  1. Awww, I'm gone for a week, and now I come back to hear so much has happened. :( Sad news that the triplets have already recorded their last episode. I knew they were going to leave early 2016, and I was right. I was hoping it wasn't the case, but there's nothing we can't do about it. The triplets are at that age where they are becoming aware of the meaning of all those video cameras and they have to enter kindergarten soon. Plus SIK needs to take this opportunity to continue and further his acting career without having to split his time with recording with his kids. I wish this family the best and although I'm very sad that I won't be able to see updates on them every week, I know SIK appa and their omma will continue to do an awesome job raising the triplets

That being said, with this inevitable countdown of the triplets leaving, I noticed that I am missing some triplet episode segments and was wondering if someone could help me fill the blanks. I want to be able to save these segments and rewatch them for next year when I miss them. Much thanks to all those who have uploaded he triplet segments so far-- Konabeans, adelinetew, and everyone else! I appreciate you guys cutting out the triplet segments and compiling them into one convenient video.

Here are the episodes I'm missing. I would deeply appreciate it if someone could upload these for me and hopefully this would help others who are missing episodes as well! Thanks ahead of time everyone!
    Missing Triplet Segments ENG Subtitles: Episodes 37, 43, 80, 81, 82, 88. Also missing Triplets Segments X-Files 02, 03, 04, 05

P.S. I'm happy all the Superman fathers won awards, but this will be the last year we see SIK winning a variety show award. :(

„I like the universe,“ I know this topic has been mentioned here over and over again but Minguk is a genius. The fact that he knows that there is something beyond the material world here on the Earth is just incredible.

lol, same. I think he's very intelligent that way. I like how he diverted the difficult question with a very diplomatic and vague answer, just like how a celebrity, politician, or a lawyer would answer. It's like he was made to be either of those occupations, although I vote for lawyer. I like the thought of him following in his mother's footsteps. :)

I don't think the PD push for triplets fan to love the new family but I think the other family saw that the triplets are so well loved, the Song family does everything right, cute, adorable and admirable, so the parents try to mimic the Song family so that they will also be loved.  They don't realize that their kids are loved because they're loved for who they are, what they do. I think it's the parents who planned their activities on what to do while filming for the show, not the PD.

Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with the Lee Dong-guk family and everything to do with the editing team and PD. The only thing Lee Dong-guk is responsible for is taking care of his kids and making sure to make the experience fun for everyone. That, and he needs to survive for 48 hours, which is the entire premise of the show.

On the other hand, if viewers have noticed that they are too similar to the Song Family, this is the fault of the editing team and the PD for pushing it to look that way. We have to be reminded that we only get an edited partial footage of everything that was filmed, so it is the editing team's job and the PD that chooses what footage to include and what captions to use. So it's not because Lee Dong-Guk is mimicking Song Il Gook. Rather, because the Song Family have been so popular, the PD thought he could get away with pushing the direction of the new family in the same direction.

  6. Upon observing this, father Song Il Kook says proudly, “Who does Manse take after? I think his ability to befriend people is the best in the universe.” - Thanks CHELLSEE.

That kind of ability (to make friends so easily) is a wonderful trait and so sweet that his Daddy is so proud of him.:)

    e0800cdc-5ac4-445d-b3ca-7ff4f6244f28

That is because from what I understand, SIK is socially awkward himself. Manse's easy personality and ability to make friends certainly didn't come from him. This is why he says that it's the best ability in the universe-- because it's a trait he himself doesn't have. :) Manse is like the "bro" of everyone. His free, easy-going personality and natural maknae personality makes everyone want to get close to him and take care of him. :D

If you watch him in interviews or programs back before he had the triplets, SIK was so awkward, poor guy. He's not good at public speaking (although he's a different person when he's acting), he's an introvert, and it's been mentioned many times in the past that he comes off as cold and distant. Since having appeared on RoS with the triplets, his image has made a complete drastic turnaround. Suddenly, he's seen as the Appa of the Year. His image has become friendlier, more relatable, more relaxed, still socially awkward, but definitely not cold or distant. I would say introducing his triplets to RoS has been a huge benefit to SIK.

