  1. @yuuqiikeke: thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it. While I can't say I love anything heart-breaking or tragic, I do enjoy a well written tear-jerker. I don't think your heart is hardened though. Sometimes you just need a very specific story that speaks to your personal experience and draw out emotions from the depth of your heart. For me, most of the dramas nowadays are repetitive so I hardly shed any tears over them; now I only get teary for stories that I can actually relate to.

  2. @M Fritz: Wiki is very strict about enforcing copyright, they require you to upload pictures on their serves and fill in all the questions concerning legal ownership or copyright. So we either have to take a photo of CJH ourselves or get a permission to use one of his promotional photographs, otherwise, it's impossible. I almost fried my brain trying to upload a picture on Wikipedia OTL

I think there are tricks to get around this but I don't know how.

  3. @GHSforever: unfortunately, I'm with on you this. He was singing off-key, just like that time on the radio. I think a song with lower pitch would benefit his husky voice and vocal range :\

@JAYwalkers: Yeah, I had assumed Sakura would end up with Tachibana since they actually felt more compatible, but welp I guess the writer was determined to get her together with Haruma. Naohito Fujiki has massive list of projects (which I wish had been the same for CJH), I could recommend a few ones: Love Revolution (one of my favorites), Proposal Daisakusen (the original version of Yoo Seung Ho's "Love Operation"), Antique Bakery, Hotaru no Hikari (really cute and entertaining). For movie, I've only watched G@ME, it's alright.

We were discussing "Pasta" a few pages back lol. I also liked everything about it, save for few moments when the lead girl was being extremely timid :\

Someone called the Italian line "Idol line" lol, probably because they're all handsome and 2 of them are actual idol irl. He did well in that one, it's a shame that he didn't get much spotlight like No Min Woo.

  4. @Mishielle: I don't mind at all. I have to thank you for sharing my MVs with other fans instead :) hmmm, I guess a twitter could be fun, but tbh, I'm really lazy when it comes to social media. I tried everything but deserted most of them after a while lol

btw the link didn't work for me D:

@cjc52006 Panda and Hedgehog is a mini mediocre pseudo makjang but also a breezy rom com. The good thing about it is that it has a group of fairly likable characters. Their antics made me smile, and yeah CJH was really cute in there too. I also appreciate the fact that nobody sabotaged anyone for romance. CJH's character was adorkable, and he had good chemistry with Donghae and the actress who played his half-sister. She was also in It's okay daddy girl. IMO, she's a good actress, pretty and somewhat tomboyish. I like that.

@yuuqiikeke The Myth drama is a drag. For me, it got rather long-winded towards the end. I only watched it for Hu Ge.

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2mT0PmLGaOw

Thank you. I'm glad you guys liked "Fox Rain".

Here is the 3rd WRxSH fanvid with Endless Love (The Myth OST). That song just made everything 10 times sadder. Now I feel like a sadist. I chose the wrong format for the clip so it looks a little funky on youtube's screen. It should be alright if you watch it on 720pHD option.

@yuuqiikeke it was probably me. I posted the first vid in the drama thread a few days after episode 21. It mainly featured cut scenes from 21, which is my favorite episode to watch/work with <3

@JAYwalkers there are some yummy photos I haven't seen before. Thank for posting them. BTW, I've just finished Last Cinderella. IMO, Haruma had no chemistry with the lead actress. I still don't buy them as a couple :\ . I also remember watching Around 40 but somehow can't remember how it ended.

@M Fritz: I'm happy to hear that because I tend to spend a ridiculous amount of time on fixing transitions and making them match with the beat of the soundtrack. It's time-consuming but also fun.

  6. Hi guys. I've come back with a new fanvid--"Fox Rain" by Lee Sun Hee. I think it's quite an apt soundtrack for WR and SH too. I had to cut the song short and only focused on their light-hearted moments since I planned to save the tragic turns for the next vid (which I'm working on at the moment)

I hope you guys will enjoy it.

  7. http://www.soompi.com/2013/06/28/could-kim-soo-hyun-play-dark-wol-ryung-in-gu-family-book/

    Have you guys read that?

I think whoever came up with that poll is a dumb a ss. What's the point of it when the drama has ended. Besides, CJH's performance was excellent, why did they talk about it in the tone that "XYZ could have done better." I like all of the actors they've mentioned there, but sorry, WR is CJH to keep. I can never imagine anyone else as WR beside CJH.

Kim So Hyun will look better with LYH and YSA? Pleaeeese, they'll look like a noona-dongsaeng couple.

