However, he looked a bit thin. He was happy to see us and shook our hands. His hands are big and strong. We congratulated him on receiving the "Star of the Year" award and he thanked us. We all told him to get married and he smiled sweetly. When we told him that we would fly to Seoul to attend his wedding, he actually laughed out loud. He left quickly for the security area but turned around and waved to us one more time!!!! It was so sweet of him. I am so thrilled with this personal encounter that I forgot completely to ask for his autograph. This is one experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

    OOOooiiii...Rubie! What about 'Everybody Has Secrets'?

    You still haven't finished 'Beautiful My Lady'? Maybe you are way smarter than me coz come to think of it, because of the ending I dislike the actress and .... er the drama as well. Up till today I still cannot swallow the fact that a wife knowing that her hubby is dying can lie beside him as if he's a bolster...no emotions whatsoever from her...and he dies!!!! I am sure he didnt die because of brain something something (cannot remember the actual illness) due to his physical injuries but heart sick (got a wife like that!!!) Of course, of course my baby can do no wrong in any drama or movie EXCEPT that bowl-cut hairstyle in 'Harmonium'!!!

    I have been out of touch. SO what's up with him recently? New drama or movie?

    It's okay, Omma Butterfly.. I've seen the Seoul Savvy too :blush: but not the English/international version.. and unfortunately, can't have it uploaded as well. But now that the show has officially been aired with fans watching it, we'll definitely have more sharing it later.. on Youtube, etc. Just listening to him speak English and understanding every word he said.. simply the best! :wub:

    And wow.. just look from where and when he started years ago.. such a dorky greenhorn :lol: .. to the intense portrayal of Lee Minchul that we're so captivated by and still is.. Byunghun certainly has moved up and improved himself all the way. Watching the BSL BTS.. the 'buried alive' scene as CP had mentioned.. always, always makes me appreciate the actor even more.. every time.

    YA! YA! Even the uncle is proud of that 'buried alive' scene!! What we see in that few minutes took days to film ... 'showered' with cold water .... buried and digging himself out of that 'cold mud'.

    LBH HAS come a long way. He was dorky no doubt... but that nerdy looking boy transformed into a dashing macho man that he is now. Not only his acting but his looks too are like wine don't you think? The older he is the better he looks. *slurp*

    Elsie, if you already have Discovery Channel at home, you don't have to watch it on NHK.. although it'll be cool to watch every airing of the Seoul Savvy. I know I would not miss anything if I could.. :blush:

    Eventho it is a norm to learn praises for his acting talent but coming from Hollywood which is supposedly the world's center stage...it kinds of put a stamp on him. It's just amazing. And was it Wayans who realised what a "big deal" he is? Hehehe....now only he knows!? And the narrator calls him the ultimate artiste!! Aren't we all proud of him!!!!!!!!!!!!

    EDIT : Oh...I really wish I know how to record the whole thing! So sorry Rubie.

    Okay.. those sheer white ones up there.. I love :blush: .. although I couldn't get passed BH (without burning up) :blush: :blush: :blush: even after all these years.. quite the first time seeing Byunghun-ssi so exposing himself.. like never before.. :blush: :blush: :blush: what am I babbling about!? :wacko::sweatingbullets: I don't mind seeing him taking it all off on the big screen.. as in acting.. as someone else.. but seeing glossy prints like these.. as he, himself and no other.. is something new.. very new to the blurpanda.. indeed. :blush:

    Quite the Shocking STORM indeed.. ohh my! He's absolutely teasing and torturing the fans to the max!

    Kudos to the photobook concept & BH for so all-out but frankly.. rubes is barely standing..

    Got to watch only the latter part of the feature on Rain and the documentary was delightfully entertaining to me. Though I'm not much of a Rain fan, somehow I was touched by his success story.

    The Rain segment was well-researched and fast paced as it also took one around Seoul. You simply gush over the sights. It truly is a dynamic country and Rain pictured that dynamism.

    If this is a taste of what to expect with Lee Byung Hun's Seoul Savvy segment, well, it will be a feast for the eyes and the senses. A whole hour with LBH on your tv set..oh my....can't wait till June. :rolleyes:

    Evolutions... of two men and one city...thats what HIP KOREA is all about. Truly insightful!

    kimchibabe......I was even tickled to see "Boys Over Flowers" featured in Rain's documentary....making its so recent too. I agree with you about Rain's segment being well researched as I am a die-hard-hard fan of his....and of course my other baby LBH.