  7. Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I saw this photo on DC and posted in my page of Daehan Minguk Manse yesterday, and it's really a big hit. Now they call Mingukie Do Min Guk (This photo was taken during Korean president election in 1948)

omg, the headshape is exactly the same, lmao

  8. I love how the triplets are always out on an adventure. This is the age when going on a mobilized Safari trip would be memorable. Song Appa sure knows how to plan his days with them. Haha, but to be honest, I would be content with them just hanging around and playing at home. I think I can watch them forever without getting bored.

lol, Sarang under pressure! Does she like Manse or Yuuto more? Will she choose Manse even though Yuuto and his mom are in front of her? :D

  9. @ispeakmymindtakeiteasy

Thanks for subbing this! Really appreciate knowing what they're talking about. lol. All four families should just have more kids. Song Appa needs to convince his wife to try one more time for girls, lol, and Sunghoon should just give in to Shiho. I think Uhm Tae Woong and Hwijae are already on the road of wanting another one sooner or later without any pushing. :)

  10. Not sure I agree completely. I think they will see a decent dip in ratings, but the Lee twins are getting a lot of love these days as well. They're probably the only thing that would save RoS from dropping in ratings completely. But you're right, the triplets and SIG appa are pretty much the kingpins of this show. So many people are watching only because of them. Their interaction with each other and with people around them are always interesting and touching.

  11. Someone on Soompi mentioned a good point. KBS won't shoot themselves on the foot like this. They know just how valuable SIK and the triplets are to the RoS ratings.

Plus, Cha Tae Hyun has managed to act in 'Producers' and shoot for 1N2D at the same time. Let's hope SIK appa is able to do the same thing. KBS would probably be flexible for his shooting days as well. This article about him choosing one or the other is probably just to garner media and to promote the upcoming drama. Fighting Song Il Kuk Appa! :)

  13. I'm beginning to feel the end is near for the triplets and Sarang on this show.

I think the triplets have gotten too big (as in popular) for their good and it's making his parents and noonas like myself, feel they need their lives back. The barrage of CF's in recent months is probably the final sweep for their scholarships.

As much as I love Sarang, her story line is also getting old.  I think she has run out of cousins/friends who visit, or museums/parks to visit.  Even grandpa and grandma don't show up that frequently anymore. BUT, if she starts dating Manse ... we will have endless sweet moments.

I will include Ji On on the to-go list but she hasn't been in the show that long so they will probably give her more time to blossom. I wouldn't miss her too much if she leaves though. I can only take so much one-way communication from dad saying she's pretty/clever, and laying on the floor with the dogs. She needs more opportunities to be around other kids and that may include a move back to civilization.

The twins meantime, have a long way to go. They are now at their most fun age, just as the triplets were when they started at 27 months. Their "an-de" and body gags makes this noona squeal.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

    s

I wish the triplets would stay longer, but it would probably make sense for them to leave the show soon. I compare them now to a year ago and they have grown unbelievably. I miss their 27 month old days. They almost look like kindergartners these days. I give them the until the end of the year before they announce their departure from the show. I woe that day and will probably mourn for a long time when that happens. On the brighter side, then maybe their appa will be successful in losing the weight he gained while on the show, lol, and enter back into the drama/movies scene.

I agree with you that Sarang is getting too old as well. I believe that once the the kids develop to the point where they are conscious of the video cameras around them (and know they are not just random dino-uncles that are playing with you), it should be time to go. I don't want the knowledge of fame interrupt with their growth development. I think Sarang is past this point right now, so she needs to go. However, I'm happy to see her develop into a happy big girl over the time she was here. She will be missed too.

Ji-On still has a long way to go. She's already starting to talk a little when her dad prompts her to, and although there are some segments where it's kind of boring, her appa needs to take them both out of the comfort zone of their house and meet with other kids more so she can develop more naturally. I don't think the show will take them off anytime soon unless UTW suddenly preemptively decides it's time for them to go. She is just a little older than the twins, so she has a lot of room to develop. She's a sweet happy little girl and it'll probably be funner to watch her as she gets a little older and we see her personality more.

Likewise, I think the twins will be here until the end (at least another year or two). Lee Hwi Jae fortunately joined the show when they were still months old, so they still have plenty of time. Their current age is the the funnest time we will probably see them and they still have plenty of shenanigans to cause and many things to experience. I can see both Seo Jun and Seo Un wreaking havoc and running around driving their appa crazy as time flies. They are a staple of this show (being here from the beginning til now) and will probably take over the triplets (once they leave) as being the favorites of the show. I know a lot of people in Korea have emotional sentiments towards them since they have seen them grow up, literally, from the time they could barely crawl to now, when they are running around so actively. Like someone mentioned before, you feel like their aunt or uncle watching them experience all their firsts.

