  1. Hey guys. I'm sorry I haven't been that active here during the break, it's because I didn't want to engage in anything regarding CLOY so I won't miss it haha.

Anyways, back to the episode. I don't really know where to begin... I've been so so so excited for this episode ever since we got a preview of the Ducklings and JH in South Korea but idk, I felt like the episode didn't actually live up to the hype it generated? I mean, the episode was nice(?) but I felt like they were a lot of bland scenes. Its not really unnecessary, but they could've made it better. I dont know if anyone understands how I'm feeling... I mean after being separated for that long, without being able to talk to other, and having to go through that hardship (going through the tunnel and looking for SR all over gangnam) and then being able to see each other again. Was a hug really all both of you would do? No forehead kiss, at least? No "I've missed you like crazy"? I guess it just wasn't the reunion I was expecting, or maybe I expected too much to begin with.

Second, when SR asked JH if she was the only reason JH went to SK, and JH straightforwardly answered that it wasn't only because of her but because of his family as well. I think that was a nice reply to her question. It goes to show that, as much as he worried about her safety, going to her meant he'll be risking the safety of his family. He knew what crossing the border implies, and having answered what he said to SR shows that he's looking at the bigger picture. That it won't just end with SR's life being in danger, but she'll also be used to harm his family. So his reason wasn't as shallow as it may seem.

Third, having actually enjoyed those scenes where they went shopping and the ducklings enjoying their sauna session, I really just felt like the whole episode lacked the intensity it once had. Comparing this episode to the snow scene where JH just got shot and him still going to SR , the feelings they had, and their body language, I felt like SR and JH went back to being a bit awkward? No skinship, little physical contact, having somewhat a wall between them or a line that both a afraid to cross? Sigh.

And lastly, I'm disappointed with how easy it was for CCG to get to SR. I mean, really? Being in such a big company, and no extra security? How the hell did he get to even disguise himself

as a security personnel, don't they have requirements and interviews they need to pass? Was it really that easy and fast to be hired? And shouldn't SR, having known that CCG was after her, made her security a lot tighter? Regardless of the fact that JH's with her, extra help would have been appreciated.

Well that's it folks. I'm hoping the writer will redeem herself on episode 12. Still, good job to the cast and crew. I love CLOY still.

At the risk of ripe tomatoes being thrown at me, I also slight issue with the OTP's sexual chemistry.  It probably is the director's fault for giving vague and zoomed out kisses haha. :phew: But boy do they severely lack in that department.

While their romantic chemistry is off the charts, their skinship has not blossomed along with their deepening love for each other. I cannot help but remember that the characters are already in their 30's and worse yet, the actors playing them are close to 40.

RJH comes off so rigid, so inexperienced and so innocent most times that I cannot imagine them going on a honeymoon or having babies in the future. I'm not even suggesting a love scene, just a realistic portrayal of star-crossed lovers being torn apart by cruel the world they live in.  A little bit of "malice" can do them good you know :D.

That kind of love and yearning from the OTP should entail even the slightest urge to caress or touch each other. Isn't that human nature? NK men or SK men or Asian men or European men, they are still men. Same for women too.

Now that their relationship has gone deeper, it is kind of frustrating to see them still act like shy, timid teenagers. I mean this is Hyun Bin we are talking about, one of the hottest men who ever walked the earth. That man can kiss (I haven't seen him in any love scene though).

The lack of touch and those kindergarten kisses are a total waste of real life chemistry between Hyun Bin with Son Ye Jin. I mean have you seen their interviews together? Hyun Bin is always just one step away from eating SYJ whole, the way he looks at her. She even playfully calls him Ahjussi in one of their interviews. He can definitely handle a hot kiss or two.

Speaking of tomatoes, whatever happened to that tomato plant in NK? Did it die? I was expecting it to be featured in the separation scene. I hope RJH brought it with him to SK. I suspect they won't be having any hot scenes in the future so it will probably do them good if they could water that damned plant together, say 10 chaste and innocent words to it. :D

I totally agree with you on this one. I think the Director is somewhat teasing us knowing that a more mature scene between the couple is what everyone's been waiting for. I mean, duh, its Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin for Christ's sake. The Director probably knows what both of them can deliver if its actually needed, right? They already have amazing chemistry to begin with, why not utilize that and give us an awesome kiss scene that would probably make us hit the replay button over and over and over.

They have made RJH's personality so stoic and innocent, that even when he was all alone with Se-ri for the last time before she crosses the border,  he didn't even held her hand and they just walked  side by side? Like what. Is that really what a man would do knowing that thats probably the last time he'll be seeing the woman he loves? But on a side note, RJH is slowly...in turtle pace... ever so slowly coming out his shell a bit, with every episode. With his sudden hand holding in front of his parents, to the goodbye kiss. But its still not enough... WE WANT MORE. AND I'M PRAYING TO THE KDRAMA GODS THAT WE GET WHAT WANT. CHEBAL

I think it is because he knows everybody’s secrets. He told JH that his job enables him to know what goes on beyond closed doors. We still don’t know who the real villain is, so his knowledge might be helpful. That’s my guess.

I guess you're right... I'm just thinking about how he can use his skill of "eavesdropping" in SK, or if will he still be able to do that in SK? Cause from the previous ep, it seems like its just them plus Cho Chul Gang in South Korea. All of CCG's secrets or at least most of it has already been exposed during the trial. Who else's secrets should they need to know? Unless of course they'll install those bugging devices again even in SK. They need him to listen to new secrets, I suppose. Because if he knew something amiss about those we're doubtful about, like maybe SD's uncle, don't you think he would've told JH that already?

  4. Oh and I forgot to mention this, but I'm having weird thoughts with the role of the Rat in all this? Does he really have to be included in the team who'll get JH back to the North? I mean, first off he has a family left behind. How can they just send him like that? Seeing how he is badly needed there, there must be a reason right? Second, I get it that he had a big role in the case of JH's brother and JH's dad trusted him with his son, but what kind of help can he contribute given that he isn't a soldier to begin with. That's why I'm having these thoughts that maybe, in the worst case scenario possible, that he would play a big role in protecting either JH or SR. Maybe even at the cost of his life? I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help but think that way. He was an accomplice in killing JH's brother after all, and no matter how much he's regretted it, the guilt is always there. And what better way to atone for his sins and redeem himself of all the guilt than giving away his life to protect Mu Hyeok's brother? That way he'll be able to repay Mu Hyeok. It's a scary thought, and I hope I'm wrong.