    Also.. a friend who watched the ceremony last Thursday noticed that BH specifically put on his cute glasses while watching the Wonder Girls' performance.. laughing.gif or so it seems. :P

    I didnt know that it was awards night when I turned on Astro as I was suppose to be following my Korean series. Since it was not something I had wanted to watch I was about to change channel when I saw LBH presenting an award. Cannot control my happiness I had to call you ... not even knowing that I am watching something live!!!!

    He looks so so so much better 'live' than photos. If I am Mandalay... I would have fainted coz then its even more 'life' than 'live'.

    ^ LS, I can't agree more with your analysis .. about InHa, and the reason for all his despair & hardships as well as his desire to succeed, eventually. You could not have said better, word for word. :wub: I'm still dl-ing & watching All In but in the meantime have started with CP as well. More rambles at blurpanda but always looking forward to your Inha talk, totally remembering such a great series. Hahaa.. for all the times he was beaten.. Inha actually kicked some major a**es even more. The fight scenes are just perfect, so effortlessly.. BH is really awesome doing the high-sweeping kicks because he really knew how it's supposed to be done.

    It'll be great if one day we can discuss about Minchul & Inha back to back.. why we love these 2 characters and the actor himself... so fine. :blush: For a great time shared, every panda talk on All In have been copied at the other forum too, in case anyone would like to read them.. all in one go. :P

    Hohohoho...I have completed the whole series of All-In!!!! I was in front of my TV at 8am this morning with my work thrown all over the floor. My hubby came downstairs said "you seem very busy but you are having your legs up on the sofa enjoying a drama!" What can I say...i just smiled to him and continue. Tic-toc...tik-toc...one episode done...tik-toc...tic-toc...its already noon. No shower no breakfast...only In-ha as titbits!!!! Then I got a call!!! Eeks...my work....but wait I have 15 mins more...then I was done.

    Phew! I love All-In!! I love In-ha!!! But I am kind of disappointed with the ending. I was looking forward to a last all-in at the table ~ a climax...but it ended so subtle. Sweet...but subtle. But then its a real life story I should not expect something dramatic. Hmmm....but on the whole In-ha's life is one hell of a roller coaster ride ~ one drama after another. But he is very lucky to have such loyal childhood friends and his hyung who stuck by him thro thick and thin...making his life more bearable.

    BTW Rubie have you complete your CP download? Since all my files are intact I will not be subscribing to Megaupload to re-d/l them. And how come you are downloading All-In?? You don't have a copy yet? How did you watch the last time???

    Wah!! You finally have a copy of Beautiful Days, willenette!! :D

    BD is an all-time fave here and whether you watched it a long time ago or just now, there will always be something to talk about it..... in fact, endless ramblings coz it is always exciting to reminisce most of the scenes there.

    Just give latitude to the "hair" of my Hunnie coz remember this was done in 2001 yet. :P:lol:

    Dont worry it wud grow on you (his persona, not the hair :lol: ) and i know that you have very flexible taste in your namjas. ;)

    When the other dramas are doing tame hugz and kisses even up to now (think Thank you, Surgeon Bong Dal hee) while others are getting to be a little bit bolder and daring like Que Sera sera, Bad Couple and Coffee Prince, BD has always been the pioneer when it comes to passionate, yummy kissing and tight hugging.

    Please share your thots with us after watching BD. His acting is flawless there and he and CJW has one of the best chemistry ever in K-dramas. enjoy!!! ;)

    Ella...I remember the first time I watch BD and when I see Minchul's hair I will unconsciously tilt my head or throw my head backward to get the hair away from my eyes!!! Hahaha...but after some time the hair 'grew on' me.

    Hahaa.. Omma.. I love how you put San Francisco into the scenario! InHa would loved that! :P Gardening??? That hits the bulls-eye, right on! Soooo BH! :wub:

    All In has to be the series with the most near-misses.. not once, not twice, but three times and even more! :o If it's not for InHa & his hyung Jong Ku and close friends by his side.. an ordinary soul would have buckled up and just let go of everything. But it's the hardships that made him more appreciative and determined to make it without having to stoop so low for revenge. He just gets even with the best possible way that no one expected, being the coolest & richest of all.

    Yup.. just from a small favor he did to help Mr. Min (for his daughter, actually).. little gang-misunderstanding became the start of a painful domino-effect that goes a lifetime, all the way from the small town he lived in to the big cities in the US and back again. Everyone is 'connected' with everyone but InHa, the one man who only wants to be with the person he loves and starting a new life.. keeps getting dragged back into the mudhole... over and over.

    ps: uhh.. Omma.. maybe that pants was the lucky charm for 'Once in a Summer'.. kekeke! :P

    Rubie....It was Hyung Jong Ku's lofty ambitions to have that house, yacht and a gardener. I was a mere copycat! Hahahaha. It was in episode 7...when In-ha asked if he needs a maid as well coz he was thinking of SY. Well...as for me I do not need a maid by that name as I have ideas of my own having In-ha as my gardener.

