  1. This was my first xianxia drama and it really did not disappoint. The chemistry between the leads is astounding. It was a long drama but I didn't feel that it was too long. I liked the backstory and even thought it was lowkey BL coz of Xuanji being ......and all but yep, I really enjoyed this and I'm glad this was my first.

Does anyone else find it funny that Sifeng coughs up blood like every single episode? His lungs must be very weak. :joy:

  2. This was my second venture in the xianxia genre of Chinese dramas and it did not disappoint. You wouldn't think it was 63 episodes since all the characters had their own character development. Of course, there were times where I hated Runyu but it was understandable given his situation. I still hated him at times though. The chemistry of everyone is outstanding and it would be in my list of recommended xianxia dramas.

Oh Damn, really? Poor OYS. SOGC and now Hwayugi too...even LSG almost always gets open endings..both of them have had such bad luck. :(

Don't remind me of JSM dying in OG's arms. :( I didn't cry when episode 19th aired because I thought they will definitely get a happy ever after but now it makes me emotional since the show ended on them still being apart and in different dimensions. :(

I agree..it did feel like a plot device for a continuation..especially since the show was supposed to end at all the characters ending their journey and gaining deityhood but it felt like they weren't even halfway done in episode 20.

You didn't miss much in the comment section. Everyone is angry. Everyone feels cheated. No one is praising the ending. Basically people are resorting to writing fanfiction to give themselves and the fans closure. But most of them are demanding Season 2.

I'll be honest and say that I wouldn't mind if they don't give us a season 2 but I will take even a measly special with conclusion to the OTP's journey for finding each other and ending up together. They kept too many plot lines open for them for us to be happy with crumbs of a maybe happy ending. It's very unfair to us after we invested so much time and emotion in their journey.

Oh wow..there's an actual article? :o I guess the cast, team and channel is aware of the displeasure now. I know it's a futile hope but if not a Season 2 I hope it can lead to at least a special episode for Hwayugi's conclusion for the OTP.

Or even a movie is fine by me.

But i wanna thx for hong sister because they gave a chance for lee sung gi as son oh gong

Damn we can see his MANLY SIDE in this drama ahahahha, i watch his previous drama before but er.... still not gain my attention to him, but after hwayugi, DAMN !!!! i become lee seung gi fans now :dizzy:

You should watch King2Hearts for me that is the first time I ever saw him serious

  5. Okay, after much of a desre for physical contact between SOG and JSM at the end. When I searched the original JTTW plot SOG's character went to the gates of hell to look for the book of life? And since JSM has a demon/diety part within her now it means SOG can put her status up to being an immortal.

I just hope we saw that though. Sigh

By the way, no photos for OYS and LSG together in wrap up party? Weird! Usually she takes photos with her costars....so suspicious indeed

Okay... If we get that kind of ending, my mind flies to "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" ending... And that really made me mad like crazy person for few months... Seriously.. I really hate that kind of ending...

Or kind of ending like "Goblin" who need to wait?? Or who's here watch "Monkey King Chinese Movie Version - Eddie Pheng"? In the end, the monkey king said that no one can tame her because he sealed his heart for one women? Ending like that????

I just voted and the happy ending 89% and what the heck with 11% asked for sad ending?????? R u antifan of OYS??? Or r u the delutional shipper from the x-gf??? Please open your eyes!!!! Look at their great acting and great chemistry please....

Okay we have OYS pic for wrap up party... She looks so sporty indeed.. Curious with LSG. As I know he has promotion event for his movie today. Will he make it to join the wrap up party?

Please PM me for the working streaming link for tonight please...

    Scarlet heart Ryeo traumatized me.

This isa bit out of topic but regarding the bts. May i take it positively that this time round her co-star (aka Lee Seunggi) didn't treat her like a guy ?

because in all her projects she always ended up being a male dongsaeng to all of them :D. Kwon sang woo even play with her by grabbing her collar cos how strong she is ...  Rain and Joowon are the same too.

Even her female co stars in Take off 2 said that she looks a girl from a rich family but her real personality is one kind of a guy (poor YeonSeo)

i won't be surprised if the wrap  up party will be them avoiding each other. Yeonseo usually takes funny selca with her Male leads so i can see these 2 are trying so hard to avoid any scandal.

i see some comments on Naver starts questioning "are you sure these two are

    not dating?"

    l

Exactly. Most of her male costars treat her as a guy and her female costars are clingy of her. Like Lee El now and Seyoung (Bu Ja). So its so weird for Seung Gi and her to be so unbelievingly civil? With all that chemistry? Maybe TVN is helping them? LOLOLOLOOL

Wow, this thread is on fire! I can't keep up, but still wanted to drop by for a few thoughts I'm curious about. Apologies if these things have already been discussed.

    1. Does Asa Nyeo's scene happen first or Sun Mi's?

First, Asa Nyeo has three pedestal's with three items, and the sky appears to be overcast/cloudy.

Then we see Asa Nyeo with only one pedestal with the long dagger. The shadows cast by the sun are fairly slanted, but which way is east and which way west? Hard to tell if this is morning or afternoon.

      Reveal hidden contents

Then we see Sun Mi's confronting Kang Dae Sung, and the shadows are much straighter, indicating that the time is closer to noon.

However, Kang Dae Sung has been standing in the exact same position this whole time. Maybe the differing shadows where just an unavoidable mistake due to filming schedule...

Blood appears to be shed in both Sun Mi and Asa Nyeo's scenes (Asa Nyeo ritually, and then during Sun Mi and Kang Dae Sung's struggle), but at the start of both of their scenes the blade seems free of blood. If Asa Nyeo went first, what happens to her blood?

Even more curious, if Asa Nyeo's scene takes places first where has she disappeared to in Sun Mi's scene, and vice versa if Sun Mi's scene takes place first?

    2. Sun Mi obviously gets hurt somehow, since she is coughing up blood, but did Kang Dae Sung get stabbed first?

When Sun Mi tries to slice her hand with the dagger, Kang Dae Sung tries to stop her, and next blood flies, but that is his shoulder and mouth that we see, not Sun Mi's.

    3. Oh Gong's sword transforms!?

This is the Sword of Sam Jang as shown in the episode when Oh Gong first got it. We can see the maroon tsuka-ito (the threads wrapped around the hilt) as well as the habaki (sword collar) with a design of Japanese/Korean red pine tree branches. -A habaki prevents a katana from falling out of its sheath.-

That same design is seen in this still of Oh Gong:

      Hide contents

But in these stills and the preview the design has changed. Note, the pine habaki has disappeared, and the tsuba (handguard) has changed from a somewhat more common -If I understand correctly.- Japanese design of two rings to a rarer kiku-gata (chrysanthemum shape), though in this case maybe it is supposed to be reminiscent of a lotus root or flower as seen from below...?

      Hide contents

I don't think that these are two different weapons given that the tsuka-ito are still the same color, so what could trigger the transformation?

It is interesting to note, looking at those stills, that the GGG is still on Oh Gong's wrist after the sword has transformed.

    What do you all think?

    ----

Also, I'm super glad that things are going to take a serious turn in episode 19, because that means we will have more time over two episodes to do the climax justice, and there is hope for a good number of minutes at the end of episode 20 to show us the (fingers crossed) happy lives of the protagonists after the evil has been vanquished.

Maybe the sword changed into from something that is intended to kill to something that is intended to save. I hope so
