This is very true. I watched the movie before reading the books, and I thought it was better than maybe doing it the other way around. Plus if you read after you watch, you can visualize every character in your head.
BLAH why do people keep comparing Rob with Efron? There's no comparison. I feel like Zac Efron's face is one that you think is attractive at first. But the more you look at it, the less intrigued/interested you become. But with Rob's, you can't help but keep staring at it.
i read the books before i watched the movie. and i know wad u mean exactly. but for those ppl who already read the book,
u just need to have an open mind when u enter the cinema. i really expected it to be BAD> but i actually liked the movie.
even though itz abit too rushed for them to relate the intensity of the relationship between bella and edward.
and also between the edward.
and PLEASSEEEE our robert beats hands down. talented in acting, music.

And I totally agree with you... or meyers, the last book is way to long for 1 movie.
But it would be nearly impossible to split the movie so... maybe they'll extend the movie length.
i think the last book can probably be split in 2.
like 1st part -> bella edward wedding + honeymoon (i am surw we dont wanna miss THAT)
and how she got preg and turned vamp. leading to how they found out the italian vamps are coming over to folks.
and then the movie can end
2nd part -> the prep for the battle and until the end hahahhaa

Yes, he's had tremendous success working with tweens and teens (About A Boy as director and writer, American Pie as producer and uncredited director). But Chris Weitz also did The Golden Compass (as writer and director), and my source says Summit Entertainment liked the look of that even if it didn't heat up the domestic box office (but did better overseas). I don't have official confirmation yet that this Twilight sequel offer has gone out to Weitz. But my insider says another reason it came down is because Weitz and Summit's president of production Eric Feig are longtime pals. The source tells me Weitz is "still considering" the offer to helm New Moon and possibly also Eclipse if the sequel and threequel movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's series of vampire books are made back-to-back. This info follows my news that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is off the film franchise.
I have a question. like they are doing book 2 and 3 back to back which sorta make sense.
but for book 4 didnt stephenie meyers said it needs to be done in 2 movies? because book 4 is like so long
honestly i couldnt care less who directs the film as long as he stays true to the book and make the movie rocking good

I think he really does make her laugh.. She was kinda shy during the interview (maybe confused with the whole french voice-over thing) and she was like looking at him "HELP!" hehe.. she keeps on gazing at him..
i think he really did try his best to handle all the more technical questions. LOL when they were in the states u can see robert just allowed kristen to stumble her way through interviews. but for this particular friench one he is like helping her along the way.
kristen was like shooting "rob HELP ME" glances when they shoot a general questions and he answered them LOL

One issue was how to get more of teen heartthrob Pattinson into the film. (Rosenberg has figured out a device to achieve this.) But Hardwicke, burned out from her "Twilight" labors, simply wasn't willing to jam this movie with a script that still needed months of development.
Reminder: Guys, please continue voting for the Twilight boys as the Sexiest group of 2008. They are now in the lead, thank God! I just won't accept it if they are beaten by the Jonas Brothers who are not at all hot..they are cute but hot? Give me a break!
I think rob felt the same way regarding the character. because in the 2nd book edward appeared in only the 1st few chapters
and the LAST few chapters.
robert was hoping that submit will stay true to the book so as to depict bella's slow depression without edward in her life for that few months.
but for retail marketing wise, itz a BAD IDEA. because ok let's just admit it.
we do watch the movie because of edward (and because rob is IN the movie as a leading character).
and when we are reading the book we can like SKIP the chunk in the middle and moved on to the part where bella tried to save edward
(or well thatz wad i do. WHO CARES about jacobs LOLL sorry jacobs fans)
but for the movie, i dont think edward fans wanna pay for a movie with 15mins worth of edward screen time.
i think stephanie meyers needs to chip in some ideas.
because itz conflicting. viewers want more edward when infact there's very little of edward in the 2nd book.
LOL so i think they need to make some choices.
i think if i can make a choice, i would start off the movie with bella being alone and depressed
and she gets flash backs as to how jasper tried to attack her when she cut herself and how edward told her gdbye.
they need to snap off all those excessive scenes. focus abit more on how jacobs became bella's best friend.
and then for the last 45mins there needs to be a ton of edward scenes LOL

Director Catherine Hardwicke Fired From Twilight Sequels!
UPDATE: The movie studio has released the following statement: “Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted Twilight film franchise. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for New Moon.
“I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct New Moon,” said Hardwicke. “Directing Twilight has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel– it is a great story.”
“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the Twilight franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.

Subsequently, Summit has been quietly meeting with other directors in order to quickly find a replacement for Hardwicke. Tough break for her, but on one hand, this could mean good news for some Twilight fans, while on the other, bad news for those who did love her film.

Yea. i think the contract should stand. 3 movies.
but i really do wish they can film the movie bvack to back. instead shooting one at a time.
that way, they will not be able to leave the movie LOL
because technically they signed for 3movies.

i also think submit should change/improve their editing team. the movie was so choppy.
