  1. A funny thought, can you guys imagine if the OTP in this drama is SN and TT?It would probably only took them like 15-20 episodes to finish up the plots of the 51 episodes?
First of all we have to be prepared to watch a rather quiet drama. Because neither of them likes to raise their voice. And most of the time they communicate through glances, little nods and tiny smiles anyway. Though maybe we can hope for a few winks since they would be lovers?
Whenever a problem arise they would regroup for a one-on-one brainstorming session in their secret meeting place. No eunuchs, no guards, no extra ears to spill their strategy to the bad guys.
They would probably just need to flip a coin to decide how to finish up certain bad guys. Head = brain, tail = brawl. We are going to win either way because we are THAT badass.
The worst misunderstanding would most likely be, "Nyangie, how many times do I have to tell you. If I glance to the right, you let me finish talking before you start slashing them."
    =)) Anybody wanna add anything?
edit:Oh and after each bloodbath they would sit on the gazebo. Sipping tea and throwing compliments at each other  :))

And to these people who said that SN loves the emperor you are wrong .. she loves the king but she care about the emperor .. go check the love line pic on emperss ki website .. it will tell you that the king is the main actor and that he is her only love ..

  4. rinchan76 said:Anyways I wish I could see more of how TH digest Maha's paternity, he didn't even get a chance to (however after talking to Cruella, I guess he would understand SN more...maybe. Since now he knows her complete motive for returning), because he went into instant damage control mode. If he hadn't killed DK at that time SN would definitely die. I am glad that, at least from what it appears like, TH still loves her, and is not obscenely angry over the truth. I also understand, why he went on his little killing spree too. Although I feel WY is trustworthy, for TH, anyone who knows of this info is a threat to SN. After all it was while WY was talking to his men that Cruella found out about Maha's paternity. Enemies are around every corner and it is hard to know half the time who, or where they are. Although WY would never deliberately reveal something, there is still a possibility he may unintentionally do so. Despite his attempt to patch up all the hole/ potential holes in regard to keeping the secret, the rest of WY's men know. I know TH doesn't know that but still it is an oversight on the writers part, I feel like they were just looking for a justifiable reason for TH to kill WY, like in the novel, without appearing to be such a bad guy.
*sigh* but it seemed till the end the writers wouldn't let WY have a happy life. He died a hero, albeit a tragic hero, protecting SN with all he had. It irked me a bit that even though TH knew he would kill WY he gave him back the throne, but WY did save his life (oh the irony) so TH repaid him by giving him back his throne. For TH, WY saving him, and TH saving SN are two different things, and @sally_b you guessed right when WY heard it was to protect SN, he basically gave in. At least now he can be with his son in the afterlife.

  5. If we can go by the preview...which sadly usually we can't LOLI would say that TH seems to be more in damage control mode rather than jealous rage.I mean, really, the juiciest line from his long overdue confrontation with WY is "SN will die if you don't die"?Like, precisely which episode of the previous 49 did SN NOT in danger of being dead? :DHow is that supposed to reel us into watching the episode more than, let's say, "I will kill you because you impregnated my Nyangie?" :-??

  6. tessieroo said:It crossed my mind that one of the main reason TH will be furious about Maha (beyond the jealousy issue) is he might think Ki planned it all along. (ie-had a baby w/the Goryeo King, brought him into the Palace to make him Emperor thereby giving Goryeo more power) OR worse - he'll think Ki and WY planned the whole thing! (They conspired to plant Maha in the Palace and make him Emperor thereby giving Goryeo more power) Ugh, things might get uglier. :-S

If maturity means not having any insecurities or at least being able to hide them then Ta Hwan is not mature because he still coping with them. I disagree that Ta Hwan has not grown. Ta Hwan has changed a lot from the unconditional lovestruck puppy for Seung Nyang.  A few episodes back after the governors ask for WY’s release and their confrontation afterwards, he asked how she got the backing of the governors and she replied it was WY that helped her fund it. He said you did not believe in me and told her her to get out. He actually stood up for himself where the old Ta Hwan would have just taken it. He also surprised SY when she gave him the ultimatum of her or Baekhan and he said both or neither.
He has tried to become more independent, unfortunately being saddled with an addiction to alcohol, being drugged and lunacy, as well trusting the wrong people around him, his attempts have been severely hampered. I would not call it immature for trying. In fact I think he’s gone far from immature to sadly a more darker, scarred person. His reactions to situations considering the condition he is understandable in a sense. This is not an excuse for his behaviour but part of the makeup of his character currently. Maybe he’s not worth your time, that is fine. Then there is no need to discuss him any further. As for me, I still have hope for his character and am rooting for him to work through his demons whether brought on by himself or others. I’m not willing to give up on him nor his relationship with Seung Nyang and the love they have for each other. Ta Hwan is what is keeping my interest going in this drama and I understand that may not be your reason.

