  1. I must say I’m enjoying the resurgence of YEH’s materials online although with them, I’m also reading more of the same untruths and misinformation. Aigoo…

Thank you to everyone who’s been tirelessly propping up the thread by sending links to new videos and articles!

  2. I think the fixation on the hair is rather hilarious. It's getting a little irritating with the redundant netizens who think they know better but for now, let's just treat it as a gag for most of the blog writers and journalists. I mean, it is funny for people to say things like 'The future self is coming back to warn Mi Rae to change her hairdoooo!!'

I don't really think it's a huge sacrifice for YEH to perm the hair nor do I think she's lost it fashion-wise. It's really just a role and a wardrobe change for her. For people to react so strongly to it is just indication of how YEH has always been known to be this trend-setter and fashionista. And the stark contrast between the YEH in Missing You and the YEH in Mi Rae's Choice is erm, stark for the casual viewers. Obviously as fans, we know better and what we can do is merely laugh along and talk abt how this is Mi Rae and not YEH. And then we step back and see how these casual viewers slowly get sucked into this fantastic whirlpool of talent called Yoon Eun Hye!

I'm liking what I have been seeing so far and what I've been reading abt the drama. I hope the excitement carries through! Looking forward to more BTSes and photos!

  3. You know, watching tonight's episode reminded me of one thought of mine when it was announced that YEH wanted to try another genre as opposed to rom-com. There were some voices of dissent or murmurings about whether or not she could do it (obviously not from the warriors here). I think the fact itself that YEH considering another genre was news was testament to the fact that some ppl had doubts. But for me, I never did doubt that YEH couldn't do melo. The reason is that her crying in her supposed rom-coms always had me gutted. I might not know what you said exactly YEH but your eyes speak a much more universal language. And thus, tonight's episode. That scene of LSY in her room crying her heart out was so painful. It was a desperate lunging cry. I felt so uneasy. A part of me wanted to hug her, another felt that I should let her be and have a good cry. But this was one of the most desperate cries we've seen YEH do which I think is a sign of a good actress not just in IMY but throughout her acting career. Her cries are all effective but all different based on the characters she's played. LSY really has two different cries. One is as LSY who is trying her best to be Joy. These are the more quiet cries. She can't help it. Her eyes portray fear or supposed indignance. But she tries her best to still be Joy. The bedroom scene (not THAT kind of scene) was where she lets herself be LSY. That's why she had to hide her face in the blanket. Because while she is LSY, she still thinks no one should see her as LSY.

And then you contrast it to her other crying scenes. I won't cite many cos my memory fails me with old age. As Eun Chan in CP. That famous scene where she finds out that maybe she just can't cut it as a woman. In the bus on her way home after HK did not recognise her and the other 'ditched' her to be with the other girl. That was also uninhibited crying. All ugly. She doesn't care she's on public transport because really that's the kind of girl EC is. Then her crying moments in LTM... They all differ based on situations... And her characters come through. I thought even as a newcomer to acting in Goong, she had really good crying moments. I think that was really one of the reasons why I was so taken in by YEH.

Then of course, you have the crying of YEH as an individual in shows like Road for Hope. I wished I knew what really went on there. Thanks MariYeh for that explanation of a few scenes from Road for Hope.

Anyway, not very organised but just needed to get that out. YEH is a wonderful actress and a part of me feels sad that not more ppl recognise that. Or is that they take it for granted that she is and thus focus on other aspects of her involvement in dramas?

One last thing I want to mention about IMY is this, YEH was on the record as having stated that she was drawn to the character because the character was able to bring cheer and joy to those around her despite her dark past. Erm. I don't kind of see that? I'm wondering if once again, the initial outline given to her has changed to what is eventually being shown. Did she get her synopsis mixed up with the male lead?

  4. santaiah178 said: nok & vegaspink, YEH is an artist. She has a knack for anything related to art. Remember when she's shooting Coffee Prince ? The barista (who taught her the art of coffee) said that YEH's mastering coffee art in just a few days or 1 week. It's a lot faster than his average protege :-bd

If I'm not wrong YEH's talking about :- Her current drama "Missing You"- Her casting controversy in Goong- Her Kissing scene in Coffee Prince- Her appearance as Go Eun Chan (having to use "pad/wrapped"?) - Her friendship with actress Gong Hyo Jin
PS : I'm using google trans. So correct me if I'm wrong :>

  5. Watching YEH's cut on MBC Section TV after Road for Hope brings out quite a contrast. YEH's all cheerful and cheeky (with flashes of YEH's X-Man cheekiness) on Section TV, and all sombre and respectful on Road for Hope. There's a YEH for every occasion!

