  1. I hope Kyo is okay. She keeps deleting pictures from both her private and public Instagram accounts... I wish she updated something instead, but I suppose she'll be criticized if she does it (given the current situation). I don't understand why, but there are always people ready to pick on her. I miss her. I feel like I haven't seen her in ages... I hope she releases her photobook soon.

  2. It's no wonder that Vogue put Kyo's picture on their exhibition poster; as far as I know Vogue Korea and Kyo's career in the entertainment industry have almost the same age (according to Wikipedia, Vogue Korea released its first issue in August, 1996). Interesting. :)

By the way, I remember that last year, in September/October, Kyo's stylist posted some outfits for Vogue on her Instagram (unfortunately, she has recently deactivated her account). They were travelling in Europe at the time (possibly for her upcoming photobook), and ever since I saw that post I've been waiting for Kyo to appear on the cover of Vogue. At first, I thought it was going to be June this year... But it wasn't. Still, this exhibition makes me hope again that she might actually be on the Vogue cover in one of the upcoming summer months. I hope...

  3. About that Esprit interview: I know, she just answered a question, she didn't mention Gong Yoo first and she couldn't possibly say that she wouldn't like to work with him.

But actually it would be nice if they worked together in a drama or movie, wouldn't it? In a thriller, for instance... Anyway, the comments on Naver are positive, and this is what matters. Those on Nate are negative, and Nate is quite irrelevant. She is too beautiful, and some fangirls just can't stand it. I hope she chooses a project soon...

  4. I've been watching "Voice" these days (that drama is pretty violent, and I didn't really like it overall, so I only watched some parts), and I think Kim Jae Wook is a great actor. If Kyo chooses a thriller sometime, I hope she'll act with someone talented like him. Well, of course, it doesn't really matter who she works with.

  5. Hi, @ticktockjuly! I see no reason to worry. Kyo is 35 and she knows how to take care of herself. If you asked me, I'd say that she thinks of SJK only as a good friend, as her junior and little brother (which is also why she is so carefree around him). But that is just my opinion. Whoever she chooses, it's her personal life and I will always support her.

Speaking of little brothers, I have just found this on DC. I think it's the March issue of W Korea. Or is this an edited picture?

  6. I agree, Song Hye Kyo is very talented, and her acting in dramas/movies ranges from very good to perfect (I didn't watch Shining Days:(). She was a very good actor ever since she was young, but now she's perfect. My favorite actors she worked with are Won Bin, Kang Dong Won and Jo In Sung.

She's excellent in melodramas (TWTWB is my favorite drama of hers, actually I consider it the best Korean drama I have ever seen), so funny in comedies, she's also able to play the role of a villain so well (like she did in Camellia - conflicted villain), she can play and is credible in the role of a mother, a gisaeng, a high-school girl, a doctor... She's great. My second favorite drama of hers is "Worlds Within...". I know she was criticized there, but actually her character was supposed to be annoying at times and insensitive. It was a very realistic character, that had many faults like any real person and I think Kyo portrayed it so well. It's such a pity the drama aired in 2008 when the viewers weren't used to realistic dramas. And my third favorite drama of hers is "Full House", which is actually the first Korean drama I have ever watched (8 years ago).

I can't wait for her next project. Since DotS was so popular, I really hope she is offered enough projects so as to be able to be picky... But I wonder what she's been up to these days... She disappeared completely.B)

    Spoiler

It will soon be spring. Maybe, she'll pick a new project as soon as spring comes.

As much as i want shk to be adventurous In her roles i dont want her to take projects that she will do sex scenes or show her body i believe she can be a great actress w/o doing that.

I agree. Actually, doing those kinds of intimate/nude/sex scenes is the easiest way to gain recognition as an actress in a movie; and that (in my opinion) doesn't exactly prove one's acting skills, but it rather makes one lose a bit of her dignity. Awards are not that important after all (since art itself it's subjective, the ceremonies are subjective as well).

I think Kyo has an excellent talent in showing repressed, subtle emotions (and she is the only one in South Korea who can do that, because they all tend to have an exaggerated way of acting), which is why her movies should be implicit rather than explicit. And I love it that she doesn't follow the trend, and she has her own unique acting style; she also doesn't seem to choose a project by calculating the odds of winning awards. She's definitely an artist, a beauty and an acting icon.

That said, I'm so happy she won a Daesang for her natural performance in DOTS (though, KBS should have already given her one years ago, for her portrayal of Joo Joon Young in "Worlds Within..."; but still, better late than never).

Although I'm late, I wish Kyo and everyone here a Happy New Year! (I didn't know such a forum exists, and I was so glad when I discovered it several months ago.)
