I haven't posted in this thread in a while because most of the time I don't even know what to say. I mean how much pain can one couple endure? My God just let them be happy for the remaining for four episodes! And people is still complaining that JE didn't suffer enough for his affair? JE for the last ten episodes been a walking zombie filled with shame, sadness, guilt etc.The man whole life from his job and family is pitiful. Sure he didn't suffer how some felt he should have but he is indeed suffering deeply. Even his mom felt she was being punished for what she did to HK four years ago. His family is completely broken due to their own lies.
I think main issue now is JR. If they can just sent her away or put her in jail for blackmailing then everyone can heal and move on. I want to see another little girl or twins maybe for our lead couple.

I'm happy you posted this. I feel the exact same way especially after seeing him in so much pain begging for her forgiveness and realizing his faults. Its takes a real man to not blame others for his behavior but to take responsibility for it and try to somehow move forward. Yes I know he deserves her anger and distrust but I hope it don't go on for several episodes. The chemistry between these two actors is too powerful to delay for several episodes. Their love is what pulling the rating up not YG and the Doc
I know there are a few BS shippers on this thread and I was one in the beginning but lets face it there's nothing there to pull me in. They're only good at being friends.

Its too soon to say she's back to being cold by only looking at spoiler stills. She could very well to be pretending to insert herself back into a company to prove her innocence. As for JE, I know she will be pissed(rightfully so) and reject him for a few episodes or one but as everyone stated she loved him before the affair and after so they won't be separated for long. HK pissed or not is not going to let SR have her a way with JE. She will remember what SR said (Ep. 26) about returning to her old self. The suffering everyone feels JE needs to go through is coming as the episodes are reaching in the 30s. Not only will he suffer from HK rejection but he'll finally see SR true face. The woman he left his tortured wife for will put him through hell with her delusional thoughts and schemes.
One thing I can't stop thinking about concerning the plot is that JE suppose to turn cold and violent after 4 years. So when will this happen? Since returning he been about honest, doing these according to the law, trying to do right by HK etc. I guess after he learns of JR & SR schemes.
Lastly, if the writer is trying to make HK out to be this villain while making the Korean audience feel sorry JE this weekend then I will skip a few episodes like I did in the first 9 episodes. Nobody has time for this crap
In my opinion the story was moving along quite nicely and it should continue that way. The writer should allow HK to truly grieve for daughter, take out her anger on JE because of his cruelty not became this cold wall no one can break through. If that's the case then I'll truly be disappointed.

Okay, When are they going to tell JE's father HG is alive? I'm sure he would help JE protect HG since he so fond of her. SR won't even be a issue because MH don't seem to care if his secrets come to light and his top goal is to destroy his SIL. So, what can SR possibly do to force a marriage? Through the mother? No that's going to work either because the mother indeed have dementia but she not dying. JE lost HG through divorce and almost close death twice so he's going to hold on tightly to HG despite the hell that's coming. I want JE to see SR true nature and since the plot is moving fast I hope that happens this weekend.

JE has give BS too much consideration at this point. JE come to BS ask BS to protect HK and even before tells BS that HK views him as friend. This to the man that punched him and acted arrogant.
BS is the one in need of realty check HK YK2 has never said she loved him. Has told him who she loves. In time when it could be her last minute on earth could he not be slefless and get the person he knows she loves to him.
To the end he was trying to deny reality in the face of DNA test.
I would like JE and HK to come to terms with the death of thier child. Then I think they can move on.
BS now need to man up and get rid of his onesided love for YK and YK2.
I am sure HK can visit the children in the future without being BS girlfriend as she took care of them when she never was his lover.
Also the children knew one day YK2 might find family.
Also it time for dad to deep six his rules so that these kids think of family as something permant.
The other thing I really want to see is HK and JE meeting Woo Joo. I think her abilty to help the cold docotr will help HK heal and will alos give JE an out let for his over protective love. I think Mother and daughters finding there immidate and extened family would be very nice and provide some healing and shelter for both.
To what degree does JE need to suffer?
I also wonder to what degree HK will suffer for her past actions. Also with the love she has for JE will him suffering more now make her happy or sad? Even though he treated her cruely he also nursed her and when he got on his knees because he was suffering she released him not out of pride but because she knew that she was hurting him. HK and JE realtionship is complex.
Now to read todays recaps.
For one, JE still thinks of SR as innocent and pure that why he's careful with his words when letting her down. Also, there are no strong emotions toward SR like what he had with his wife so it makes sense he would treat her differently when ending the relationship. I know looking at JE differently after his cruelty toward his wife 4 years ago is difficult but he said himself that he has to be redeemed in HG eyes even if that means losing her. He's not running away from his actions, in fact he's trying to help her remember so she can properly forgive him. One thing is sure is that he loves his wife. Why it took 4 years after living with SR for him to realize this I don't know. Maybe a death of a child affects every human being differently. I can predict though that he'll be more cruel toward SR once he sees her true nature especially since he vow to protect HG at any cost.

