"Shakking" drama series gets sequel

The 2009 drama series "Shakking: Zeni no Tatsujin" is returning with a sequel. This time, Shunsuke Nakamura (35) will star, and Korean actor Park Hae Jin will sing the show's theme song.
"Shakking: Zeni no Tatsujin" was based on Shigeru Tsuchiyama's debt-themed manga series "Shakking," which has also been adapted as a series of live-action films. In the new drama, titled "Shakking 2: Unmei no Houshuu," Nakamura plays the president of a loan company, who is stuck with a debt of 900 million yen along with two other people (Manami Honjo, Mitsuru Fukikoshi). Together, the three of them must use their powers of deceit and trickery to accumulate enough money to repay their debt. Like the previous series, "Shakking 2" will be full of suspense, but it will also weave in a love story.
Park Hae Jin will sing the theme song in Korean, but it will count as his singing debut in Japan when it gets released on November 2.
"Shakking 2" will last 8 episodes. WOWOW will broadcast the series in the same Saturday midnight time slot as the first series, starting on January 8.

Oh...so "mahalo" is Hawaiian! I learned something new today! ^-^
OK....I've translated it to the best of my ability. Soo Ro was talking so fast that I couldn't catch half of what he was saying...but basically he was angry that the nobles could not accept Hwang Ok, who had been living as a Guyaguk citizen, as a queen because she was not born a Guyaguk person, but a foreigner from Taguk.
Scene: Soo Ro defending Hwang Ok against the doubtful nobles
Joo Soo (the grandfather noble): Ah…I was too much with my daughter, and as a father I am embarrassed to look at Lord Soo Ro and the rest of the nobles. However, I did not offer my daughter as a queen candidate because of my own personal ambition. Even though I cannot know the thoughts of the other nobles, I will say something for the future of the new country Gaya.
Joo Soo: As everyone is aware, Lady Hwang Ok is a woman from Cheonchuk. How can a woman from Taguk [translation note: that is, India] become the first queen of the new country Gaya?
[soo Ro is getting upset.]

Soo Ro marries Hwang Ok, and the ascension to the kingship ceremony happens in front of all the people. Son Yeo decided to stay in Gaya with Deuk San, Yeom Sa Chi leaves to be with Ah Ro.
Even though Tal Hae wants Soo Ro to hand over the books [? Didn’t really get this], Soo Ro refuses to do so. Later Soo Ro blocks an attack from Tal Hae who invades with an army and as the king gives the six Gaya territories under Geumgwan the dream of a sea nation. [Translation note: I thought that “sea nation” refers to the idea of a navy power, or a country whose strength is from the sea—like trade and ships.]

However, the happiness is so short I think the preview show that HO is in trouble and SR does not know whether she is alive or not. I think TH is involved in this somehow! He is willing to let go of becoming king in order to wait or find HO?

Here are the other Soo Ro-Hwang Ok scenes I've translated to the best of my ability. Please forgive all the mistakes I've made. ^-^;;;

Soo Ro: Some time ago, do you remember what you said to me? You said that I was your destiny [Didn’t get the first part of this sentence…]. What you said, does it still stand?
[Hwang Ok nods her head and Soo Ro takes her hand.]

OK....for the meetings with the nobles, I'll just summarize, as I am very tired right now....(I just realized what time it is!) Basically the first meeting with the nobles involved Soo Ro's rejecting the noble's choice of a queen. The nobles become very angry, and Soo Ro says that if they wanted a king who was so easily swayed by the nobles' demands, then they chose the wrong person. He told them that he would be a just king, not swayed by anyone. (This leaves the nobles outraged, as they think that Soo Ro would set up a government without their explicit approval.) The second meeting starts with Joo Soo apologizing to the rest of the nobles, saying that it was not his intention in making his daughter the queen for his own personal ambition, but for the good of the people. He starts up another conflict in pointing out that Hwang Ok is a foreigner--she is not suited to be Gaya's queen. Soo Ro gets very angry and says that Hwang Ok is a Gaya person, that they shouldn't look at the person who stayed by their future king's side for so long as an outsider. Joo Soo's daughter quickly agrees with him, and her father capitulates (for the moment).
This is what I got of the conversation--but then again, I'm translating/summarizing/watching the episode half-asleep and under cold medication. This is the best I can do.... >-<;; I'm sorry!
OMG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Love the scene sooo much.. Just wish the kiss was a little longer though. Love how sincere SR was when he asked if HO want to be his wife... I can't wait to find out more of how she got lost and stuff... man I can't only think of tomorrow's episode!

Edit: On another note, I noticed that Hwang Ok's hair decoration contains a pink flower that looks very similar to Dong Yi's in Dong Yi, when she returned to the palace at the end of Episode 46. ^-^ Or is it just my imagination?

