Hmm, I'm not sure why you feel compelled to defend Ga-eul's character. If you felt that I was blaming her for her weaknesses, I think you've missed one of the points in my essay. My intention was to explain how one could see flashes of Yuuki in Ga-eul, not blaming her for her flaws -- which, to me, make her real and in some ways, solidify her role as a foil to Jan-di. I'm not really what it was in my essay that made you feel that I was blaming her for her flaws -- do you mind explaining to me how you reached that conclusion? (I'm asking this, because being the perfectionist I am

I GUESS I WAS JUST SCANNING THROUGH YOUR ESSAY AND JUST TOOK IT THE WRONG WAY. BUT I DO LIKE HER CHARACTER COMPARE THE OTHERS WHO PLAY THIS ROLE, I LIKE THE SASSINESS SHE HAS. AND YEAH I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO HER WHEN SHE DOES FALL FOR YI JEONG. -

Speculation: I remember news articles reporting that Ga-eul falls for Yi Jeong first, not the other way around. Plus, she has been described as a foil to Jan-di, and although we may not be seeing that stark contrast right now, I think the differences will be made clear as the show goes on. And don't quote me on this, but hasn't the official website said something about how she shocks everyone around her with a personality change after she does fall for him, nurturing her feelings of love towards him? If the scriptwriter does follow up on this, then my guess is that Yi Jeong will do something that will make Ga-eul change her mind about him. This "something," to my belief, is when he helps her get revenge against her ex. Now, a good question is brought up: "Why would she need Yi Jeong to get revenge on her ex? She's already spunky and sassy." Spunky and sassy when it comes to defending the best friend who saved her countless times against bullies and etc., even if it means going against the man she initially saw as ideal. But can she reproduce that same spunkiness in another, rather different, situation?
Ga-eul seems to be susceptible when it comes to love. We've seen a bit of her romanticism and idealism in Jan-di's dream with the fortune teller, and we'll be seeing it in Episode 6 when she tells So Yi Jeong that soulmates -- your one true love -- definitely exist, and how she wouldn't give up on the chance to go after her soulmate because missing the opportunity to grab onto that chance would only result in a lifelong regret. Foreshadowing, anyone? It's the perfect opening to gradually lead into the manga storyline in which Yuuki has a boyfriend whom she really wants their relationship to work out, only to find out he's a cheater. Yuuki, unable to stand up to herself, falls into misery -- until Soujiro gives her a hand, encouraging to get revenge. Yuuki falls for Soujiro, and pursues him -- and in the pursuit, matures, becomes a stronger person for it. In the end, she settles for what she can get, with no more illusions about love, and becomes as sophisticated as they come, but better. Ga-eul seems to be idealistic and a romantic in matters of love to the extent that she could very well be gullible and misled by her first boyfriend. I can see Yuuki poking out of Ga-eul were they to follow this story arc. In her pursuit for Yi Jeong, she could undergo a similar character development (not exactly the same, since she and Yuuki aren't the same person)...except there's a strong probability she and Yi Jeong may end up as a couple. (No complaints, there.)
So yes, that's my entire reason(s) for keeping my faith in Boys Before Flowers that they'll produce a satisfactory Yi Jeong/Ga-eul storyline that'll combine the best of the three: the original manga, the other two adaptations, and Group 8's own innovative twists.

BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT EVEN TOUGH GIRLS CAN GO WEAK TO WHEN IT COMES TO BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP[OR YOU CAN CALL IT WHIPPED OR WHATEVER] YEAH SHE'S SASSY AND STANDS UP FOR HER FRIENDS, BUT SHE TOO, LIKE MOST GIRLS WANTS TO EXPERIENCE LOVE OR WANTS TO BE LOVE. SO WHEN FINDING LOVE GIRLS DO BECOME DIFFERENT, TRUST ME WE ALL WENT THROUGH THIS, I CAN'T REALLY EXPLAIN IT, BUT YOU GIRLS SHOULD KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. ^^'

OMG! so many bad reviews but i actually really like it! the book was really good. but yeah i actually like the movie, i don't mind going to watch it again at the theaters. great job, it's confirm already for New Moon! can't wait!!!!!

question... i'm from southern cali, and there is like a HUGE wild fire in Diamond Bar where tiff's family lives. a bunch of my friends that lives in Diamond Bar got evacuated. i hope her family's house is ok, and that she is aware of what's going on. T-T its so dark outside cuz of the thick smoke and ash! >.<

LOL....... taeyeon is supper dupper cute! such a fangirl, looking so happy while Rain is signning his CD for her. hahaha rain finially made it to chin chin!!!! i still can't stop laughing at them a couple of days ago crashing the other radio show cuz Rain was in there. taeyeon is too cute! she finally gets to meet Rain! and perf right after him too on Mnet!!! awesome!

I just callled the Garden Grove Korean times about the 2008 HB DVD, and they told me that they don't have the information on the dvd yet, but to check back later or something.
But they did say that they'll have it October 1st, i think. The lady I talked to wasn't really sure. And I don't know if it will be free or it will cost $10.
Garden Grove is close to my home, but I think i'll just go to the LA Korean festival to get the free DVD this weekend or something.
edit: oh and if you go to the booth at the festival... do you think you can get more than 1 dvd? Because i'm thinking about getting like 3 copies, 1 for myself, and 2 for my friends.
before you go the the LA korea times call them first, you don't want to waist your time driving all the way up there. but i got last years DVD for free at the OC korean festival. the guy just gave it to me when i said that i went to the concert. i was even willing to pay, so yeah... my cousin is probably going to do that this year, but i can't wait to i ordered mine already. but yeah about that i got like 3 copies from the guy, but i brought my cousins with me to show him that they wanted the dvd too, and he just handed the dvds to me. hope you can get yours. ^^

i doubt it, the HB 07 dvd i got last year didn't come with eng. subs.
so yeah i highly dooubt it will have eng subs for this one, but i could be wrong. ^^

Tiffany really looks pretty in the show. she's too cute in there! omg! i'm so in love with shing dong wook and he was helping her up in the jeep, so sweet of him and gosh! wish he got partner up w/ tiff too. >.< but tim is cool too, they can at least speak english to each other! lol...

OK I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A RUI&MAKINO SHIPPER. BUT THIS DRAMA I AM SO GOO JOON PYO ALL THE WAY, IT JUST BREAKS MY HEART EVERYTIME I SEE HIS REACTIONS TOWARDS JANDI. LEE MINHO PLAYS HIM SO WELL, I MEAN THE OTHERS DID A GOOD JOB TOO, BUT JUST SOMETHING ABOUT JOON PYO. BESIDES THE HOTNESS, HE'S REALLY GOOD WITH HIS EXPRESSIONS. GOSH! I CAN'T WAIT 5 MORE DAYS! IT'S KILLING ME, I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT, I'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY ON MONDAYS. LOL.... SERIOUSLY.
