This is my first post in this thread...I do like this drama..don't get me wrong, but it is so draggy. It had a chance to do something out of the ordinary but you have the same old Kdrama formula. MIL mean to DIL. Husband big mammas boy. Women of the older generation acting like they have been snorting testosterone instead of estrogen. I watched the raw and it is like yadda yadda yadda...same old same old. My family was german...I mean in a small community,,my dad married and irish woman and it was a scandal in 1946. My grandma was not nice to my mother and they lived in an upstairs apartment in the main house, so what did my dad do? Took her out of the house and bought his own telling granny to shove it. They were in love until she died at a young age....now that is what they need to do in this drama (not die of course). Forget the inlaws and move on. HW is not in love with SK he looks like he has a toothache in every scene with her. If this drama ends up with all the couples together then it was a big waste of time again. I can't believe korens of the younger generation don't have more spunk these days....I hope the last few episodes end up in a normal non martyr way...crossing my fingers

I gotta agree with some of the posts and I am not a negative Nelly. Watching it this morning and watching the real mom being so stupid and falling for all the shenanigans plus quite frankly the pure evilness going on is a bit of a turnoff. At least if her mother figured things out it would get the story moving. IH is being played like some silly naive girl and I guess I just don't buy it. The writers need to up their game or people won't tune in. I'll keep going but won't get up early to watch it if it continues the same.

Could someone tell us what was happening at the end with the brothers and the running around and crying? In some ways I will be glad when it is over ....waiting for the subs is slight torture...

I really like this drama...but it doesn't have that WOW effect I guess that is needed. I check for posts all the time. I am of little help because of no Korean.I was wondering if someone could tell us if GN wants to adopt the little boy...also what was the reason YH jumped on GN back at the end?

So did the in laws spill the beans about the pregnancy? If so was it their intent to cause problems?

Gwi Nam is not exactly mad. He doesn't want his pregnant wife to work. So he was asking her to quit her job but she keeps insisting that she will be okay and will be careful. But he opposes her working in a unsuitable enviromment for a pregnant woman. That;s what they were arguing about.

Let's me join you guys, haha, I'm in love with this drama. I've been a fan of weekend drama since a long time and this drama just make me attached to the TV
I love YS/JY couple too, looking forward to the process of their romance. xD
I'm really looking forward to Malsuk find out that the guy she love is YH's brother, haha. When YH's elder brother said that MS is really pretty, his wife and his mother don't like it and it's the 1st time 2 woman have sth in common, I laughed at this part so hard. Life is gonna be tough for Malsuk.
And wowww, Cha TAe Hyun cameo in Unexpeted you, this gonna be daebak. I love all the cameo appearance in this drama. There are: Kim Seung Woo (Kim Nam Joo's husband), Yoo Joon Sang's wife, Su Geun, a famous gag man in Gag concert, Kim Jang Hoon (a famous singer)...
This list of cameo apearance just makes me love this drama more xD
I gotta join the love fest with this drama. At first not too enamored but it grew on me and now I am hooked. I look for the subs in anticipation...so the group is growing. Love the posts.

So can someone tell us who she ended up with it? Was it an open ending? I tried to figure it out but no luck....so if some kind soul would help it would be terriffic

To me this drama is one of my favorites of all time. I cried so much for the last episode. So well done in every way . I have a new favorite actor in KRW who has taken the place of SSH and EOE.......The love is so believable even though it is a drama...if all of us could love like this the world would be so much better. Bravo to the entire production and a big thanks for all of you with your insight that helped to make this an enjoyable couple of months.

I agree we are desperate but then that is what is fun...like unraveling a mystery...it is quality for sure. But I believe those are the baby pictures also....so it seems like she will be able to be a mom for a little bit.with maybe messages left for the baby...but I still will be disappointed if he goes with HG...but I still think that is where it is headed.Who would want HG's mother for a step grandmother? My stepgrandmother was pretty mean so I would sympathize even if it is a drama and make believe.

btw episode 18, scene where his head hit the bathroom its looks so real to me, I feel like my head collided with the harsh, make me cry
My Aunt had Alz and she got mean also...they can't help it..I guess what they know and remembered is unfiltered and the true feelings come out..I jumped and cringed when SY hit her head....I do stupid stuff all the time and it looked really realistic..... well done actors and directors

JH's father is telling him that SY's condition has become so bad that it's time he called a halt to his attempts to care for her and should send her instead to a specialist institution. HG's father is also telling JH's father that that would be the best thing. But JH is saying no, he has promised to look after her himself till the very end. There's an obvious suggestion that SY decides that enough is enough and ends her own life while she still has the choice. Strangely, there is no sign of the child. So if it hadn't been for the apparently rather silly mother of that child actress (who I bet is in very hot water with the production company for showing off like that and breaching the otherwise tight security around the shooting of the final episodes) we would be assuming that the baby doesn't survive what is clearly shaping up to be a difficult labor.
I bet the mother is also....thank you for the translation. I thought it looked like she did herself in also..Maybe that is why SY would not let JH totally cut HG out so that she could step into SY spot and know the baby would be loved and HG would be good to her brother and family also ....how sad but how unselfish both of JH's women are....

