I just finished watching ep 6 and it was... bad. I really don't want to say this, because I love this drama and KHN's Wang Wook so much, but this ep is just bad. There were many cute scenes, but the flow was bad and all the reasons for things to happen were terrible excuses. What did the princes think when they helped Soo escape? Where will she go? Her family already sold her. She has no place to go. And Wang Wook is just blandly weak and pathetic, like he said himself, today. I even hate the scene where Soo and 13th became friends and 4th and 13th got closer. They were poorly made, thinking about later on how deep their relationship should be. I mean, both 4th and 13th are not easily friended people, since 13th will help 4th get the throne later and even die in his place if needed (in the C-ver), the fact that they just got along today is just disturbed. And most of the romance in this ep were poorly made as well. I especially hate the scene where 8th hold HS's wrist and pull her sleeve up to cover her scar. It's like saying "I don't want to see it". For a modern girl (like me), I want someone to love me unconditionally, especially doesn't care about my scar (like HS with 4th's scar). I think HS noticed his attitude too, but she let it go, but I think later on when many things add up, their path will surely part. The scene after HS woke up and talked with 8th was bad. I don't even understand what it was for, except making 8th look weak. However, I really like the scene where HS cut herself. I think she was purely great and awesome. As the king said himself, she was even braver than a man. Yet I also think it was a bad move too, because if she was a Chinese, she will 100% be dead. The fact that the king just meh about her like that was not good. Another scene that I like was the look on 4th and 8th's face when the king told them that their excuses were not enough. I think their thirst for power starts there. One scene that I appreciate is the scene when HS walks pass 4th to see Concubine Oh. He sees the scar on her wrist clearly. I think his affection for her has definitely grown deeper, even to just a super light touch, like a flower petal touch the water surface kind of light, of love. He whose face was ruin by a scar not by his wish, understands very well how hectic life could be with a scar. Now it is the first time he ever she a girl who choose to have a scar and is totally fine (mentally). I think he adore her courage very much. Last but not least, HS's lines after she woke up: I protected what I want. So cool.

There are 2 scenes that I noticed very interesting: The scene when HS told her maid that she will run away, the maid said, "that's fine, even if they beat me to death, i won't say anything". If the maid is really a spy, she will know that HS will never run away after hearing what she said. The second scene, when all the princes were waiting outside, just before 8th carried bloody HS out, 9th said, "I'll go home first". I don't know what that action is supposed to mean. He's running away, not taking any responsibility in case the king comes out? Maybe?

Even though I know that 8th is a weaker man who has a weaker heart than 4th, according to the C-ver, yet the way K-ver made him look weak is just uncomfortable to watch. To date, the scene when HS and WW almost kissed is still my most loved scene in this drama so far. I can't wait to see them really kiss.

After watching the whole new ep with sub, I need to take about 5 hours to digest all the inf today. Now to think about it, many ppl say that WW does love Lady Hae so much, he just doesn't show. Well, there are so many kinds of love. I feel like his grief for her is more likely guilty for not knowing that she had been loving him all these years that much. As he cares for her like a husband's duty, he thinks that she cares for him just because of a wife's duty too. Yes, he knows that she likes him, but he doesn't know that she loves him that much. Again, it was a political marriage, and I think that is one of the reasons why WW never really opens his heart to his wife. He is more like, a fair player. She is nice to him, he is nice to her. And I think at that period of time, he is considered a good husband already, if only he doesn't fall in love with HS.

Back reading many (MANY) pages, I realized there are few things ppl have been discussing about:

1. The ranks of the princes: It is just the order of time when they were born. 4th and 8th are same age, but 4th was born earlier in the same year than 8th. And 5th, 6th,7th may had died or didn't involved in the story or they were princesses.

2. Why WW didn't step up for HS when she was whipped: I think because it was a fight between 2 ladies, so as a man he was uncomfortable to involve. In the C-ver when Rouxi and another lady fought, none of the princes said anything neither. Rouxi stopped her herself. Secondly, it was his sister whipping his sister-in-law, he would be wrong to help either side. Thirdly, his sister was in charge of the house, and there were maids, and other princes. WS could stop her because he was not in the same position, he doesn't have to consider that much. And he doesn't care anyway haha.

There are also many things that I feel very sad/disappointed about this ep:

1. Originally Rouxi and 13th were best of best friends. Like soulmates, without falling in love. He trusted her, and she trusted him, until they died. It was such a beautiful relationship that I love the most beside the main couple's love story. Seeing 13th scolding HS in this ep made me feel so sad.

2. I don't really understand the snow scene. Originally, Rouxi was walking alone in the snow, and 8th joined in, the difference between walking alone and having a companion (the warmth in snow) made both of them realize their feelings for each other. I personally think the C-ver didn't do a good job conveying those delicate emotions on screen, even though the cinematography was beautiful. In this K-ver, I feel like the snow scene has a different meaning. It was cute, but I don't see any depth in it.

3. Lady Hae makes me sad a lot. She tries to pair her husband and her sister together, but she knows that they feel guilty to her. But again, in those kinds of situations and positions (Lady Hae, HS, WW), doing anything is wrong, I guess.

