  1. random...I LOVE THE WAY HE SPEAKS ENGLISH

so since i'm a new fan i'm looking for all his interviews and stuff. I think he was in Singapore? And he was speaking English...omg lol he sounded sooooo cute and he's sooo polite.

I randomly picked a page on the post and landed on a translation of his first comments when his site opened and how like Hwang Tae Kyung (i think that's his name?) said that a fan's love is kind of fleeting in a sense and that he could be easily forgotten and he was like it use to make him sad but decided he'll hug the fans tight and never let go...something like that.

    gahhhhhhh he's so sweet!!!

sorry for my randomness lol he just brightens up my day!!

  2. i'm a new jang geun suk fan. i've seen his pics in passing over two years ago and i never paid attention to him. my friend got to to watching You're Beautiful sometime last week and i never expected to be as engrossed in it as I was.

Before this drama I didn't know who he was. But the more I watched the more I thought, wow this guy can REALLY act. And then I started to think of how cute he was in it. I think what made me appreciate his character in the drama is first the writers didn't make it a stupid, wasteful drama. Everything connected and everyone did a good job bringing their characters to life but of course the one that struck me the most was Hwang Tae Kyung because I could tell the actor was bringing some of his own stuff to the table rather than what was laid out in the script.

Soooooo after finishing the drama (and becoming obsessed with it lol) I started to look him up and was shocked he's the guy I've been seeing around in pictures. I feel sooooooooo guilty for saying this but he's soooooooo good looking, even though that wasn't the main reason why I was drawn to him (honestly, it was his acting talent).

but the more i looked at his interviews and behind the scenes for YB I couldn't help but think...he seems like one of the nicest guys ever! At first it was my reaction to how different he was from the character in YB but just in general, he just seems like a nice laid back guy who likes everybody. And for him to be that kind of person and to be so good looking and talented makes him even more awesome.

I next watched, Baby and I which even made me give him more respect. I truly hope he gets more good acting roles in the future and continues to prosper aaand i hope he finds a nice girlfriend lol cause he's sooo sweet.

sorry i just had to say that as a new Jang Geun Suk fan :D (omg he's gorgeous!!)

This is so weird. we haven't talked in a little over a month. it's dumb, i can even remember the date we stopped talking.

there are days when I still have urges to talk to you, but what for? We'd just argue and ever since I found out the truth about you, nothing has ever been the same and nothing will ever be the same. I realized it's not that I love you or anything dumb like that. I'm just used to you cause you were the outlet when there was no outlet. But now that I realize I dont need an outlet, I know that I don't need you anymore

I hope you found someone new to use. And I can't wait for the day that someone uses you.

A lot of you guys will think I'm crazy and stupid. I don't care though. I love doing what I do best. =D

I told her I really need to talk to her and begged her to hang. She eventually craved in. I knew she would. Thank god. I took her to this restuarant. It happened  that her friend worked there. I asked her to join us. :phew: I was flirting with her friend the whole time. I even asked for her number (just to order take out). So I claim. This was to threw her off. I'm sure it worked. She had a sad face the whole time. God, I can be an richard simmons. After leaving, I picked her up and said I was kiddnapping her. She was yelling at me to put her down. I carried her to a nearby coffee place. God dam, the coffee is so good you have to wait 30 minutes. X_X While we were waiting, I asked her if I was a filrt. We have this inside joke. She replied yes looking sad/sacrastic. Then I said "a big one"? Before she could answer, I interrupted "btw I know I got you a crappy bday gift. So I got you a new one. Close your eyes." I was pretending to take something out of my pocket. She closed her eyes. I took her hand and opened it like I was gonna give her something. Then I gave her a kiss on the cheek. She was soo shocked. Then, our coffee came. I went into the bathroom. Came back and said "I have something for you." She was shocked and had a look like "oh no what is he up to now." I gave her a teddy bear and around its paw was a balloon. The balloon read be mine! and had a inside joke on the other side. She then walked to the other side. And yelled NO with a cute evil face while smiling. So I was like WHAT?! :fury: Then moved closer. She repeated no with the same look while giggling. And I was like "say that again" while walking right up to her. She repeated it again. So I rebounded with "you can't say no. it wasn't a question!!!!". Leaned in for a kiss. Then suddenly gave her a hug to fool her. The stupid girl surprised me with a kiss! Like WTH man. Then yeah it was magic after that. Everything ended well. :D