  14. Aigo, did anyone notice the part where the triplets all were clinging to their dad in the swimming pool? Manse was put onto appa's back and Daehanie put his hand on Manse's back to steady him. Aigo, what a great reliable caring hyung. :) What I like about Daehanie is his understated small deeds. He's the most quiet of the triplets but he shows all these small actions towards his appa and his siblings that separate him from the rest.

  15. I noticed that Sarang, Haru and the triplets are exposed to songs (and music?) from an early age...... could this be one of the factors?....... and Sarang seems to be taught English too... we can hear bits and pieces of English words from the grandfather and her parents.  Life must be different in Japan.....

    @wilddove,

Due to Japan's language system, especially with their Katakana character system, random English words (in the form of Katakana) are interspersed in their daily language. I don't think Sarang is fluent in English, but she certainly knows certain words her books, parents, and TV introduces her to. (But it's not just Japan-- it's the influence of the Western world on the Eastern world. I seem to remember an episode where Manse tells Daehan to "jump" in English too. :) )

I do think that introducing your kids to songs and music is very important as they seem to soak it up like a sponge at that age. However, I ultimately think they are bright not just because of genetics, but also because of how they are taught and spoken to as if they're individuals or young adults. I think one of the child psychologists that advised UTW about speaking directly to Ji On, looking her into the eye, make her repeat your words, etc., has gotten it right. Those are things you should do for your child to advance their development. :)

I think the problem that a lot of kids have today is mainly due to their parent's fault in failing to teach and talk to them one-on-one. Many kids I know are left in front of the TV (which in no way replaces a parent's interaction) or playing with their tablet. Parents have to engage their kids and encourage them to talk to others and try new things.

Of course, we have to take into consideration that these kids in RoS are all well-off, being celebrities' kids, so they get a lot more opportunities in being introduced to and trying out new things, being fed better with more expensive and better quality food, and going to better schools and nurseries that have teachers that are able to communicate with them more on a personal level. Still, a parent's education is one of the most important in this stage.

  16. @charmy2 and @mingukiefan,

I thought Sarang and Haru, and even the twins now, are pretty advanced for their age. If you think about it, when Sarang started the show, she was pretty bright for a two year old as well and even now, she is for the most part fluent in two languages. I think it's not only genetics but how they are taught and brought up that makes the difference in how your kid develops.

  17. yes because they are kids interactions cannot be force. either you have chemistry as playmates or u dont. and children easily move on if they dont find it fun to play w one person.  the triplets do not have chemistry with the twins, their playtime is not fun to watch at all especially because of age gap the triplets are already good talkers and also more physically active.  triplets and sarang are ones w good chemistry because they are the same age.

even the show itself make fun of the oppas for not being able to talk to each other wo awkward silences.  and the viewers feel this awkwardness too and it's not pleasant to watch.  i think it is good to have the families together from time to time but one episode should have been enough!  unlike this jeju special that is dragging on for way too long.

I agree with all of you, but I did enjoy the parts where all the families split off by themselves for a while. I enjoyed it when SIK appa took the triplets paddle-boating and fishing. It was one of the funniest and very heartwarming scenes of Mingukkie being such a happy kid. I also liked watching them climb the mountain, but SIK and UTW's interaction there was very awkward too, lol. It's hard for the dads to interact because they are all introverts aside from LHJ. He's probably the only dad that's not awkward with any of the people he's with. But stick UTW, SIK, and CSH together and it's one giant awkward-silent fest, haha.

As for the kids, I agree with you that they of course get along better with others that are of closer age. Ji-on and the twins work, while the Sarang and the triplets work. However, like some of the others have said, I'm a little tired of the families meeting together too often. I much rather they all go back to their normal routines and watch the kids in their individual setting.

Watching the new episode and seeing how much Song triplets love each other ,they have brought me even more joy than i could have ever imagined Manse and Mingukie are perfect duo, they blend so well together. And Daehanie is definately a reliable hyung who you can depend on.