On learning via the indiscreet chatter of the younger one that the older one had hopes of netting Jae Min (a revelation that caused Auntie to come in for a close-up-look at this daughter-in-law candidate and show signs of a favorable initial impression) SY said that she was a caluclating schemer who was out of the question as a wife for Jae Min.
Well have to agree with SY on that one...I like the other younger coworker who put her shoes on her when she forgot them...she is so much nicer....Thank you for your help Baduy

I think that is where it is heading....a reunion....I am not going to lie it would be disappointing to me as then SY is replaced with the one person that SY felt guilty for affecting her life.....but the baby would be loved.... but HG mom would never love the baby and if they had kids SY's baby would always be 2nd......can anyone tell us what SY told the coworkers? and what happens in the preview?

Thank you Baduy-- I'm at GMT +10 and checked on Soompi to glean some wisdom from your comments as soon as I could get to a computer about 10 a.m. my tine, before I even downloaded the raw. I was disappointed to not find a "not to be missed" guide by you on Episode 17. When I watched Episode 17 in raw, I realized you were probably hard at work crafting an annotation and a lyrical translation. Thank you so much. Your memory is both encyclopedic and dictionary. How on earth do you recognize a German poem which has been translated to Korean?

Yes, they are showcasing his versatility. Who would have thought that he would become the central character in a drama called, "NTOTG"! hahaha
As for Kyle, I loved it, in AG, when Rubi told him to butt out of their family affairs when he told her how wrong their action toward their parents were. Yeah, he was a totally gossipy ahjumma.
I wonder why he calls her, "Mother", instead of omoni, especially since he is so attuned to the Korean culture. I guess the Freudian explanation would be that, by using 'Mother' versus 'omoni', is a deliberate stance to let her (and everyone else) know he isn't Korean and don't expect him to act like one. Remember how he was reading the 7 ages of man to RR? I certainly hope he isn't in the age of a jack-richard simmons... sheesh.
I have to admit this drama went another way...but don't stone me here...I rather like it and found it enjoyable..I like Kyle and with the reaction even from this board on the "white guy" the writer is making a point and it works. He is not ugly..sure he isn't Brad Pitt but he is considerate and isn't drinking and beating her. He watches out for her...holds her hand.. has a future and RRs fake mom would fit in well in Vegas, seems to me he is a catch. In Assorted Gems people were upset that he wasn't with Rubi so now he is with RR. As for the ghosts it makes it kinda a romance/melodrama/rom com...Of course it will make more sense after the subs are out but the whole get married /gingsang thing was too over the top and angsty..this is good to see them laugh and have three dramas in one. Is it my favorite? nah Twinkle had me at episode 1 but no more sobbing and drunk girls are refreshing.

OMO!!! ZOMBIE GISAENG!!! That is as hilarious as the "mad pig in a blue bib!" I'm with ya on the ghost thing, it is soooo freakin' ridiculous, not just visually badly done. Plus, I think Writer Im has recently seen Jewel in the Palace, with all the food talk. Jewel in the Palace was like watching 50 hours of the Food Network. I recant my previous claim of only knowing one plot line: I know two. Not only did RaRa not marry Dr. Grabby, but Andre is still king!
If SooRa was my father-in-law, I would make a dish with the smashed fish and a little Andre, serve it with some rice while telling him about the health benefits of not pissing-me-off!
I know we are not supposed to write one liners.......but OK this is funny...made me laugh "health benefits of not pissing me off"

In the preview what is DM's mom tellimg SR? Is a good or bad thing?....does it sound like DM's friends are going to go against him?

I don't know if anyone of you caught the conversation with SR 's family early in ep 36.....her father says his clothes are fitting tighter and adjusts his pants and says he is full... evil stepmother says he doesn't eat much these days or something like that....he must be getting sicker because wasn't it his kidneys? He must be going into renal failure and retaining fluid ect...if this is true then it may play into the hospital with her real father,,,just a thought

I can guess you must had a really hard time translating this and previous episode. I know I had a hard time even starting to watch ep 31 and that's why I waited until you or someone to do the recap on the story first. Hopefully there is "a light at the end of tunnel" so these two lovebirds can get on with their lives.

@dramaok: I totally agree with you and the organization. All of the points are quite valid.
I, for one, started watching right from the beginning, in anticipation of seeing some Korean cultural artistic presentations. I really didn't expect to see Mr. Ginger doing his Elvis impersonation or teaching them how to slow-dance.
Or, as you said, SR singing trot songs. I really thought we would see traditional music and dance lessons or practice sessions with experts. This is not to say that the 'tale' Writer Im is weaving isn't interesting. However, the lack of artistic presentations is disappointing.
Frankly, I was really surprised to see the gisaengs coming in half-drunk. I also expected a more elegant mode of behavior from them; especially after what HwaRan said about them to Joo Hee.
I also agree with the article and the comments .....I was a little taken aback by the girls being brought in drunk and didn't think it would go over too well. I also think it doesn't put the gisaengs in a good light. In fact the whole "house" part of the drama is quickly becoming a turn off for me. I prefer the relationships going on around and out of the house. I guess that is why "Twinkle" to me has become my no 1 drama on weekends, This one had promise but it has gone too much in the other direction.IMO

Has this drama been cut in episodes, since thy are showing previews of the new one? On dramawiki it is saying the new one starts Feb 13th.
