woah, can't list all the indie artists and bands I like because it's the kind of music I mainly listen to.

can anyone recommended me recent (or rather new) good raw & dirty garage rock/punk bands?

lately i've been trying to listen to too much indie music which is way too experimental, hard to get into or plain strange and was actually supposed to be folk or psychedelic or not if you know what i'm talking about.

lol i listen to the bands listed above too..... but most them are like more towards rock. So I always considered it more of a rock genre...

but when I think indie i guess i think folk sooo that being said iron and wine, yael naim, lenka, dcfc, pricilla ahn, radiohead,  ingrid michaelson, modest mouse, snow patrol, regina spektor.... idk there are a lot of good bands and singers

Phoenix

MGMT

Modest Mouse

The Killers (not sure if they're indie anymore but I really liked their first album when they were) edit: it seems that only the UK version of their debut album was under an indie label and on my ipod I have the UK version :phew:  credits: orangeman (see next page)

Fun

Jason Mraz (well he's indie not a band)

Kerli (in wikipedia she's listed under indie pop artist)

The Killers have been under Island and Vertigo since the beginning and both of those labels are all under the control of the Big 4. Their first album was released under one independent label in the UK (out of three) but beyond that, they are part of the system.

Indie has spawned a certain (overused) sound that I do not care for.
