Ok, Just saying. As a fan of Ji Hyo, I have always preferred a thousand times spartace than monday couple, but reading these answers you gave me, many of them, it is as if you do not want to hear anything that is contrary to your opinion, as if you closed the eyes to what you do not want to see, exactly like them .... really, it is disappointing to see. I thought that a shipper fandom could be healthy and rational.

For me, it is ONLY sad, that they are putting Ji hyo in a new loveline, it seems that this already has gone the heads of many here.

I understand why a JH fan will be upset about it.  A lot of us shippers here don't like that they turn SA into a loveline for RM/commercial purposes.  I don't think it has gone above the heads of many here.

But if you think about it, there's only 7 episodes left, 8 at most? They don't have the time to make a new love line. If the rest of the episodes are going to be special episodes revolving around a member each episode, they can't possibly formulate a love line.  And to be frank, Spartace isn't a newly developed thing.  It isn't something new that the production team formulated or noticed. This was noticed back in episode 21.  That's where it all started.  Sure it never got the frequency and attention that Monday Couple received, but it was always there.  The production team knew about it, everyone on the cast knew about.  JS, HaHa and KG brought up the Liger couple in episode 95.  This isn't new.

As a side note, I don't think any of the shippers here insisted anything they posted was the truth and the only truth. No one insisted that the views and thoughts of non shippers were not important, or that we don't want to listen to non shippers view.

But the issue here is, and pretty blatant in your post, "as if you closed the eyes to what you do not want to see, exactly like them .... really, it is disappointing to see".  What you posted there implied that what you see is the truth and what we see is fake and false.  It's like your opinion is above the shippers.  With that attitude when you post even if you don't post it blatantly like you did, people can detect that and of course they don't want to listen to it.  The thing is shippers here would like to hear other opinions, but if you make it seem like the shippers thoughts are absolute garbage compared to yours, that isn't warranted and I don't think that generates the healthy discussion you and I are looking for.

you guys keep saying fired as if spartace stopped the show while the rest continued, no they called them back pretty much right after and apologized and came to the agreement to end runningman early instead, anyway I think if spartace will be caught often alone then it would be quite interesting

You can't deny the fact that they were let go at a point in time to put into nicer terms if you do not prefer the word fired.  I don't think there's a better way to describe the event when people want to refer back to the unfortunate situation in their posts. In my opinion, I do not think SBS called them back per say or wanted them back.  It's probably the rest of the remaining members who gave SBS an ultimatum that they won't continue without the two.  There has always been an agreement with the members that they were going to end the show together, based on HaHa's management statement.  This wasn't an agreement between SBS and the cast.  But because if the cast ultimately agreed to end the show right then and there at the emergency meeting, SBS would be at a loss as to what to do.  They don't have a show to immediately replaced RM, and with the product placement money they probably receive for RM, they would be in more chaos.  They had to give into what the other members want to prevent screwing themselves further.

Anyways, the SBS award show was awkward as hell.  I follow a lot of the other variety shows, and the daesang winner was, imo, a pretty good choice.  Though the other awards winners were kind of debatable.  I think my feelings about the award show is right in line with everyone who has posted about the show.  The lack of screen time for RM members is sad.  Knowing the show is going to end, and there has been absolutely no tribute to a variety show that had made it's mark in the Hallyu Wave is pretty disappointing.  I think no one will argue against that RM has helped the Korean Variety shows make it's mark globally.  I didn't want JK and JH to get a pity award, but at least an award to honour the show could've been done.  It's clear that SBS cancelled the viewer's choice award bc they anticipated RM to win.  It seemed like SBS wanted nothing to do with RM anymore, which is so sad cause I feel any other channels would want to buy RM and anything associated with it.  The cast were no longer seated in front and centre at the awards show, even though I know the venue changed, but I mean it's clear that SBS wanted to avoid more RM controversy.  But it backfired in the end, cause Knetz can remember that the show has been cancelled and that RM was one of the most popular variety show at a point in time, and also one of the variety show that was and is earning money for SBS variety department.

Also that IG post about RM members not wanting awards but ending up giving one to LKS (LKS deserved that award, and his speech was a tearjerker for RM fans) was bullsht.  They would've publicized that before the awards show, and HaHa would not have been a nominee if that was the case.  KPop Star's judges were nominees for the DaeSang Award, but have withdrew from the contention because they didn't feel like they deserved it.  This made it to the articles.  So whatever bullsht SBS wanted to give to calm the fans down was a failure.  You could've tried harder, SBS.

Anyways, bittersweet to see the finals episodes come in the next month, but excited to see what the other members will be doing in 2017!

