She's in her 3rd year. You don't choose who you have a crush on. It just happens . Because someone has a crush on a senior / professor doesn't mean that person is there for the wrong reasons. 9+ years of study, night duties , no weekend, no time to rest and someone is there for the wrong reasons. In the medical field, it happens a lot. Professors are in a relationship/married with residents. Interns dating interns or medical students.

That made it even worse.....which is why she earned a hallway on-the-spot rebuke from a senior consultant for thoughtless indifference in dispatching the patient kid's mom in the beginning episode.  A  rookie mistake ..... or simply lacking in fundamentals?

Fully agree about the relationships thingy...which seems common, as I've seen in my Hospital system too.  However with the skill-set and age gap...chances are, they are already aiming to be 2nd or 3rd wife of the more senior MD.

edit: Dr. Maggot and Jeongwon’s love line is a no brainer. It’s been doomed from the very start. In their scenes, Jeongwon always looks like he’s annoyed and can’t be bothered. Episode 7 is the start of the end for them. Jeongwon’s body language when he went out of the room to see her waiting for him says it all. When he saw her, he automatically assumed it’s business and turned his back on her while checking his phone. When Jang demanded him to buy her a meal, he was hesitant and quick to say they’ll have a colleague get-together instead. He was setting boundaries as he has been doing from the start.

Especially for a first year intern, it may not be a good idea... to target a super conservative consultant (professor) as her object of romance at work.  Chances are... it is a turnoff chased this way... especially when she has not shown any impressive trait to warrant any romantic interest.....unless she is super provocative and the guy is a DOM.

More so...a seasoned surgeon will be harder to impress, by just the mere optics of working extra hard. Perhaps if she can show more wit, grit and ability in the delivery of care to a patient in the OR.

Her interest first and foremost... should be to learn...or it will come off as...she is in this profession for all the wrong reasons.  Unfortunately just being super sweet in this line work...does not count.

    ...Just saying.

I think the reason Jeong Won turned down Gyeo Wool was because other people who admire or try to hit on him can take a casual dinner/movie outing and not make a big deal out of it......she is different, she is pretty straight forward.....there is a chance his carefree casual hanging out with her will cause her to get her hopes up for no reason.......she is different, he notices that...hence he keeps extra distance.....I know its heartbreaking but I just don't see this progressing as long as Jeong Won is completely over his intention of becoming a priest...Also Yoon Bok and Hong Do have twin cousin Monae and Manae.......the same Monae who is Wuju's friend!!!

Either that.... or he is fully aware that he carries a large target on his back. As the Heir, and technically... the sole owner of the Hospital... these are the realities that come with the status. Being single (available) and accomplished surgeon (Prof)...it is inevitable... there will be shot-takers.  It cannot be helped.

Just like Dr Chae Seong-Hwa...who has a similar target on her back. Why...even Capt Ahn who just joined the team, failed to resist falling for her....for who can overlook a well rounded (do-it-all), fully accomplished (Prof),  charming single female professional... with a sterling record. BTW...notice her unflinching muted smile after she asked Capt Ahn...do you like me?  and her body language seemed to suggest...it was something expected and ordinary.

So, it is understandable... if both are wary of falling rocks and romantic arrows along their path....  from friends or associates alike.  Is it any wonder... they both hold their cards very close to their chest?

    Just a wild guess.  :P

Also drama as much as I love her, please give my Dr. Jang more development/something to do other than be a potential love interest. Display her work and skills like you did in episode

It is a long series....she will definitely get her Crush-Landing-On-You  moment....in order to show and equally highlight JeongWon's romantic development.  But whether she gets a touch-down or not....let us see.

Also, so far he is the only guy in the Fab5 who has no loveline yet... past or present....oh wait, I thought he has remained celibate (virgin) up to this point (40+), which may be true...ie. no date, no girlfriend, no sex, no nothing ...which is rather amazing...given that men think about it 24/7.

    ;)

Am I the only one whose anticipating jeong won and song hwa's scene together? I mean just the two of them, if am not mistaken until the last episode aside from eating and group practice they only shared two phone calls.

I am with you on the Jeongwon/Songhwa ship.... based entirely on my Kdrama viewing experience.  As cliche-yish as can be... in every drama...there is always a girl who is open and overtly expressive... wearing her feelings on her sleeve.

And there is also a girl who is modest, humble and unassuming... As expected, the discreet girl wins in the end.  Simply put...who is the more compelling one, Dr Jang Gyeo-UI or Dr Chae Seong-Hwa?

Therefore, if there is a girl who can prevent Jeong-Won from going Priest, chances are... it is not Dr Jang.

Just a minority point of view.

I'm honestly surprised that no one has suggested that Jun-wan is pretending to be in love with Ik-sun so as to mislead the audience that he's really in love with Song-hwa.

    Or maybe they have...

Just the thought of it... is too cruel and sadistic .... like playing with someone's dear life.

Unless the girl knows it ...and willingly plays along.

    What a sham!