Need to understand what was said! But no pressure to the wonderful individuals doing translation!

For now, we can look at how wonderfully YEH's clay sculpture turned out. Is there no end to her talent? She does like cartoons, she does portraits, she sculpts, she designs from boots to bracelets, even conceptualised CD sleeves or image (for Kan Mi Youn right?), she sings, she directs, she poses,. she acts, she hosts.. GAHHH...

  6. It's been a while. But YEH's Road for Hope made me want to just proclaim once again how much YEH is such an inspiration to me and all of us. I barely understood what was said in the video, but the tone of YEH's voiceovers, her hand holding of the kids she is 'talking' to... Every once in a while, I find myself wiping away the trickle of tears that has inadvertently rolled down my cheek. The images of these children and family, in situations they have no control over, would be enough to make me tear but seeing YEH's reactions? Her helplessness... As if she wanted to do more. Away from the cameras. Her sincerity as she drew their faces, as she looked on as they work. The earnestness to do as much as she can. In at least getting their plight out there. YEH is one person who I am glad is a celebrity and is famous enough that she has clout. Because ultimately, I know she is one who will use her clout to help others be it through awareness or just the simple act of being present.

I'm not being very coherent now but thank you 50julieng for the link to YEH's Road for Hope (and of course HallyuYoonEunHye). It's been a long while awaiting for it since news of her filming for it came out many moons ago. Anyone wishing we had more? So we could see YEH's interaction with everyone she was in touch with? To know what other problems they are facing?

I haven't had the chance to watch MY though I've been catching up on recaps and forum news and faithfully saving the links and videos. Hopefully, I'll be able to set aside some time soon to just catch it soon so I can partake in the fun in the forums.

  7. i don't understand why people are thrashing YEH for doing this drama.. How could she have known that the story wouldn't be solid? Actors only get synopsis when they sign up for a drama so how was she to know that the writing will be a failure? She should be praised coz if it's other actors, they would have thrown the drama halfway and save herself.. afterall, her reputation is the one at major risk.. instead, she gave her all, acted with her whole heart.. to think that she agreed to this drama coz of her loyalty to verdi media over the loss of love song..i am really getting annoyed at this constant bashing and negative comments... it seems some people just can't be happy until they put someone down.. wonder how they can sleep at night with a clear conscience..anyway, YEH fighting!

Whoah!! Hold up here!! Who's thrashing YEH here? Online forum-ers or credible journalists (though sometimes I wonder if that phrase is an oxymoron)? If it's the former, I guess, it's par for the course here. Not everyone understands the actual process. All they see is the people on screen and these are the people who get the hate and the love.

I do think YEH's commitment to her projects (from the possibly not-going-to-happen to the possibly leading-to-epic-fail) has put her in good stead with the directors and producers. Unfortunately, there might be some who will take advantage of her kindness and just use her appeal (ratings might suck yet people are still clamouring for her fashion statements! I find that quite bewildering!) for their own benefit. So, I really do hope that people around her prevent that from happening.

As fans, we just need to constantly let YEH know that she has not disappointed us. That she should do what she wants and to not be pressured unnecessarily. Some people are commenting that the low ratings show that YEH's star power has dimmed and people are no longer blindly taken in by her appeal. I say, if that's the case, so be it! With the ease down of the pressure of YEH always bringing in the ratings, maybe people won't just use her name unnecessarily! And YEH can focus on what she wants to do! It's brilliant!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to whatever it is that YEH has lined up. I do hope she gets some proper rest though. Watching episode 15 broke my heart because when Ah Jung cried, I can't help but wonder if some of that paleness or fatigue has to do with her really being pushed to her limits with the unbelievable filming schedule.

  8. Awww....Thanks curiousyeh for putting up that translation and thanks also to all those involved in that translation.

That was a rather sweet exchange. GY being too flustered to put together any coherent thoughts. YEH just wanting to give encouragement. And the EC and HK messages being left. It's like seeing chestnuts from your chair all the way to wherever the trail leads us to.

  9. Aww... That interview was really.... heart-wrenching. But then again, YEH's genuineness has always come across in such interviews and that's one of the many things the fans adore about her. Poor YEH I think really suffered from all the hype surrounding her comeback but then I hope the support she gets from her family, friends and fans would remind her that though there are people out there braying for her blood, she does have people who would allow her to learn from her 'failures'. And I use the term 'failures' loosely cos yes, MFL is not a 'failure'. It's not as big a success as OTHERS have made it out to be. But I think the next few episodes will show Hyena in a different light and people will appreciate YEH's acting more.

