Yeah the ending is totally different from the novel and the spoiler previous. The storyline are totally different from the novel for some characters.
I do hope some unrelease/cut scenes will available. Esp for Xq and Awu. Some scene just jump here and there .
Ditto. Considering they originally had about 80+ episodes?? Tbh I really want to see the uncut version. It'd explain all those weirdly edited scenes/characters that abruptly "died," and thoroughly explain everyone's story........ praying for an uncut version
On another note.. I'm having RP withdrawal... all I knew for the last two months were Xiao Qi, HZ, and Awu....... what to watch now?? Lol ***criess****

The special flower hasn't been used yet, right? Maybe they'll give it to Xiao Qi to help him with his injuries? Just a wild twist to consider
My initial thought was that the tomb might be helan zhens moms, or maybe even Qian Er since she's in Helan territory now

By the way, for those who want to spend the time while waiting for future episodes, check out Singing All Along. Justin Yuan (He Lan Zhen) plays the lead. He is also a General with royal ties turned Emperor, based on real historical character. Strong female lead in Ruby Lin.
Back to Episode 37, Xiao Qi was so gleeful when he overheard that Wang Xuan allowed him to use her dowries. He went to her and gave her little nudges and flowered her with compliments then I suppose with the curtain closed, did his husband duty of making his wife happy.
Indeed Wang Xuan came up with a better commercial plan to sustain the families.
I tried watching this *for him* but Ruby's acting threw me off.... lol.. I will have to give it another try! Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm sorry but I skipped a lot towards the end and my memory is not the best towards the latter part. I hope someone else can help answer / chime in. ... I only remember snippets.....
SpoilerBefore the emperor dies,, he wanted Awu to see zitan as news got around that he has a concubine and a child now. To her surprise, it was none other than Jin Er, and their daughter *i think her name was ahbao or something.*
Eventually, the emperor dies, followed by the empress. Something happens to the child and as a result, and became mentally impaired. *correct me if im wrong*
This was before Zitans power struggle.
SpoilerDidn't Zitan join force with General Song in the end and thus, started the second revolt?
Please keep in mind a lot has been changed. They're giving Helan Zhen more screen time compared to the novel, and the second revolt seems more problematic than in the novel

I like to see him asking Xiao Qi to sign the divorce papers.
I think I saw somewhere that Xiao Qi will have to fake his death (following father in law's footstep) and Wang Xuan will spent some time at He Lan country. She wore the ethnic clothes with a white flower in her hair.
Yes! I remember seeing a scene of her in the intro where she came out of the hut in Helan

So,is helan zhen really love awu? Or just wanna use her coz she is Xiao Qi weakness?
This is my interpretation of novel HZ.
**Read the book with my limited Mandarin and the help of my SO. I stand to be corrected. Thanks!**
My impression of Helan Zhen from the novel was completely different compared to the drama. Sometimes I wonder, had the author made some changes, Helan Zhen would've been more memorable in the eyes of the viewers.... wishful thinking. Of course, he was a lot more abusive so in a way, I'm glad his character was written out fast.
The beginning of the book introduced him first and in fact, emphasized on his unwillingness to use Awu in his schemes. He once told her, "if you werent you, i..." and got cut off by one of the Helan guards ushering him to put the phosphorous belt on her!
Not sure if anyone remember this scene when he compared Awu to his mom. I cannot remember if this is in the drama too,, can someone verify? Helan Zhen also mentioned something between the lines of "everything i love turns into dust," and something about "the more I like it, the faster it gets taken away."
Personally, i think novel HZ love her, but his love for vengeance was bigger.
Back to the Drama HZ
Quite honestly, i'm so happy to see Yuan Hong portraying him. It's been a while since I've seen him in a memorial role *since his 13th prince days!! Lol*. While I am a Xiao Qi/Awu fan, I like to think about the possibilities had things been altered a bit.
BTW did anyone notice how much attention HZ was giving Awu in the latter episodes??? Because of this, I think he does harbor feelings towards her. Just not sure if its love or simply admiration. Quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprise if he uses Awu to bring Xiao Qi down.
I stand to be corrected. TY
