I used to listen to HK songs in the early 90s when it was getting pretty popular which was known as the chinese melody days.  Arron Kwok and jacky cheung were singers I used to listen to constantly back then

I got a bit nostalgic so I dug through my house 2 days ago and found a VHS cassette containing music videos by PolyGram artists from '93 (that I haven't watched in a very long time).  It brought back so many memories.  My family used to have a shortwave radio that we'd use to listen to HK pop, since NY didn't have a decent public Chinese music broadcast station.

Leon Lai was my favorite artist when I was a kid.  I can tell now that he isn't a very good singer, but john tesh that.  His songs follow this unknown formula that makes them awesome anyway, and I love them regardless.

God, I love old-school HK pop so dearly.  I hope what they play on AM 1480 isn't a representation of what they listen to in HK now.

I listen to the old school stuff from PolyGram artists like Vivian Chow, Leon Lai, Grasshoppers, Jacky Cheung, Teresa Teng, Shirley Kwan, Alan Tam, etc. I also listen to Anita Mui, Faye Wong, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Sandy Lam, Leslie Cheung, and some.

The new group Charcoal seems like good dancers, but not sure about their songs.

Benji and Lesley are really talented though, anyone know when their first album comes out?

Not sure if you know about their EP, but here's the YesAsia link if you're interested:

But it looks like there should be a new album soon cos they posted a new song on their YouTube channel =)
