All I can say is that I missed him horribly, and am.so glad for all these news. He still got it, the super duper X-factor that earned him so much loyal love from new and old fans.

Thank you @daegorr and @petito. From what I gather, he did two GDs. One in 2007 and another in 2009. He was awesome in both, very cool and accomdating despite the conditions.
Always happy to hear him speak candidly, love the voice and the humility in him.

I miss you guys so much, but I had to go away to sort out some work and family issues (apparently, they just do NOT want to be sorted out, hahhhaha).
Nevertheless, I'm back into your loving arms again.
So much has happened since December. Joon has indeed moved to a new agency, sis @tessane has been showering us with lots of pics and inside info, and this forum has moved by about 20 pages, and finally one of us, @patoi is able to go to a JG event, YEAY!!... Not bad at all. Just need a drama and a movie to complete the year's diary.) :x -
@lusia, I totally agree with you. Joongi himself has never been under any illusion that he can sing, but I do think he has a respectable singing voice. More importantly, he sings with lots of emotion and the way he sings has a soothing softness quality that I observe even in his rock songs (compared to some other singers). I heard that on average Koreans love to sing and are more confident about singing in public than perhaps other Asian folks, but I think Joongi's voice is above average, if only slightly, as shown in One Day.
Of course, his vulnerabilities when it comes to singing is always so clearly on display when we watch his recording sessions. What I notice is that he seldom practices the song beforehand at home (probably due to his busy schedule). As a result, he has to spend so many agonizing hours in one go just to get the song right, until his throat hurts by the end of the day, and he's totally exhausted.....and of course the pressure he'd feel when not getting the quality wanted, but having to wrap up nonetheless.
Having said that, I appreciate his effort to sing, make albums or mini-albums, learn complicated dance routines for the songs, attend photoshoots for album covers and travel all the way to other countries for the FM's. These things involve a lot of hard work, and travelling for work is not really a lot of fun. He really doesn't have to but does anyway because (i) he wants his fans to remember him and feel connected even when he has no drama airing (ii) he enjoys singing and dancing immensely and would like to share that with his fans and (iii) he doesn't seem to have any other major hobby or activity that keeps him occupied for long periods when he is not making dramas.
I actually also love his talking voice, I could listen to his Jumam broadcasts for hours, not understanding a single word. (Jumam braodcasts are the radio shows that he DJ'ed when he was in the military). I'll recognize that voice anywhere, and when he laughs, aaaahhhhh, he makes the blues go away, that's all I can say.

Joongi's performance in drama will spoil your viewing of other male actors. You'll keep wondering if it was Joongi, there'd be more emotion displayed (not over the top kind, thank you). More "eye-acting", more heartfelt "begging" or "persuading", embarassed look, apprehension, exhaustion, the look of a hunted animal....... basically whatever the script calls for and more. -
Could it be that MBC scrapped the awards that are vote-based?
( When will the voting commence? my fingers are itching to vote too :-) :-$
@Ashrifah, thnx for the brown pix. Joon gi is a real chameleon (spelling?) , isn't he? It's great to see him on the cover of a magazine, any magazine for that matter:-). In a way, mag covers are like a barometer of one's current success. So, this is certainly fantastic.
In terms of styling, I personally prefer the naked (no-heavy makeup) face of soldier Joongi, moles and all. But the brown rustic styling is something new for the fans. Enjoy!!!

We all love Joon, but unless we hv insider info, we can only guess and speculate the motives behind these developments. Furthermore, Korean drama industry may have its own conventions or unwrittren rules abt such things. B-) but its great to play detective once in a while. We'd put CSI to shame with our research and inductive/deductive reasoning.

HELLO, HELLO! aaaaahhhhhhh....it's good to be back. I miss posting messages here, was only able to read other people's posts. So much has happened, no???? Yup, that'll be an understatement.
I've been wondering about the agency non-renewal thingy... Is it normal in K-land for an announcement to be made with so many months left to go that he is parting ways with his agency? *@patoi, @grasha love, @merry, I've edited this post*It could be a rumor or an unintended leak from either one of the negotiating parties. I'm sorry to bring back this issue to the thread. Just feeling protective of our darling Joon... Even with the most comprehensive of contracts, you can never feel fully invincible. The way the news came out gave people impression that IMX has not been doing a good job, and I bet they are not too pleased. As fans, we just wish he get more chances to make memorable movies and dramas with his super size talent. Hopefully everything will be sorted soon. May 2014 bring him lots of happiness professionally and personally.

Let's be patient and wait for the ENG SUBBED video of the acceptance speech to emerge. It will be soon, I'm sure, especially with dedication that our helpful Korean-speaking friends have shown in the past.

@ Petito and @patoi, my creativity correlates positively with my stress levels. Because of this, Joongi has turned from a mere distraction to almost an obsession during these very difficult times for me. initially, it's just a form of escapism and a platform to unleash my bad ……"creative powers " on poor unsuspecting souls. But this thread has allowed me to meet so many people who are always genuinely nice and pleasant to each other, have great sense of humor and equally great intelligence. So, in the end, all of you and Joon have really been a 'balm' for my soul, @lilla11.
Having said that, I'm lucky that my 'distraction' is actually an honest and humble human being, who is quite worthy of being my 'obsession'. Despite all our compliments, we all know that our Joon is not perfect, but then who is...? He's just lovable the way he carries himself on and off screen. ……

I'm reminded of Chuno...the Oh ji Ho and Lee DaHae pairing. Nobleman and noblewoman out in the wilderness, having to.protect themselves. Extreme doses.of manliness and romance in the OJH's character. Our Joon may not have the same bulging muscles, but I know he'll make us.swoon just the same with his agile moves.
P/s: It must be really hot for him to wear the thick costumes for this drama, in summer. Just like Arang and the Magistrate, summer heat was a.major challenge.