Continue with your acting YEH! Enjoy your craft! Ultimately, that is what matters because your family, friends and family will continue loving you as long as we see the dedication that you put in your different crafts and the enjoyment that you get from them. (And I shall now use my non-existent birthday coupon to wish that YEH somehow hears these words... Heh...)

  10. I can't wait for the subbed Episode 8. It's partially subbed now but I don't think I can take watching the first six parts and then having to wait in agony for the last part.

I think YEH's acting has been okay. She's been able to show a lot more range I guess in MFL though I think someone should tell that if she really wants to stretch herself, do a straight up melodrama! YEH's totally great at all the emotional scenes. It might be a tad too depressing for us fans though. I mean, some of us cry buckets seeing her emotional scenes in her previous dramas which had both cheery and sad moments. Can you imagine the state of our eyes if YEH's in a show where she's perpetually crying or serious? Hmm... Maybe that's not such a good idea. I do need my eyes.

It's just that with MFL, while there are interesting scenes, it seems a little disparate. The drama's like doing one issue at a time. And as a result, there are some inconsistencies when it comes to acting? When this happens, is it the actors' fault or the director's? But I think if we don't nitpick, MFL is a great show to be enjoyed. Overacting by ANY actor? BRING IT ON!!! As long as it gets me to understand the story, I don't really mind.

Oooh... Just saw rsu618's post. Hmm... I won't speak for anyone, but personally for me, YEH's charisma is really her personality to me. She's not the in-your-face gorgeous young thing that some other actresses or singers are. In fact, some might not even consider her that cute. But there's something about her that makes you more and more drawn in the more you watch her. That's when you notice that actually, she's rather gorgeous. Hahaha...That's why when I first saw Goong, I wasn't that taken by Chae-Kyung. But the more I watched it, the more I found her adorable. Then, when I got to see her personality as displayed in interviews or from previous variety shows, I think for me, it all began to click. But that's just me. I'm sure others will have more eloquent explanations as to where her charisma emanates from.

  11. I haven't really been following the MFL thread or even keeping myself up to date with the ongoing chats on the chatrooms, thanks to my always missing the golden hour. Heh... So, whatever little I know of criticisms hitting YEH is based on the discussion here and maybe even from DramaBeans. I have however seen the two episodes and I must say, I don't really get the criticisms.

One major reason could be that I never did watch BOF so I the comparisons being made are irrelevant to me. But I do agree with lcharmieland I guess in essence Yodya too. And I'm sure there were a lot of other Warriors who would have made their opinions known on this matter who would have the same opinions.

and i totally agreeing with Yodya. I too feels that the reason why Henna is not coming out bratty enough, and even sometimes her expressions become awkward was because all those mean remarks and expression is just a facade, an act. Mean things can be said easily but mean expression can only be express convincingly when a person is really a brat. I believe that deep inside, Henna is doing all this trying to cover up her soft interior, therefore YEH is expressing her character in such ways leading to awkward mean expression because her goal is not to deliver an evil Henna, but a Henna that is inferior about who she is and needs to be mean to hide it. When Henna shows her true self and emotions, like that crying scene...we found YEH acting so convincing because at that point is when Henna is revealing her true self and who she really is therefore, her expression becomes convincing..not awkward at all...if only..if only critics can understand this...sigh..

Someone more efficient and faster than me had stated that BOF's GJP's mean-ness and KHN's mean-ness have completely different motivations. And I think this excerpt from lcharmiel does point out the main issue pretty well. YEH's KHN never seemed full-on b*tchy to me and that is because this exterior is basically what it is; a facade. She has people under her thumb and strangely, the people doesn't really seem to feel that she's a real richard simmons though they accord her some reverence. It's as if they are basically playing along with her. A good example would be that of the head butler. He doesn't like the hiring of SDC but he doesn't quite like the way KHN is reacting by doing all the stupid things. Yet, when the first opportunity arise, and despite the orders of the grandfather, he is keen to fire SDC. It's as if his first priority is to take care of KHN and this is a priority that he mentioned all the servants have. And I think that until we get the full story behind KHN's romantic past, we will never really be able to understand KHN. So, I am looking forward to that.

And I think probably, this is one reason why the 150 hours of community service have also been shortened to mere minutes. The first two episodes are meant to allow the character and motivations of SDC to be fleshed out because that is the main thrust of the plot. If KHN's soft interior is to be so quickly seen in the first episode, it might seem a little anti-climactic when we find out more about KHN.