4. I still don't know if Ji Mong has any power. Because if he does and he doesn't transport HS back to 21th century, it's very cruel to her. 

5. It will be extra hard for HS to survive when she can't read or write. OMG.

6. WW is such a second lead. He missed so many opportunities. To the lead. I like the scene when HS put his poem back to a book in his office, I choose to think that she doesn't want to destroy it (by the candle right there) because it was a real part of her heart, but she has to put it down and away, so she gives it back to WW without him knowing it (this is a physical return but also a door close in her mind, like out of sight out of mind), but the poem still exists as the evidence of their once existed feelings. Same goes for HS's bath salt for WW. Putting it away, but it is still there.

About ep 6, I agree that 4th and 8th will be partnered together to save HS. Just like C-ver. 

Btw, does anyone notice that the lyrics of "Forgetting you/ Forgetting love" (there were 2 names on youtube) by Davichi is all about WW-HS? I felt like fainted last night when reading the translation. It was so sad, yet so beautiful.

Are you referring to the original? I'm not sure about that in this version though. After all, everything is kinda different now.

About the relationship between WS and his mom, I don't think it's anything important about his scar. She just hates him. Even in the original, 4th's mom also hates him so much comparing to his younger brother, 14th. And he doesn't have any scar at all. She just hates him. No reason (or I don't remember). That's why in the C version 4th makes a lot of revenges on 14th (the throne was originally for 14th, but 4th rewrote the king's words and became the king, 14th couldn't see his father for the last time, when their mom died 14th couldn't see her either, Rouxi was made 14th's wife by his father but 4th prevented that, after Rouxi died 4th had 14th lived in their mom's palace, imagine a warrior living in a concubine's place). Well, I think they are just recreate the situation where 4th being hated by his mom. Don't dive too deep into this.

Both never met a girl like Soo in their life before. She is kind of one of a kind. It's natural to be attracted to something new and fun. Soo is new and fun is some way for them. 

In the beginning, both don't like Soo. So is kind of ignoring her but still follow her with his eyes. But Wook first impression with the 'new' Soo was bad because she was talking down to him and he waa worried Soo will troubled his wife. 

But Soo's actions and words slowly changed their heart. Wook attracted by Soo's independence and her don't want to burden him (although in reality she still is). So attracted to her because she is the first to treat him like human after the frightening stage passed away. She was worried about her and talk to him naturally. 

In this eps I once again can't help but think how the writer making their life opposite of each other. For So, his feeling for Soo is one that making him smile and acting cute (WS aegyo killed me!). So2 scene making my heart flutter and warm. Their interaction is so sweet. So is like a completely different person. He's not in love with him at this moment but it's developing that way. He begin to care for her. He won't follow and save her if he's not. 

Wook case is different. It hit him hard that he love Soo and can't live in the world where she's not around. For Wook, his love for Soo comes with a heavy burden. He aimed for the throne for a long time. He himself know that he can't be with Soo if he wants to be king. No matter what Lady Hae offer. Lady Hae comes respectable and powerful family. Soo is only her cousin (meaning: Lady Hae parents is important, Soo's not). That's why YH can beat her. He can't escape from that love, he falls too deep for that but he also can't persue it. I particularly drawn by his face at the bridge after he failed to kiss her and everybody arrived. That face literally said that love is a heavy one. He was upset that everyone there, interupted him and upset of himself for feeling what he's feeling. KHN is jjang here. Double Jjang! I think later on he didn't care who sees anymore. There's a scene he kiss her forehead in the trailer. But it's a heavy love his having. The one that breaks your heart and soul and leave you in the darkest place if you can't have it. 

I now can understand his shout. 'I missed you every moment', he says. He probably still miss her if he sees her. He only be fulfiled and satisfy if Soo is in his arm. 

Very well said. With a love like that, if WW is the main lead, their love would be very very warm, loyal and romantic, even more than most couples in our modern world. They will love each other passionately till the second they die. Just like the oath "Only death do us separate". Yet he is just the second lead. I can't help crying a river everytime I am reminded that he is only a second lead. Because, look, their affection is so beautiful!

Edit: By the way, does anyone have the translation of the new OST sung by DAVICHI's lyrics? Please share~~~ I will love you forever!!!!

Am I the only one on WW-HS's ship here? I have watched the original C-drama and I was absolutely the 4th's fan, but I just can't help falling in love with WW in this version. I do find WS is cute, and I know why WW will fall, but I just can't help myself. I feel soooooo heart-breaking watching today's ep just raw. I wonder how much more I will be hurt watching the sub. I was super anticipated for a kiss between WW and HS, but then it was interrupted. My inner beast was like "WHYYYYY? WAEEEEEE? OTOKEEEEEE!!!" Feel like I already have the second lead syndrome.

I know that WS will be the ultimate team, yet I hope that HS will accept WW even just a tiny short time, like the C-drama, so that I can have some beautiful shots to treasure in my heart. But then again, in the C version, Rouxi's sister doesn't love her husband at all, that's why Rouxi doesn't feel that sorry to fall in love with 8th. This may sounds creepy, but I really like the complexity of such "forbidden" relationship like this. OMG Kang Ha Neul just did a beyond best perfomance!