    I guess trying to finish the series by yesterday was another unachievable ambition of mine. I am only at 19 now. I might watch 1 episode before I sleep tonight tho.

    Somehow I feel like kicking myself for not watching this the last time. In-ha being beaten up was just a few fleeting scenes only as most of the time he was the one kicking a$$es. He is soooooooooo cool. As cool as Minchul tho in a different way. Minchul is more cultured with a tinge of prince-syndrome initially. Tho In-ha can be fast with his fist (and his cool cool kicks!!!) and crude in his behaviour he has a good heart. Someone who cares for his 'brothers' and his uncle. Like Minchul too he loves deeply...but In-ha is more unlucky coz his love one is the cause of his first problem and effects that followed. But she too is the reason for his never-die fighting spirit. The reason for him to live. And eventually she is the reason for him to succeed.

    'Summer' sweeps! It was just a quick scan on my part....no time to read all the post. Anyway whether LBH gets the trophy or not he's already a winner in our hearts. But there's no denying that he is part of the reason for the success of 'Summer'....tho I hate that pants!

    Rubie....when I become rich I want to buy a house on the hill slope of San Francisco overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, have a multi-million dollar yacht and drink the finest wine from auction...then I might need a gardener! Hmm...I will love this gardener and protect him with my life. He need not even touch a spade but share my finest wine and drive my sleekest Jag. When I am lonely he will be my companion...his name is In-ha.

    Hahaha..I am now epi 15. I know I should be working as I do not even have time to swallow my saliva...but its dripping hard just thinking of In-ha. I think its justifiable enough since my philosophy: Do not do 2 things at the same time and end up not doing anything satisfactorily.... applies here. I will try to complete the whole series by tmr and do triple shifts on Monday onwards on the project. Ahhh...but no time to discuss tho.

    At the moment I think In-ha is the most unfortunate and the unluckiest guy in the world. From a small fight to help Mr Min...his problems as snowballed into this magnitude. I went thro the whole scenerio of 'if-he-had-nots' the line just wouldn't end.

    Pandas....looks like you all have to continue watching All-In without me. My project is brought forward by 2 weeks! But it doesn't mean I will not continue watching it. I am at epi 8 already and in between I will find some free time to finish the whole series. Chongmal miahne.

    Rubie...these past 2 days I didn't jump ship either.... but in bed. Was and am still sick. I will try to read the backpages later...but please continue with the discussion. I will jump in if time permits.

    Omma, I can only answer this now.. I've forgotten the details and just watched ep 2 after figuring out the subs file. Aish.. some days, rubie is just more blurr than usual but I've got the subs working already. Cool.

    It's Mr. Min.. Min Soo Yeon's (SHK's character) father. He was confronted by the same men who had played the card game with him before that. Talk about sore losers. :angry: They knew that Mr. Min wasn't really good at playing cards, they noticed his 'lacking' techniques.. so, they wanted the money back. Actually it was InHa's uncle who taught him some tips and let him win all the money. Even before that I was already afraid seeing that Mr. Min still wanted to play a few more rounds after winning a lot.. it's an addicting game, a habit that cannot be broken especially when there's no money left.

    Mr. Min wasn't going to let go of the cash.. that's why he got beaten to death. And his daughter was taken by the Brown Bear men, they waited for the money but Mr. Min never did show up.. obviously. All of a misunderstanding with tragic consequences.

    I just watched the ending of ep2 and I really like how the series builds up the momentum for the next episodes when all the adult characters finally make their entry. It's just perfect how they really raise the viewers' anticipation. it's really cool and the song by Park Yong Ha is an All In classic. Love it!

    Btw, I wasn't really affected the first time I watched the scene last year but when Jung Won visited Inha in prison before he goes abroad to study, he was already in tears but Inha kept his cool and he cried only after that, he said (to himself) .. by sending Jung Won and Soo Yeon off.. he let his teenage years passed him by. That's really sad. Being in prison for 7 years at the age of 18, that is really a great burden to carry.. emotionally.

