No childhood skirmishes as they were in their late teens when they met. But there was a flashback where he recalled with fondness that one day she had come crying and insisting that she did not fart and he was mean to have laughed and accused her of it, in a sort of parallel with current day. You might have seen that already.
They might make a cute pair, but I find it tedious watching them circle round each other and repeat the same old hollering and childish taunting over the boys that they keep getting into after a while, although at times I feel that it maybe Woojin's way of interacting with Yoonhee. But better this than the eldest daughter-in-law's story arc that cutietallulah mentioned and which I just tune out of when it appears on screen.
The K-drama rule is for things to only start happening around the mid-way mark right? Anyway, it won't be easy for them to get together even if they are not related by blood because she has been adopted into the Kim family, making Yoonhee and Woojin first cousins.
thank you! I see, so no major skirmishes but a bad/juvenile encounter. :-P My local channel is only on episode 6 so I either missed the flashback or it will be coming soon... I agree that the woojin yoonhee storyline is a little silly but I'm hoping it'll evolve and acquire depth over time... as of now, the other storylines are kind of contrived (in my opinion) so relative to the others, I'm tuned in to this one... This drama seems to be doing well in terms of ratings - I really hope it gets better over time...

Younhee is the adopted daughter of Woojin's uncle. I think they met 10 years earlier when Younhee first came to live with her adopted family and just before Woojin went to the States. But I don't think they have recognized each other yet the day after Younhee went back to the restaurant to get her wallet.
I like Younhee and Woojin's story as well and I also think Myunghee and the soup owner's story will be as interesting. But I wish they would give the gallery owner somebody else to love instead of the daughter-in-law. It kind of scares me to think her family might break up because he's obsessed with her and it would be unfair to the eldest son after all the things he went through to make his wife happy.
thanks so much for the summary!! were there any childhood skirmishes behind woojin left the US that may kickstart their relationship? their relationship is definitely the key reason why I am watching this drama.

I've just recently started watching this drama! The Woojin-Yunhee(?) storyline is the one that most interests me. I just saw the episode where she is drunk at the neighborhood restaurant and he blocks her in the doorway. She comes back the next morning to retrieve something she left there and he's opening the door (then a break).
Do they know each other before this incident? If they do, can someone please provide some details on how exactly they met? Maybe I am at the begining so there's not much that preceded this... I can't remember which episode I was watching as I was channel surfing and came across it.

yup, I participated in the questionnaire... unfortunately, Dr. Champ and PP did not make it to many categories... no matter, I still think they were great dramas and am looking forward to KSY's next drama (after Athena).

not much of KSY (at all), Prosecutor Princess or Dr. Champ to vote for.. except a mention for both series in the underrated drama category and JH-SB bromance as a fave.. as well as UTW's wasted potential..

We haven't had news or pics of Kim Soyeon-ssi lately.. it's probably how it is, SY taking the year end break to finally relax and be with her family, etc.. which is good for her after a very busy 2010.
Anyway.. anyone here.. Soyeon fans with great tagline description ideas that we can use for the thread? Something practical and realistic and not too cheesy, perhaps.. that will describe Kim So Yeon perfectly?
We can always put a list of her well-known drama series but eventually, there'll be more new ones and the space is quite limited. Hope fans at the thread can join in this.. or if there's nothing.. we'll probably leave it.. empty.. -
I'm watching sunlight/sunshine but chinese dubbed and me speak no chinese. KSY must have a lot of chinese fans cos baidu and youku got a lot of vids. good to know you recommend Sunlight. Autumn Shower.. was a mistake. KSY was criminally underutilised. I only watched a few clips on youtube and reviews seem to be bad so I'm not watching them as much as I adore KSY.
I totally agree with you, yourasthma... Autumn Shower was a huge disappointment and it dragged on forever. I was so pissed off at Oh Ji Ho's character. It was just frustrating he couldn't committ to one.. The script was awful and like you said, KSY was 'criminally underutilized'. She was unconscious for like half the series...I skipped through the whole thing b/c I just wanted to find out what eventually happened in the end and then I was like 'what the ...' Huge waste of my time. The only good thing was that KSY character was strong, unlike the other two lead characters.
Hope you like Sunlight (it's not as good as PP) but hopefully it'll help with your withdrawal!

I don't know if it's been mentioned already but KSY was in a drama called 'Sunlight'. It was pretty good - with more typical k-drama elements (given that it was made several years ago). Ryu Si Won was the male lead and the female antagonist was Ryu San (?). She's been in a couple of dramas but not very well-known. Overall the drama was good but not really in the league of PP. However, if you're looking for a KSY drama and haven't seen this one, I would recommend it over Autumn Showers...
another drama that comes to mind - 'Trio' I haven't seen this one and have been trying to track it down in the states to no avail... Lee Jun Jin (of 9 innings 2 outs) is one of the male leads.

My local cable channel is airing this drama and I catch episodes here and there but have not been able to really watch it...as a result, I don't have a good sense on what's going on... can someone help me out with the following? thanks!
once Umi found out about HC cheating on her and went to his office to demand a divorce. Why did he drag her to the other woman's home and then hit her? Why won't he get a divorce?

- I love Hyun-Jung (Gam Woo Sung and Kim Min Sun) - interesting twist on the typical Cinderella fairy tale. It's a bit more realistic. Sweet storyline and no excessive melodrama

I've been reading a bit on the Coffee Prince thread and wanted to throw my 2 cents:
I thought Coffee Prince was interesting and different than the dramas I've watched in the past, not one of my all time favorites, didn't like the sub-plot between the Lee San Gyun (maybe mis-spelling his name) and his girlfriend (although I'm a big fan of Lee San Gyun, I thought this subplot dragged too much and was just annoyed by it), etc.
However, there were definitely some really fresh & different (at varying degrees) things going on that would certainly appeal to certain viewers or at the very least generate some buzz and attract people who generally may not watch k-dramas: gender switch and gender-induced romantic confusion, coffee house background (many korean dramas use a particular industry/professional setting as backdrop and plot foundation and this is definitely a new twist in my opinion), interesting cast of supporting characters, a more assertive and emotionally honest heroine (unlike the stereotypical drama heroine) who speaks her mind and wants to be herself, and good depiction of the emotional impact and yearning of the two leads.