  8. @yuuqiikeke I think the word you were looking for is fantasy. Supernatural works too.

@anannanann: I dropped "Snow Queen" and "That Winter" both after the first 3-4 episodes. They had beautiful cinematography and seemed like decent dramas. However, I just can't get into them as melodramas go. But from what I saw, SHK did well in "That Winter." I also heard a lot of good feedbacks for "Worlds Within" so I might pick it up some time.

@pandora460: I've just read your opinion on LSG's thread. When it comes to GFB, I also unapologetically consider WR's arc as the main story, the rest is just bonuses.

I really do like LSG in Brave Hearts, he's cute, charming and funny as a MC. But I've never been attracted to him as an actor, I found his acting ranging from mediocre to fairly alright--I'm not impressed with him both in GFB and MGFIAG. I haven't watched K2H so I won't say anything about it.

On Suzy, I think her acting is mediocre at best, but the same as LSG, I found her neither annoying or unwatchable. I actually liked her in "Dream High". Having said so, I agree with you her underperformance is one of the reason I couldn't care for the main pairing. And honestly, even though YW appears as a refreshing female character, at its core, I always see her as an overtly anti-formula one. She had many characteristics that were the opposite of a typical kdrama heroine, such as timidity or noble idiocy. But it was written in a rather inorganic fashion, giving her no depth and development. Still, a better actress could have pull it off and makes it work.

Let's be honest, WR is not a new type of character, not for me, neither is his tragedy. But CJH took what he was given, did it with skill, charisma and conviction. The fact that he is pleasant on the eyes also a great boost to the charm effect. He basically got me at his first scene ( I was mentally cooing, Ohhhh hello, what's your name? I haven't seen you before lol). So I still fell for his WR, and I let myself robbed into his romance with SH. Suzy has a sweet face, it's a pity her acting level is far from enough to bring YW into life.

  9. @GHSforever: I'm curious, from what age one is considered an ahjumma? Anyway, I'm well into my late 20s so I might probably belong to the older demographic as well. And it shows through my gravitation from flower boys to a more masculine, mature-looking type of man. While I think CJH could charm both the young and old viewers, he is quite different from my previous actor crushes such as Jang Geun Seok and Lee Min Hoo. I still like looking at pretty faces but they don't give me the butterflies anymore.

@yuuqiiikeke: oh I died laughing everytime I saw a photo of him doing the manner legs.

@annannanann: "Secret Garden" was really fun and exciting in the beginning, but yeah, its ending left a lot to desire.
I love Hyunbin. I watched "Kim Sam Soon", "Ireland" and "Millionaire's first love" for him. Still haven't watched "World Within" mainly because I really don't find SHK's acting appealing.

  10. So I'm using GG translation to understand what's written in the article. It's quite interesting, as far as I'm concerned, they were doing a research on the type of male characters that female audience of kdrama are attracted to. Choi Jin Hyuk was said to get overwhelming support from the young audience (early 20s) for his portray of Wol Ryung. On the other hand, Lee Jong Sook has attracted the noona fans (30s) with his role of Park Soo Ha. I think the article also mentioned something about they (the characters) are both loyal to their first love, but CJH has a more matured/masculine and sexy image while LJS has a boyish charm.

    ------------

I've just realized the wirter for "Heirs" is the same one who wrote "Lovers in Paris" and "Secret Garden" both of which were my favorites. Although I think she tends to run off steam by the finale, the romance in her story is mostly refreshing and engaging, I also enjoy the humor in those dramas. Hopefully, "Heirs" is going to come out better than we hope for (oh man I let myself be hopeful now).

I hope CJH and LMH are gonna have some fun and cute kind of brotherly bickering like that of Oska and Joo Won in "Secret Garden".

  11. Thank you Kyung Lim, I know I'd love CJH actor more than CJH singer lol

I've just read that last article on Soompi's main page. He sounds like a sweet person irl.
I'm glad for both him and his mom (Made me miss my mom so much. I haven't been home for almost 3 years)

  12. I think I'll do some WR pic spam since we all miss him.

@Mishiellie: I shall patiently wait for your gif sets. As for the ending, I'm gonna copy paste what I wrote on Tumblr

Yeo Wool died from a gun shot wound (I think Minion shot her by accident, or out of the lack of skill). Kang Chi vowed that he would wait for her to be reborn. So he gave up on becoming full human and flash back to the modern time, he was now a young Bruce Wayne, living in a luxurious complex, immersed in a contemporary bubble bath. We saw that he’s met with some reincarnations of his past friends and family, save for his one true love. They finally met again, but she didn’t have any recollection of her past life. Hm, well, maybe a little tiny bitty bit, but that’s beside the point.

