父は料理人です。(chichi ha ryourinin/shefu desu) <-- shefu for more professional, ryourinin literally means "cooking person" aka cook

母はキャッシャーです。(haha ha kyasshyaa desu)

assuming formal tone.. x__x and i probably botched the romaji haha ><

Ehh, I thought a cook was コック.

A chef isn't a cook, is it?

Your URGENT HELP needed! お願いします!

My Japanese teacher will be leaving by the end of December, so I would like to write a farewell letter to her =(

Hope someone can help me in translation cause I'm going to give this to her soon.

先生, you are going back to Japan soon.

Do you know the whole class would like you to stay longer and continue to teach us for the next lessons?

All of us love to attend your class, because it is always full of laughters and we love to see your smile.

Although you just taught us for half year, a period that is not too long nor too short.

But our relationships has become so intimate and all of us feel comfortable being together.

先生, I'm sure that we wont forget about you.

We will always revise Japanese studies as you always ask us to do so.

Lastly, stay healthy and happy always.

The most important thing is, smile always!

You can add some warm words and please let me know the meaning :)

And this,

Wish you a Merry Christmas!!! The very word that brings joy to our hearts. Smile always!

Sorry for the long and I really appreciate for your help!

今週は忙しい >_<

中間試験が二つある。明日もう一つがあるから勉強しなければならない。

でも、今週末を楽しみにしている。九州の大分県と熊本県に行くつもりです。

I'm really excited :) I'm skipping class on Monday (the only day we have class next week =/) so I can stay in Kyushu longer.

こんにちは みなさん!お元気ですか? ^^

Please help me translate/correct these, お願いします!

I have to write about my favourite restaurant.

1) It's in the middle of Chinatown. 中華街の中にあります?

2) It looks small on the outside, but it's big on the inside.

3) The staff is Korean. スタッフは韓国人です?

4)The waiter's name was YoungJae. He was very kind and interesting/funny. ウエーターの名前は_____です。やさしいとおもしろい人です?

5) The chef was/is a very good chef because my food was delicious. シェフはいいなシェフですよ。私の食べ物はおいしいですから?

6) The foods are inexpensive. 食べ物は高くないですよ。(Is it okay to say it like that if the following sentence is みなさんもきて下さい?)

Sorry for so many lines!! ><

But, I would greatly appreciate the help! =D

^ I translated the sentence that the girl spoke.

あたしを助けてくれたの?どうして?

Did you save me? Why?

And the text near the second picture:

シオンはリクが助けてくれる理由は思いつかないらしい

it seems that Shion can't think of a reason for saving Riku.

Silent Tears:I can't translate the long text, ごめん。

先生, you are going back to Japan soon.

先生、もうすぐ二本へと戻ります。

先生, I'm sure that we wont forget about you.

きっと先生のことを忘れてしません。

Key Point - Relationship to Rick

News - Newly Created

(Top Image) "You should search for the best answer for everyone."

(Top Image Commentary) "Rick, who's heart is covered in darkness, shows his own kind of concern for her.

(Main Body) "Last scene she appeared to be fighting with rick once again, but it seems like they have met, once again, and are talking. From Sion's point of view, it looks like Rick is saving her, but whatever is the reason for Rick to save Sion?"

(Bottom Image) "You saved me? Why?"

(Bottom Image Commentary) "Looks like Sion can't think of a reason for Rick to save her."

Is joining a fansub group better to strengthen one's Japanese?

My Japanese is still not that good and I don't feel like I'm improving :(

So, I was wondering if I joined a fansub group or started to translate lyrics, would it improve it?

Lyrics are too abstract; it would be too difficult to make sense out of them for the most part. The best way is to read. If you can't manage books, read comics. If you do fansubs, translate comic books. I think that would be the fastest for sure.

I'm doing a project for Japanese class about Obon but I can't find much info on it.

Does anyone know what are actually on the paper lanterns during toronagashi? Also can the paper be any color or are they suppose to be of a white/clear type of paper. Thanks!

i *think* that the white lanterns are for those people that have died a year ago/less than a year ago.

colored ones are for people who have been dead 2 years +.

(i could have that backwards though....)

khul Thank you for answering my question.

Lately, I've been doing many translations and I can say that my understanding is getting better and better.

So I think I'll stick with what you advised me to do and good luck to me :P