For all those who may wonder why SJH and KJK the two internationally most popular members were targeted, this article gives the answer, it's because they aren't comedians, and they wanted to try an all comedian cast lol:

    http://en.yibada.com/articles/179306/20161215/running-man-producers-fire-kim-jong-kook-song-jihyo-to-make-way-for-all-comedian-cast.htm

I think the article missed that LKS isn't a comedian either.  He's an actor first and foremost, though he may have funny antics, he was never a comedian and I don't think anyone considers him a gagman. I doubt that's the sole reason why, and there are other reasons why JK and JH were targeted.

  4. Also major thanks to @bogummish and @pink007 and everyone else for staying up to date with the news and keeping us all updated. Truly appreciated! And thanks again to @bogummish for translating!

This community in this thread has truly been one of the place online for RM fans to interact with each other without having anyone go down at anyone's throats, or giving out snarky remaks for having a differing opinion. So thanks to all you guys for keeping RM fandom a fun place to be in!

  5. @bogummish Whoops I guess I conveyed my message wrong. Too early for me to write properly. I'm sorry about that. I know the cast decided to quit, I was trying to say Im disappointed that they're still going on to film a couple more episodes and helping SBS and giving them more time to figure out their richard simmons when the cast doesnt have to.

Still want the cast to bycott the awards show, or namely JK and JH. Even if they give the two an award, we all know it's not an award they were planning to give them.

  6. Can I say that what both JH and JK just did is really admirable.  I would not have been able to do what they did given their situation. Having to go back to a place where you know the boss tossed you out and it wasn't even the boss who came to apologize to talk things. I like that the statements from JK and JH stressed that it wasn't an issue between them and the members/production crew, but with SBS internally that the audience do not know the face of.  The amount love JK and JH give to the fans is beautiful.  Both of them know how much the fans love and appreciate the two, and how much the fans were caught off guard. You two are amazing in what you do and who you are as a person.

I can't say I'm not disappointed that there are more than one filming now.  Filmings are still going to be awkward as hell, the morale of the cast will take time to get back to where they left off. I hope the PDs dedicate the remaining episodes to just the 6 of them, they deserve to recover from this without guests. And guests shouldn't have to be in an environment of walking on egg shells knowing this went down.

Also applauding the rest of the members choosing to leave and end the show on February instead of right now because out of consideration for the crew and SBS to find a new show to replace RM. Even though SBS doesn't deserve what the cast is doing for the network. And for sure as hell does not deserve the class and grace JH and JK has shown throughout this whole thing.

I never imagined RM ending would play out like this.

  7. If the emergency meeting they're referring to right now is the one before the news of JK and JH leaving, it doesn't add up.  KS's and HaHa's agency would have better thought out statements.

Also for JSJ's radio show, I think he has another MC for the radio show to help him out when he needs to film for RM, so I think he probably has some one in his place right now if the meeting is going on.

    Everything is a mess.

From what I gathered from KJKIntl's report, it seems like the cast met up and came up with a decision.  The production team wasn't involved in that meeting and did not know about it.  Cast probably called up the production team to tell them what they decided.  If the cast decides the leave, then it comes down to the discussion whether RM season 2 should be pursued like FO2, or end RM all together (and the cast will give opinions on that, since they made the show what it is and may want to just close the chapter).

  8. Okay, I don't get why JK and JH needs to be there since they've already been dismissed, it's not like the production team have any power at the meeting to hire them again. Are they suppose to sit there and hear apologies coming at them again, I guess more sincere apologies bc they've worked with them. Like I don't get the point, the future of the show is out of their control now.

  9. Is the all now just the 4? Lol, hopefully they're meeting without PDs and officials.

Edit: So JK and JH are there too, talking about how they think the future should look like.  At least this shows that the members did have plans to try to end the show together. But like seriously why the hell does JK and JH need to state their opinions too about the show when they're already dismissed.

  10. @bogummish That may be true and may not be fair to JK, but I just don't see why there's a need to air out this dirty laundry.  I know Tiny means well in trying to protect JK and defend him.  But the consequences from releasing this vague hints at who may sparked the ideas of firing him and reaching the hands of fans is not a good thing.  The mob mentality with fans and potential attacking of this person partly responsible for the firing isn't necessary.  Think of this too, if SBS sees that someone from JK's side is airing this vague details onto the internet, wouldn't SBS be cautious of having JK on the network in the future.  I don't know, I just don't view this "eye for an eye" a good thing. I don't know, it's just a sucky situation overall, and like you said, there's so much more we don't know, and fans are entitled to do whatever they wish with these details being posted out, but the aftermath of whatever the fans plan to do may not be good for anyone.

