Hey! New Yang Se-jong fan here!
Finding him is probably my favorite thing about this month. He's just amazing. I actually first watched him in Temperature of Love, but I gave up on that drama by the second episode since I could sense its eventual doom. But a couple of months later, I had this desire to watch Duel, even though I'm not a thriller fan. While the drama was good, he totally blew me away with his performances. Also, he's super hot so there's that. I can't believe it's only his second year of acting. He has such confidence and charisma on screen, it feels like he's been there for years!
From what I can gather he's currently on an acting break? But I think good for him. It's best to choose dramas wisely instead of choosing it as they come. I hope he will come back with a great project though, and we'll ogle at him together. *sigh*

I'm so happy I decided to come back to this page because Jo Seung-woo got a lot of new fans from Secret Forest! It's one of his best projects in recent years, if not ever. I don't know if he would consider his years post-military a slump, but I wasn't fond of any of the projects since then. Until Secret Forest, which blew my mind in general but I was just so happy to see him on a project I can love. I hope his new movie will do well. I always love seeing him in sageuk (please watch The Sword with No Name. He was super hot in it).
Also, it amuses me that other people are calling him ajusshi too! I started calling him this before he was qualified to be one (around the time of his enlistment maybe?). But now that he's approaching his 40s (!), I can call him that without feeling bad. He will be forever my favorite ajusshi.

Hi everyone! I recently made a first impression post of the drama on my blog. I hope you can check it out!
First Take: Descendants of the Sun
Possibly one of the most highly anticipated dramas of the year, Descendants of the Sun came in with a slow burn. The premiere week of the show only teases what potential intensity will come in the future. I wasn't overly excited about it, but it has yet to disappoint me, which is a good enough start. If anything, I'm mostly excited that Song Joong-ki is back on screen again, and with him he brings a herd of beautifully muscular half naked men and that is always good in my book.- 10

It's a sad day... Jo Seung-woo won't be accepting tvN Pied Piper The role will go to the also amazing Shin Ha-kyun. I think we'll have to wait longer for him to come back on the small screens.

I decided to visit the forum after a long while and was surprised that Yoo Ah-in didn't have a significant page growth since I last came here (which was back in 2010!), especially now that's he's way more popular, at least in Korea. Also, the forum activities aren't what they used to be I'm kind of saddened by that. It's now mostly posts of pictures and news bits and not discussions like before. Ah well, I don't know why I'm writing this.
Anyways, congratulations to Mr. Yoo who won the freaking Best Actor awards! Kind of cool that his on-screen daddy and acting legend Song Kang-ho gave the award. Song must've been proud.

Inside Men is at 4 million already? That's pretty amazing. I'm so happy for the cast! And here's to hoping he takes on that cable drama. We desperately need him back on TV!

I think I found my people! I love this man a lot, probably one of my favorite actors. A bit sad that he doesn't have too many fans

Btw, just curious of everyone's opinion. Now that SKKS is over, what type of character/role do you wish for Ah In to take on and in what medium (big or small screen)?
Ugh this one's a toughie. First of all, I'd like it if it was a movie. Movies tend to facilitate an actor's acting ability and bring out its fullest. Maybe it's because movies tend to be more complex than dramas. Not all actors can be movie actors and that's why when you get leads in a movie, you've made it. I also tend to have short attentiveness for dramas because many, many dramas have great beginnings but then drags in the end. A couple of examples are Coffee House and Cinderella's Sister. Sungkyunkwan is a rare few, and Mr. Yoo should be glad the writers are really well this time. The stories are quick paced and always entertaining. For movies, though, you only have 1-3 hours to tell a story. It's easier on the actor, because he knows how the story will end from the beginning and such, and also the viewer.
About the type of character he might play, now I have no idea. Maybe something that requires him to show superb acting chops. There's this movie I know, 3-Jib (I forgot the English title), and stars Jaehee. That movie is so eerie but very interesting at most. It's almost a silent movie and if an actor could to this, he has proven his acting greatness. Sadly not that many scripts are like this. But if I were to pick a role, maybe a political one? I hate politics but I do know making a movie about politic angst needs awesome acting. And he needs to gain some pounds anyways and characters in political films tend to be... um, firm. It'd be also nice if he one day played an adult role, not that he hasn't done one. But all his roles are about youth, youth, youth! At his age of 25, I would consider that person to be more of an adult, no? But I doubt he'll want to stop acting the bittersweet youth just yet. Maybe he should play a psycho. That'll be fun. But then I'll be freaked out. Okay, never mind.
Ah I know! A sports movie! It's filled with youth, a pretty challenging act (a lot of sports films do fail if they were handled wrong) and it will fulfill my wish that he should gain more weight. Antique doesn't count. He acted as a boxer but it's not a sports movie. Hm... whatever. I could go on and on but in the end, it's him who chooses. Of course.
Yay that's all! I'm sorry if a lot of my writing is a bit everywhere. I'm super tired right now but I just need to do this ;D Cheers, everbodeh!

Hello everyone,it's my first time posting here.
Yes,he is in Thailand now and I have met him at the hotel in this evening, too. He's so nice and friendly.
ugh you're so lucky! Ahh you better tell us what happened! Even if it's not important, I was a bit like overwhelmed when he traveled the worlds. Ooh, lucky you. If you'd mind, you could do the whole fan account thing. That's not important but it'd be so much fun if Mr. Yoo has a fan account of him, in English too!