But this was supposed to be a joke. An entire family of priests and nuns... that hardly ever happens. It has nothing to do with DNA. It's not the same thing as having a whole family of doctors or lawyers or musicians. You're talking about a whole generation of men and women who aren't reproducing after themselves. ;) There's no one to carry on the family bloodline much less take on the family business. That is such an un-Korean thing to do. This is why his friends think he is nuts. He is the only one left who can potentially have a family.

    You may be right.

But looking back...when the chairman died.. Jeong-Won was the only remaining eligible heir or successor. Note, his older siblings were no longer eligible or have forfeited their right to the inheritance.  Surprise surprise Jeong-Won gave up or passed.  I thought he was just too righteous ...no greed in his bones.

However when he expressed his desire (to his mom) to enter the priesthood...that seems to explain it all.....and why he has no interest in acquiring material things or position.  Priesthood requires a "vow of poverty" were they live and die bereft/deprived of any material possession.  So it makes sense.

If this holds, then Dr Jang has no chance.  Perhaps Song Hwa has... since they've known each other like forever, and I am guessing.. she holds a special place in his heart.

yup. Bingo.  Which is why if you look at the poll, barely anyone believes he will end up a priest.

Only a mind-reader can tell if he is serious about becoming a priest.

But based on his DNA or family history, there is a very good chance he will....unless perhaps  Song hwa finds a way to stop him....as he seems to be the best fit... still pure and clean.  The other guys are experienced romantics....so Jeong-Won is not a bad choice....a dark horse.

    Just a purist POV.  :w00t:

Gyeoul played secondary role while Chihong played only a minor role

She was in another drama Queen of Mystery ....

in a similar typecast role chasing the male lead, Kwan Sang Woo.

...she may get the male lead this time....if the writer does not bring Taek back.

There's a lovely logic to the show with regards to the personality types.

Lovely indeed...and I got drawn to it as well.

But not only the personalities.... but also the theme or substance we see every episode. Can't say enough about the writer's use of parallels to further enrich it's content.
    1. The Catholic faith (JW's family) and JW who has remained celibate

         ...and preparing for priesthood(?).
    2. The Military (Capt Ahn, IkSun and one of the twins).
    3. The Surgeons at their best.

All are noble professions/vocation demanding dedication, commitment, discipline, and selflessness.

Note:  The main cast are nearing mid-life (40's)... yet all are single, except for IkJun (just divorced)...a victim of the rigors of the trade...(i.e. too much time with patients and with friends).

Finally...love the bond (friendship), and The Band...where they get to unwrap the day and verbalize their hearts and minds into one harmonious melody.  A joy to see them play and have fun (singing their hearts out)...bonding like glue..... after a strenuous day restoring the sick to good health.

A perfect mix of selfless friends.....nice.

All chase are dangerous and risky. Police can never catch criminals if they have to consider

Exactly right....precisely why it should not be permitted in any Hospital setting.

The guy could have knocked over a pregnant mom, an elderly patient, a child, or other

odd people in those corridors. It had a potential of creating more harm and damage

to others than what the guy already did to his kids.

Also, putting up extra effort ...or simply working extra hard... but does not get the desired results... will only get her..."participation trophy points".  Making the "right course of action" at the right time does....which was what Dr Bae did.  Let Security people or the cops do the chasing  ....that's their job.

More so...in a past ep, Dr Jang started her day by nosing around, plotting and/or tracking Dr Choir Boy.  She seems more concerned about her romantic aspirations than her desire to help people in need of care. Surprise, surprise... she got a  reprimand for exercising poor judgement on a patient.

    Just saying.  :(

Jang was not dazing off when asked to call the police but the corner of her eyes caught sight of the father noticing them talking about calling the police. Somebody has to detain him before the police arrives since he was actively trying to run. It is also not evident, in this case, that Bae was quick-witted to call the police. For all we know, she could’ve been requested to call the police after the chase ensued.

The barefoot chase was dangerous, stupid and childish ....more reflective of lack of better  judgement. It could have resulted in more injuries to herself, and others... in a very crowded corridor. It endangered other patients..., a medical no-no.

It was Dr Jang's subtle attempt at getting noticed/attention ...especially by Jeong-Won, who is more concerned at serving people...which easily explains his desire to enter  the priesthood.

Given that....I will eat my shorts if Dr Jang earned Jeong-Won's fancy... by her display of another poor judgement.   ;)

Sae Ro Yi is also doing his own planting seeds and nurturing lol I mean he started it, let’s see what he had said to Yi Seo so far:

    - you are impressive

    - Because I need you

    - What upsets me is you who I thought is on my side aka I want you on my side

    - If you don’t like the name then I will not choose it

    - You are not mean and coldhearted

    - She is my partner

    - I know everything about her

    - Because you are the one I trust the most

and last but not least “I can’t imagine Danbam without you”

That last line perhaps....pushed YS ... beyond the point of no-return.  :)

    Some questions...

YS and Granny together is suspicious... is there a deeper connection?
And the mob boss...like Granny, is he a friend or foe... unless he was just another furniture in the early ep... will he reappear?