In terms your comments of providing a summary instead of a translation, I think that the translation is...more accurate? Shall I say? I think that a summary may be easier, for sure, but I prefer to do translations. *^-^* Makes me keep practicing my Korean. Soo Ro receives news that Hwang Ok had an accident on the road returning from Chuncheok, drops into a depression. The nobles at a meeting demand that Soo Ro marries soon…

Could you please translate SR & HO's scenes in episode 28 when they had a chat after the funeral and in the preview when they want SR to take the chief’s daughter to be his wife. Could you also translate in episode 29 SR N HO’s conversation on the bridge, on the forge after SR meet with the chiefs as well as when SR was matched to the chief’s daughter? The "merchant guy" is the son of the Nakrang Governor. In order for Soo Ro to be recognized as the leader of Guyaguk, Guyaguk has to gain the recognition from the imperial court of China. But in order to gain recognition, Guyaguk has to facilitate good relations with Nakrang.
Anyways, here are some of Soo Ro and Hwang Ok's interaction in today's episode.
Scene 1: Soo Ro and Hwang Ok in the marketplace
[soo Ro arrives and sneaks up behind Hwang Ok.]

A brief summary:
So the gist of today's episode was that Ijinashi leaves Guyaguk--historically he does become king like he wanted, just not of Guyaguk. He is to be the founder of Daegaya, a small country, while later becomes part of the Gaya Confederacy, was the most organized countries in the area. Shinguigan is starting show signs of instability due to the immense amount of bloodshed he either instigated/induced. Soo Ro and Hwang Ok go to Yeom Sa Chi at Chu Kyung's confession and basically threaten him. Tal Hae requests to marry Ah Hyo's sister, to the horror of Ah Ro (the aunt) and the king. Ah Hyo's sister confesses to the aunt that she is in love with Tal Hae. Jung Gyun starts the process of making Soo Ro the leader of Guyaguk, and trouble forms at the banquet held in the honor of the ambassadors from Nakrang. Shinguigan goes to the shrine where the egg is held and holds it in the air to smash it.
The preview didn't look too good. Someone dies? Jeongyun buin?
I'm thinking that it is. Soo Ro mentions that the mourning period [i think?] for his mother hadn't ended yet.
where's the kiss scene between KR and HO? Did I miss it?

I agree. Hwang Ok is growing more and more beautiful as the drama goes on. Imagine what would happen to Hwang Ok's beauty once Soo Ro confesses his love for her. Her beauty would shoot through the roof! (Or the sky.)
Saroguk went to war by attacking Ijinashi first on Tal Hae's strategy. As it is essential for Saroguk to prevent a king from being crowned in Guyaguk, Chachawoong (Ah Hyo's father and king of Saroguk) attacks Guyaguk after Ah Hyo declares at the end of Episode 22 that they should destroy Guyaguk (so much for the "loving" Ah Hyo, in my opinion).
It's not clear what Hwang Ok did to have Soo Ro tease her and have that sweet moment (or if I missed something?). It's something to look forward to, though.
songjc, although I have finished typing up my knowledge about the legend of Soo Ro and Hwang Ok, I am not done--I've sent my account to a relative in Korea to check if I have anything wrong. But I will post it up once I have it back! ^-^

issy_1, i also wonder why she went to see SR officially as the a princess. Were they gonna allow SR and Ahyo to be together, to bribe Soo Ro, to get him on their side? I didn't like Ahyo too but I always gave her a benefit of a doubt. Now, I'm not sure how she will be in the next eps. We'll just have to wait and see.
I think Ah Hyo took it for granted that Soo Ro would accept her, enemy or no, on the basis that he loved her (note the past tense).
And yes, I am a descendent. ^-^ When the drama was first confirmed, my dad made a remark about Kim Soo Ro being the first in our family registry, and I got a three hours' worth of history lecture about my family. Which makes it highly interesting to watch this drama, by the way.
Most information about Kim Soo Ro is mostly legend. I'll try to type up everything in my next post later today.

one thing i am wondering about; for what reason Ahyo's father, the king send her to Guyaguk? why did she directly came to sooro's place as an official princess of saroguk? is it to do with iron making business? was the king was trying to lure sooro to his side because he knew of his daughter past with him?
i still think that they have wasted too much time on SR X AH relationship. this way she will look even more "tainted" from now on considering her supposed deep love for SR. that's why i disliked her character from very begining. her love for SR was not pure. all the time she was loving SR, at the same time continued with her spying on goyaguk knowing fully how SR feels about his people. well, atleast she saved his life (and nearly got him killed again) and did not go with her aunt plan to get rid of SR when she was ordered to do so.
really enjoying KSR too. it has become the highlight of the week and something to lookforward every weekend for me.

