IMO, KSH's scandal did expose fans of 2D1N S4, they only watch for KSH, not 1 night 2 days. I'm happy that I can say I watch 2 Days 1 Night because I love the show. They show Korea, even show hidden gems in Korea that people didn't know exist. 1 night 2 days members travel across around Korea to uncover little-known areas and introducing lesser-known Korean dishes and exploring their cultures. Nobody truly knows why did they even decide to watch 2D1N, almost people say KSH (I think they are fake fan of 2D1N). In fact, Dindin, Moon Seyoon, Ravi, Kim Jongmin and Yeon Junghoon play important role for 2 Days 1 Night. Without them, 2D1N S4 will not be where they are now.

I have been watching 1 Night 2 Days since season 1, I have seen people said "It won't be same without MC Mong or Kim C or Lee Sugeun or Hodong, some people wish old member come back to the show. But 1 Night 2 Days can still make me feel good. I think KBS is more careful than ever, regardless of what kind of scandal.

    Same thoughts.

2D1N has been my Vitamins since Season 1. We have been through up and down like a roller coasters ride. Right?

Different PDs, different members. They have been working hard just for one goal - To bring joy to audiences (not only in Korea but International).

Every celebrity has their own private life too and live just like us.  Unfortunately, they are public figure and every single move will be magnified and publicised whether its good or bad.

Hope 2D1N team and members will come back stronger, united and continue to bring joy to all. We will continue to support and have this Vitamins every weekend.

    Cheers!!

Just finished 3 latest episodes marathon.

I love how PD team is getting better with how they run the show.

I thought it would be heartwarming season 2 all over again. But no. The members will betray each other in a blink of an eye for whatever at stake.

And most importantly, they actually enjoy themselves.

If Kim Seonho doesn't win variety rookie this year, I would be mad as hell.

Ya, really hope he will win Variety Rookie award this year..

From what we have seen so far, he is the one who shine the most among the team (as what KJM predicted in ep 1). He is doing well. Sometimes devil, Sometimes angel.

“2 Days & 1 Night” Cast Remembers Kim Joo Hyuk With Heartwarming Stories And Tears

“2 Days & 1 Night” Cast Remembers Kim Joo Hyuk With Heartwarming Stories And Tears

    Oct 28, 2018
    by S. Park

On the latest episode of KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night,” the cast tearfully paid their respects to their late friend and colleague Kim Joo Hyuk.

During the October 28 broadcast, the members competed in a friendly cooking competition using octopus from Muan County and pork from Yangsan. Cha Tae Hyun’s team was the winner with a score of 17 to 3, and they won the reward of sleeping indoors. Kim Jun Ho’s sous-chef, who had run a food truck for 10 years, commented, “I thought that we’d lose even if the rice turned out well.”

After the competition, the staff led the members to a cafe decorated with photos of Kim Joo Hyuk. The cast members remarked somberly, “It’s already the anniversary of his death.” They then reminisced about their beloved fellow cast member, who passed away in a car accident on October 30 of last year.

    2-Days-1-Night1.jpg

Looking at the photos, the cast members recalled, “During the first episode, we asked each other what we should do.” They added, “Do you remember our first birthday party?” and remembered the episode that gave birth to Kim Joo Hyuk’s nickname “Goo Teng hyung.”

The members were calm until they heard Kim Joo Hyuk’s voice say, “Hey, [younger] brothers. Have you been well? It’s me, Joo Hyuk. I miss you.”

As they shed tears, producing director (PD) Yoo Il Yong explained, “We prepared pork ribs from Yangsan and octopus skewers from Muan because Kim Joo Hyuk liked them. I want to look back on the happy memories we made together with Kim Joo Hyuk on ‘2 Days & 1 night.'”

The cast members replied, “To be honest, we caught on while eating the meat. It was a food dish that Kim Joo Hyuk really loved.”

    Kim-Joo-Hyuk2.jpg

The cast was then joined by Kim Joo Hyuk’s close friends Jung Ki Jin and Han Jung Soo. Jung Ki Jin said, “I’m Kim Joo Hyuk’s closest friend Jung Ki Jin. I taught him skills for the practical exam when he was entering college.” Han Jung Soo added, “I’m his neighborhood friend Han Jung Soo. We were the same age, and both of us couldn’t drink, but we liked to have fun together. He was a friend, but also a strong pillar of support.”