I might be loser hopeless romantic but it works. ;)

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for some reason this was so cute to me. especially when you said you were going 'say that again' ahhhhh the two of you are so cute i just wanna die.

this whole post was just super cute but for some reason it makes me want to curl into a ball and cry lmao.

question: am i the only one whos not into the hyori x big bang thing?

lol i love it. i think it's exciting and cool...i think it's also cause i like hyori and she seems like a cool down to earth person.

it'll be interesting to see them work together.

i know i'm mad late but i'm watching Come to Play and I just love these guys lmao they're crazy! Anyway people in here thanks for keeping us informed. I loved the Foolish Love performance...there's something about the way T.O.P. performs lol....SeungRi is just LOVE. I REALLLY like his voice I never used to pay attention to it before but now I do and it's very awesome. DaeSeung very rarely messes up with his live singing and TaeYang was so cute. It was all good...thanks again guys!

I think I'm going to offend some people with this comment so i'll just preface it by saying "Sorry."

Anway, I love Big Bang but they are not the second coming and they are not the hottest thing to come out of Korea, especially not in terms of hiphop. This "new genre" of music Big Bang showed is not new, it's called pop music. Kanye and G-Dragon are not on the same level, lets not even go there.

Seriously I do like Big Bang, Hot Issue was a fresh minialbum and thats why I love them but I think their latest Korean album is a jarble of techno and hiphop beats for the most part. They aren't really a hiphop group anymore, they're a pop group that wears hipster hiphop-ish clothing and is heavily influenced by hiphop, rap etc.

I'm not really offended to hear you call American hiphop a joke so much as confused because if you listen to shi.tty music then it's going to be a joke. If you listen to some good American hiphop then maybe you'll realize that it's not America's "fault", but yours for listening to Flo Rida when you could be listening to Lupe Fiasco, Pharell Williams, The Neptunes, Gnarles Barkley ETC I sound harsh but there's no other way to put it frankly.

Also, you do realize that Big Bang has sang and rapped about maybe 3 different things since they've debuted? Breaking up, sex and... money... Honestly, I really cant stand when people try to put down the American industry because they can't find good music in it.

ANYWAY, here's why I like Big Bang

They have good music for the most part (recently they've been slipping)

They have good singers and good rappers

Did I mention they have good rappers? In pop music in Korea thats a rarity

They can dance and they aren't afraid of women lol

And here are some pictures of nice looking things so that you all don't come looking for me and tar and feather me.

My sentiments exactly. You said everything that I wanted to say...only better. And those pics are hot i love the last one the best lol.

There is good music and there is bad music in all cultures. It's just a matter of finding what's right.

I still stress that I wish a different direction was taken with the new album, but it's working for them I guess. Maybe next album lol. LMAO@ them not being afraid of women....thank you!

but kanye is hip hop no? and kanye doesnt rap about his life much... i dont think i've ever heard him rap about his life (with the mainstream songs at least); i think TOP could make it as a soulful/argumentive hip hop artist- but not as an artist who raps about how many gangs they've killed and what color bandanna is hanging out of their backpockets -___-;; to me, that is not hip hop. that's gansta rap (LOL), not hip hop. it just all depends on what you consider hip hop i suppose...

i do believe TOP belongs in big bang, but for different reasons. he doesn't belong to the stereotypical big bang where girls swoon at his feet- his stage image doesnt display it, it displays more of a hard, edgy image. like, when i first heard big bang 2-3 years ago from my friend, i was like 'WTF? g-dragon is the most retarded name i've ever heard.. and TOP? what the heck? this is a total wannabe-hiphop-boyband' but now, i have NO idea what i was thinking, cuz these boys are like. i can't even explain it.. there's just nothing like them.

he DOES belong to the big bang where they pull off anything and everything because they OWN at it. big bang has so much variety that any kind of genre can fit into it: techno, r&b, rock, pop, etc. etc. some people consider it hip hop because there's rap -________________-;; THAT richard simmons me off. their new album? i dont consider that hip hop at ALL. its more techno and club

LOL, i dont know if this makes sense to you guys,

but it does to me! (:

All Kanye West raps about his is life 98% of the time. If you really listen to the lyrics, even the really popular songs, are about his life. His first hit was majorly about his life and the accident he got into. But I agree with what you say about his image onstage. I like his swagger and his overall demeanor. I like that he doesn't do the whole 'cutesy' act all the time that's deathly annoying lol.

