  1. Hello Ladies:

Well like the rest of you, I too am tired of waiting for our man SIK to do another Drama. But, I don't think it will happen soon and at my age , probably never. So I did the next  best thing, I watched Jumong for the 12th time. Gosh he is such a great actor and It's kind of sad that he  has chosen not to do anything in all these years after such a successful career as an actor  .Anyway, he will always be "The Korean John Wayne- Never Makes a Bad Drama".So up next is "Kingdom of the Wind".

  2. Hi K.B.

It's so nice to hear from you again. Yes, all of us are very disappointed that there has not been  an historical drama in quite awhile. Time will tell and I do miss his acting. Again, I want to thank you for all that you did for me. You are a special friend.

  3. Hi Ladies: Gosh, It's been a long time since I posted anything here. I visit this site everyday hoping that SIK will announce that he is going to do another  Historical Drama. But, I don't think that it will happen anytime soon since he is raising his triplets. For those of you that don't know who I am, I have been a member of this site since 4-4-08 and if you go back to page 402 you will see me there. It was Konabean that got me all those great pictures and autographs from SIK, and every time I look at them, it puts a smile on my face. Thanks again KB for all that you did for me .

7 K-Dramas Turning 10 Years Old In 2018 That Should Be On Your Watchlist

A lot can happen in 10 years — music trends change, fashions go in and out of style, and personal tastes evolve. But one thing that never changes is the power of a great story to suck you in and enchant your mind. That’s something Korean television has always been great at — delivering a compelling story. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Korean dramas or new to Korean entertainment, we’ve got a list of seven dramas turning 10 this year that are definitely worth watching and re-watching as time goes by!

    The Kingdom of the Winds

Do you believe in destiny? When a prophecy declares that the kingdom’s young prince (Song Il Gook) will one day kill his entire family and cause the downfall of the country, the King sends his son away. But will it be enough for them all to escape the prophecy and fate?

Perfect for fans of: “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo”

  6. Hi Ladies:  Yes, It's me again, Mr. Hummer. Getting older each day but I'm here every day reading all of your posts. Glad to see that SIK is successful in 42nd St. He looks like he's having a great time. I have come to the conclusion that he is taking his acting in a different direction. I believe that when he fell of the horse while filming KOTW, his injury was greater than we were made aware of. I am sad to say that he probably will not do another historical drama again. Raising his 3 boys is his number one priority now. He is such a great historical actor too and I've noticed that there are fewer historical dramas being made lately. I guess times have changed and historical dramas have run It's course. I will miss seeing him in a historical drama and "thanks to Kona Bean" I do have his autographed pictures on my wall as a reminder of his friendship to me even though we have never met and it always put a smile on my face. God Bless SIK and him family. He had such a great run of historical dramas and yes, I do have Jumong, KOTW and EOTS in my library and will watch them again. Have a great day Ladies.

  7. Hi Ladies: Well, I just finished watching Jang Yeong Sil and I thought that our man SIK did a  great job considering what the writers gave him. He was very strong in the beginning but after that, it seamed that the writers wanted every one else around him to be a main character as well. But the final episode, showed how great of an actor he is. You could feel how he felt in the final episode. His final scenes with the King was Song Il Kook at his best. Although It wasn't an historical drama, I always enjoy watching SIK act. Now the waiting begins all over again. When and what will he do next. We all can only wait and see .Lets hope we hear something soon.

  8. Hi Ladies: Well I have just finished watching episode 8 and Our man SIK has not lost a step as far as his ability to act.  This is such a great drama and SIK is doing a great job. I can't wait for the next episode. In the past I have always waited for a drama to be completed before I would begin to watch but It has been so long since SIK has done anything that I can't wait to see him in a drama. One of the sites that I visit says that this drama has 50 episodes and another says that It's only 24 episodes. What ever it is, I'll be watching.

