The phenomenon of K-Pop was always something I was very mildly exposed to but had honestly just brushed off as being a genre there was too much to get involved with. 2011 saw a shift in my attitude, particularly with friends around me obsessing over a multitude of K-Pop acts. I began listening to the likes of T-ARA, 2NE1, 4 Minute and of course the Wonder Girls after some minor manipulation from a few of my dearest mates. Whilst their debut album “The Wonder Years” left me a little cold (bar the excellent “Nobody”), the follow-up has me pleasantly surprised with its non-stop assault of pop corkers and debonair production from Park Jin-Young, who is basically Korea’s answer to Xenomania/Stock, Aitken & Waterman.The Xenomania comparisons are particularly founded when listening to incredible first single from Wonder World “Be My Baby”, a grandiloquent and at times complicated production that does real justice in bridging that sound heard on “Nobody” from the first album and all of the material on offer for the sophomore. The key change is – predictably – thrilling beyond compare and sets the bar high quite early on in the albums proceedings. Club fluff like frenetic opener “G.N.O.” may supply Wonder World with its weakest point but that’s not to say it isn’t any good; there’s just a lot better on offer here such as the Steps-homaging “Sweet Dreams”, or the classic and shimmering “Girls, Girls.” The shiny-rock-edge of “Me, In” reaches an exciting climax once Yubin’s rap enters Stage Right, and the bizarrely brilliant “SuperB” is the most experimental the production on Wonder World gets. But it’s the straight-forwardness of songs like album diamonds “Stop!” and “Nu Shoes” that eat up all of the proverbial cake, the former being so incredible it would be ridiculous for it not to be the first single from their 2012-due English-only album – as far as any of their material goes, “Stop!” is the primary one with MASSIVE HIT written all over it.
Of all the K-Pop albums I’ve listened to this year it was Wonder World that really struck a chord with me the most. Park Jin-Young has many K-Pop acts under his belt but it’s the Wonder Girls who not only have the most broad and Internationally viable appeal, they also have all the makings to be Korea’s answer to Girls Aloud. Everything from the way the girls are marketed, to the way they record and the way Jin-Young produces; there’s something simultaenously familiar but incredibly exhilarating about the way things sound on this record.
K-Pop’s not going anywhere in 2012. In fact, watch it make a more prominent mark on Western pop culture than ever before as the New Year unfolds.

The Wonder Girls are finally free to date! First officially available idols

The Wonder Girls reveal they are now allowed to date freely.
The girls made a guest appearance on KBS ‘Entertainment Report’ on the 12th and spoke about their feelings on their comeback. Sohee spoke, “It’s our first official promo in over a year. My heart flutters just thinking about meeting the fans”.
When asked if there were any big changes on this promo, “The ‘No dating’ rule has finally been lifted. We can now start dating” and everyone seemed pleased.
Reporter Kim Tae Jin was even happier than the Wonder Girls as he shouted, “The Wonder Girls can now date!” and he made the girls burst into laughter.
They were also asked if they had any problems with the ‘No dating’ rule in the past and the girls answered they never had a problem with it.
Yeeun added, “If we can’t go out find dates ourselves, he (Park Jin Young) said he would set us up on dates himself” and Sunye said, “Park Jin Young is very proactive person”.
The members also revealed that Hyerim was the most excited to come back to Korea, because this is only her 2nd promotion in there. Hyerim also showed that she wasn’t all looks and no skills, by showing off her rapping skills.
Hyerim sang a part of ‘Art Cool’, which is her solo song and gave a little scare to Yubin.

November 7th is album realease but i found it’s weird in their teaser videos there’s no info about that.

) anyway, i automatically loved the 2nd teaser! the music is awesome, especially the first 23 seconds XD. hope this is will be ’Be My Baby’ remix version.overall, i like both teasers. i believe, the 1st teaser was for the attention grabber, and it did work really well. can’t wait for Nov 7th! i want to se Jonte’s choreography too =D

I think tomorrow teaser will be the real MV teaser for their title track. the first teaser maybe just an album intro or i hope another song in the album.
Be My Baby could be the title song. TheProphetBlog said the girls perform this song in their upcoming movie.
about this tracklist album, i hope this is not the complete list. i want 12 songs in the album at least >_<

Yeeun's soul voice at the beginning was awesome! All the girls look so fierce!! Sohee should let her hair down, i'm still loving it tho. Sunye and the mic was epic! Yubin and her metal style hair flip was perfect! XD then i like Lim kicking toward the camera!

thank you very much!Just mt thought, could the song in this teaser is just an intro? JYP's MV teasers were often different from the real MV. Remember Miss A's 'Goodbye Baby' and 'Nobody's teasers? totally different from their real MV.
There are five times of 'RIGHT NOW'. i think that's still Yeeun's voice. and the last two i heard Lim's voice too.
can't wait for the next teaser!

regarding Sunye's hair, at first i was like ...err. then it was growing on me, then i like it now! it's unique, different and makes her stand out tbh. this is coming from a Sunye fan btw. hope we can get along again before the girls comeback. they need us seriously.

as far as i remember, the girls didn’t win anything at MAMA 2010. International artist award was given to Far East Movement.
MAMA 2011 will be held on November 29th and the girls’s comeback is on November 7th, they will have something new to perform with. there’s still a change for them to participate at this event.
i hope they will participate too at Melon Award 2011, is on November 24th. the girls’ winning something at award shows is like a cherry on top for me, all i want to see is their special stage performance
