you  all waiting the preview like I do? :-SS lol
There were some posts earlier about characters morality. I'm trying to acknowledge facts about them without any usual judgement. So far I see HW as a person who is not cut out for being socially worthless. Her own sense of self-worth was strongly connected with work. She was proving her own value through material achievements:right house, car, furnishings etc. Our culture taught us that. She was trying to survive and did her best given her limitations and understanding the situation at the time. Tried a strategy to make her feel better, in the face of pain of quitting a remarkable music carrier  but in the long run brought great distress. Her genuine nice friends tell me that she is not a bad person, corrupted or immoral. Now we have her living a life changing experience. She may learn that self worth comes not from achievements but from natural flow of aliveness.  We'll see. Only HW and SJ show a real desire to overcome their shortcomings. This effort solely should absolve them of any punishment, imo. They try to figure things out, they are both fighters in their own way. And I love it to bits.
Even in AWC there were at least 2 characters who got away with their shenanigans (I cannot stop comparing :)
I was hoping in a previous post for things to unfold nice and easy and everything falling in the right place. Monday >:/

  10. Now that he had light bulb moment and acknowledged (emotionally too) her life situation, not even running to the end of the world would make her clean. And he doesn't seem to be one of those men tho stumble over the truth and pick himself up and walk as if nothing happened. Especially when she is his truth. Helping her is like helping himself to get out of this mess. Also, perhaps she reminds him of his mother who was as pitiable being easily conned few times and realize that if he loves someone he must love for who she is and not for what he wants her to be. It would be the last stage : mature love. (even if that means being just friends)So yes I think he is there to sustain her in any possible way he can
Besides that I don't even want to think of what could possibly happen in these 2 last episodes, I want to be surprised and feel like a child dizzy on lemonade lol

  11. seungshinl said: That said, the SLA has been nothing if not internally logical and organic in their story telling for the entire series.  There is no reason to believe it will be any different for the final two episodes.  So the baddies will be punished and goodies will be rewarded or not punished.  Everything they have shown and spoken through the actors and pictures will have meaning to the end and will factor into the resolution.

  12. Not my fault that PDnim made me believe in unicorns, rainbows, suns, ducks, dolphins and everything nice. That AWC ending was daebak-est (!) Cannot wrap may head around the idea that he worked so diligently on a perfect script just to deflate us (ha) with a nonsense ending and royally miss to convey some kind of message.Last to episodes will be the (2) cherry on top.<:-POr else I will quit kdrama land for another 3 years LOL

I'm hoping for a happy ending... that a musicians soul is not a superficial one... its listens through the strings (in this show - keys) and not through ordinary emotions of physical lust and everyones idea of what love and a compatible partner should be.  Soul mates can be very different people from very different backgrounds and even age groups but there must be one uniting factor and hopefully thats the one thing that will glue 2 people fast together despite the challenges.

This is EXACTLY why I keep my expectations high for the ending! Love it how you said it  :)

  14. SennaR said: Ugh this Madam Baek is really getting on my nerves. For money this woman will do anything. She went against Young Woo cause she knows Madam Han hates her. Basically sucking up to her. And then after Hye Won told Madam Han not to see Baek, she started saying "gather evidence" and stuff against Hye Won. What a despicable woman. And her daughter too.
    [-( ~X(

  15. All I can say is that right now I expect a box with a nice red bow full of HW's excuses for doing what she did, other than "money can buy everything" motto. Love cannot justify her possible revenge on those who helped her living a life she wanted, in that case. She would be just a big opportunist. Not coolThe fortune teller's story annoys me big timeSo I expect the mailman  :-w

  16. From text preview it seem that both will be put under pressure though separately. It will be interesting to see how the relationship will be affected and who will remain more supportive. We'll be given bunch of new clues to chew on next week. Gosh I feel like suspense is reaching a peak  X_X
