TV: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
* still as lame as when i first saw it in the theater. i LOVE the first three indiana jones movies, but this one was just over the top cheesy.

Finished reading a few of the books in the "You Wouldn't Want to Be..." series to see if I can use them in the classroom as unit openers.
- You Wouldn't Want to Be an American Colonist: A Settlement You'd Rather Not Start
- You Wouldn't Want to Be an Aristocrat in the French Revolution!: A Horrible Time in Paris You'd Rather Avoid
- You Wouldn't Want to Be a Civil War Soldier: A War You'd Rather Not Fight
- You Wouldn't Want to Be a Victorian Mill Worker!: A Grueling Job You'd Rather Not Have
Wonderful books with fun illustrations and historically accurate tidbits of info! Definitely going to check out the rest of the books in this series.

the only thing i'm not too pleased with is the whole Lori/Shane relationship. they're showing way too much of it, imo. it was only suppose to be one time thing for the both of them in the graphic novel, but it seems that the tv show has made it to be much, much more (it seems like the tv series is even hinting that shane and lori had an affair even before rick slipped into a coma).
but changes to the story are alwasy to be expected when transfering comics onto tv. now that i think about it, showing an ongoing relationship is an awesome twist/build up to the story, i'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes.

My sister introduced me to The Walking Dead about a month ago and lent me the graphic novels. I just finished reading Volume One of the graphic novel a week before the TV series premiere and it was awesome! I've never really been into graphic novels before, but this series just sucked me in.
here's a link to the graphic novel site, if anyone's interested: http://www.hiddenrobot.com/WALKINGDEAD/
I have yet to watch the TV show, but I've heard great things about it from friends that haven't read the comic. I'll definitely catch up with the premiere episode before the second one airs tonight.

currently watching the Sharks whoop on the Oilers. What a GREAT night!!

Machete
It was hilarious. I had a good time laughing throughout the film. Gritty, cheesy, and gory. haha.
-
Frustratingly watching the Giants self-destruct in the 3rd inning. WTF!
-
watched the Giants throw a SHUT OUT on the Phillies!
again, waiting for the Sharks game to start.
currently catching up on the latest episodes of Running Man, 1N2D, LGDT, and WGM.

i just finished watching this music video some history teachers made about the French Revolution.
these history teachers from hawaii parodied Lady Gaga's Bad Romance into a fun and educational MV. haha.
as a history teacher myself, i thought it was awesome! i hope students will enjoy it as well.

The Coast Guard (2002) took me by surprise!
i thought it was going to be like JSA. boy, was i wrong!
i knew the film was going to be about paranoia. but gawd damn, the way it happened and unfolded was so unexpected. i loved it!
also finished BBC: Being Human - Season 2. (i have not seen Season 1)
vampires and werewolves seem to be an overused theme nowadays.
and with the bastardization of their images with the advent of twilight, i was hesitant to watch this series.
the online trailers for this show were a bit corny and lacking, but i thought i'd give it a try since the reviews were good.
this show has turned out to be one of the best i've seen this year. it's much more gritty and gory than i expected, which was a great surprise. the show also throws in just the right about of humor and drama into the mix to keep things fresh. what i loved most about the show is that it showed the human side of the characters and was, at the same time, unapologetic when the monsters within unleashed themselves.
can't wait for season 3 to start!
-
not a movie, but i finished Spooks/MI-5 Volume 7 [british TV Series].
this volume was awesome!! i can't wait until volume 8 comes out on dvd next year.
planning to re-watch Dexter: Season 4 before the fifth season start next month.

The Crazies
It was much better than I expected. My dad even liked it.
Forbidden Door [indonesia]
It was weirdly gory. The twists in the plot kept me sucked in. Even though I was initially turned off by how weird this film was, I had to watch it a second time to fully appreciate how much of a mindf**k it is.

I Come With the Rain
it didn't hold my attention or interest. i didn't even finish the film, stopped it about 1/3 through. maybe i'll re-watch it when i have nothing else to do.
-
watching the second match of the world cup.
-
watched Shinjuku Incident (2009), Cop on a Mission (2001), and Explosive City (2004).
Shinjuku Incident was the better film out of those three.
-
Attack the Gas Station 2 (2009)
No Mercy (2009)
Vengeance (2009) Johnny To film
and showed Avatar and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to my students on their last few days of school.

Desktop: ASUS (2 years old)
Laptop: Toshiba (6 months old)
Only problem is that the Toshiba does not have a VGA output so I cannot use it with the projectors at my work. I think I'm going to give the Toshiba to my parents and buy myself a new laptop that has both VGA and HDMI outputs.

i watched Avatar in 3-D.
the movie was a lot better than i thought it would be.
now i know why my friends who saw the regular release want to watch it again in 3-D.

i'm sure most of you already seen this, but for those that haven't..
the wonder girls - nobody mv is on the front page of youtube under the Featured Videos
*sorry the pictures kinda small, just look for the red box. haha*
this is awesome!! i've been seeing that they were ranking within the top 10 for the most viewed Musicians Channels
but now that they're on the front page, they'll get even more exposure.
hope they do well on the rest of the tour. Wonder Girls, fighting!!
