This question always haunts me tbh. I remember surfing his instagram back in February and finding quite a number of pictures of really fancy sneakers, caps, also brandy (aka much expensive) skate boards; he liked taking artsy pics of glasses with pricey cognacs/spirits too. He also travelled to S. Korea a couple of years ago (which must have cost quite a deal too). Yes, his stress on not being "rich like GH" is logical - but he aint a simple village boy either.

@kmmyzz, thank you for the Weibo Tracking App tutorial, I've been meaning to get it but didn't really want to use the buggy one >< So, I've dled this seemingly safe app and decided to check JY's and ZZ's online time... is this correct that they both sort of disappeared some time after 4pm and still haven't shown up?

As a sort of addition to my above post, the whole birthday ordeal actually starts in Chapter 82, "Ticket to the Past". It is the sweetest thing ever written, with GH
becoming Superman againbasically recreating the whole 1st Volume scene in the very apartment they had shared 8 years ago in just 10 hours.SpoilerHe prepares the present together with BHQ, YM and one of LY's soldiers (the one GH tried to grill right in the hospital ward). BLY wakes up to everything being exactly as it was when they still went to high school, with his uniform prepared, and GH, also in uniform, telling him that he had bought breakfast. BLY just goes mental about the whole situation, because GH even found the dinosaur mobile phone he had used back in that time (2002, no). He tried calling his dad and YM and everyone continued to pester him about going to class. Poor BLY was more devasted than happy though, thinking about the hard military life he had endured during those years, and what if it was really all a dream, he couldn't believe it. While evil GH just sits there, stuffing his face with breakfast, acting all confused, we have BLY ripping the curtains to see the evidence of time travel in the street, and the disarrayed man gets surprised to see a huge building-tall writing "Happy Birthday" covered in roses, carried by a helicopter with YM and LY's soldier, with GH standing behind stunned BLY, laughing at him.
BLY beats up his *ss and then they make out, YM and soldier awkwardly flying away. Only then BLY feels truly touched, for he stopped celebrating his birthdays 8 years ago. Of course, leave it to GH to remember all BLY dates.
how does he not insist on celebrating the first time ly willingly let him touch his xiao yin weirdChapter 83, "Nicest Blessings", has the two serious adult males put on school uniforms and clamber up on a bicycle, because GH put his managerial skills to use (no one asked u) just to trick BLY, and had their clothes and cars taken away. So they had no other choice but go to BHQ's house by bycicle. lol When they put on uniforms, BLY commented that he felt stupid, trying to seem like a kid, to which confident GH replied, "I'm still young, I look the same as I did 8 years ago", and BLY laughed and told him to stfu, because his skin wasnt that nice anymore, and GH, "..."
Reading the scene from Chapter 82 was really touching though, for obvious reasons. ;A; Imagining them do it in the drama with JY wearing OBEY hoodie instead of uniform tho, because, reasons. ;A; all the missed opportunities. In my defense for writing these summaries, I checked the first page for the Volume 2 posts, and didn't find these chapters mentioned, but they're so sweet >< so, I thought, why not...
But the confirmation of the actual timing is in Chapter 84.

BLY's actual birthday is in the end of June, according to Volume 2, chapter 84:
SpoilerThere is a scene where YQ sends BLY tickets to the premier of a movie he starred in, called "Overdue Love Letter". YQ called BLY to tell him that he simply must come to the premier because he has a present for him. The present turns out to be his confession about feelings he had harbored for LY back in high school.
It's actually a pretty hilarious chapter, because GH senses that something is fishy about the whole present thing, and keeps possessively groping LY during Q&A session with actors. LY is, of course, scandalized and all. Then YQ gets asked if he's ever faced a situation with delivering a love letter late, and so he starts reminiscing about all the little moments he had with LY: the toilet paper (not actually presented by LY lol), his New Years present for LY, them sleeping in one bed when LY came to visit his hometown (when GH was away in US), etc. In the mean time, jealous GH is busy crushing LY's balls and LY crouching in his seat, sweating in pain, telling him that YQ isn't talking about him (which is bullsht). In the end, oblivious YQ happily congratulates LY on his birthday (without any names ofc, because he's an idol) and GH goes berserk as in "he is talking about you after all, why u lyin", LY's testicles on fire. GH's unsightly commentary during the movie was very entertaining too btw.
absolutely loved YM's attitude during the movie and him basically destroying YQ's career after when he noticed LY who was desperately trying not to be noticed by YM, and called him out in front of everyone, "hey, he meant you, bro, he was in love with you", thanks, YM, you're one true friend.
so, birthday is in the end of June.
About the 1st uncut part, shared during the day,