But to bigbangismvp, i can see where you're coming from, but I dont think we can judge just yet. He's in a group, and to rap about his life may not be possible. Especially if you're in a group, and you all have to have one voice, then your voice somewhat becomes limited because you have to compromise and synchronize with the rest of the group. It would be different if he had a solo. We all dont know what he's really been through, and he might be able to rap about his life in a deep fashion. He does belong in Big Bang, they all do, but I think he could also have his own identity if he had the chance. You never know. then at the same time, i dont even know what i'm talking about either.

I will have to admit, there was a time when Big Bang first came out that I was skeptical of how earnest they were with who they were as artists. I didn't know if they were ripping off American groups and such and such. But now I can tell they're in the midst of trying to find their identity as artists and that's good. I hope to see more of these guys and hope for them to succeed more and more. And I can't stress how I like how in their performances they are not afraid to dance with female backup dancers. I love male backup dancers but there are some groups who take it too far lol love em and thanks for the updates guys.

i dont think gd has the 'edge' or a hip hop rapper (don't hate, its my opinion ok?). i see him more of a kanye or pharrell type (and you know they influence him a little.). i think hed make good house music or well, NOT hip hop (i also think he should be a model though hes probably too short or something). i think top should have become a 'real' rapper.

kanye takes a lot from asia (love lockdown and a few other songs have japanese drum background) but a good deal of the music industry looks up to him and gets stuff from him (big bang included, they say they look up to him and sometimes it really shows almost to a fault, at least for me)

love lockdown was more inspired by African music han it was by Japanese. Anyway I do kind of agree, TOP should've become a rapper rapper. I want him to have his own album so that I can see how he'll deliver (i swear i look forward to his singing parts in all the songs). I don't think him and TaeYang fit that 'idol' image...i dont think Big Bang does at all.

I LOVED the comeback. I mean to me that had to be one of their best performances. They were united and it just all made perfect sense. They all went hard at it. I loved their entire performance.

I gave their album more thorough listens and it's not so bad. My favorite song is still Foolish Love (AHHHHHHHHHHHH)

The guys are awesome and I want them to keep up the good work. TOP looks soooo hot they all do, but i wish he'd get rid of that thing on his face lol.

I agree with some of the posters here. Not trying to bash Big Bang. I love them entirely. Yes, they have been experimenting with this new techno sound, but now it is to the point where it's a little bit expected. For the Haru Haru song and Heaven, it being a mini-album, I let it slide. And also, those songs were good. The mini-album was good to me.

The only problem I feel is that musically, even if they have stepped forward from the first time they came out, right now I feel like they're in limbo. I'm not saying that the guys aren't trying or working hard, but to me it just seems like there wasn't enough put behind doing something new. I mean, that's part of where the excitement for us fans and for them should lie. Like, when I'm anticipating one of my favorite artist's comebacks, I'm thinking omg what new look will they have? What new sound will they go for now? And I was like that with Big Bang but to me, it's like you can tell this was rushed. Even the video--I get the message and I'm all for their positivity, but I was just lost. Even the direction of the video was a bit too hasty.

As for the album, to have all those remakes and remixes is making me wonder how much time was spent on this album. I don't know why they are in a rush. I know it might be a business move, that the demand of Big Bang is high right now, but because it's high I feel that is more reason for more time to be placed on each song especially each album. An artist's sophomore album is way more important than the first and for this one, I'm not too sure what they were trying to do.

And the thing is it might not even be their fault. The execs making all these rushed decisions may be the ones. Hopefully for their next album they will take more time or something.

Anyway, I hope TOP gets the rest he deserves as all of them. I don't know if part of the reason is them being afraid that their popularity will fade out.

But absence makes the heart grow fonder and I dont think fans will mind waiting for them to release some quality, new, and original music.

But then all of that is just my opinion there is someone out there who may feel the total opposite so I'm not trying to knock anyone down. Just calling it the way I see it.

ahhh the concert looked like so much fun. i'm so glad big bang is one of those groups that aren't afraid of being seen with girls lol or dancing with them too. i can't wait for their american concerts so that i can go and see what they're all about. thank you everyone for sharing those pics and fancams. my fav is the one with TOP wearing that white jacket being surrounded by girls wearing black lol! he looks sooooo good! they all do.

    thanks again!