I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for SBS to air the episode after the game...they could have easily done that the first 2 times and chose not to...I suspect that was their plan all along. I have no idea why they can't seem to manage a TV schedule, it's not difficult to have a plan B in the case of a game that runs long or the country progresses in a series SBS just chose not to.
I don't see why they can't just be up front in the first place and say the dramas won't air rather than acting as if it's something they plan to do up until the last minute. It's actually quite rude.
Either they don't now how to plan a television schedule and are incompetent or they are purposely misleading. In my opinion based on the available evidence.
I'm not going to get my hopes up either. Whoever is running the weekend programs clearly don't know what the heck their doing. Why get people hype up like that and then at the last moment announce cancellation. If this drama was on MBC, this won't be a issue which is probably why their weekend dramas always ahead in rating. So now we suppose to wait and see if the Korean Baseball team win or lose to determine if IHAL will come on or not. Ridiculous! I'm happy people are protesting the network site.

Just too a moment and re-looked at the characters description on page 1
IAW those descriptions it looks like when HK again meets JE on his return to Korea he should have already been married Autumn 2015.
So looks like writer not only has done a 180 from what was shown in EP 1-9 to now make us believe that his love then for HK never stopped and was the most important thing to him -- but has also bailed out of JE being married to SR and then a subsequent adulterous affair between JE and HK were SR is the wife and HK is the other woman.
Exactly, That's why I believe no marriage between SR and JE will happen. No doubt SR will try to force a marriage but JE is standing strong against it. I think audience reaction toward SR was so great that the writers decided to change the story. JE was a total a** toward his wife now we suppose to believe he's a lovely husband who feel total regret and want stay by his wife side even in death. I have to admit I'm sort of divided on JE. A part of me feels his love and pain for his wife, but I'm also still angry with him for the cruelty and inhuman behavior he shown in episodes 1-9. I don't know the direction the writers are going in but so far liking it. The chemistry between the leads is amazing and well acted out. I haven't been this hooked on a drama since Golden Rainbow.

Here is my speculation of unrealistic but realistic drama episodes to come: (Just b'cuz
)
a. BS will slowly come back to your senses. He knows it in his gut something's up and HK is not YK.As JE mourns his wife and HK rejects BS and tells him she love JE, he will come back to his senses.
b. SR and JR will not get married. Infact mourning JE turns cold and ruthless (like he was towards HK) towards SR and closes his doors to her. (YAY!!!) while she tries in vain to get him back.c. JE will become a man on a mission and find out who and what killed HK and he will turn ruthless and cold like HK was to gain his purpose.
d. HK will get bits and pieces of her memory back as she fights Puxodin! To her Shock She finds out JE cheated on her with SR and she is angry at him again! e. YK comes back and gives a shocker to BS and the Doc. HK and her mom protect her and the kid against JE's family.
Yes, that's exactly what's going to happen. He will turn cold and heartless thinking that he and SR is responsible for HK supposed death. The only person that going to be able to reach him is YK2. I'm so ready for the big change because SR will get taste of what HK went through went when her husband threw her away except JE will come off even more heartless than before.