I'd say that Gu Weiting's finding out doesn't happen exactly towards the end though. There are so many things happening after that moment, but I somehow doubt the 17th episode will have enough time to have them reconcile after GH went Alpha on LY, then have GW see them kissing, and then put GH in the tunnel for 5 days while LY seeks out Gu Yang for help

Those 3 more episodes are supposed to cover the story after the appearance of SH, Gu Weiting's finding out about them sons f**king and boys eloping to Shanghai. We have seen the eloping footage in the "Walk Slowly" MV, we have heard the possible audio version of the full 16th episode
(might have seen the rape rehearsed in the BTS whatever those grope session actually were). So, we have 16th and 18th episodes pretty much lined out. Plus, I remember reading back in February, right after the ban, that the show was supposed to contain 18 series with each episode - 45 minutes long, but I am not sure how true that information was (my heart still holds onto it dearly)...Unless my whole life has been a lie and those rehearsals and eloping footage only happened in my head.

So, as far as the Taiwanese fans know, the iQiyi will be releasing only 15 uncut episodes of Shangyin on their channel. I've seen screenshots of fan conversations discussing if the DVD is confirmed to only contain 15 episodes too, but nothing is clear yet.
wh...what about the 16-18 episodes we have been teased and poked with for eternity? what about all the footage, rehearsed, possibly filmed, never shown to the mortals? it can't be all going down the drain, right...

yuan ru has her eyes on our bottom, a police officer named xia yao. xia yao is very handsome, but due to some "personal trauma" he refuses all his admirers and also ended up a virgin at the age of 24 lol. yuan ru enlists the help of big bro to help her woo xia yao. for her sake, yuan zong ends up following/pestering xia yao for so long that he too fell for xia yao along the way. yuan zong waited until his sister gave up on xia yao and immediately confessed to him afterwards. bc of our top's persistence and endless patience, xia yao eventually caves for the first time in his life.
there are 2 side couples in the story involving xia yao's bffs. i find their relationships kinda silly so i most scroll through lol.
the emotional aspect of irresitible's cp not nearly as well developed as gh/bly. but they are more, um, sexual. i find myself breaking a sweat at how vulgar some of the scenes get, gh/bly are rather tame compared to them lol. its kind of a fun porny story and i dont think its drama material (then again, i didnt think counterattack was either...).
and i doubt cjd is going to produce anything else bl anytime soon. this addicted fiasco was probably a too much for that tiny studio and might scare away future potential actors cjd cast too.

It technically can be a recording from the audio book, but then this certain recording skips quite a lot of details/dialogues that actually happen in the book in few chapters of SH saga, so seems a little weird in that case... *gets self's hopes up

That's... how I constructed it in my head eh

SpoilerI've never followed them very closely as characters since even the book sorta skips them 90% of time, but getting frustrated on behalf of Feng Song and WenWen. They didn't even get a decent amount of scenes together unlike JY and ZZ who got so popular they aint even allowed to stand near each other in case "rainbow sparks" start flying. Whatever's gonna happen to their acting path, wishing all the best for them :3

Just sprinkling the thread with a bit of positive mood, but this off. message (seemingly a tad emotional too) feels timely? I think it's quite a wise move on CJD's part to release it now, with the situation going on to extreme levels (boys cant even stand together woah). It's an emotional message to the fans AND officials, like, okay, okay, no season 2, I understand and it makes me cry. Now, when the storm is raging, it's wise to calm the SAFRT (or... SARFT..) by cancelling the show.
At the same time, what can prevent CJD's team from trying to pull through with Addicted 2 again later in the year/next year? it's not like her message on an official weibo account is written down as a law. Seems like Addicted could bring so much money to each party involved (producers and teams) if correctly promoted, seems rather wasteful to drop it forever eh
SpoilerYo in an evil dreamland tho if all four boys get banned from tv forever, I suggest the whole party packs up the bags and leaves for taiwan to film second season to release it there - at least, they might get some money out of this whole charade lol