Actor Bong Tae Gyu and Kim Jong Do, the head of Kim Joo Hyuk’s agency, also shared their thoughts in a special video message. Kim Jong Do commented, “It’s been 20 years since we began [working] together.” Bong Tae Gyu, who starred together with Kim Joo Hyuk in the film “When Romance Meets Destiny,” said, “He was like a real older brother. Throughout filming, he felt like a real older brother.”

    Bong-Tae-Gyu.jpg

Kim Sung Hoon, the director of Kim Joo Hyuk’s 2017 film “Confidential Assignment,” said, “Kim Joo Hyuk expressed his affection for the staff by saying, ‘It is because of all our passions gathered together that we are able to act and have such good teamwork. So I love each and every [staff member].'”

PD Yoo Ho Jin, who recruited Kim Joo Hyuk for “2 Days & 1 Night,” talked about why the actor had initially joined the variety show. He recalled, “Kim Joo Hyuk told me, ‘I’m introverted, so I would like to have opportunities to go outside. I want to go on a trip.’ He said he hoped to make friends.”

Students from Kim Joo Hyuk’s alma mater who met him through the show remarked, “It felt natural, as if we had always known each other as junior and senior alumni. It was more amazing because it didn’t feel especially out of the ordinary.”

Jung Ki Jin continued, “Kim Joo Hyuk was a really kind person. The first celebrity friends that he introduced to me were the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ cast.” Han Jung Soo added, “I even became jealous at one point. Before he joined ‘2 Days & 1 Night,’ he used to only hang out with me, but one day, he started hanging out with the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members [instead].”

    2-Days-1-Night-2.jpg

The “2 Days & 1 Night” cast members also shared their memories of Kim Joo Hyuk. Defconnbegan, “On his first day [of filming], I could see that he felt awkward. He gave me the feeling that I should be good to him.” Kim Joon Ho recalled, “He called me a month after he left the show and kept talking about Defconn. He told me repeatedly, ‘Defconn is a lonely kid. You have to be good to him. Call him frequently.'”

The cast also talked about how Jung Joon Young and Kim Jong Min were like special younger brothers to Kim Joo Hyuk. PD Yoo Ho Jin said, “Jung Joon Young made fun of [Kim] Joo Hyuk a lot on air, but he did it even more outside of work. Jung Joon Young really liked Kim Joo Hyuk and followed him around a lot.” Kim Jong Do added, “Kim Joo Hyuk told me, ‘Kim Jong Min isn’t an idiot. I really like that he’s sincere to me.'” Kim Joon Ho said, “When we went to visit Kim Jong Min’s father’s grave, Kim Joo Hyuk told [his father] that Kim Jong Min is living well. When I saw that, I thought that he really is like our eldest brother.”

Kim Jong Do and PD Yoo Ho Jin continued, “Kim Joo Hyuk said many times, ‘I have a lot to learn from Cha Tae Hyun.’ He would say, ‘Ask Cha Tae Hyun [for his opinion].’ [Cha Tae Hyun] was like the second oldest brother that [Kim Joo Hyuk] could depend on. I think they had a special relationship.”

Yoon Shi Yoon, who joined “2 Days & 1 Night” after Kim Joo Hyuk’s departure, mentioned a conversation he’d had with the late actor about the show.” He recalled, “Outside of work, [Kim Joo Hyuk] asked me, ‘Don’t the two weeks go by really quickly?’ and I sympathized with that a lot.”

    2-Days-1-Night-3.jpg

The members also talked about Kim Joo Hyuk’s acting projects after leaving “2 Days & 1 Night.” Cha Tae Hyun commented, “I was watching ‘Believer,’ and even though it’s not a sad movie, I started crying. No matter how much an actor acts, his true self shows through [in his acting]. When I saw him in his role, it made me cry a lot. Seeing the projects in which he appeared after leaving ‘2 Days & 1 Night,’ I thought, ‘He was really patient.'”

Thinking back to Kim Joo Hyuk’s first day on the show, Yoo Ho Jin PD said, “We surprised him on the first day, so I thought he’d say later on, ‘Let’s not do things like this from now on.’ But at some point, he was the one to take the water spray, and he kept trying to do more [for the show]. Seeing that, I thought that he was truly a mischievous person.”

Jung Joon Young shared, “At first, riding alone with him in a car was really uncomfortable.” He also recalled with a smile, “In the beginning, he told me that he was stressed out because he kept thinking, ‘What if people don’t recognize me?'” Cha Tae Hyun added, “At first, when they said that Kim Joo Hyuk was joining, I thought, ‘He’s coming?’ I worried a lot too [about whether he’d fit the show]. But he became silly on his own.”

