  1. This isn’t a traditional drama love story. In fact I wouldn’t even deem it a tragic love story. I view this drama as a story about the lives of the women that revolve around the King of Joseon. So beautifully well done. It showed three generations of “Kings/Princes” and how women were treated around them. Grandfather wielded his power and you needed to be useful to him. He wasn’t unnecessarily cruel but the people beneath him were in fact beneath him. In the drama he was paranoid. The son was a sadistic cruel man and the grandson was kind and gentle. Many women in the drama lived through all three generations. And it shows how you need to adapt in the palace. Depending on who is in power.

  2. There’s a lot to be said about this drama. But I had to jump in (I usually just lurk) and say that I find the court lady’s friendship so refreshing. This is a back to basics historical, which I love and missed, but it’s also giving us some refreshing storylines. I love the lower level court ladies, I love that it isn’t a traditional love triangle. The drama that happens comes from realistic places. With RSC I’m tense and on the edge of my seat but in a good way. Plus the acting is stellar and flows.

  3. Okay so after watching Friday’s episode I truly think NAG was killed by DT. All the switch-a-roo’s can get explained throughout the rest of the season or S3. But I think this is SSR. She’s had plenty of time to get a tattoo and act the part. I think she is trying to learn even more of DT secrets, ect... all we know is the end game is revenge. Logan pretended to be someone else in S1 too. This would fit the theme.

Logan and Rona story isn’t over. Something is going on. He’d be way more upset over her death than he seems. At the grave he seemed to be waiting for Yoon Hee to get over the grief and go all out crazy for revenge. I think this is the ultimate set up for a Logan to get revenge on Yoon Hee and get what he wants out of the Hera group.

That is because that's the real SSR. Na Ae Kyo only pretended to be SSR at certain events and places. She did this for the past 20 years.

I’m not sure how this will all play out or what the backstories are but this is a crazy plot twist that I can get behind. If they make it make sense (like Kboramimt is suggesting). They were clearly looking for the birth mother. She’s been hinted at all season long. It would be a great character arc for SK if she was truly nasty and mean to her own birth mother. I know DT is a nasty piece of work but I’m wondering if there is more behind his violence towards his kids as well.....It would be interesting if the moms switched places for certain moments and events.

My questions if they did: Why? What would be the point? What is the twins moms motive or goal?

As for BH I hope her character arc delivers and doesn’t just go off the rails. I kinda want to see her rise, destroy her own mother, win, and then completely crumble in S3.

If Na Ae Gyo pretended to be Shim Su Ryeon in the past (like for 20 years), then the writer opened up a real possibility that Na Ae Gyo was the one that died that night. So to summerize....

    • It is possible that Na Ae Gyo is one that died that night, trying to protect her birth children
    • The day that Na Ae Gyo "disappeared" could also be the same day that Shim Su Ryeon was "murdered".
    • Logan Lee was in contact with Na Ae Gyo in the past.
    • There is a possibility that Na Ae Gyo that is with Ju Dan Tae in Episode 7 is not really her

Had to read this a few times to comprehend. My goodness that would be a crazy twist.

  6. I’ve noticed the ones who don’t “win” are the characters with the most redeemable qualities. Might be setting SK up with a story arc that ends in tragedy.

As for EB, I think we are seeing how her mother was created. SJ is just like her FATHER. EB was one of the nicer kids S1, ep 1. She’s actually had one of the more interesting character developments and arc. Maybe she kills her mom in S3?

The twins want nothing to do with their parents so they are rogues. Everyone else is just like their parents. Maybe Rona is another “rogue” and learned from her mom’s mistakes and isn’t really dead....

    is it next week?

  7. I’ve read soompi for years but I had to create an account just to discuss this wacky addicting drama!

my theory on why Rona isn’t dead: she told Seok-hoon she couldn’t have pasta with him. She was busy. She KNEW something was gonna go down. Wouldn’t shock how much this whole Rona/EB thing was faked by Logan and the “nanny”. Everyone knew she took pills. Logan and co used that to trick EB. I think there’s a reason we don’t see the trophy scene and how Rona gets it stuck to her head. I think that was Logan. I just do not see this ending this way.

as for the comments of the actress saying Dan-Tae was her biggest obstacle this season. I think it’s because of the son. I think SH is full on Rona mode and won’t turn back now. Might even get recruited to Logan side.