  11. I think as fans we have to accept that firing happens, and whoever made the decision to let JH and JK go has the right to do so.  At the end of the day it's business. Revealing who is responsible for firing isn't the best thing for fans to do. This retaliation behind the firing isn't necessary.  Whether the reasons for letting JH or JK go are deemed valid by fans or anyone, at the end of the day SBS like any company or boss has the right to let people go if they no longer fit the direction of where the program is going.

I don't think what Tiny is doing, further making the fire bigger, is helping with the situation at all. JK and his team may be taken by surprise that he was let go, but like any business, nothing is guaranteed.  Was the handling of the firing a mess? Yes.  The way SBS handled it was terrible.  Does SBS have the right to let JH and JK go? They absolutely have the right to be let go from the company if they no longer fit what SBS has in plans.  Does the Chief PD have a right to make the decision with other higher ups? Yes, I'm sure the Chief PD was the one that initiated discussions surrounding JH/JK's dismissal, at the same time, there's no way in hell that he didn't consult anyone and let them go.  That's a terrible way of how a company will work.  There must have been discussions with some other people as they were already planning for a season 2, so the entire blame shouldn't be placed on the Chief PD.  Yes he was the one to probably spark that idea, but at the end of the day, more than one person probably agreed on that decision.  Does JK and his team have the right to be frustrated? Absolutely, everyone has the right to feel angry and frustrated that they've been dismissed from their job, especially considering the way it was handled.  But his team/fans have to accept that there's no guarantees and with like any normal average jobs, even with any contracts, people can still be dismissed.  Anyways, all I'm trying to get at is SBS has the right to let people go despite how it's been handled and shouldn't jump at the Chief PD who has numerous fingers pointed at him right now.  When it boils down to it, he's just doing his job, even though the way it was handled was terrible.  People need to accept that everyone can be dismissed regardless of star power.   Trust me I'm upset with the dismissal of both JH and JK, but just because they have dedicated 7 years to the show doesn't guarantee that they should be on the show forever.  The way it was handled was terrible.  But at the end of the day, we don't know who even leaked and caused this mess, maybe someone who is not the Chief PD was suppose to deliver the news, but didn't do it until the last minute.

  12. Was JSJ and HaHa following RM's IG to begin with? Cause if I recall, only LKS was following RM's IG page.

But anyway, I think fans are expecting too much from the remaining members.  They are stuck between a rock and a hard place.  Say the remaining 4 renewed their contract under the impression that JK and JH are also being invited to renew, and then finding out that they've been fired after contract renewal.  They'll be legally bound to SBS to continue the show.  They can speak up against SBS, but that's also killing their chances of landing a job with a pretty big network. I'm sure JK and JH don't want the 4 members to have suffer more for something that is beyond their control.  None of this is any of the members' fault, and they shouldn't be held by fans to resign or drop the show.  I understand where fans are coming from, they want to see the cast stick together because they've been through all the hardships together these past 7 years.  But they have to also understand that for some, namely JSJ, this is his major bread maker right now, aside from his radio show.   Aside from the cast, VJ's will lose one of their job assignments, writers and PD's as well, anyone literally who works on site will be short one job assignment.  If JH and JK aren't speaking out without their agency, why would anyone think that the remaining 4 members should take the risk and voice their concerns.  They're not going to ask their management/agency to release a statement, because that's a terrible move and their team will not allow that. I'm sure the members have been in contact with each other, giving each other support and all members are going through a difficult time, not just JH and JK.  Just from what we know of JH and JK, I highly doubt they want them to leave the show just because they've been fired and disrespected.  There are more ways of showing support than having the others leave the show, ways that fans don't need to see to believe it.

  13. Third day of SBS being a thorn on my side, second morning waking up being frustrated.

That apology was to save their asses and they're only sorry that they were caught on their lies. How the hell is that apology suppose to give JK/Jh any closure, hell the cast for that matter.  How are you unable to communicate with someone who sweat and bled for the show these past 7 years?

Also they're only issuing this apology because their plans for season 2 fell through. KHD apologized to the viewers, where was the viewers in SBS's apology? It's like they don't even care.

Also, "treated them like family for 7 years", SBS trying to kill me with the jokes. If they were like family, you would have the decency to inform them with more than a week's notice about their last filming. Get over yourself, SBS. Don't pull the card where you victimize yourself for working too hard and were in a rush to finalize your season 2 plans and weren't able to properly contact employees who helped bring your show to the international stage. These factors were all in your control, should've better scheduled your plans for season 2 then. Don't freaking leave your plans that would start at 2017 until the end of 2016 to finalize everything. Just shows how incompetent the department is, can't even do something basic such as organizing a meeting with your employees and giving them enough notice or really just organizing themselves.  Get over yourself, SBS.

