Hello Goblin troopers.... It's been a while since I was last able to login and post something in this thread. Work and travel do not make it easy for a k drama fan like me. I had to marathon the last 4 episodes and by the end of episode 13, I was literally drained, emotionally. I was somewhat prepared to be 'drained' as I had read the recaps at DB (since I couldn't watch the episodes) but watching each episode to unfold was completely a different ball game altogether.
Anyhow, just like what @fikachuuu had mentioned earlier, it did cross my mind that PJH's death/demise/ending/punishment? seemed to "easy" compared to his 900 years worth of vendetta along with what he had done in the past. He confronted the court lady /female GR just to confirm that Sunny is indeed Kim Sun but we didn't get to know what actually happened to the court lady/female GR after PJH threatened to reveal her 'secret.' Will this be a plot device that will be left ignored? Will we get to know what her fate will be? She seemed hesitant through out all her 'flashbacks' as if she's not 100% willing to do the dirty deed, or it could just be me.
However, that being said, I really hope that that's the last time we'll ever see PJH. I hope he'll be roasted and toasted in hell for his crimes. TBH, I was wondering how KES will get the whole sword-pulling out of the way since our OTP clearly had a problem executing the task. PJH's ending made it even more critical and significant IMO. Don't forget that the same sword that shed the blood of thousands, resulting in the Goblin's punishment was also responsible for his immortality which brings miracles to a lot of people. I'm sure God will not overlook the good deeds that our Goblin had done with the same sword at the center of his heart. Yes, our Goblin is punished by remembering the deaths of the people whom he cared, the pain in his chest but hey, he gets to make gold, has awesome super power,
enjoys fine diningand meets the love of his life. I doubt that PJH got to experience all that judging by his filthy fingers, tattered garb and that horrible purple lips! I bet he didn't even get a bite of Subway ever in his 900 years of existence!!! The way he 'stretched' his neck and his sometimes-weak-walk showed how pathetic his demon life was. His wish was to get rid of Kim Sun which he didn't get to, yet he seemed 'content' that he's able to 'kill' Kim Shin the second time with the sword. He got his wish and so he ought to disappear forever since his wish was fulfilled.As for my wish:
Lets add more to that 900 years to another hmm let say 80 years spent with ET and GR and Sunny in future? Please writer nim....
I want to move from this current state so very much.

@bebebisous33 I never thought of this... Your opinion is a gem! Thank you for spotting that ET's birthday is on the 13th. I missed that one. I guess she's considered as unlucky since the day she was born. She did mention to KS that in her dictionary of life there's no such thing as "happiness" and "luck" if I'm not mistaken. Will watch this episode again

Popping in to join the festivity. Just watched the subbed version and I must say the drama got me completely hooked
when I'm still trying to forget WS in MLSHR. Having WY as the name of one of the characters somehow reminded me of the other WY so it's not helping me much eitherI can totally see myself becoming more and more invested in this drama. The combination of GY, LDW and KES = AWESOMENESS. Was expecting the drama/1st ep to be good but it turned out GREAT!
Can't wait for the live recaps from this thread. Thank you for the recaps and comments. They certainly make me understand and appreciate this drama more. Last but not least...

Saw the preview on tele and I must say LMH looks hotter and hotter by the day. When I saw the teasers on my lappy I thought the story looked promising but on tele, it looked awesome. Something must be wrong with my brain. Whatever it is, I'm psych just to see these looks on my screen soon!!!

Any news yet regarding the extra deleted scene? I'm still reading related news about MLSHR. I guess people are still upset with the ending. I'm somewhat glad that I managed to turn my sadness into something more positive. Was hoping that someone at DB would view the ending in a more positive light but I guess that didn't happen
Can't blame them though. I think my love toward LJG's acting and the 'love-story' as a whole might have played a part to 'justify' the open ending. Here are some of the comments from the re-cappers at DB:

Despite the show being frequently messy and flaw-ridden, I have found it very watchable, so I was hoping for an ending that, even if not perfectly satisfying, would provide a measure of closure and resolution. What we got, though? A finale that felt so pointless that it negated value retroactively from the rest of the series. I don’t care if there was extra footage filmed or more logical reasoning in the book or better intentions elsewhere: In the end, what is shown onscreen is the only story that truly happens in this drama. Who actually thought this was an acceptable finale episode to put on the air and put their names on?

The withdrawal is real. I watched the SBS version before going to bed and I was sobbing again. Gosh. What is wrong with me? Instead of focusing on other things, though I watch other dramas etc, I keep checking LJG's IG and going back to this thread to see if there's news about the cut modern scenes etc. Literally going insane in the membrane. Got to prepare for my presentation but all I can think about it MLSHR, specifically LJG
How nice if this was included in the final episode
Why can't modern HS see this kind of painting in the exhibition (Goryeo's royal happy family) instead of her walking with WW in winter? That was completely insignificant, historically. Gahhh

We get that WS is a very determined character and he wouldn't let HS go if he gets things done his way. Now that he knows that HS has always loved him, he's more determined than ever to find her and the eclipse is a foreshadow of his imminent time travel. This type of open-ending opens the floodgate for any interpretation of what could have or would have happened in future and I'm in the opinion that they will indeed meet and HS will fulfil her promise to really really love WS if they happen to meet at a different world, time and place. I will hang on to that thin thread just to maintain my Kdrama-life-sanity.