The writer then tried really hard to underline the fact that “their frozen time has now started flowing again”, by making everyone stay exactly the same. The past-life servants in the Inn are now the employees or service staff in his building/hotel, Ma Bong Chul is still a bully, and a street gangster on top, Yeo Wool got to keep her name, and they also met under the SAME damn peach tree from their last ill-fated meeting. I almost rolled my eyes out of their sockets. It’s a direct insult to my intellect and sensibility as a kdrama viewer >:B

  13. @anannanann: exactly, I had the same thought. And the cops even scoffed at the idea that he might take revenge on the people who put him in jail, really?! Those are just nonsensical yet convenient plot fodders. I think I'll check out the drama thread and see if I could contribute some thoughts to it. Hopefully, people won't be fed up with my presence, I know some dislike me in GFB thread because I always complained more than giving praises (unless it comes to WR xD). It spoiled their positive environment and happy experience, they claimed lol.

@sanghyuk: the shorts is an acquired taste indeed.

@M Fritz: I love his smile, it lights up his whole face (his sombre expression has its own charm though).

    tumblr_moz40nnwrU1srxqt4o1_1280.jpg

  14. @emann: yeah, at least CJH got rapt attention from his role as WR and instantly invited to "Heirs". I hope he'll get a refreshing character other than the typical chaebol type. I didn't watch K2H so I couldn't say anything about that.

@annannanann: I'm watching "I hear your voice" too. I like it but I'm not compelled enough to join the discussion thread. I might be in the future if it picks up pace though. Nowadays I just watch almost everything with an emotional detachment. Sometimes I play a drama as background noises while working on something else xD.

BTW, I watched "Psychometry" with Vietnamese sub. The storyline is alright, the movie is neither thrilling or scary, but Kim Bum is pretty to look at. Besides, that movie will look good on his resume. It's also smart of him to play a tormented hero with supernatural ability. That kind of characters are most often welcomed by the audience.

    ------------------

Does anyone know if "Heirs" is gonna be a rom-com or a melodrama? I had the impression that it was the latter, but most articles said it was a rom-com.

  15. Here is the link to Choi Jin Hyuk's High Cut behind the scene. His shorts were seriously distracting. I had mixed feelings because, welp, I'm not usually fond of man shorts, but his radiant smile melted me into a puddle of goo.

    http://www.highcut.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=behind_cut&wr_id=3060

EDIT: the ending of GFB was terrible. The only good thing I got out of watching that drama is that I got to know CJH.

  16. Hmmm I love men in simple white shirt, he filled it out nicely.
Thanks for the radio cut, @annannanann <3
He's got a nice voice but I think he was off a few keys lol.
Well, doesn't really matter to me though since I'm not expecting him to sing like a formally trained singer.

  17. @Mishiellie: Thank you, and sorry for imposing.

The trick worked perfectly for me. I'm watching the show right now (and already a giggling mess from seeing CJH on screen. This drama will probably be the death of me OTL

I'm glad that you and @annannanann have been keeping this thread running, otherwise, I wouldn't know where to get my fill of CJH :\"> I've been out of touch with fandoms in general and only keep up with what are posted on Tumblr and here.

  18. @GHSforever: oh the drama thread is the homebase for SeungZy shippers indeed. It's just not about KC x YW but anything Seung Gi and Suzy too. It's actually not a bad thing. The thread is a fun place for discussion and debate, but if you don't care for the main pairing, you won't enjoy it much.

  19. @yuuqiikeke lol I also called him Gumiho papa when I gushed with my friend about him. I think it's cute... but I wouldn't want any outsiders to hear that. It just sounds like I was talking about my sugar daddy or so :|

@annannanann @Mishiellie ah sorry I must have missed out on that. I was worried because people often got complains for reposting in the drama thread. (Though I noticed that only the newcomers who posted CJH's stuff got that treatment lol)

@Mishiellie do you have a link for My daughter online? I'm fine with Chinese sub. I'm just gonna stare at him anyway lol

  20. Hi @M Fritz (I was startled by your previous avatar, which looked almost identical to annannanann's.)

I live on the southern east. So we're kinda close and yet still so far away lol.
I think CJH's version hasn't been released into single yet; when it is, it should be available for purchase on Yesasia. I'm not sure about retailers in the US  since I got most of my Asian-based items through international retailers such as Yesasia.