I don't want them to attend the last film cause I can't imagine how painful it is for JK, JH, remaining members and the on site crew to film knowing this whole richard simmons went down. But they're probably contractally obliged to attend, but hey if they skip they probably just have to pay a penalty fee. But knowing JK and JH they probably want to film the last episode for the fans as closure.

SA for sure by now aren't attending the awards show, the bridges have been burned. And they're probably not obliged to attend. Why would they show up when everyone in the room knows what went down. It's going to be uncomfortable for the remaining 4, but YJS better not issue an apology, it's not his responsibility and he should not bear that burden. Can't believe I want RM to go down in flames now, at least season 2. Could've gone out with a bang for season 1 and then move on to season 2, but the brand has been tarnished and can't be recovered now.

  14. "Kim Jong Kook’s side has spoken about this matter.

A source stated, “We first heard from the producers of ‘Running Man’ that they would be reformatting the show, but we knew only that they were making changes to the lineup. We were later informed by phone that [Kim Jong Kook] would be leaving the show, two days before the reports came out.”

So statements are starting to change. So before it was just they were planning to reformat the show, no mentions of change to line up, but now they're saying they knew of potential changes to lineup. Which doesn't make sense to me because if they knew, everyone must have prepared to be axed as there's no guarantees, except for YJS, Tiny wouldn't have reacted the way they had, and I'm sure JK's and JH's team wouldn't have reacted the way they did when initial reports came out.  We can see now the teams are changing up their statements to make sure it doesn't do further harm to SBS...

@chelseafjl8 I think the Chief PD decided to fire JH after firing JK, and I think he probably wanted to call her beforehand, but someone from SBS leaked out before he was able to contact her?. Idk, it doesn't make sense to me that someone would fire someone without notifying them.  I'm probably giving him too much benefit of the doubt here right now. Oh well, whoever leaked it out clearly wanted to see SBS Variety Department to go down in flames.

  15. @myrunningman1 I think one of the things being speculated with JK being axed instead of JSJ is the high appearance fee that KHD comes with.  I imagine after JS's appearance fee, JK has the second highest appearance fee.  I think SBS Variety Department is going through budget cuts at the moment, and aren't able to afford paying all these high appearance fee? But then again, I'm sure there's something more that we don't know about. Could be that the Chief Producer doesn't see any value in JK or does not like him which is absurd, because a lot of entertainment insiders and professionals praise JK and his work ethic.

Also who the hell is going to clean up this mess now? They better not make JS stand up again at the awards ceremony and apologize or anyone else on the cast.  It's not their fault, nor is it the production team.

  16. This is clearly not panning out how the Chief Producer envisioned to. The producer must have gotten on someone's bad side for them to leak out the news yesterday.  One decision by one person clearly richard simmons up a lot of things for many people.  JH and JK suffered the most from this ordeal, but the rest of the cast did too as well as the PDs, writers, FDs, VJs, and anyone else on the production team.  I can't help but laugh that the Chief producer didn't think that firing two original members was going to cause a ruckus.  I mean if he wanted a big change for RM, he got it now, the potential end of the show that seems more real than it did before.  If they go back into discussion with JH and JK, I hope they reject the offer and move on. They deserve more than this, hell the rest of the cast and production team (though I've been pretty hard on them) deserve better too.  What kind of decision is this to leave everyone who do the labour and hard work for the show in the dark, and I'm pretty sure they're still in a "wtf" mind set right now.  Anyways, excited to see JH's new beauty show and learn beauty lessons alongside with JH, and hopefully more good things to come with JK and his music and potential shows! They'll succeed in what they do with their work ethic and dedication we were able to observe these past 7 years!

  17. Looking ahead, from the reports of JK be seen at JTBC, I'm hoping he's being casted for Crime Scene Season 3, kind of forgot about Crime Scene Season 3 with the recent mess of a news. Crime Scene has been enjoyed by K-netz, and JK seems like he'll be able to do well on the show, some role playing involved with solving mysteries.  Seems like a show that would allow him to use his intellect and wit that we see with his commander character, plus the role playing is something that he seems to enjoy on RM.  Also it's on a cable network, so less restrictions I guess to what is approved to be aired. So far Crime Scene Season 3 has been confirmed, but no announcements of who's attached on to it yet, so I have my fingers crossed that he's in the talks for it.