  11.

K seriously. I'm wondering if it's a financial move why they're making yet another mini-album instead of a full album (if this information is true) or if it's just that their schedule doesn't permit it. Why can't they just wait until they have time? (maybe they don't have time at all)

and then to top it off it's a remake. I mean, it's all cool and nice how they've rearranged the remake but it's still like, come on lol.

Anyway I can't wait to see it I guess

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i love it. FINALLY the guys are around girls. I've always loved bands that were unafraid of 'having contact with women'. The inability for most bands to do so has always irked my nerves so much. I guess I'm just one of those weird fans lol

but i loved it. lol taeyang's interaction with that dancer is fierce lmao if she didn't have a boyfriend i'd think they were together in real life. Of course TOP made me love him ten times more because he looks freaking perfect up there. Lol seeing him in a club is just so idk lol TOP-like? G-Dragon was cool and so was everyone else (i kind of wish the other two had more scenes? they weren't shown enough) But the one who really grasped me in this one was TaeYang. His swagger was just gripping lol.

I also love the song. It appears that the same person who directed D.I.S.C.O. did this one. And then I was wondering where the male race was in the club cause I don't think I saw any other guys lol. Even though the whole 'club video' concept is a bit tired, to me it isn't when it comes to a boyband. it's so refreshing to see a young boyband in one cause lol i'm getting tired of the squeaky clean image of 'we are saints and can't be around women and only around each other and a thousand other men for the sake of our sensitive fans and blah blah blah'

    LOVED IT!

sooooo for some reason I had this sudden urge to listen to Stand Up today. I had only schemed through the album once the day it came back and was highly unimpressed (i think i mentioned that here but still gave them props) and for some reason I listened to it today and just FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. I don't know how it happened it was like a magical spell (aka maybe it was Taeyang and TOP's sexiness hehe) but I know i'm mad late, but the album is really good even though the only song i skip is Oh My Friend even if I still like it. They did a good job with it I have to admit after giving it some deeper listens. At first I used to think Big Bang were just 'copycats' and with this album even if they're going with the current trends in a way they're becoming trendsetters, because this is way different than all their other albums and in some weird way I can tell that they're finally finding their own style. I don't know where they stand musically but I think they're going in a good direction finding their own.

Anywho I just wanted to say that lol. About the second MV I mean it was kind of pointless to me. They might as well have made a behind the scenes video and called it a day. It was cool though I just enjoyed looking at TOP LOL!

Anyway it's nice to see how far these guys have come from their humble beginnings. It excites me for some reason lol and I'm happy for their success and hope they keep doing what they're doing and more. Next time I hope they release a longer album, but a part of me feels these mini-albums are some sort of business move due to the poor sales in music now. They did sell well though and I hope to get like a 6+ album next time hehehe :D sorry for ranting i was totally irrelevant lol

I was really looking forward to this album. I was so amped up for it. I love Big Bang and all, but I was very let down by the project. It seemed a bit rushed. There was no exploration there with their sound (wait, i take that back, they did explore by doing something different in comparison to their other albums...but...)--it seems like with the success of Lies, they keep recycling that same sound. The only 'song' that I liked was the intro, i wish that was an entire song. And no, I'm not hating on them. It's just my opinion. Maybe the album will grow on me if I give it a few more listens. I still commend them as a group. I just wish they'd been a bit more...I don't know. I was just expecting something else.

As for the video, I really liked it. As in really. I miss videos like that with a plot even though it was a bit confusing what was going on in the video. There was a lot of emotion, movement, interaction between the members. It might have been a bit overacted on G-Dragon's part lol but it was still really good (ahhh i wished they showed Taeyang more) but anyway I loved the video and only wished the song could've been better lol.

Anywho I congratulate them on their success though! :)

Omo, I'm sorry that you had to go through that, but, I must agree with some of the the posters here.

Asians are a tad bit more racist. Like, we look down on/don't like blacks....

I'm pretty sure those not born in an Asian country, are more open-minded though.

But, I was born in Canada, and I'm still racists to blacks.... x/

Like, I dunno, my friends and I don't have any problems with other races, but, blacks, stereotypically, and those in my school+neighbourhood, we just wanna avoid them. =/

Though, we try to give them a chance first....

    lol at least you're honest.

but saying 'we try to give them a chance first...' is a real lame attempt to sound neutral.

