  2. What a sweet finale for the show! It was a largely satisfying finale with a good balance of intense moments and funny moments. Yes there are aspects of the show I felt didn’t work so well, but it was definitely one of the most original and interesting shows this year! Sharing more of my thoughts here:

  3. Hi fellow fans,

I have to admit.. the show is confusing me with the logic behind the time travel at the moment and I’m confused by our character’s actions as well. However there’s still plenty to enjoy in the show like Eun Seob and Yeong, Shin-Jae’s meeting with his mum, and our OTP scenes!

  4. Hi all, thanks for all your theories about the episode and explanation about what’s happening. The time travel part is still quite confusing to me and I’m hoping the show can explain it well today and next week! nonetheless, I felt the episode was still engaging and provided us with some answers and sweet moments.

  5. I started off this show with not much expectations, given the premise was quite simple and straightforward. Watched the episodes this week and found it nice and enjoyable. It’s a simple romantic comedy with a straightforward storyline. The characters are likeable and it’s funny! Not the kind of show that will become super addictive, but a nice watch to unwind :) the romance is definitely tonnes more convincing than what we are seeing on The King Eternal Monarch

Shared my brief recap and thoughts on this week’s episodes on my blog here:

  6. What I liked about Episode 12:

    - More of Eun Soeb - he’s so hilarious!

    - lots more interaction between our OTP, I actually feel we don’t see enough of them and hence I like seeing them deepen their relationship

    - the mystery of the pain when there’s thunder and lightning

    - the revelation of the court lady noh at the end! Wow.... this opens up a lot of interesting storylines

    what I didn’t like

    - confusing timeline for our OTP. I’m not sure when that scene of Lee Gon giving Tae Eul flowers happened.
    - still wondering what’s going on with prime minster Koo

Yoyo child has a red string on his/her yoyo. That red string is the red string of fate. Luna asked the child about the string “by the way, that string why is it red” The child said “ I hooked it up myself” then Luna told the child to fix it because it looked like it might break. I have seen the red string of fate used in other K dramas and C dramas. The string is always used to tie lovers together and it's the red string of fate that keeps the lovers together no matter what.  Wikipedia says “The Red Thread of Fate ,,,is commonly thought of as an invisible red cord around the finger of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation as they are "their true love.”  The Yoyo child has by his/her own words “hooked up the fate of our couple”.  They belong to the child and now the child will help protect them. Luna gave the knife to the child to “protect what belongs to the child” and the child did just that when he/she gave it to JTE . The child is stepping in because it looks like “the string might break” and the child is just trying to restore the balance that the universe needs.

hi @linda55 thank you for the very clear and meaningful explanation! I was very confused by this scene but now I understand what was happening. It also goes to show that Luna might understand more about what’s going on than she lets on. She seems to have a very special relationship with the child with the yo-yo.

@linda55 can I include your explanation on my blog post about episode 11? The link is  https://kdramaanalysis.com/2020/05/23/the-king-eternal-monarch-episode-11/. I will attribute the explanation to you. Thanks m!

  8. I just watched the premiere of CLOY again yesterday and I was reminded of why I enjoy the show so much. Se Ri is such a hilarious character yet so confident and unafraid of what others think of her. Really enjoyed the show and I’m so impressed that it’s still within the top 10 shows on Singapore’s Netflix.

and I’m thinking of writing reviews of the show by episode again because there’s so much to enjoy in it!

By the way, I’ve also started a kdrama Instagram account at @kdramaanalysis ! Looking forward to connecting with fellow kdrama fans there
