    Because never has there been a time that the leading contenders for best actor/actress were also massively popular in social media. DOTS & its stars were massively popular but they cannot in anyway be categorized as leading contenders for the major/ judged prizes - Good acting but not best. 

     

    KDramas have a pool of excellent actors/actresses that's why it has become an "intenational brand name" that rings "excellent". After watching all acting nominees in the nominated dramas, I would say, it's a tight race, with BINJIN having a slight edge. KHN who carried the entire WTCB, & who played an ordinary thinking (sometimes almost dumb) policeman, may be HB's tightest competition. TWOTM wasn't finished when KHE was nominated, but I think judges completed watching it now, plus the actress in H, may be SYJ's strongest competition.

     

    Fingers crossed, hopefully CLOY & Binjin win.this one. Nevertheless, the nominations & the unprecedented massive international reception for CLOY are enough happiness for me.

    With regard to Baeksang popularity voting, I came across baeksang.official on TikTok to vote for HB & SYJ.  HB is currently #2 with more than 100,000 votes; #1 is a former Wannaone Idol. The difference is several thousands. Voting can be done daily (3 votes per day). The votes from the 3rd rank (PSJ) down are TOO small to be bothered with. So it's neck & neck between HB & OSW.

     

    Among females, it's neck & neck between IU (#1) & SYJ (#2) with around 80,000 votes each. Difference is a few thousands. Similarly, the 3rd to lower ranks are too far. 

     

    To vote: install Tiktok; go to baeksang.official. HB name is last on the list. SYJ is #20. Be careful when voting because as soon as you press vote even by accident, it will be recorded automatically. Vote 3X daily...

    I saw Hyun Bin's rugged, bearded & haggard look for the "Bargaining" (while having a meal in a resto w/ movie staff). He was dark and haggard looking, depicting a stressed character as he negotiates or works-out the release of Koreans abducted by terrorists in the deserts of the Middle East. Though still shooting in Korea, some negotiation scenes may be filmed without the necessity yet of a Jordan shooting. If you've seen Confidential Assignment, he was more haggard looking in Bargaining.  The movie should be another blockbuster showcasing Hyun Bin's acting prowess and action star form.

    Because BJ don't want to stir the public and create untimely rumors of relationship/marriage until they announce so themselves. Silence is the best way to deal with the situation.