    Jin Goo as the younger InHa... he totally, totally has that BH factor :blush: .. the similar charisma and intense passion. Can definitely see one in the other.. they're so obvious. As for Soo Yeon.. maybe.. due to her sadder background, losing both parents in a short time to each other in such a tragic way, the girl is extremely sad.. there's really no sparkle of happiness in her eyes, just tiredness. But as the character changes for the adult appearance, Soo Yeon is somehow tranformed rather quickly.. a young nun-to-be.. yet very cheerful and energetic. Maybe it's the surrounding living with the kids at the orphanage that changes her persona so different than before.

    So it was not the Brown Bear gang that killed the father. Thanks. When I saw him gambling I was so scared that they might be caught cheating. I was like peeping and munching tit-bits....but after the game and they parted ways I was so relieve its over THEN I saw ppl following the father. Eeeks....and off I ran.

    The voice over at the prison after the younger Yong Won left was heart-wrenching...."by sending YW off..that's how I let my teenage years passed" The young In-Ha is admirable. He has the same piercing eyes full of expression. The way he tilt his head is totally LBH! At certain angles he even looked like LBH.

    I also love the part when he has to learn all the games and the way he relaxed on the table and gazes at SY. He looks so adorable....and so natural. Oops! Rubie Dear...actually that was episode 6. I have gone to 7 already. I will slow down....tomorrow.

    Anyway I cannot say the same for the young Soo-yeon. She has that lost look and quite bland. Maybe she is suppose to project that kind of image, I dunno but luckily she grew up to be quite feisty and bubbly. I love the sleepy head....even dozing off during mass!!! It is so me! Hahaha.

    BTW glad you got the subs right now.

    Ahhhh...I saw the naked LBH already!!!! I rewind the scene twice! ONLY. At first I do not know which ones belong to Hunnie! :blush: I was actually scanning with my laser-sharp eyes for a pair of sexy buns. Hmm....cannot find one then saw Hunnie turned around when the warden shouted 'Shower over'....so I rewind to look....then rewind again..this time to study. I will say I am quite disappointed in a way. He needs more bed...I mean more exercise to build up those buns of his. :rolleyes::vicx:

    Anyway where were my eyes the last time I watch? I seemed to miss so many things. I never paid attention to his bum...never notice the soapy water on this body....and what's worse...I never know that the young In-ha is that good looking. Oh yes...a good actor as well. And Rubie...of course I noticed the pants too...this time.

    I ran to the kitchen when Mr Him (??) was waylaid after winning in the card game. Too chicken to watch. Now I wonder who robbed and killed him. Was it the Brown Bear gang ppl again?

    I guess some of you must be wondering why I was so quiet after watching epi 1 & 2. In all honesty I hate watching those 'olden days' type of drama...like the 60s, 70s or even 80s....something like 'Summer', and the first 2 episodes of BD....something like the hippie era. But this time round I want to understand All-In better and the history behind....so I forced myself to watch. Luckily I did. Not only do I understand the background of all the characters now...but I got to be re-introduced to the actor playing the young In-ha.

    Yup, we're watching & discussing an episode a day.. starting with ep 1 today. Just join in as always, zashi.. the more the merrier our BH talk. :P But no rush at all as it's something to enjoy and not vice-versa. :D Omma-hunnie, no worries at all... no rush, ok. This is our talk .. no formalities whatsoever as we're all in the panda family. :lol: We're enjoying the series, not doing a test or quiz or whatever. Truly a great sharing.. knowing that it's not easy to get together these days.. so, we'll just go with the flow and enjoy everything about BH/All in to the fullest and the best we can.Eh.. you've actually watched the scenes of InHa already in US.. that's already halfway, Omma. :o Aigoo... you missed the best part.. the rags-to-riches ending that will surely warm your heart. Oops.. I forgot.. there's the shooting and separation scene to come. But .. it's never a dull moment watching InHa. BH played his character so well, it's understandable that we'd cry & hurting for him.All In really makes me appreciate the versatility and variety in BH's acting. He's so intense yet vulnerable as Minchul but as InHa, such a rough and tough guy who's actually a real softie at heart.

    Rubie....this ole Omma only got to episode 1 only lah...where got go to US? Belum. I was recalling the last time I watched to Ylin...when In-ha was with his good buddy in US.I haven't reached 2nd yet. Need to shower first. Get a packet of muruku....then lie back and enjoy.

    Ohh... hohohoo... :w00t: Almost forgot to mention that the young Inha wears the black & white printed shirt, the SAME pattern as BH's famous pants in Once in a Summer. :P And was it ylin or summer who saw the same pants in White Nights 3.98, also worn by the younger version of LBH's character? :lol: I don't have the caps for Jin Goo (it was during the fighting in the cinema scene) but here's a pic of BH from last year's movie.     Can I start a bit on All In while waiting for Omma-hunnie, not sure what we're discussing.. real drama talk or more InHa love? :P Kekeke...

