  1. Everyone is discussing sience and math and physics and there is me still waiting to hear that proper proposal :joy:

and re watch the little sweet moments of ep13 like guys can we talk about

    - Lee Gon grab his phone right away asking for number and is slightly a bit angry when he learnt that Tae Eul went out and not let him know and he is worried too much that he asked for "solve the urgent matters first" and then bombard calling Jang Mi Reuk to the point that they didnt have time to pick up the phone

personally i think the main reason Tae Eul doesnt ask Lee Gon to go with her cuz she knew he will choose her over his busy work

    - he stopped her to leave and suggest to "watch the dawn together", but it was just  not past mid-night and its actually sweet way of him to ask "lets spend the night together" (swooon)

    - he told her "go to bed first" and the married couple vibe is just too strong

    - Introducing himself to her father, he choose to mentioned his feeling first "the one who likes your daughter" and then his name "Im Lee Gon". He only said his name two times- one to Tae Eul and this time to her father

    - She get the grilled meat, cool it down for him and giving to him first and he just receive it naturally like it happens many times before already

  2. the preview ep14 really get me on nerves

men Kim Eunsook's drama do not easily choose to leave their girl, but if it happened and they try/ or must  leave their love, the reasons will be  often dropped into 2 kind of categories:

he (believes) he does nothing good to her present/ future  (mostly in their early stage of courtship)

(for example: he loves her too much but them being together is again the society law and she is too precious that he does not want to make her life harder

his existence is danger to her future and he mistakens that she will love another guy

she rejects him and he understands that his job is so busy and she simply needs a man can be her side when in needed...)

or fate is so cruel that drag him away his love out of sudden, leaving him no choice

    for example:

he is destined to be kill the enemy with the sword on his chest and he turned to ash coming to the nowhere space

the war is so cold and the battle is so hard and he does want to but he choose to die for her and her patriotism

i do not hope Lee Gon will be in the 2nd team but its likely to happen as we are in the final stage of the show and the preview stated that he begs her to let him go if thats really the context  (for godness shake how painful it will be for him to look into her eyes and say something he can never imagine?)

Won't his heart be broken into million pieces when its him to hurt her. And what on earth the reason it can be that he must choose such cruel way? Does fate step out and ring an alarm of something scary may happen to her future?
I don't think i will be able to understand it if Lee Gon choose to leave her due to another reason (im sorry but im still the team that believe he will move for love only) so i wanna believe if he ever leaves her it must be something significant that put her into danger/ scare him to lose her and he must do something about it

  3. godness I cannot believe Lee Gon did not get the hint "there is no next time, let's live today only" from Tae Eul!

Man, she is literally saying "make the move NOW"

can someone go tell him about this matter?

urgh, and I don't know if its only me but I actually like this dark brutal version of Lee Gon- he is merciless when in need

Command to shot dead all the ppl in bookstore, order to behead the traitor's follower and exposed it to the society

finally the climax, sent the whole army which I believe he wants to ensure that Tae Eul is protected completely (i hope we got the flashback on him heard the call message)

the security level reminds me when Prince Byueon was alive, and when Lee Gon shout out "protect her, the future Queen"

i finally realized, oh so this is why the army is here. The queen is in danger. Luckily the scene is not by the sea, otherwise Lee Gon may summon for the Navy also lmao

and the fact that Lee Gon himself and his team use their swords instead of let the SWAT do their jobs

I know we gonna think differently but i will choose to think that its quieter (like someone here used to mention)

ps: things had me goosebumps in this episode

    - Luna's hair is actually long, when she took of the wig and tried to fix the hair to match with Tae Eul. Urgh the feeling

    - the umbrella that Lee Rim always carries out, is a sword. I was suspicious before, and when it turns true...

    - The bookstore owner is already changed (which means Lee Rim already one step ahead Lee Gon as he knew the store will be attacked)

    - Lee Rim knows exactly how important Tae Eul is to Lee Gon. He knows Lee Gon will do everything to save Tae Eul and even make the right guess that she will come to the palace.

but i wonder if Lee Rim's plan at this point is quite simple? He kidnapped Tae Eul and keep her in Corea to make Lee Gon give him other half flute. Meanwhile, sent Luna to Korea (to deceive other ppl) only? He didnt not mention (yet?) anything about the courtship of Lee Gon and Tae Eul

but things changed now because Tae Eul escaped, what will be happened then?

