EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AND GIVE US YOUR THOUGHTS!!!

    ARE THEY BOTH SYJ'S HANDS?

ARE THEY SYJ AND HB'S HANDS?

    TURN ON YOUR SPY MODE!

Ok guess I have to wander in SYJ-HB forum for more tea...I'm thirsty and here is not the appropriate place. See you guys over there.

Was this when they were watching the football or soccer game?

Sorry to disappoint your shipper’s heart, but they were holding hands in the scene as RJH and YSR. That was part of the scene.

In my country, CLOY is the Korean biggest hit in years. Don’t remember any other drama has the same hype as CLOY, not even DOTS. Many Thai celebrities are watching and talking about it.

I remember Moonlovers has the most hype during its time. It has thousands and thousands of comments in many platforms. If you check  the soompi forum it has more 2000 pages plus the shippers thread has more than 1000 pages.

And in 2020, it’s definitely CLOY. I love this drama from the get go and the OTPs chemistry is amazing. I always love Hyun Bin in rom-com.

    Comrades,

    I have one question here.

If the NK defect to SK, is he/she can live happily in SK?

I really really curious about this.

Oh our ducklings! We gonna miss y’all so much! Good luck for future endeavors :bawling:

NK defectors are considered citizens by SK law. But with your question, can they live happily in SK? The ducklings probably would,  because Seri will provide them livelihood.

Sad this drama is ending and surely it’a going to be missed.

Just look at Kim Jung Un's personal bodyguards especially those who runs next to his limousine! I did mention in my earlier post (before page 100) that JH looks perfect as a NKorean bodyguard with his physique. LOL!

They were highlighted in some foreign press including mine for their built and a few pix of a few good looking ones were mentioned during those peace talks with Trump heydays!B)

Kim Jung Un bodyguards have builds with leaner muscles, if not flubby. NK military men have definitely leaner build, in fact they are tiny. I saw DMZ guards in person, they are relatively much skinnier that their SK counterpart.

RJH physique is too western. But don’t get me wrong, I am only talking about the physique of the character. I love how Hyun Bin perform the character-  the facial expressions, how he shows the strength and vulnerable, though not much with action scenes. Those action scenes are not very well executed but hey it’s a rom-com not an action flick. To sum up- I love this drama from the get-go, mainly for Hyun Bin but I love SHJ and the supporting cast too.

But JH belongs to the priviledged North Koreans as his dad holds a high ranking post! He could even afford piano lessons and study in Switzerland!

His village house where SR took refuge is VERY WELL STOCKED with food unlike the normal villagers. Until today Chil Su kept harping on how SR depleted those food! LOL!

High protein diet and weights exercise regimen is very western. North Korea discouraged any western and capitalistic influence. RJH build is too obvious to be a result of high protein diet and more weight exercise. Did you see Kim Jung Un? His build shows power and wealth in North Korea. But you don’t want your leading man to have the appearance of Kim Jong Un, right? Hehehe

Q: How did you get into character to play a North Korean military officer?

HB: First, appearance wise, not because the character is a North Korean officer but because he has to be able to protect someone, I felt that he needed to appear dependable, so I bulked up a bit.

    (1:29

That is what I said that he bulk up for the role and I respect for his interpretation.

It may be fine for a South Korean man, but I disagree for a North Korean protecting someone. RJH build is not fitting for  North Korean character. Nevertheless, I love this drama to bits and I love Hyun Bin’s performance.

"Since my fated one is in N Korea, I kept breaking up with other men!"

What an EXCUSE by SR to a bewildered JH!

I LOVE this scene and couldn't help giggling at HYUN BIN's multiple expressive facial reactions especially when pouting again when accused of being jealous! :D

I LOVE that HYUN BIN is one of a few actors who still maintain a "fleshly" face (my no 1 bias Ha Suk Jin who acts as his brother is another 1) unlike many others who got their faces slimmed down a lot!

Hyun Bin said he bulked up for RJH. While I respect his interpretation for the character, it’s not quite a right depiction of a North Korean soldier. I doubt if anyone can find a North Korean man in NK like Ri(Lee) Jeong Ryeok. I thought it would have been perfect if he would have rather lost weight and just retained lean muscle for this role.

I thought the guy with the kinda long hair who was in the alley was JH’s informant for a second cos he was on the phone around the same time as when JH got the call about CK’s whereabouts, but he turned out to be CK’s helper instead.

JH might have a helper in both SK and NK cos someone helped him manoeuvre through the tunnel into SK too or maybe it’s just the one person helping JH? I just thought it was difficult to phone between SK/NK but then SJ did have a phone that was able to call SR’s bro from NK so it’s possible that his helper just has knowledge of both SK and NK. Very interested in learning who is helping him!

Definitely, it’s not possible to phone from NK to SK. But SK to NK is very possible through VPN.

CLOY is NOT a realistic representation of how life is in North Korea. So while I understand the fun in the drama it definitely isn't something to take serious in terms of politics and life conditions in North Korea. :)

It’s not the total depiction of North Korea, of course, because it only shows the high ranking and rich group of people , which probably comprising less than 5% of the whole NK demographic.

Other than being in a totalitarian political regime, an isolated country and citizen having no freedom, North Korea is like any other 3rd world country where more than 95% of the population are struggling and starting.

I have been thinking that maybe SR's real mother was a spy from NK and SR's stepmother knew about it hence she came to the conclusion that SR was greedy and wanted to become the CEO. For her, the mother had seduced her husband because she was a spy and wanted to get money/power. Let us imagine now how SR's stepmother will react, if this theory comes true.

First, for the stepmother, it is a huge blow because deep down she might come to think that SR was looking for her biological mother. The mother only heard that SR was in NK but she has no idea how she stranded there. In other words, she starts believing that SR doesn't consider her as her mother any longer. Secondly, she also hears that her second son wanted her to remain there... imagine, if SR's past is connected to NK, she might lose SR forever and we know that her stepmother had realized herself that she views SR as her own daughter. While her son will do anything to send her back to NK, the mother will do the opposite and even hide the origins of SR's biological mother.

Someone pointed out that SR was found at a beach... maybe it was the place, where RJH appeared after leaving NK. SR might have forgotten her past due to the trauma (being abandoned at the beach).

About the Yoon Seri family connection with the North, it was mentioned episode 2 or 3 that the ‘Yoon’ family was from the North, and the irony is ‘Lee or Ri’ was from the South but didn’t imply that her mother was from the North.

really hope cloy can get 25%...

I thought it could potentially reach 20% and hoping 25%, however we also have to consider that it’s on TvN, paid tv station. Which means, viewership depends or limited on number subscribers only. Unlike dramas on SBS, KBS, MBC and other free or public tv stations have the whole population as their viewers.