    Anyway.. I'm watching a subless download version (aish, it's a long story :sweatingbullets: ) but I don't want to miss out on the talk so I went ahead. Blurpanda can actually watch BH movies/series without any subs as long as his voice is not dubbed. Although I don't remember the detailed details, still have a vague memory on the "business" part of All In.

    I wish to correct myself though :blush: I said earlier that All In is 90% LBH.. it's actually 95% InHa.. meaning that it focuses more on Kim InHa the character, not the actor who played it. What is the blurpanda rambling about. :wacko: Watching episode 1, compared to BD.. since All In is sort of a biography, the childhood part is obviously more prominent.. spanning at least 3 episodes long while in BD.. the childhood only shown in an earlier flashback and by the end of episode 1, we can already see the adult Minchul coming in.

    That's why Jin Goo who played the younger InHa gets a real exposure when he debuts in the series, quite a role he's playing.. and until now, All In remains his most popular and mentionable work.. not just because he played the younger version of LBH in All In but because he got quite the most important part of the series. Of course, he has yet to get a leading drama role for himself like Han Ji Min, whom I think got more exposure in Dae Jang Geum that she did later.. and more drama roles coming to her, already getting leading roles. It's great that the actors are doing well after All In.

    Sorry for the BH off topic.. waiting for Omma's cue on how we're discussing the series. :P

    Btw, I've got the popcorn & coffee set for all. :lol:

    ps: it's obvious that the younger InHa & SooYeon's chemistry really clicked straightaway despite the slap and all.. because they were both quite the same 'mould', coming from similar background.

    I am so sorry Rubie...I have eaten your doughnut, drank the coffee, munch the popcorns as well but I am only 1/2 way at episode 1! :blush: I was interrrupted by 2 phone calls from US...lasting 6 hours in total this evening alone. In-law crisis ;) to be exact m-i-l problem. I just got off the line and I need to freshen up before I continue...then I had to walk pass the pc!

    Rubie...we talk anything All-In...from our Hunnie to the helicopter he rode on, ok? You know me...never like formalities. Anyway I am very blur on the younger actors' names.

    Ylin...the reason why I was not able to watch All-In last time was coz In-Ha was so beaten up. When he cannot afford a proper meal and had to eat burger in US I cried like there was no tomorrow ~ as if LBH was hungry.

    But I have 'grown up' since.....hopefully. I must not mix real with reel now.

    Guess what I did this afternoon? DVD shopping! Bought me a set of All-In DVD!!! I even checked the English subs. Happy with it. Then got GY's One Fine Day and Hardtack Teacher Star Candy (unfortunately this pc was :ph34r: coz the original has audio problem). I was so tempted to get BD coz this one is DVD with English subs...but I hesitate and hesitate....then decided to put it back on the shelf. I have too many copies of BDs already. Got HK dramas too. My hubby is going to wear crumpled shirts to office for the next 2 months! :blush:

    omo omo omo!!!!! i was supposed to mail my ALL IN DVDs this week for my friend! i'll just tell her to wait for now. it'd really be nice to re-watch a drama with friends. so are we starting this saturday? (there goes my planned CP marathon again LOL)

    Ching -- I think it's the time when MC saw the shop supervisor bullying YS after learning from minji that YS stayed in their house, and decided to introduce YS as his gf to Minji in the dinner date which YS didn't turn up.

    I'm not good at offering prayers. But today, I am going to pray for Yeon-soo. Please take away her tears and replace them with smiles. Please bless her with good health and a happy life.     LS -- I really do not know when MC actually fall in love with YS. He's not only teasing YS all the time but the audience as well. Yeah...got to admit I cannot finger-point it out.     ylin -- I only know their love grew after they have spent the night in the little house at the beach.....

    I can only say MC can't get enough of her that's why he turned back to give her the victory kiss after he peck her on forehead.

    My guess is MC realised how much he loves YS was when they finally met and hugged each other tightly under the cherry-blossom tree.

    Also, he must be madly in love with her in order for him to book a hotel room, arranged a heart-shaped bed of roses and proposed to her.....

    Ella -- I think the status of their relationship was sealed with that Inside the Car kiss.

    You know how Koreans value the first intimate kiss. (as in your committed)

    MC affirmed it with the Victory kiss.

    I think he finally admitted, realized and surrendered his love to YS when he went to the "Cherry Blossom" Park. He accepted that he cant live without her