    This!

@OR Ng Actually.. the first was pretty shocking. For someone who just met him and he said he will take her as Queen.

I would have rolled my eyes right there. LOL

I demand a new and proper one!

    JTE deserves it! :phew:

actually I consider the one with the kiss by window is the "first confession" lmao (thats why I

    thought it was simple)

i know it is not a proper direct proposal but he did said something similar "can you live with me in my world"

In my mind, the one "i take you as a queen" was a self proclamation than love confession (i apology for my weird mind)  so i find its hard to take as proposal

i know love is not only about talking sweet words but when it comes to confession and proposal in Kim Eunsook's drama, you can't help expecting something great

so Im literally waiting for this second proposal  like A LOT

If you see the pictures closely. So this might be after he found her injured. Her forehead bandaged and there's some bruises on her face. So I bet LG cooked her to console her and to make her feel good. It's her favorite looking him in uniform.

Ok lemme guess the sequences, first after she wakes up, assumed she got treated and rest. I see her walking down the stairs. Her room might be upstairs. Then she might find LG already in the kitchen cooking some food. That makes her looks surprised. Next, he served the food when he's done. So that's why she's tying up her hair. She usually does it whenever she feels annoyed at him but this time, she does it because she wants to

okay, maybe its just me over thinking though I am aware her being injured also

for now let's focuse on the second proposal haha

i hope he makes it a bit more romance with super cheesy lines

(as i remember the first time is quite simple, not that I complain but still...)

Oh.... he did as she said... awww....

is it me or she looks super surprise  in the pics?
I mean, this is not the first time Lee Gon cooks for her, he actually did it twice (one brought the food and one they were together in the kitchen). In both scenes, Tae Eul despite of first time to have the food cooking by the King, she never has that kind of expression (like, in the pics she just cannot believe in her eyes?)

but the way she is tying hair the same though

can someone please tell me I'm overthinking here
because we all agreed that there is no way Lee Gon will mistaken his love righhhhht?

  7. as much as I want a happy ending for Lee Gon and Tae Eul

the trauma from previous works of Kim Eun Sook still creep me out

last two times when the writer "allowed" main couple getting married and exchanged vows

either the hero or heroine would die eventually, and to make it worse, the partner even witnessed the last moment of their beloved!
    I just hope that she won't turn this into a triple hell-ending ㅠ ㅠ

Allow me to chime in and offer my humble opinion. The ID was left with LR and he was told the girl it belonged to was the king’s guest. From my understanding, the king does not just invite any guest over to his palace, let alone, someone from Korea. Does LR know JTE is from Korea? I think her ID may have given that away. So why would the king bring a girl over from Korea and invite her to his palace? It doesn’t take a genius to guess their relationship. I think he knows.

count me in this, I also believe Lee Rim already learnt about the courtship between Tae Eul and Lee Gon

remember back then Lee Rim felt the time stops several times indicating someone crossing the parallel gate, he knew Lee Gon left the palace and already questioned himself why Lee Gon kept coming to Korea

and it would not take him much time to finally realize the reason, when he got the ID card of Tae Eul stealing from the palace

a pretty girl from Korea, spent one night in the King palace. What else it can be?

let's not forget also, there is more than one spy in palace

(when Court Lady Noh kicked out the female staff who leaked the news about Lee Gon cooking for Tae Eul to Seo Ryung's secretary but she said there is another spy)

if that spy is in palace at that time, they probably will know about Tae Eul visit also

but at least with that ID only, he must know Lee Gon and Tae Eul relationship already

But can I ask a question????

The character synopsis is given by SBS?

    I mean.. really?