  8. Seeing how the writers just looove to endanger our health with all the previous cliffhangers, I guess we should prepare ourselves just in case they couldn't resist to give us one last one...the ultimate cliffhanger...the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers before the last episode? The thought of it is already giving me heartburns...X_X

  9. Since I am in silver lining mode (pretty sure am gonna be in this state until this drama ends LOL), am just glad that the TH in the drama is not as irredeemable as in the novel...ie. not sending Maha to kill WY (...fingers crossed this also means he won't be killing WY till the end?) and lord knows what else is written in that scary novel...never gonna be on my reading list, that book, for sure!
Also happy that the SN we are watching now is equipped with an actual working moral compass and firmly sticking to her choices of man and country  :-bd
Unfortunately these changes are not without a price and WY is the character paying for most of it...

  10. I agree with @bellenelle I think this drama is good and the writing is above average. Heck, I'll even throw a few extra points for the unpredictable plots that left me feeling like somebody pulled the rug from under my feet pretty much every week :-SS
I've been watching K-drama for well over 10 years. And as the result my attention span is getting shorter and shorter. These days not many dramas can catch my attention from the first episode to the last.More often than not I dropped a drama after a few episodes because it just felt like something I've seen plenty of time before or I just knew that it's gonna be a train wreck. Most importantly, I have no patience for lazy writing.
To me a good drama is one that is well written, well acted and well made.Watching it from start to finish should feel like reading a complete story. It doesn't really matter if the story goes the way I want it to be or not.
So for me it says something that I'm still waiting for the 46th episode of this drama.Just my 2 cents  :\">

  11. bellenelle said:Oh thanks! I watched Giant too, and History of a Salaryman, and half of Incarnation of Money, and what I see is a downward trend (in order of appearance haha). Giant was pretty good, history of a salaryman was fun but not all coherent, and incarnation of money was a flop (in my own opinion, of course). Not really useful to help me predict anything, because Giant's ending was good but bittersweet, History of a Salaryman was more on the "crappy but happy" end of the spectrum, and  I don't even know about the other but I'm guessing it was the same lol I guess I'll have to keep on watching, but at least it's good to know the writer's not obsessed with tear-gas endings!

I'm asking before investigating (cuz I'm so lazy haha) but anyone knows if the writers are the same ones that did QSD? Somehow I keep on finding similarities, and right now this post-ET downward trend of the show towards the bottom of a dark sinkhole sort of reminds me of QSD post-Mishil :/ I want to know in advance what to expect:

    1) a good (coherent) but sad ending?

    2) a crappy and sad ending?

    3) a good and happy ending?

    4) a crappy but happy ending?

One and three I  can take. 2 and 4 I can stop watching now.

@minnie0103 Thank you for the Text preview. Looks like we are in for a world of heartache. Expecting a lot of tears for the next episode.

I know everyone keeps saying SN needs to this/that for TH, but really, he needs to man up and stop being such a clingy king. I guess since this is what he was like in the novel he would be like this here as well.

He's so blinded by his own jealousy, insecurities that he doesn't dare to face anything. Choosing to hide instead. I get the feeling the only way SN can prove her love to him is if she kills WY. Else nothing she says or do will alleviate his fears.

  14. I must be crazy, because right now am actually super excited to see what the writers are cooking up next LOL
It's one thing to create your own story from start to finish. But molding not one, but two existing ones along with your own "spice" into an acceptable version of the same sequence of events...I would say that is a whole different kind of beast to conquer.
I'm rather curious to know how they will weave the remaining plots to fit the tone of this drama. Because to me the history, the novel and the drama have always been like 3 completely different style of paintings of the same objects.

  15. I must say, so far I am very much impressed by the writers' ability to work with the plot/frames/limitations set by the history and the novel and build them into a story that better suit their style of writing.
So all this war thing is not even the point of this plotline, isn't it?It's just a means to an end...a reason to push TH to his addiction...along with that condemning letter?
I think the writers know very well where they are going with the storyline. And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy watching this drama to the very last episode.Bring it on!!

  16. Well I guess for better or worse, the writers have managed to keep things interesting...and us on our poor dainty toes for another week LOL
I, for one, have decided yesterday that I should probably stop trying to figure out all the mysteries and where things are headed before my brain overheats and explodes :-SSSo for the rest of this drama am just going to enjoy the ride and see if things are gonna turn out all kinds of awesome or be epic fail :))
Now if you all excuse me, I need to lie down and listen to some sound of the sea recording and be zen for the rest of this week...
