Not being a fan of historical k-dramas, I gave SOGC a try. After reading the final recaps, I'm glad I dropped it around episode 10. JH still reigns and shines in my k-drama sky. I hope he is in another drama soon.

Who is the actor portraying General Kwak? He is fabulous! I love the baddies to be bad and have the voice and costuming to go with the role. Awesome job stylist and Mr. Actor Whoever You Are.
Maybe WS will have the black ninjas kidnap SY, taking her off to the mountain to wait for WS. WS will be king just long enough to proclaim his marriage legal and go crazy on the noblemen, then high tail it for the hills to live happily ever after with SY. Another possibility, GK might decide he wants SY for his wife since he was tricked the last time, so he kidnaps her and hides her in safety for awhile, but before he can make her his, she's rescued by WS, WW, SW, oh just anybody...
Another actor I'm loving in a supporting role is SY's brother. Great comedic relief! I don't usually care for his type of character, but I absolute adore this guy.

Maybe General Kwak will kidnap the bride-to-be before the wedding. Don't give up hope everyone. Brighter days ahead. But I do wish this drama would live up to its name, either SHINE or GO CRAZY!! Come on Ninja forces do your deed! Get rid of those scheming nobles and get control of your country back. Come on! Put WS on the throne and let him SHINE as king, bringing his nation forward to enlightenment! Let's have more action and less talk!

The prenatal instructor has made an appearance in another drama: Perseverance, Goo Hae Ra. She shares an imaginary kimchi kiss of the FtLY ramen variety with her hunky flatmate crush. It's epic fail, but funny. :-*

Did WSR's Shadow guard think to himself about a sister when he met YW? It's got to be SY. Does he know it's SY? And where did that come from all of a sudden? I remember reading that theory on this board somewhere, looks like you may have guessed that right.

I was totally transfixed today by the Dowager Queen. Watching raw without subs, I just couldn't take my eyes off of her. Who is that actress? She is knocking that role out of the park.
Also, I'm loving to hate on YW. I'm looking forward to not liking her more and more!!!!
Kudos to the stylist/costumer! YW and Dowager Queen are wearing some seriously gorgeous royal robes and hair jewlery. I wonder how long it takes the cast to go through hair, wardrobe, and make-up each day?

Next day at Chunghae Trading Company. Wang Woo is wrecking the place. Draws a sword but is stopped by WW. WW gets injured and SY tends his wound. I think he makes some kind of declaration while they are alone. Ending scene, WW hugs SY. No preview.
I had good streaming today, so I thought I would give it a try. I forgot about spoiler tags for those who don't want to know and see for themselves. Forgive me and if I recap again, I'll try to remember that little detail.

The scenes keep switching between WSR's table and WS's table with his friend. Both are plotting against each other, but I don't know what's being said. Somethng about the triangular pieces.

I think this is reveal scene... Ws has left the king and is sneakily crawling into SY's room. She's undressing.

SY says something that causes WS to have a memory of GB. SY leaves and returns with a book. I assume it's an accounting book, but I dont' know that. The king looks at it. Then he and WS leave. WS looks very curiously at SY...

I think SY's brother just found out who So So is from BM and the other guy. Funny. Next scene King and Wang So are being served tea by SY. She's wearing the big hat with the veil. The king's servant puts some kind of paper on the table and they talk about it. Cut back to SY's brother with BM and the other guy. Funny. Now it's back to SY, WS and King.

So So meets GB. Here comes the King. BM grabs GB away because King is asking for the assistant head. GB changing clothes. King sees WS at Chunghae Trading Company. Not a good conversation. SY, WS, and the King all in the same room.

Ws is entering Chunghae Trading Company. Cut to BM and that servant guy talking at a table. So So comes in and hugs Kyeong. BM's manner to So So has changed. Both are treating him with respect now. The brother comes in and he's clueless. Ranting about his gambling losses is my guess. ha!

Looks like WSR is planting doubts about WS's loyalty to the King.

I just watched ep 9 again and I think WS is going to pass out and that will spare SY's life. His vision was really blurry there at the end.
Was that a look of affection and tenderness from WS' mom when she's looking at him at the competition? Great acting by that actress!
Also the subtle look WS' face after he hands the sword to the King. He's telling him "I'm on your side." and it's full of brotherly love and respect for his brother's position as King with just a look. Great job JH!
Did SY answer wisely or what? Smart girl!