  9. HI K.B.

Yes, I did see the site that one of the ladies mentioned. I have not heard of this site before but It's in my Favorites now and I will be using it to watch other historical dramas that I want to see. Like you, I am surprised that they were able to add Eng. subs so soon. I've already watched Ep. 1 and like it.  I also like the guy that plays SIK's dad in Ep.1. He also was in KOTW. Also a few familiar faces from past historical dramas. K.B. I'm so happy that SIK is back and doing a historical drama. It has been a very long wait for all of us. And at my age, time is everything.  I just hope this is just the beginning of more dramas to come. He is after all......."The Korean John Wayne-Never Makes a Bad Drama".

  11. Hi Ladies: Well, I have wanted to say the exact thing that "ebullient" said. For those that do not know me, I joined Soompi  on April 4th, 2005 as hummer75 but because of a technical problem, I had to re-register as hummer82 (which is my age). I first joined the SIK thread on Jan. 30, 2009. While channel surfing the tv one evening, I came across 3 guys sitting in a horse barn drinking wine. I did not know at the time what I was watching but I got hooked on that drama and watched it till the end and it had eng. subs. It was "EMPEROR OF THE SEA". What a great drama and Song Il Kook  became my favorite actor in historical dramas.

I have watched all of his dramas and have purchased a few of his dramas.  Jumong will always be my favorite and I have watched it 9 times already. I only watch historical dramas but with SIK I watch all of his dramas. I refer to him on this site as "THE KOREAN JOHN WAYNE - NEVER MAKES A BAD DRAMA".

Because of the friendship that I have with a wonderful lady that keeps this site going I am very happy to say that I have signed autograph pictures of Song Il Kook hanging on my wall and SIK knows who Mr. hummer is. I'm proud of that.

I think that his triplets are very cute and I'm sure that he is a great father but I visit this site every day hoping to read news about any new drama he may be doing but the boys have taken over this thread. Maybe they should have their own thread. I don't know. I mean this in a nice way and don't want to offend anyone here.

I just hope that SIK does a Historical Drama very soon. That's why I'm here every day hoping to read something about that. Have a nice day Ladies.

  12. Hi Ladies:

Just want to give all of you a heads up. You can watch All of SIK's dramas on AZNV.TV.  I have been using it for years and have no problem with it and all of the episodes are not broken up in Part 1. 2; 3 etc.

HI doodoofan7!!!!!!!  Welcome to this great SIK site. By the way, I have watched Jumong 10 times now and will watch it again soon. I refer to him as my "Korean John Wayne". I am probably the only male person that visits this site daily and I do post comments occasionally. Again, Welcome.

  13. HI Ladies:  Well, something very funny happened last nite. I recently ordered the extended package from Comcast and one of the stations I now get is a Korean station out of L.A. Last nite I turned it on and there he was...............Song Il Kook in a drama that I have never see. It was in Korean with no subs from 2005. I checked it out and I think it was Art of Seduction. I just thought that it was funny. I'll tune in from time to time just to see whats happening.

  14.  fans.Hi Ladies:   I want to thank all of you for your warm welcome back. It has been a touch year for my wife and I, but we are fine now.  KB..if you are able to get me a signed pic of SIK, It would be wonderful. I see a lot of new faces here which is great for all of us SIK fans. I just finished watching KOTW jast week and I realized how great of an actor he really is. Yes, KB, it has been a long time since I watched 3 guys drinking wine in the barn. I have been hooked ever since. By the way I did watch EOTS a couple of months ago and it was great.

Hi Ardently,It's so nice to see that you are still here. It's both you  and KB  that keeps this site going. Talk to you ladies later,

    hummer82

  15. Hello Ladies......Well it has been a very long time since my last post. I use to be( hummer75) but my acct. was cancelled so I had to register as hummer82 which by the way is my age now. It has been a very bad year for my family. My wife had to have back surgery and after she recovered from that she got hit by a car while crossing the street in a crosswalk. No broken bones thank God, but a lot of bruses. Then after that, I fell off a ladder while trying to help my daughter. Got laid up for a few months. During all of that, our computer went out. We are now all back to normal.

I kept myself busy watching all of our SIK dramas. Such as Jumong, KOTW, Water Flower Village, plus  Dong Yi, Ye San and some other dramas. Since I have been out of touch can anyone tell me if Our man  SIK has done any other drama yet. I'm glad to be back and I'm trying to get caught up with all of the posts that I missed.

    Later, hummer82