OK. I need to calm myself down. Perhaps with a tub of ice cream or a knife. Need a voodoo doll of the writer-nim while I'm at it. I know this is just a drama but I've never been this emotionally invested in any drama like this before. Heck I put the drama first before work, study and family. How could they do this to me? My drama life sucks at the moment. Will need another crack drama to mend my broken heart. Going to watch the SBS version tomorrow if I feel like it.

Can I say that this is unfair?
She's never been worried about not having anyone by her side and perhaps that's why she's willing to take the plunge and leave the palace. She knows that at least Jung will be by her side. But about our WS? YH is by his side out of her greed for power. JM and BA are both men so I'm leaving them out of the equation. Despite his awful sideburns, at least Jung treats HS sincerely with love. Arghhh. What has this drama done to me and my heart?

Episode 19? Hmm let me see. I was expecting to be utterly sad but surprisingly I wasn't. I was expecting WW to end up looking horrible but he looked normal. I want to see Won die but I guess we need someone to lie and lie and lie. I guess I'm still numb from the disappointment and sadness from the previous episodes.
My other half watched ep 19 with me and made this remark: IU's character has no sense of motivation. Are you sure she's from the 21st century?

When I saw this, I couldn't help but wonder how the writer will wrap things up for our OTP. Will they have a happy ending in the future? How will they meet? I want a fulfilling ending, the one with a definite closure where I can sleep at night with a smile on my face and not an ending where I have to play another guessing game. The next two days will be filled with emotional torture for me

I came across this poster just now when I was reading an article at Koala's Playground just now. The images of the princes on HS' fan are so on point! Eun and his sling shot cos he loved to play around, Won with his silver? (JM pointed out to HS that Won has always been interested in alchemy when he asked HS to give up in marrying WS), BA with his musical instrument cos he's into music and arts, Jung with his sword cos he's into fighting, WY with his bow and we know what he did with his bow to WE and SD, WW is not seen with his books but we get the sense that there are more to him than just his 'sweet' smile as he usually has things under his sleeves. Lastly, WS and his mask. The mask that hides his scar and later how he deals with the scar from his mother (physically and emotionally) followed by the scar in his heart when he's no longer with HS.
HS looked err like her usual self? Her life will forever be connected with the princes like the gust of wind that she gets from using that fan. You can feel the wind even though you can't see it. Her heart will always feel for those princes especially WS.

In BBJX, the eagle incident happened during Kangxi's reign. That incident ended 8th Prince's lifelong struggle to be the crown prince/emperor. The attention shifted to 14th prince to take over the throne as he became powerful as a grand general and was the favoured sonwith strong family backing from his maternal side. When 4th prince took over the throne by force - the 8th prince gang was up in arms to fight but were helpless against a very prepared 4th Prince who had Longkodo and Nian Gengyao. 14th prince was faraway from the palace in a battle. Ruoxi was also the first to kneel and greet 4th prince as emperor at the death bed of Kangxi. RX's guilt was extremely deep rooted as Kangxi was a father like figure to her and she knew 4th Prince didn't get the throne through an honourable way. But she knew history was at stake and went along with it.
Hence the 8th Prince punishment to kneel in front of a temple over some incident. Ruoxi prayed on her kneels, followed by standing for the whole night in her room to protest against the punishment. He was eventually released from his punishment but this was the beginning of the rift between 4th Prince and Ruoxi, 13th prince warned Ruoxi to let go of all matters related to 8th Prince to keep him safe but she couldn't due to her compassion to all the princes, not just because of her past relationship with 8th. Things just spiralled downwards from there. 8th Prince's story arch was really sad and I for one felt that 4th prince went overboard by getting him to divorce his wife - causing her to commit suicide. The misunderstanding between RX and 4th prince went deeper and deeper to the point where they had to part.

These as so spot on! Good job @Akiddo. They flow nicely with the rest of the plot, though I secretly hope that we'll get to see lots of sweet moments for our OTP be in it Goryeo or in future. Will WH really die? What's the cause of her death? I missed this if it has been discussed before in this thread. It's just sad that my 3 fav characters (WS, HS & BA) won't have their beloved by their side. I hope WS won't banish JM. He won't have any of his trusted circle and would be left with snake YH. Utterly sad and scary.
Not sure if anyone has posted this, but when I saw it, I couldn't help wondering if he is 'reenacting' the epic scene (without HS) in modern clothing

I think KS has this feeling that PJH will try to harm ET in order to hurt him but he's not sure whether it will happen that very moment or later. Hence, for their 'showdown' he chose that helicopter pad on the rooftop
to save filming budget and more mass destructionsto leave ET and asked her to summon him if something happens.I have this impression that the previous king didn't 'get rid' of WY despite knowing that WY could be a possible threat to his throne. He 'ignored' him and his (evil) tutor PJH so that WY could live and be a king one day. ET's power is 'unstable' because the goblin mark at the back of her neck is fading. It's still there but it's not as strong as before. KS made a comment about the faded mark during the scene in front of Sunny's house.