Ah Hyo was originally sent to Guyaguk to find out the secrets of weapon-making (it might be steel-making, but I think weapon-making is more appropriate for the era). She was also sent, I think, to help prevent a king being crowned.
She was sent back as officially a Saroguk princess to facilitate relations with Shinguigan. In the end of episode 22 she was sent with a Saroguk envoy in a proposal of marriage between Ah Hyo and Soo Ro. However, both sides know that this is an attempt to make wrong the prophecy--that Soo Ro is destined to become king of Guyaguk. It's already been established that Saroguk will suffer if there is a king in Guyaguk.
And I agree that there's been too much Soo Ro-Ah Hyo relations. However, from spoiler pics it's clear that there will be much Soo Ro-Hwang Ok action soon.
(Personally, I'm all for seeing seeing ten little boys running around, since Soo Ro and Hwang Ok historically had ten sons. Two of their sons took their mother's name, hence the claiming of the Gimhae Heo line.)

it seems KSR is really getting over Ahyo but I hope the producers will not taint her character. The last of the episode is getting to me. I don't know what she said to her father but it doesn't sound good. I'm ready for ep. 23.

You're right about the ending not sounding good. Ah Hyo quite fits the description of "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." She basically tells her father, the king, that they have to get rid of Guyaguk to to the roots--basically destroy them. This is coming from the woman who purports that she loves Soo Ro.
I think her character is "tainted" by the end of Episode 22. If she can't have Soo Ro as a husband, then she'd rather destroy everything he loves in revenge for her rejected feelings, never mind that she just betrayed him for the sake of her country. This is the same woman who should have stayed away from Soo Ro, knowing full well that the prophecy called for him as king for Guyaguk, and that it was in Saroguk's best interests in preventing a king being crowned in Guyaguk.
Anyway, this is the conversation between Ah Hyo and Soo Ro in the latter part of episode 22:
(Ah Hyo and Soo Ro meet at the bridge)
Ah Hyo: Soo Ro.
Soo Ro: What are you doing? I remember that I said clearly not to see me again. You and I, we’re finished.
Ah Hyo: Soo Ro…
Soo Ro: That Saroguk could only for their plans (? I couldn’t get this) accept Tal Hae and joined hands with Shinguigan, that I know. Of course, this couldn’t be what you wanted. In the end, as a princess you had to listen to orders.
Ah Hyo: Even you know that very well, why are you only trying to push me away? You can understand me, can’t you?
Soo Ro: You’re staying in that place, in Shinguigan’s residence, Mother passed away. At the residence of someone whose vengeance hundreds and thousands cannot be forgiven*, you were staying there. It’s a disgusting, repulsive thing. (Soo Ro is referring to Shinguigan’s place.) I felt the pain no less than you did.
Soo Ro: Even when I turned around and saw you there, you in your original place—like a lie, that we could meet again, you don’t know how much I’ve wished for that. However, in this way your father Chachawoong sent you to threaten me…how can you think that I can accept that? Even though you and I say that we won’t change, as long as Saroguk interferes (? Didn’t quite get it) with Guyaguk, we can do nothing but hurt each other, Ah Hyo.
Soo Ro: Go back.
(Soo Ro leaves while leaving Ah Hyo looking devastated and teary, at a loss for words.)
On a lighter note, I am enjoying this drama quite a bit, considering that he's an ancestor of mine.

Hwang Ok: Young Lady Ah Hyo no longer has the right to be Soo Ro’s beloved (not sure about this). You are Soo Ro’s enemy.
Hwang Ok: Please go back. And please never appear in front of Soo Ro again. If you truly love Soo Ro, please don’t confuse his heart.
(Ah Hyo grabs Hwang Ok’s arm as the latter begins to leave.)
Ah Hyo: Is Soo Ro thinking the same thing right now? Does Soo Ro, too, see me as the enemy?
(Soo Ro’s entrance)
Soo Ro: That’s right.
Soo Ro: You and I…we can never go back to the way we were. I…have to protect the people who are precious to me.

*nangja : This was the polite form of address between two women. I don’t want would equate it in English today—maybe Lady?—so I’ve kept the literal translation.
I’ve tried translating as literal as I can. I’m sorry if the language seems stilted and awkward, but this is the closest I’ve tried to translating the conversation.
BTW, I'm sorry if you wanted someone else to do it, but one of my friends wanted the translation, so I'd thought that I'd just post it here.

and when are we going to see serious times between hwang ok and sooro, it's already ep18 and by the look of it, it takes 3-4 eps for Ahyo to get out of sooro's life. if she does at all.
i am finding tal hae's character just so enjoyable to watch. even with all of his evil plans and deeds
If I'm reading my sources right, Silla (Saroguk) princess Ah-Hyo when she realizes that her love will never be fruitful marries Suk Tal-Hae and helps him become king.
Suk Tal-Hae, historically, becomes the fourth king of Saroguk, more commonly known in present times as the Silla Kingdom. He supposed becomes king after Yuri of Silla, more commonly known as Yuri Isageum. He is mentioned in the legend of Kim Su-Ro as a brief competitor to the Gaya throne, but he acknowledges Su-Ro's mercy in not killing him and goes to Silla--this is CLEARLY not the intention of the drama scriptwriters, in this case. Suk Tal-Hae has a legend of his own in how he becomes king, but that's another story.
This is when I bless my Korean history lessons. Anyway, a brief (but distracting? I hope not) lesson on what will happen to Ah Hyo and Suk Tal-Hae.