LR doesn't even know Luna until his minion pointed out in episode 9 or 10 (I forget).. so.. how is that possible for her to see LR as god now?

yepp, Luna and all other characters synopsis is provided by SBS and posted on the main website drama at the beginning (so its not fictional, unless the writer changes her mind- but its unlikely happened so...)

    below are the lines:
단 한 번도 신의 존재를 믿은 적 없지만 루나는 그제야 신을 믿게 됐다. 어둠 같게도 빛 같게도 다가온 남자. 그 신의 이름은, 이림이었다. (Luna never believes in deity, until one day,  she starts to believe deity's existence. A man who is like the dark and the light, is coming to her. That deity's name is Lee Rim)

also, on the synopsis list, Luna and Lee Rim are put next to each other (while Jo Young and Eun Sup are put next to each one)

    34-D604-EB-B1-DC-4-ED8-B6-F8-6-E48-E8-F0

sometimes Kim Eunsook tends to develop the character differently in comparing to original version, but she always follows the original content at first

(which mean at least at a certain time, Luna will take Lee Rim as a god, but she may/ or may not change later)

Probably all of them. Luna might want a decent life, someone who cares at her earnestly, and being healthy. But some scenes of her we got so far, I still want to give her chance that she might not be that evil as she looks. I think from what I've concluded, she won't hurt someone if that person didn't bother her first. So far we hears about her only from the gangsters perspective. I'm still hoping she's bad but not evil like LR.

I also think Luna won't be evil as Lee Rim

but if she really is, and with the benefit of Tae Eul's face, many scary scenarios can be happened

(for example: if Luna do criminal things and get arrested or known by society, Tae Eul and Lee Gon will never have a future in Corea

or even Lee Gon knows Luna acted as Tae Eul, he maybe cannot do anything cuz others will mistaken later)

also Luna's character script still get on my nerves as she "sees Lee Rim as a deity"

it may be easy for Luna jealousy with Tae Eul's life

but how come it get connected to Lee Rim and turn Luna to worship him?

If Luna covets what TE has and she plans to switch her place. I believe she can't fool LG. He must know which is his truly TE.

    i'm with you on this

Lee Gon MUST know who is his Tae Eul

after all, he is the man in Kim Eunsook's drama; he must not disappoint us in term of love

i also won't think he will be easy on Luna because her same face

he has no concern or emotionly waved by the "same face" thing

(when he and Tae Eul went to search for Ji Hun's mom)

even later when he came to police station and checked profile of Luna, he showed no emotion either (not even annoyed or angry or whatever, just simply not care at all)

Lee Gon is determined and generally polite but he can be very cold-hearted towards those who has bad intention

(remember how he treats Seo Ryung cuz she keep flirting with him and crossing the line some time)

if Luna dares to hurt Tae Eul with a vicious intention and appeared in front of Lee Gon addressing herself as his love, can he let her alive?

but one thing worries me, my gut is telling me swap thing (if happened) cannot be that simple intimate relationship is hard to pretend, especially to the person who is smart and already aware of dual version

if Luna really gonna choose to act as Tae Eul- there must be some huge preparation and detailed plan

(or maybe other way around? erase the identity of Tae Eul and turn her to Luna? But it sounds more impossible cuz Lee Gon already command the police report to him anything related to Luna)

or just simply throw Tae Eun into randon gansters group who holds rage with Luna and they will surely kill her? )

PS: reading preview ep.11 and I still wonder what REALLY makes Luna jealousy with Tae Eul?

    a decent life?

    a passionate lover?

or 3-months left to live and has nothing to lose?

also, the outfit that Tae Eul wears in preview is casual, it seems she was just at home or chilling somewhere nearby when the event happened

how horrible it is to be dragged in such time

(and I just hope Jo Young does not get into this, because if he was there and still lost it means he will hurt badly also)

However: in the character descriptions is it not suggested, even asked rather than stated, that Luna's cancer condition might be hereditaryDoes anyone have access to the description? Didn't JTE's mother die of an illness? Of course both mothers could definitely have the same illness but we know from seeing other doppelgangers that certain things aren't the same.