Defconn stated, “Even if it’s only the first anniversary of his death, I want to do something for him. I think that remembering Kim Joo Hyuk and talking about him is our way of honoring him.” Pointing to his hat, PD Yoo Il Yong revealed, “This is the hat he wore. I’ve been wearing this hat all year long. I bet he’ll hope for us to smile and remember him. I hope that we can remember him as fun guy and a good person.”

    2-Days-1-Night-4.jpg

On the next day, the members and Kim Joo Hyuk’s close friends packed his favorite foods and visited his grave. The members were moved by seeing that fans had visited his grave and left flowers. After laying out the food, they said, “We came back after a year.” Kim Joon Ho added, “I think he’d prefer for us to say funny things,” and he went on to do an impersonation of Lee Joo Il, one of Kim Joo Hyuk’s favorite comedians.

Jung Ki Jin cried as he said, “I think I know why you liked the people on ‘2 Days & 1 Night.’ Please watch over all of these people so that things go well for them.”

The members then attended a special film screening event prepared by the staff of “2 Days & 1 Night” in remembrance of Kim Joo Hyuk.

Looks like you can really guess on what basis they divided the teams lol.

On a side note, the translation is done for anyone who's interested.

Edit: it seems that there was a charity sale with live performances during the event, seeing as both guests are singers.

    Interview on Joohyuk

      Reveal hidden contents

Ilyong pd mentioned that Joohyuk's accident was the toughest period since he started working for 1n2d. Although they only rearranged footage to tell a story for the special episode, watching the footage was painful, even up till the moment they handed up the tape.

About the members' self-filmed footage, Ilyong pd said that the members had experienced too great a shock and talked a lot about the stuff they did not manage to say to Joohyuk. Every sentence made one sad, and they considered for very long whether to broadcast it in the program. The broadcast footage was a very small part (2%), since after discussion with the members, they wanted to send Joohyuk off with a smiling face even though they are crying on the inside. (Joonyoung's crying for 30min was mentioned) The editing for the footage was actually completed, but since the people watching (note: probably pre-edited footage) were already so sad, there was no way they wanted to make it worse.

The people making the special episode included Hojin pd and other pds who worked in 1n2d before. They volunteered to help in producing the episode. Even though they are not 1n2d pds anymore, and there was a strike, the 6 pds who worked in 1n2d before gathered the night before. Although it was a painful moment, everyone participated, so Ilyong pd was very happy.

After sending off Joohyuk, the members agreed among themselves to work even harder. Since it was difficult to laugh while filming a program immediately after sending Joohyuk off, it was fortunate that there was a ongoing strike. Although he went to heaven, the members still treat Joohyuk as a 1n2d member.

About the return to filming, due to the long break, it was still a bit awkward when on site. He pointed out the reason for the ratings not dropping after the strike was due to the chemistry effect. As the members have been together for 5 years, as the pd, he feels that the chemistry between the members is a kind of "blessing". Regardless of the situation or project, there's the confidence that they can do it as long as the 6 of them are together.

Some viewers wanted to see new members. From the pd's perspective, since Joonyoung is 30 years old,  he also wants to see young people in their 20s interacting with the cast. However, as the chemistry between the members is too good, like family, he wants to protect it till the end.

The wish for the North Korean trip and the members' wish for Junho getting daesang was also mentioned.

    Thank you @lyd89

I can feel the pain... but, i believe uri Gutaeng Hyung would like everyone to stay happy.

When i watched the "2018 Inje Winter Camps" episode, i'm glad to see uri Gutaeng hyung in one of the clips (As mentioned before. he was always a member of 2D1N, Remember each member).

2D1N is like a vitamin to me. After a week of stress, watching 2D1N helps to re-charge my energy level.

Happy to see how the casts and team helps to boost JunHo's morale. Good job!

    Love this team so much!

I managed to pull myself together to watch uri gutaeng hyung special ep. I tried to control myself becoz I thought I dont have more tears but I ended up weeping at tjunho's and jy's video message... after the ep., i finally learned to let go and remember him for who he is and I will make sure to remember him for ever... I will surely forever feel sad whn i see him on screen but I am thankful that he was part of our lives and that he, in his last few years of his live he met wonderful and loving people and even lived a great life himself - full of friendship, love, and respect that he deserves.. Oppa, you will not be forgotten.. and when the time is right for everyone, we should celebrate the man's life (I read some of your posts has started to do so. I will try to fill in as well whn I can find one of his great moments on the show)

After that ep, I continued on with life so I decided to watch the 10 anniversary special that missed out. Was hoping to watch the continuation this week but oh, well..