Yoo Ah-in will be in Esquire next month! OMG I'm so excited! Here's the proof
The lady next to him, and to whom the tweet belongs to, is famed Korean photographer, Jo Seonhee! She has photographed quite a few other Korean stars. One I know is 2PM who she also interviewed in Korean cable channel, O-live.
A bonus. Thanks to Jang Yoonhee whose hompy I found this from. Ah... I suppose she's someone in acquaintance to Mr. Yoo. Not so sure, but whoever she is I'm thankful! So I found where this originally came from! It's from Fashion Director of Esquire magazine, Shim Junghee's twitter (@aliceinstyle). Through this, I have ultimately found myself gaining powers of that like a netizen. Sigh. Mr. Yoo looks ultimately adorable in that pic. It seems like it was taken the same day as his outfit and styling is the same.
Where in the world is this boy? I keep seeing 태국, 태국, 태국 (Thailand, Thailand, Thailand) in his twitter but poor me, I have no idea. Is he in Thailand now? I guess we have to wait. Or may our K-translator help me out here? From the background of his pic, he's definitely not in Korea. Ooh... Mr. Yoo has gone global!
I'm so friggin happy. I keep on re-editing my post to check on the missed grammar because of all the excitement. Gosh. Well, it seems like Yoo Ah-in post Moon Jaeshin will be a busy boy after all.

I will be around still... will you (as in all of you) be?
Don't worry. I was here when no one knew of him and I'll stay on board for a long time still. You know I can't just leave because he's not popular anymore. That just ain't fair. But I figured with Sungkyunkwan Scandal in his resume, we'll still see him again for a long time. Unless he decided to quit. Oh no... I hope that won't happen. He's too good of an actor.

yay for more people! So awesome, now the thread is moving so quickly. Ah, the power of Gulruh-arhi.
Aaaaaaannnndddd thanks a million to jaeshinah! I feel like crying reading a translated interviews of him. I bet it was a load of trouble for you. But thank you! I'll send you cyber kisses :*
I too agree with Rxgoodleaf about his fashion choices. I've been lingering in this thread long enough to acknowledge his rather questionable fashion choices. I remember the non-traditional tux he wore to PIFF 2009. It was awesome! And he looked different than all the others. It's not as weird as the leather halter top or anything but it looked unique and nice. While talking about the leather halter top, I wonder if he has anything else under that. Wouldn't it be cold?
Yay for the new buddies at Yoo Ah-in thread! Yay yay yay!

I don't understand give it to my Y
Is it supposed to mean give me why you did it or something like that?
Kara's Pretty Girl is just a nightmare. Cute song, horrible grammar.

thank you for the interview translation! The answers he gave was expected of him

While someone was talking about "The Man Who Can't Get Married", I also thought maybe Hyungyoo has a love story with Kiran-sshi but maybe the writers omitted it? I was so ready to see a loveline between them, because it seems that Hyungyoo himself has a thing for Kiran-sshi (like her candid photos on his camera). I loved Yoo Ah-in in that. His character is so lovable and cute and aside of his usual gloomy, desperate choice of characters.
Oh no! SKKS is about to end! I think I'm going to cry. But don't worry, I've watched each of Yoo Ah-in's projects like at least 3 times. I mean, he's that addictive. We all know what will happen but oh well, I'll be staying for Ah-in. His character, Moon Jaeshin, really allows him to show his broad acting skills in one character! I've also never seen him in a proper love story (even though I'm not a big fan of love stories) so SKKS is very exciting. And different! And so much fun. Have I ever told you how much I adore (and love) everything, absolutely EVERYTHING about SKKS? They are that good. Probably one of the few dramas where I will always eagerly wait for the next episode.
I love how this thread has so many members! I wasn't the first few people on this but there was a time where only a few of us were on this thread, when he was in hiatus. I'm very glad many people can see just how awesome he is.
One more thing before I close my comment. A few of you have said that Ah-in is a deep person and yes sirree! I don't understand his literature works but for sure they are hard. Even Korean speakers might not understand. Again, I can't help but find similarities with him and Cho Seung-woo. I might be a bit forceful but I truly am a fan of both and see both of them as one of the strongest actors of their generations. Like how they're not carried away by fame, that's pretty important. These two also shared a few similar costars, notably Kim Hye-soo. With Cho, Kim portrayed her usual femme fatale-ness. But with Yoo, Kim showed her wacky side which is very refreshing. I love Kim Hye-soo all the better. She is one awesome actress so it doesn't matter.
Ah! I took too long, again. But thank you to all who have shared photos of Ah-in! I'm very happy. I don't have the integrity to spend time looking for photos so... I'm thankful to those who are willing.

I will be forever a fan of Yoo Ah-in. He has been one of the few actors I've seen that are actually "actors", always giving 110% in all his roles. I've been watching all the works of his that I can get my hands on and I gotta say I'm never disappointed. I somewhat compare him to my other favorite actor, Cho Seung-woo. They don't really have much in common except for being amazing actors, and also actors who don't rely on fame and a pretty face (though that doesn't hurt ;D) to have amazing resumes. They both also put much effort into every role. I don't really recall anyone who hates exercising but gets to the gym, or have small hands but learns the art of playcards (or whatever you call it) just for a role, especially in Korea when they still rely on pretty faces. I just really respect them for their effort. I really think Yoo Ah-in will go on as one of the greatest actors in Korea. Go go (great) actors of Korea!

Jo Seung-woo will return in a jTBC medical drama called 'Life' co-starring Lee Dong-wook and reuniting with Secret Forest writer Lee Soo-yeon!
He will be playing the director of a hospital while Lee Dong-wook will be a doctor. Similar to Secret Forest, 'Life' will be dealing with power struggles in a hospital setting and not so much of the surgeries, which is typical of medical dramas. The director has yet to be decided, but I hope they will have a great one. No info on when it will air.
So happy he's taking on another role shortly after Shi-mok! Also really looking forward to writer Lee Soo-yeon's next work. Considering that Secret Forest is her debut project, I have a lot of anticipation for what brilliance she will bring next!