So, I think those criticising YEH should just chill and watch the show. I mean, I think it applies for all characters and all shows really. If you're going to criticise someone based on one or two episodes, I say, save your criticisms and just stop watching. If you still intend to continue watching, then while we can't stop you from criticising, at least acknowledge when good work has been done.

I can't say how marvellous (or not) YEH's acting has been relative to others. I do think she might have amp-ed up some aspects of KHN like her strutting and stuff. I can't say much about how her speech cos I have no idea how the language should be spoken. But I think she has managed well. Previously, her roles have basically allowed her to act bubbly but yet conflicted (Goong and to a more relevant extent, Coffee Prince) or irritating but yet bubbly and a LITTLE conflicted (Vineyard Man). This time round, she's more faux snobbish and we have yet to see that conflicted bit. So, I think it's only expected that most people, including YEH fans find her acting a little disconcerting. We're not really seeing the bubbly exteriors that seem to appear at the beginning for all her three previous dramas. And as so many other wise people have mentioned, I think when the 'conflicted' bit comes in, we're in for a treat. I've always thought she does 'conflicted' really well. One of her best scenes in VM for me was on her bus trip home after being talked down to by her boyfriend doctor's mother. The realisation that all along, she has been acting that way hitting her face as the sun shines behind her. Hmm... in Coffee Prince, she had a good bus scene too. Darn, with all the fancy private transportations in MFL, will we get a similar bus scene?

    Ooh. Sorry. Long-winded post.

  12. Hahahaha... the YEHlf dancing video did make me laugh out loud. Hahaha... Thanks smr!

And to all the posters here, thanks for making this thread so informative, lively and droolworthy (with the pictures that you guys post though I'm sure some of you are droolworthy in your own right. Heh.)

As for the YEH thread lobby revamp, I like Yoonified though YEHouse has a nice ring to it, and I'm always partial to YEH Warriors. But whatever the majority says, I would totally be happy with. Regardless of labels, ultimately, we're all here for YEH right?

  13. So nice to see all of YEH's people trying to liven the thread. Shall try to do my part too.

And ooh...smr! I remember that fanview! I think. Whenever I read articles of stars donating or doing good, I always fear the backlash that netizens would give on how it's all for publicity. I always feel quite sad for the stars. Damned if you don't, damned if you do. So, I remember feeling positive about the fanview. It was an affirmation of YEH's special qualities that all us YEH people are aware of.

And ooh... Let's cross our fingers that YEH will turn up for MBC's Awards then. More YEH sightings. Woo...

The MYEHsic's video is quite funny actually. Hee.. I always do think her accent when pronouncing the English words to be darn cute.

  14. hey mab2007!

as for the new rumored one, im not 100% sure, but it was a rumour, or an overly-talked-of thing.

...but can somebody more knowledgeable back me up?

    ...

shes so gorgeous, theres not an ounce of fairness :(

I'm not more knowledgeable but I believe that show (Personal Preference) was something that the producing company jumped the gun on with regard to casting. I think they really wanted YEH in the female lead role and spread the news about that but in reality, YEH had not yet seen the script or agreed to being involved with it. Meanwhile, JJH was a name that got in when news spread around about YEH being the female lead because those two do ooze chemistry, even though on JJH's part, there's also no agreement on involvement with this new drama. Anyway, after YEH had formally agreed to NOT be part of the show, the show didn't take off because the company was really relying on YEH to be the female lead role. So, her refusal to be part of the show, has nothing to do with JJH and it's nothing to do with her reneging on promises. This could just be a case of phone tag where new information gets add on as news is passed from one party to another.

Hahaha.. Mishy ah, I read your 'there's not an ounce of fairness' comment initially as 'she's not fair-skinned' and I had to take a few seconds to think about what 'gorgeousness' and 'fairness' has to do with each other. But yeah. Not fair! Heee.. She does look gorgeous (but I don't recall moments where she's not) but I do find her latest interview super hilarious. That look of 'shock' when the interviewer was putting away the seaweed soup! Our YEH is never one to refuse food. Hahaha.. And the instant reply of 'I want to take on a sexy role' after jokingly lamenting over being mis-quoted!

  15. Thanks smr05, for the translation. YEH wrote all of that? Wow. Apart from the content, I think the fact that she wrote something like that shows what maturity she has. I do think for YEH, perhaps, writing in the cyworld is cathartic for her. It makes her think and it makes her resolve issues that are buzzing around in her head and it's such a healthy way of doing so. And it's also a sticking out of the tongue (though YEH is so much more mature than that) to all her detractors who love to insult her from the anonymous screen of the computer.