You think that is weird ... try being a mixed blood and trying to date an INDIAN girl ! Its the same in almost ALL ASIAN communtieis ... I mean even Caucasians are the same too , I've heard by far share of behind the back insults when I used to date "white" people ... Mostly its the guy who has been holding in the feelings for quite a while , and when sees "his" girl with someone else , esp. one different from him , his "superiority" whatever that is kicks in ! He is actually a nice guy per say but some things bring out the worst in you I guess !

I'm really sorry for what happened , just put it behind you ... To be honest I feel that the guy could have stood up a lil more for you there .. You are better off you know , pushing out guests and they think they are "cultured" .. Sheesh !

Did you read the first post well ? the girl I guess was ehhh ... BLACK / Japanese !

And the guy - KOREAN !

if i hadn't read the first post i wouldn't be responding to the discussion. I was speaking in general terms. I did say 'where i am from' at least i never see that. and the girl said her and the guys were friends working on a project. they weren't in a relationship...or at least i don't recall reading that. maybe i misread?

Racism is prejudice and discrimination based on race. Not sure how this can even be a legitimate topic of discussion. Racism is prejudicial and discriminatory. It is not one or the other. Having a bad experience and using such experience to make gross generalizations is never right. And frankly, no, I will not take actions to change their misguided perception of me or my race. I don't feel any moral obligation to 'right' their perception of me or my color (nationality). If I choose to date someone of a different race, this has nothing to do with me taking actions to change another's perception of me, but is me simply doing what I want to do. The fact that it may look that way (if anyone is bold enough to point to such correlation) is merely a coincidence. If someone I happen to meet has a negative view of my race, it makes no difference to me whether their views are formed through the media or first hand experiences. To me, they're automatically discounted as idiots and dealt that way. You don't avoid sh.t on the sidewalk because you fear it. You avoid it because it's shi.t.

Idiots fear change and the unknown. Anyone with a half a brain knows that changes in life comes through chance and necessity, and sometimes it has a purpose.

lol that's the best comment i've seen in the whole post. thank you!!!

  16.

by the way...what richard simmons me off, is the fact that they "hate" black peps but they do everything to look like them...i am talkin about the cloth, dance etc...it's just paradox for me...why don't they hangout in hangbok and sing traditioanal songs instead of hip hop! I am absolutely not racist! but i do not understand that behavior...someone explains that to me please

that's something i never understood about some asian cultures or just other cultures in general. This isn't in regards to the elderly people. I mean it's understandable that they want to keep their culture but at times i feel the racism towards black people from other cultures is just to look down on the under dog. I cant understand why racism against blacks is so universal yet things from our culture are 'copied' (dont be offended by the term) time and time again. The whole 'rap, r&b, hip hop' style has inspired a lot of other cultures. And in all honesty all of that has derived from us black people. So i really dont understand why that demeaning is there.

About Asians being racist, to me at the end of the day it really depends on the person. I know that's a tired cliche but it's a cliche that is true. In my college it's pretty easy to see how Asians sort of seclude themselves, but then who doesn't? there are blacks who seclude themselves. There are whites who do that, hispanics...

And i've grown to realize it's because there's these imaginary barriers that society places around us. When I talked to this Japanese guy about how I know a bit of their culture, that imaginary door just broke down. So yes i think there is also a language barrier and large culture difference but when people do something so simple as 'talk' they realize that the whole discrimination thing is pointless.

Granted I've met some Asians who think blacks are below them, I also know that sometimes blacks have their own stereo-typical views of asians. Like you will never see an Asian guy and black woman together...ever! not where i'm from at least. and i've never even seen or heard of a couple like that. It's common to see a black guy and an asian woman, or a white guy and an asian girl or a white guy/asian woman...asian guy, white woman...but you never hear/see of black woman and asian guy. I dont know why...

Anyway, either way, yes racism is there. I think it all depends. And like someone said, you can be friends with them, but it's like as far as relationships or anything deep like that happening...it's almost impossible. With a black girl and an asian at least lol. Being a black girl and all it sucks cause if i think an asian guy is kind of cute its like oh well you know?

oh yeah someone in this post made a comment about how the whole darkskin thing in africa isn't true (about darker people being treated worse than lighter ppl) it's very true. even in america--especially in america. there's this skin complex where the whiter you look, the prettier/better you are.