yes, Tae Eul's mother passed away due to cancer (it is mentioned in Tae Eul's father character description "... 25 years ago, he lost his wife to cancer and since then he has raised Tae Eul by himself")

and also in Luna's character description, it is written that "... terminally ill 3 months left to live. Luna is dumfounded, the only thing that her unknow parents left for her is cancer"

the theory about Tae Eul and Luna swap/twins just creep me out, because this plot twist, if really happened, will be a simpler than the "remnant theory" yet impact can be huge

imagine, if Luna is the one in Korea thats mean she maybe the one who has it all. (even though later she may be dead from cancer, still she would like a happier life)
yet she was in Corea, turned out to be a criminal living a low dark life

thats sound unfair and can trigger rage

Moreover, Luna cannot believe upon knowing that she only have three months to live due to cancer, and it maybe a hereditary condition. Until then, she never believed in any god but after the one who approached her both like the darkness and the light named Geumyang, she learns to believe now." - Source: https://annyeongoppa.com/2020/04/17/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-characters-of-the-king-eternal-monarch/

talking about Luna's character script,  the person Luna sees as deity is Lee Rim

"그 신의 이름은, 이림이었다." (And that deity name is, Lee Rim") the final line in  the script

Till episode 10, I still cannot imagine how a rough Luna may come to take Lee Rim as a deity

she is definitely not the kind of regular follower who easily get attract to power or high class life

and due to her similar face with Tae Eul, the most possible scenario is, she takes over Tae Eul's life, pretend to be her and get close to Lee Gon?
but we know for sure this trick cannot play on Lee Gon, he must be able to distinguish  the girl that he loves (if he cannot tell them apart, the disappointment will be as much as the in-between space)

then what is the other scenario?

As much as I found the theory about Luna being the remnant of Luna is excited, I also agree it will be too much for the writer to follow that path with so many timetravellers, timeloop trap in ped, multiple version of ppl stuck in different timeline and universe

plus, Luna is too different than Tae Eul. She is a thief, brutal, revengeful.

how about Luna pretends as Tae Eul and ruin her image to other ppl, or attack ppl surrounding Tae Eul?

and will she really choose to side with Lee Rim- I will be dying curious to know how he can persude her

and what will be her role in this whole picture

PS: i still wonder why Goo Seo Ryung is the first person in the main line meet Luna face-to-face. I feel that encounter has some kind of meaning but cannot figure it out

This is exactly what I am thinking but my husband thinks he is just getting married to the PM that's why he had this bidding farewell feels. I told him it would make sense if he's wearing a hanbok, but I'm not entirely sure about korea's wedding culture. This is the first time we were so invested(So invested that we try to find clues on the characters outfit. lol) in a Korean drama so I thought it would be best to check. Thanks  for answering by the way.

    trust me

even if Lee Gon was wearing a hanbok or even a t-shirt with big text in front "im getting married", there will never be a wedding  if the bride is not Tae Eul

because... the writer is Kim Eunsook (and that's a guarantee)

if a hero in her drama happened/accidentally to marry/ engage with someone else not the main girl, well, you can be sure it was before he met the love of his life

once she appears, she gonna be the only one under-any-circumstances

men in Kim Eunsook's drama never put on a show romance with other girls no-matter-what

I was thinking the same. He could have just deleted that part but then again JY is following some protocol

    my opinion is

as a royal guard captain, Jo Young must obey the law following the King's words and "any words is said or done by the King must not be deleted" (he mentioned the same thing to Tae Eul also)

and as a close friend, Jo Young indeed does not want to erase the "message" that Lee Gon leaves to his love - Tae Eul

if Jo Young tried to search something, the new keywords may replace those "message" and it will be gone

that's why he was waiting to show it to Tae Eul (this man is adorable in his own way I admit)

My interpretation, he failed once and was able to turn back time to 1994 and redo it, which started the loop. Each time he fails, he keeps turning back time so he continues to be stuck in this loop. My understanding is there is no other Lee Gon. He is the same person but there seems to be a reset button where he gets to do it all over again until it is right. Once he succeeds, the loop breaks and time can continue forward.

