  1. Hi everyone. I didn't post for a long time but I always visit this thread....its my therapy.. I think the Filipino celeb was TJ Manotoc. He surely was a big fan of SHG during AIMH. It was during the time when it was being aired here that SHG was engaged? to LBH. Was she ever engaged or was it just a rumor. I know they dated but engaged?

I'm so curious about the Korean article too. Hope to see the translation soon. Anyone...pretty please...

Thanks, skylar! There's a wallie version, too, but I'm too shy to share it. I don't have mad Photoshop skillz like some peeps in this forum.

"Eversince I saw Bi in IJUKSA, I've been imagining him and SHK in a drama or movie that's not a comedy. I would really wanna see them trade acting chops in a more dramatic setting. Of course, that would mean more love scenes, too. hehe (but please, no tonsil-swapping like IJUKSA ep 8, just a couple of sweet and tender kisses would do"

HAHAHA!!! Tonsil Swapping!! I almost fell from my seat.

PS I still cant open megaupload. Can I watch the chili attack and the teasing at youtube? ty...HELP!!!

  3. I'd love it if SHK stays as she is. I even like it better if she's not so much oin the limelight. I think she lives a more peaceful life that way.

    Whatever.... I LIKE HER!!!!

I like all yur opinions too and the way you express yourselves. You use appropriate and kind words. That's why I ONLY STICK TO THIS FORUM. I always feel good after reading SHG's forum at soompi.

    Happy New Year everyone....

  4. Yes please I'm dying to see that Love Letter clip too.

I've been out for awhile and was the first thing I saw here was the singapore article on Bi and SHG.....

Re the critic of her movie, I think he was criticizing the director and writer rather than the actors..whatever, that is his opinion and ......I LOVE SHG AND WILL ROOT FOR HER ALWAYS. I really hope to see her in a light-feel-good drama soon. I don't like tear-jerkers...This world is full of animosities already. I think this is the reason why I like Fullhouse the most. (i'm not really into Korean dramas- though I've seen all of SHG's except soonpoon clinic and I hope to see it here in the phil too.)

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

  5. Hey everyone...I woke up so early and thought of updating myself on the opening day of My girl and I. It's nice that the 100th page of this forum coincides with the opening day of her debut movie. WAY TO GO SHG!

A Giant Leap for Song Hye-gyo?

Before going to see Song Hye-gyo’s first film “My Girl and I” released Thursday, I wondered why she decided to go for the big screen. After I watched the film, another question came to my mind: even after leaving TV behind, why did she revisit familiar ground in the role of a girl in love for the first time, a choice that may well put more demanding viewers off.

“I’m well aware of my limitations,” Song starts. “That’s why I wanted to make a getaway with something I’m well versed in. Frankly, my role requires no particular acting skill. But because I’m a newcomer to the big screen, I didn’t want to act poorly in my new career.” It is rare to hear a young actress in her early 20s to assess herself so critically.

The film is based on the hit novel “Crying Out Love in the Center of the World”, which sold more than 2.5 million copies in Japan. A sad love story of a boy and a girl in ninth grade in Japan was transformed into sweet puppy love between two eleventh graders in a coastal village on the southern Korean island of Geoje. Song stars as Soo-eun, a top student who is pretty and kind as well as brainy. The plot, where the heroine dies of an incurable disease, is the same as in the original Japanese version, but Song appears more lively and cheerful. The part is very much a patchwork of Eun-suh in 2000’s “Autumn Fairy Tale”, Su-yeon in “All In” of 2003 and Ji-eun in last year’s “Full House”: to call the role “something I’m well versed in” is about right.

By the time we were finishing our coffee, the outspoken actress again outpaced my expectations. “I was sick and tired of my roles. To be frank, I played much the same roles until I was cast as Su-yeon in ‘All In’. I was really bored, not to mention the audience. I had a slightly different part in ‘Sunshine of Love’ in 2004, but I concluded that my characters on TV will ultimately all be the same.”

So she decided to move on. Peers such as Kim Tae-hee, Son Ye-jin and Jeon Ji-hyun, who have had longer movie careers, played a part in her decision. This year, she carried dozens of screenplays on holiday. But between a desire for career change and a keen sense of her own range, she opted for “My Girl and I.”

Asked if the film community is prejudiced against TV actresses, she says, “I can’t please everyone.” Told she is beautiful, she replies, “I want to be an actress who can lose herself in her roles without caring how she looks.” She elaborates, “I am no standard beauty. I was most flattered to hear that I’m an actress who has many different faces depending on the makeup.”

The 24-year old starlet’s film career has just begun. Now she has made the jump, we are bound to see her change and mature in her next films. Listening to her articulate answers, I was curious to see what character she will show us next.

thanks fleur for those clips and p_baller..... you made the clips have more meaning and doubly enjoyable!

not surprising that everybody recognized SHK. her face was already familiar since AIMH. i think its the 1st k drama aired here and it was a hit. everybody were commenting how beautiful she is. she was known as Jenny(AIMH) and Jessie(FH). well, actually many were surprised that jenny and jessie were one and the same.

also, Guardian Angel and SPD were aired here before FH and now Hotelier and All In.

Very well said gemt. I'm filipino too. And right, this is SHG country. Even the kids know her. My friends from the province have SHG,s poster.

My niece who is a 2nd grader said during their science class, topic was "kinds of glasses- transpatent, translucent..etc" and the teacher asked who watched fullhouse (bec the house is almost all glass-my dreamhouse) and the class raised their hands and they sang the 3 bears song... cuties....