At this point I don't know what to expect from this drama. According to JE's Character description, JE after 4 years has turned violent, uncaring and its give you the impression that he believed YK2 was someone who looked like HK during their affair not HK herself. The story have in many ways changed so you never know if a marriage between JE & SR will actually happen. If JE indeed turn violent and uncaring as the description states then SR will suffer more than HK ever did. By looking at the preview clearly shows JE is desperate to get back with HK therefore if a marriage happen its because SR scheme her way into it. Maybe a hellish marriage is the karma SR has coming.

Okay, now I have to get this off my chest. I hate the fact that JE is considerate of SR's feelings and doesn't want to hurt her. When she's questioning him as to why he was so "rude with YK unni all day." He said:
"What ever I say, It'll hurt you. So that is why I'm being careful with my words. I can't explain, but I will tell you as is. She is HK. She is not YK but her. I know SR, I just know. I need to know why she's acting this way, why she is living like that. Once I figure it out and I accept this, then I will be able to accept this situation. I just want to know the truth. I would like it if she is doing this with a plan in mind and on purpose. I will never upset the two. They looked happy."
JE sounds like a man who cares for SR and is discussing HK with her (communicating so as not to cause confusion) like the lover she is in his life. I don't like the fact that he's discussing HK with SR. I can't see this man being able to leave SR and hurt her the way he did HK. It just "seemed" like the two lovers were conspiring agains HK.
I don't know why being angry at someone is supposed to be a sign of affection, verses being polite to them and considerate of their feelings. I can't help it, but this scene just again made me think of his betrayal of HK.
I have to totally agree with you in this scene JE is being so considerate of SR while with HK/YK2 he is not he is rude he talks rudely to her and has no consideration he is even cold.. are we supposed to believe he loved her? even if she were HK why bother her? if she is started anew with another man what business is of his? Also remember at the hospital when he took her backpack? he recalled what her mom said or written to him "She found a good man she is happy leave her be I request this of you" he recalled those words and went at YK2 ordering her around...
I know both of them lost a child and maybe he hated her after that I am not sure but then when he left he forgot her for 4 yrs why can't he go back to that and just let her be? Yes I know the writer is planning to get them together but I honestly don't see that Totally wish he grovels and begs and really suffers for real!!!!!
I think JE is being gentle with SR because a part of him feels a bit guilty for not loving her the way she wants him too. His attitude toward HK in episode 14 is mostly jealousy and frustration because here is HK living with another man and acting if though she never met JE before in her life. JE is clearly still deeply in love with HK and BS asking him to stay away is not clicking in JE's brain. JE is type to do whatever he wants regardless of the pain it cause others. He wants HK back so therefore he won't stop until that happens. And when he do find out about HK's death, he will hold on even tighter to YK2. I don't see how this information going change anything.

hi guys, is it true that there are no new eps this week? someone said that SBS would air thanksgiving special?
The next air date is 10/3 so yeah its true. I'll just occupy my time catching up on other K-dramas this coming weekend but I hope Sbs release many spoiler stills to keep us patiently waiting for two weeks.

I'm enjoying the discussion on this thread. Its interesting reading all the different opinions on JE, SR, & HK characters.
Anyways, is it true new episodes won't air this weekend because its Korean Thanksgiving?
If true, hopefully they will celebrate all on Saturday and air both episodes on Sunday
I know its just wishful thinking on my part.-

I have to say that I absolutely loved the way episode 9 ended. I hate the way this family has immediately invited the other woman into the home and family--what a slap in the face to HK who I feel lost her soul to this company and family. I loved the way it ended for one simple reason, it's teaching HK how to live again. BS wasn't deterred by HK's cold attitude as she was reading. He put forth an effort to make her join in--basically forcing her and were rewarding with a happy HK. Made me think how much effort did JE really put into trying to reach her.
Now I see why she has to lose her memory and not JE. This is an opportunity for her to be exposed to a different lifestyle, life, attitude, environment, etc. Can't wait to see how this develops.
This is why the drama should end with her being with BS not JE. BS despite the fact not seeing YK for years knew exactly what to do to make her smile brightly. JE on the other hand don't know what to do other than whine and find himself a new woman. Here's a man who loved HK for 20 years but he can't reach her thorough this cold wall she put up. Also, the way he ended his marriage is just too cruel and humiliating that I can't see her fully forgiving him once her memory return. The only way I can see him redeeming himself is to destroy his family himself and making SR suffer more than his wife did.

