LEE Yoo-young Sees the Dead in GEU-NOM-I-DA

According to her agency, rising star LEE Yoo-young has confirmed to participate in Geu-nom-i-da (working title) on January 30th. JOO Won and YOO Hae-jin have already signed up for the film prior to LEE’s signing.
In Geu-nom-i-da, a man goes in search of the murderer who took the life of his younger sister. JOO Won will take the lead role of the man that goes on the hunt for revenge, while YOO will play the antagonist. LEE, who just finished filming MIN Kyu-dong’s Gan-shin (working title) in December, will join to play a woman who can see the dead.
LEE is relatively new to the film industry, following her debut in Late Spring, just last year. She played a hard working young mother who had trouble making ends meet. Her daring role, which also involved full nudity as she became a muse for a famous artist, was positively received by many for her boldness but also for her mature acting. Official recognition came to her soon after, as she received Best Actress Award from Milan International Film Festival. Most recently, she added a trophy to her collection when she picked up the Best New Actress Award from Kofra Film Awards.
YOO Hae-jin was also recognized at the Kofra Film Awards with the Best Supporting Actor title for his role in The Pirates. YOO had consistently incarnated witty and memorable characters throughout his filmography. There are high expectations for YOO as he will be taking on a bigger character through his new role in Geu-nom-i-da.
JOO Won is also expanding his list of credits after becoming more recognized through a TV reality show called 1 Night 2 Days. His last film was a webtoon based comedic drama, Fashion King.
Geu-nom-i-da will be directed by newcomer YOON Joon-hyung. Shooting will begin in March

He said,"The title is 'Innocente' and it expresses Cha Yoo Jin's feelings", "I feel very comfortable recording the song. In the drama, Joo Won plays the part of a conductor. He comes out wearing a suit that can look a bit plain but with his individual styling, he creates the perfect suit look that women love. In addition, outside of conducting, he rocks the ‘good looking boyfriend look’ with a more casual outfit.
Episode five of the drama sees Joo Won wearing a slim-fit suit that outlines his tall and lean figure. He wore the Mvio classic single two-button black suit paired with a basic white shirt. Joo Woo matched a black tie with the outfit for a classic and stylish black suit look. Just by changing the color of the shirt under the suit can give a whole new style.
Instead of a suit, Joo Won also showed a ‘boyfriend look’ in episode 9. He wore a camouflage patterned jacket matched with the signature dandy item, the turtleneck. Fashion King Opening Weekend: A Mixed Bag
Well, there is good news and bad news for the premiere weekend of webtoon-adapted comedy movie Fashion King. The good news is that Joo Won once again proves that he is not only a solid actor but also has box-office power. The bad news comes from audiences reviews, which have not been kind to the movie.
Fashion King made it to the big screen with much anticipation, chiefly surrounding its casts. Joo Won is arguably one of the hottest actors right know, and should he successfully pull off his portrayal of Woo Ki-myung – a fashion terrorist turn a fashion king — it may cement his status as one the most versatile actor in showbiz as well. The movie is of course also the first acting appearance for f(x) member Sulli since her dramatic hiatus back in July. People are wandering whether Fashion King screening might just be her comeback moment. So, Fashion King has a lot going for it.
Such anticipation has proven fruitful commercially for the movie. Fashion King has already raked in a total of more than 2.5 million KRW in its first four days of screening. With over 300,000 in attendance, the movie only trails in attendees to Hollywood blockbuster Interstellar. The movie is especially popular among teen and young adult audiences.
Audience reviews for the movie, however, are polarizing to say the least. While many audiences did indeed enjoy the movie’s hilarity, some are criticizing the movie because it’s more on the boring side. It seems that those who love the original webtoon are more inclined to enjoy the movie as well. Netizens have rated it on average 6.2 out of 10.
Meanwhile, movie critics have praised Joo Won for his great portrayal of Woo Ki-myung. They believe that Joo Won is probably one of the best method actors currently in the business. His immersion in his role has brought Woo Ki-myung to life and has made him the standout character, especially in contrast to the rather harsh criticism of Ahn Jae-hyun and Sulli’s acting. Critics have also pointed out the movie for its weakness in story line. One of the criticisms is that the movie seems to be unable to balance the gag humor and the emotional side of the story.
The general consensus, though, is that Fashion King is a movie that should be enjoyed lightly and loosely. The movie is still fun and hilarious by its own right if you love an underdog movie and fashion.