Thanks a lot for the clarify! you shed light on my slow-mind

so basically, this is the time loop already right? and it means he somehow learn the shooting skill (because we know if he does not fake it the current Lee Gon is not well at shooting)

and is it me or when I keep watching the scene of ID tag in 1994, it seems the Kid-Lee Gon grabbed it by himself not that the savior dropped it on purpose.

i wonder if there is already time loop before, did the ID tag also left at the conspiracy scene? or only this time and this will be the variable which makes the difference in the loop?

but again, imagining previous-failed-time-loop Lee Gon  grows up without the ID tag of Tae Eul is hard and kinda impossible right? he would not be aware that his savior holds an irregular identity, and may think the savior is someone who live on the same world. let's say even Luna may lead him to the parallel gate and meet Tae Eul, he will not easily to fall in love with her either (as he has no idea who is this girl)

personally i quite like this theory (the most- among 1001 theories here hehe), but my mind just cannot handle this combo time lopp + time travel + parallel universe lmao

  17. I had went back pages and found the theory time loop ft time travel (with Lee Gon as savior) is quite interesting so I dare to make a summary based on what I read through my *liberal arts* mind

(please correct me if i lost my mind or mess any points :sweatingbullets:

so there is another Lee Gon who once already experienced all the events: cross the universe, meet Tae Eul, fall in love AND win over Lee Rim AND close  the parallel gate (which leads to the couple's separation)

in order to reunite with Tae Eul, this another Lee Gon got trapped in time loop while he is trying to find other gate to parallel universe

    however he fails 987 times

then somehow he manages to travel back in time of year 1994

save the Kid-Lee Gon (the current Lee Gon)

but he cannot shoot out Lee Rim

because he needs Lee Rim to leave with half flute let the parallel gate open

and the kid-version grow up and look for Tae Eul once again

(and maybe try to find again another way to be with her forever with the gate closed)

  18. one thing i found very adorable about Lee Gon is he cares so much for Tae Eul

in the kitchen scene, Tae Eul told him that wandering around in Corea made her realize that he must be very lonely when he was in Korea and Lee Gon just turn to her right away "do you feel lonely here?"  how nice it is for someone to think about your feeling first even though the story is not really about you

and Lee Gon always longs to know what is in her mind

the helicopter scene, he can just asked her later why she looks at the moon with such expression, though Tae Eul found the  situation sensitive due to the existence of Jo Young and Secretary Mo and didnt wanna talk

Lee Gon didnt mind to shock the other two by writing on her hand in an intimate way and respond to her concern about the story of rabbit living in the moon

and i guess everyone will share the same opinion about this, the way Lee Gon never (not even pretend) hide his feelings to Tae Eul (if not, he seems to promote his crush to her lmao)

he admitted to Secretary Mo that yes she is that prettier person if a man said that, everyone will know thats his love

the encounter with Prime Minister is not easy, Seo Ryung aint a regular official but a PM who holds power and her awareness about Tae Eul can lead to negative outcome

(funny thing) while Jo Young and Lady Noh tried so hard to cover Tae Eul's existence, Lee Gon didnt give a dam*n care about all of that, I guess all the words from Lady Noh passed through his ears and all the glares of Jo Young threated nothing to him

Lee Gon smiled wide with Tae Eul's answer of course because liberal arts is kind of a thing between him and Tae Eul, he found her cute with that, but it doesnt mean anything to outsiders and the way he laughed at it dedicated too much about their relationship

he even made it clear Seo Ryung that this is personal thing

thats why Seo Ryung was uneasy "i smile because of you, but it turned out you would smile at the times like that"

  19. had so many questions after ep6

how about Shin Jae, if Lee Rim next target is him that means Shin Jae's Corea version must be very close to the King's surroundings

but we didnt see him yet

If not, can Shin Jae be much more important role who holds some mystery/secret of that event back in 1994?

is the nightmare he often dream is that even in the past or the future that gonna happen soon?

and does Lee Rim already knows every single person that close to Lee Gon is related to the coffee owner? Especially the most important person - Jung Tae Eul.
honestly if Lee Rim knows about Tae Eul, he will focus on her only thats the most efficient way to hurt Lee Gon like hell

The Id card that was lost in the palace, more than finding the culprit I am more curious to know HOW it can be used? Will it be used as fake Id to copy Tae Eul (ft Luna?)  or its the one will be in 1994 scene?