The psy war (mind game) now playing on his thick-shelled Chestnut head... is pleasantly entertaining.  Got to love the mischief smile... after delivering the unexpected "Sarangae" blow from way yonder.

His stunned...deafening silence only betrayed any effort to shield his delicate heart.  It seems resistance is futile... he can't hide from the relentless nutcracker.   :P

By stubbornly refusing to acknowledge it... he (SR) will never know what hit him when that seed grows into a fully mature plant.

You do not find happiness in revenge. It’s a cliche because it is true. If you do find “happiness”, it will be a twisted kind of happiness. There’s a reason that thought has been repeated ad nauseum all over the world.

I see it as an... "all consuming passion".... to beat the odds of crushing JDH and Jangga.

This propelled him to get this far... and will achieve even more... as the dust of (so called) "revenge" finally settles.  Along the way, it made him into a better person and business achiever; and made some odd looking people do well in their own lives.

His dad was as forgiving and an achiever in his own right... but never reached his level of success. So, by his dad's standards...he has already won.

Note, there was no use of violence, intimidation, nor foul-play... even if he has the leverage and connection to do so.... thru the mob boss cellmate.  But never chose that path.

He stuck to his plan to be methodical, fair, humane and businesslike,  which is why his "quest" (or conquest) so far is.... positive, constructive and fruitful.

Now all he needs is win the "right" girl.  :sweatingbullets:... is that ...SA, YS ...or HY? :w00t:

And she's the reason I keep watching the drama. I like PSJ but sometimes I'll just skip episodes and watch the final if the FL is not interesting.

Same here. YS got me hooked to this drama.

She has keen eyes and sensors for potential trouble.....love the way she baited and dared GS every time he made a move... coz she can sense a brewing conflict... with him around.

So, finally she sent one Trojan horse (GS) out the yard, back to Jangga.... and this was easy.

SA is the other...  which will take a lot of undoing because this

white horse have deeper roots planted in PSR's heart.

SA is heavily underutilized. I'm not hating on her character, just critiquing the writing for her. She gets shoehorned into scenes that makes her feel out of place when she can be given more substantial things to do since shes a marketing major? Especially when she goes to Danbam she's like a plant.

or Furniture..... and so few spoken words too.

Edit: sorry for the harsh tone, I'm not trying to start a fight or anything like that, just stating what I think.

PSR should seek restitution equivalent to 10 years of Jangga earnings to provoke the chairman even more .....and he needs a really good and dirty lawyer like the Hyena.  :)

Which is truly kudos to him for creating a character like Yi Seo. I wonder what it would take for all this people hating on Yi Seo to realize that what they are hating on Yi Seo was the very thing that they are applauding for in a male character... this really makes me mad and sad how people just couldn’t see why Yi Seo is actually amazing. I’m glad SRY is not like those morons and can see Yi Seo and treasure who she is...

Great that YS is quick-witted.....but even greater is Kim DaMi's charming Mona Lisa smile...

But since the story about not giving up your principles for an easy life, I personally agree with narrative, that her working in Jangga knowing their history is very questionable. I'm pretty sure even in highly competitive SK there are better career options, than working for people, who you know killed your father figure.

If this revelation was said years ago and not 10 years after (which is now) ...it would have made a whole world of difference.  It was wait and see.... used Jangga for all its worth ....and hid this sentiment from the chairman (but you can tell the chairman knows this).

This tells you who she is.... and quite understandable she is trying to survive.

Else, she could have stood on PSR's side back then....and not in silence, behind the scenes all these years. ...... Only when she learned (to her surprise!) PSR had amassed substantial cash and investments, and got his far.  She probably looked at PSR as a joke... and played along,  especially for someone pennyless, orphaned, delusional and desperate after coming out of jail.

Even today, it'll be delusional for an ex-con small pub owner to be able to put a dent on a 10-Billion Jangga Co by any means.  But, is she now beginning to believe its possible?   It still looks impossible... but not to YS, because she believed in him.

society. And the part about second chances, just like the folks at Danbam, I hope that it could be given to SA as well. I can totally understand why based on the past, many are still wary of her character and question her intentions around SR/Danbam. I had wondered

SA had all the chances over the years....but only showed a token of her guarded sympathy for PSR..... Because she chose to play it safe putting all her eggs into the Jangga basket.......which is quite understandable as the Chairman saw to it... that was her only choice.

She is practically a conniving captive of Jangga as she plays PSR and JGW like a fiddle... using her charms.....well aware those men had their romantic eyes on her.

Quite unlike YS who shares the same feisty mindset and conscience for justice and fairness as PSR.   No wonder she went all-in for PSR... despite the hurdles and uncertainty/odds of their objective.  She quickly identified and adjusted into his psyche..even shedding tears of empathy and sadness over the pain and suffering PSR went thru in his journey......as if the pain was hers too.

Whereas SA never cared if PSR went to the gates of hell and back....as she can only offer a mere token of  subjective sympathy, from a distance....and when it is convenient.

Bottom line.... that girl SA sucks.

    Just my thoughts.
