Ahn Jae Hyun, Goo Hye Sun, and Ji Jin Hee Confirmed for Vampire Medical Drama “Blood”
Ahn Jae Hyun, Goo Hye Sun, and Ji Jin Hee have been confirmed for new KBS Monday-Tuesday drama “Blood.”
The fantasy vampire-themed medical drama revolves around the lives of workers at the fictional Tae Min Cancer Hospital, the top cancer center in the nation. Ahn Jae Hyun will be taking on the role of Park Ji Sang, head of the renown hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery department. Park Ji Sang also happens to be a vampire, and the story follows his struggle with his basic urges as he cures patients with fatal diseases. Goo Hye Sun will play Yu Ri Ta, the niece of Tae Min group CEO, and Ji Jin Hee will play Lee Jae Yook, the director of the hospital.
The production team behind hit medical drama “Good Doctor” has reunited for “Blood,” so anticipation is high. It has been two years since writer Park Jae Bum and producer Ki Min Soo last teamed up together. “Good Doctor” was a kind of pioneer with its fresh spin on medical dramas, so many are looking forward to this latest project by Park Jae Bum and Ki Min Soo.
“Blood” will air its first episode in February of next year.

Ahn Jae-hyun, Gu Hye-sun headline vampire medical drama Blood
After a few false starts, we finally have a cast for the KBS fantasy medical drama Blood, the show about a vampire doctor who treats terminally ill patients. Rookie actor Ahn Jae-hyun (You’re All Surrounded) has signed on to play the vampire hero, and Gu Hye-sun (Angel Eyes) will play his leading lady. She’ll be reuniting with Take Care of Us, Captain costar Ji Jin-hee (A Warm Word), who was attached to the project early on and has now confirmed the antagonist role.
Blood is the new drama from the Good Doctor team, about a vampire surgeon who seems cold and unfeeling on the outside, but is actually a warmhearted softy vamp with lots of inner pain and yearning for closeness with people. He believes very strongly in the importance of human life, and suppresses his thirst for blood to treat patients and save lives.
The heroine is the golden girl in the cancer research hospital where they all work — she’s not only a star physician who entered medical school at the age of 17, but she’s also the niece of the chaebol group chairman who owns the hospital. It’s somewhat of a relief to hear that her character isn’t your average sweet Candy. In fact she’s described as prideful, bold, and snotty, but with a sunny disposition.
Ji Jin-hee plays the two-faced chief who gains everyone’s trust with his gentle demeanor, but harbors a dangerous ambition on the inside. He’ll do anything if it serves his desire for power, and will be the hero’s greatest adversary. And just to keep things interesting, Kwon Hyun-sang (Mandate of Heaven) plays a bad vampire.
Blood follows Healer and premieres in February.

Blood is the new project from the PD-writer team behind Good Doctor, about a vampire doctor who represses his urges for blood and treats terminally ill patients in the hospital.Ahn Jae Hyun (Park Ji Sang), a vampire and a section head of the Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery department at a hospital's cancer center, who deals with patients and their blood every day.Ji Jin-hee plays the ambitious surgeon antagonist.I have no idea about Goo Hye Sun role.The series plans to start filming by the end of the month, as long as it can secure a cast. It follows Healer on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning in February.