Why such a dramatic reaction JE? I know he didn't expect to keep his shameful affair a secret from everyone forever. Who is he more worried about himself or SR? No matter how he try to explain his way out of this its still considered immoral to person a looking in from the outside. Not only is SR the other woman but a student at that. He has no chose but to work at his father's company because he has no job now. I just wish HK would stop fighting for her marriage and let the the little skank have him. Once he sees SR is not all that great he will regret his actions. Karma is a B**ch!

Okay, I need them to move along with the present events because JE and his SR are making me sick to my stomach. At this point, HK needs to just disappear for while to find some kind of peace. It took her to jump in the river for her husband to show he do care a bit about her. WTH? The woman may have a little cruelness in her but she don't deserve this kind of pain from a man who vowed to love and protect her. Its seems the next episode will bring even more pain.

I checked this thread everyday for news on a possible upcoming drama. I miss him so much.It seems his company wants to promote him more in China with reality shows such as Star Chef. To be honest, promoting in China is good but I want to see him in a drama soon with a good actress and good script. A super hit drama will solidate his popularity around Asia. He's not as popular as I would like him to be. Its so much news on Kim Soo-Hyun, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Min ho but II woo gets a few news articles here and there. I don't know if that's how he prefers it or his company don't promote him enough. Anyways, I would like to thanks those who continue to update us on his activities. I absolutely loved him on Running Man.

Congrats to my very handsome Jung II Woo!!! This award been a long time coming and you so deserve this.May 2015 bring many good dramas your way.
I know "The Night Watchman Journal" is what gave him this award but I came know and love him as a actor through the dramas "Golden Rainbow" and " 49 days". So hopefully this year he would act in more modern dramas that shows his ability as a lead actor before his enlistment.

I saw the news about " Night Watchman Journal" but it only stated he was considering the role and I didn't want to get happy until it was confirmed. Look forward to the drama and of course his chemistry with his female lead.

OMG Please let this happen!!!!! I knew the drama was successful for a weekend drama but a sequel?Right now I'm hooked on "Jang Bo rai is Here" so hopefully by the time this drama ends we'll know for sure if the Golden couple will return.

NO!!! He already took a year off and now enlistment? I going to miss him like crazy for two years but I know its what Korean men needs to do for their country so no complaints from me. My only wish is that he film another drama before leaving.

I'm really disappointed to hear flipinos bashing something and someone of their own. Our music industry is trying to cope up with the music of other nations that's why their coming up with ideas like POP groups and POP music. Why not give these groups a chance? They might have started with a very kpop inspired single but i believe in time, they will be able to establish their own music and everything. I am a very big kpop fan as well. I AM A FULL PLEDGED CASSIOEPIA. I love every SM artist and I support KPOP the most yet...I can't hate XLR8 as well as the other POP groups because they are my fellow FILIPINOS. For the other races who're dropping by here, please, if you don't like XLR8, JUST LEAVE THE PAGE QUIETLY. YOU DO KNOW THE WORD RESPECT RIGHT? We are not forcing you to like them or even accept them so please, just mind your own business. XLR8 members are HUMANS who have families, relatives and friends too. If your family/friend is the one who's being bashed, would you feel happy about it? Would you not ask for RESPECT as well?

Well said!! I'm not from the Philippines but I truly love some of their artists and I seriously don't see anything wrong with trying something new. Okay I agree This does spells Korean pop but if given a chance I'm sure they will grow into their own music and style. Plus, Thailand is a huge copy of Kpop but yet people wants to complain with the filipinos wants to feed off that style also.

Leave it to you to calm my nerves about the baby not being included. We said irilight! Now I can find closure with the ending and the characters that I watched for six months. I truly going to miss HK and JE amazing chemistry. I'm going to miss this thread with all the intelligent and well written comments that made this drama even more addictive each episode. I have to find something to fill my weekend now that my show has ended.
