I love film photography. I bought an old Minolta X-370 from Goodwill for only 3 dollars. I like that it has a shallow depth of field with the stock lens. Still takes nice pictures. I would take more pic but film still cost a lot especially Black and White film. Took photography classes in high school and college and even learned to developed film too. I like digital that it don't cost a thing to developed, but film makes it feel very hands on. Will post up some pictures later.

MOney will buy me happiness because it will rid of my bills, and I don't have to worry about about any kind of finances. Therefore there are no negative things that will hold you back and you can you focus on having fun.

I like them when they dub thai movies... I love micmicking all the voices in the movies that they dub... especially the funny ones. I can't even get enough of them.
Anyways, I agree on some terms... that those Hmong dubbers or directors that are directing movies or writing screen plays should find actors and actress that actually KNOWS how to act not just pick those that they THINK are good, especially when they want their movies to not only be known to the HMONG community but nationwide.
Now that I come to think of it, looks doesn't matter because all our actors and actresses are always off getting married and or settling down when they have just begun with their career.... I find that WAY too stupid and a waste of time to become a HMONG celebrity.
And Hmong people should keep a record of all the actors and actresses and singers around just so other HMONG people or, the AUDIENCE would WANT to know a little bit more of their backgrounds. [Hahah. That's me there. I like to stalk celebrities whenever I can or is attracted to their characters in the movies.]
there's many actors/actresses out now, and some of them disappear after awhile. Especially when there is no actor that can last long enough or is good enough and make a lot of movies to become house hold names (popular) like Xa and Ge from the early 90's. I will always remember them.
I have to agree that Hmong movies are getting better, but seems like sometimes they take one step forward then two step back. I saw movies that have nice tempo going, nice cinematography, good plot, actors suited for the characters. Then the next movie comes out, it looks like they went backwards. Plot is washed out with too many things going on and is not necessary, cinematography is basic, dialogue way too long (my mom fast forwards those parts, can't blame her). Unnecessary sound effects and cheesy too especially in a serious story line. Okay for comedies not for serious movies.
Seriously when I watch some of the newer Hmong movies, all the guys or girls have a style of look that don't match their characters or every main character has the same look movie to movie.
I give props for those movies that are moving forward and improving.

Haven't break dance since middle school. Back then in the 90's, people in school would recognize us as bboy's or that group that break dance. Yep it comes with the territory, people will know who you are. Too bad we couldn't afford the style of clothes to make it look good. Non matching style that was it.

I find it weird how some boy groups have like 10 members or so, how many people do you really need to sing in a group? Same with girl groups. Nothing seems original anymore. The last group that I liked was H.O.T, after them I didn't bother listening anymore.

didn't get this today but a while back. My uncle said "you gained some weight" . I was pretty skinny then and that made me happy, but now I'm getting rounder.

I believed Chinese could fly because of movies. I used to think teachers lived at school.Also me too!!!

when girls say something but means something else and they want you to know it or guess it. If you don't know then you get word beating from them. FOR GOD SAKES WE are not psychic or mind readers. Just tell us what you want or mean.

Yep been there. Happened to me in grade school. me and my cousin were speaking our language during class while working on some projects and our teacher said " Hey Speak English only". right there we just had a WTF, WTH look on our faces. I was disgusted by it. But later she came to us and apologized to us. She said that its great that we can speak 2 languages and shouldn't speak just only one, somewhere along those lines. So I felt better about it.
I don't know why its so much a problem to everyone. It's not like English is the only language out there. Who ever tells a person off like that is very ignorant. IF you are so concerned about it, ask them for a translation or be included into the convo.
IF you took the time to tell them off like that, might as well take that time to learn some of their language. "This is America speak English" thats one of the reason why today most or some of us don't even know our very own language.
I should know because I grew up in the U.S. since I kindergarten (wasn't born in U.S.), and I learned 2 languages. My native language and English. Since living in America my parents wanted us to learn English so much and get punish if we don't learn. So now I speak both languages and mixed them together. Now the parents are saying stop speaking English and speak your own language because you are forgetting your own language. This goes back to "This is America speak English" or "stop speaking English speak Native language" in my family.

Hey, you know where i can find that one in hmong dubb? i so regret it for not geting it when the movie was still on sale...it's so hard to find people with the hmong dubb...
Sorry I don't know how to get the dubbed version but you could ask around to see if anyone have it and borrow it. Or ask the oriental stores and maybe check around tournaments. Been a long time so they might not have it.
lol i have that movie! i used to love it watch it everyday! i think the dubbing people tat dubb that movie did a good job! especially with the translating the peoms.
yes it is a good movie and dubbing. used to remember watching it over and over when it came out. Yes the poems are funny now because I understand what they are saying unlike when I was younger.

There are some good and bad translated movies or dramas. Especially when the voice don't seem to match the characters, like some girls the voice will be too high for the character and seems wrong. I don't like how they cut out a bunch of parts too, but I guess they do it to shorten it or remove dragging scenes.
I personally like to watch the originals unless the translated ones are good. Take Flirting Scholar (known as Tong Pa Fu), I personally like the hmong version dubbed better maybe because I know Hmong and not Chinese language. The Hmong version of is more funny to me just because they did a good job on it and I understand it (hope I make sense there).
for hmong original movies, I don't watch them anymore because the storyline is just basically the same "LOVE". Try to make something new too! I personally like the old Zeb thiab Xab (hope i spelt it right) movies.
I know its cheaply done but it sure heck was scary when I small. And do something about make up too, especailly for some of the guy actors. they put on a lot of make up its like they are drag queening or something!
Over all there are good and bad points in the entertainment industry.

pretty good. not too scary but the suspense was there. So similiar to the game.

If I found out she was in the Marines? I wouldn't mind as I like woman who can do things by herself and is not clingy all the time. Plus they aren't so boring because they are always on the move, it can translate to an active lifestyle.