I hope news get to her that her fans in Soompi will continue to wait for her happily and that if ever we show impatience, that's just because our selfish desires to see her, and for her to make us look forward to something else, can sometimes outweigh our satisfaction at just seeing her happy.

Anyway, chalk that entry to one more reason to substantiate why I admire this 25-year-old so much.

  16. More YEH news? YAY! Hmm... Family Outing? Now, if YEH really does go on that show, I would totally be looking forward to it cos I really miss seeing YEH on variety shows. But hey, if she doesn't, it's fine. As long as she uses the time wisely. And gives us YEH fans more to look forward to! But yeah...to see YEH mingle with some of the Xman stalwarts would be so cool. The chemistry she had with even YJS and any other guy she pairs up with is very believable.

  17. Aaah.... Thanks smr for the subbed video. No more guesswork!

How apt for the VM producer to say that YEH makes you want to wait. Hee... I guess this is why so many of us are willingly waiting for whatever project YEH delves into. Because whatever project it is, we feel happy for her.

And Park Jun Kyu. Hahaha... The one Xman episode where YEH did choose him as a partner, he is Xman. Hehe... No wonder YEH never chose him again.

But, just wondering, that other actress, Bang Eun Hee, isn't she from Vineyard Man? I don't remember her in Coffee Prince or maybe I need to rewatch Coffee Prince more. Hmm...

  18. Quite a few developments eh with all the news over 'Personal Preference/Taste' and more on YEH and LDG!

Firstly, it does seem unlikely that YEH will be involved in PP, although I do feel it's mostly because YEH is looking to get out of such genres of drama. Ah well. As put by a blog, it does sound totally cheese-tastic and I like me some cheese.

As for the YEH and LDG 'duet', thank you Samsung! Hahaha.. Although why LDG, we're not sure right? Is it cos LDG also endorses some Samsung products? It's cute how she never really makes sustained eye-contact with LDG. And how both kept smiling after meeting each other's eyes. Hahaha... Darn YEH's chemistry with her co-stars be it in CFs or MVs or dramas. Hmm... I wonder if LDG is in any of the shows she is considering?

Thanks to all the for photos, downloads and translations!

  19. Hello all! I must say YEH looks absolutely gorgeous whenever new pics of her surface. But this thought suddenly came to me. Her hair takes a while to grow eh? She's trimming it constantly right? Or is it because as I often keep my hair relatively short, I forget how long it takes for hair to grow? Sorry for the very superficial thoughts, if you can call it a thought in the first place.

Anyway, Park Tae Hwan won a Gold medal for one swimming event and my only thought as I saw his name flashed on the television screen was, 'OOOH, he worked with YEH or at least was spokesperson-ing with YEH for Basic House! YEH REPRESENT!!!!!' I didn't say it out loud though, thanks to my sore throat or my family members would have gone back to the doctor's asking what was in my medication.

And all those VM pics bring back such memories. When I go back to work on Tuesday, I will demand that my colleague return me my VM DVDs so that I can rewatch the episodes not on the tiny and grainy screens of youtube.

I shall now continue having faith that one day, I will go on this thread with translated news that YEH has chosen a kick-richard simmons role, be it in a movie or drama. Adios all!

  20. what's with the 'sigh'? any meaning in it?

    hey y'all!

wow haven't been here i a looooong time...

thanks for all the pics... still no news yet on her new project?

well its ok, if we can see new photos every now and then... i just hope YEH's enjoying her break time... she worked hard last year its time to reward herself...

    *voila tout*

The 'sigh' is just me saying I missed her in Goong. Haven't been able to re-watch it (or any of her other dramas as much as I would like to... Sigh...)

  21. Heh... I wonder if YEH has been reading this thread, reading about us wondering when she's going to confirm something. If so... *goes back to erase alllll such posts* Hahahaha...

Well... I think we were all just crazy not seeing YEH for so long. But seeing her at MC Yoo's wedding, that fanvideo and those GORGEOUS Basic House pictures, I think I'll remain satiated for a bit more. Those pictures are gorgeous!!! I mean. Seriously. The pictures completely perked me up after a dreary period of meeting deadlines. The colours are one thing. But the glow emanating from YEH. KYOOOTEEEE...

And to those who mentioned it, yes, I did see some ChaeKyung-ness in the photos. Sigh...

THANKSSSS to all for the pictures (especially the Basic House ones, LURVE THEM!). And the numero pictures are very interesting. The first one that nhetski posted reminded me of how YEH sometimes looked during her BabyVOX days. Man, this YEH is a total chameleon.