@blackberrypie @jyugrace i read about it too on sns. It's in seosan, chungnam and the place is very quiet from the look of the photos. It is on top of a hill, overlooking the town (???). I thought the place is surrounded by other pple's tombstones but it looks like it's his family's tiny piece of land. It seems like it looks like a lonely place but it isnt. On the name plates, there were his great-grandparents', his grandparents', his parents' and his name which is on the side of it. At least he isnt lonely on the hill (but sorry I had to say this as this was in my thought looking at those photos) - what makes me sad is that his are the only name plate that doenst have a spouse's name on it :cold_sweat: And I am curious about one thing. English articles said that his ashes are place in a columbarium(???) Or are his ashes placed at the grave site. Which one is the correct info? Anybody can clarify?

There's another one from allkpop but it has the black box video footage from his own car. I'm not sure (I think it's inappropriate) to post it here. Search it yourself but I warned you, it can be disturbing for some of you. Don't view it unless you are brave or strong enough - mentally and emotionally.

When tragedy hits me, sometimes I can not help but I tend to go into an investigative mode where evidence presents itself.  I have already mentioned that I dont like assumptions and speculations, but from my opinion, he was driving perfectly fine and normal but after the slight crash, something must have happened... i dont want to go into horrid details as this is not the place for such things to be discuss about.

Be smart, think carefully, and you can always think about it in on an investigative aspect. But I urged, it is not something to argue or debate about. It's just about everyone's thoughts and opinion.

I found my courage to watch the footage that police released but only to watch 1sec and closed it immediately! Felt heartache and couldn't continue to watch it. Please don't watch it if u are not ready

I thought i have already move on little by little but... :cold_sweat:

    There are tons of them....

    There's his first elephant nose

    His first kanari

    His first muscle cramp

His first twingkling eyes when he sees maknae Writer for the first time

His first awkward talk with Jun yeong

His first worker strike (one where he doesnt want to do another elephant nose and yu hojin had to take his place)

But i favor one time when he truly show how generous of a person he is. The backpack hiking special. When he wouldnt trash anything he caried because he know one of the other member definitely will toss something. Its better for the member to use his stuff then him using theirs.

I'm re-watching from ep1 onwards now and still enjoyed it as much as last time though i know we missed him more.

I'll name one in this episode.

Ep1: He 'pretended' that he knew nothing about setting up fire or wood cutting.. BUT, never expected him that he was that good at wood cutting. Start of the show, he got 0 votes during popularity test. Towards end of show when they were giving out 2D1N pamphlets to the public, he looked so happy when they recognised him as Kim Joo Hyuk ssi :D

  12. It's has been 6 days since the passing of uri Gutaeng hyung. We still feel so unreal. It's difficult but we have to keep telling ourselves that we have to move on.

I have been following 2D1N since season 1 and grow so attached to each member just like my own brother (From Kang Ho Dong to current members). We laughed, we cried, we shared the joy with them. I still remembered how awkward uri Gutaeng hyung was during his 1st ep. Before he was casted in 2D1N, i knew he was an actor, but never knew that he was also named South Korea's Huge Grant. His charisma and humour was another level. I cried during his last episode and hoped that he would stay longer in 2D1N. But, respect his decision. To me, though he left the show, but I never felt that he left and could still feel his presence whenever i watched the show. Haha.. I always wanted to visit KBS building and hope to meet them once and to tell them in person that they are great and are also popular internationally. 2D1N jjang!

Stay Strong, to all my chingu here.

We believe uri Gutaengie hyung will be watching over us and his loved ones from heaven. He would like to see our happy faces again.

  13. I still can't believe that Kim Joo Hyuk went to sleep eternally (as what Defconn said)

His smiles, laughters, or when he resigned to his luck when playing games are still fresh in our mind.

As a fan, i find it hard to move on. Can you imagine? His family, friends and colleagues would even be harder. Hope they will stay strong.

Watching 2D1N will be not be the same anymore. But, we believe 2D1N members and production team will stay strong too.

Once again, Thank you, Kim Joo Hyuk..
