Knossos Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 good car?I have a question about "2003 Lexus Es 300 4d" my parents just bought this car ... it only had about 50,000 miles on it but when it goes on freeway the car is pretty loud and we suspect it could be the engine. Would accident cause the car to be noisy like that? If we do get car history from the VIN number would we be able to see if it's been on accident or not? What do you guys think about 2003 Lexus ??? we are wondering if this problem is for this particular car or the model itself...
Guest aznfishyfart Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 i have no input about sound and stuff, but just to let u know carfax doesn't always show accidents event hough it has been in one (just an fyi)
Guest erure Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 My stepdad drives the ES330 and it's a really nice car. If there's a problem with your car I suspect it's just the car itself not the entire model.

As long as the previous owner never went through the insurance for the accident, it will not show up on the vin check. Also why didn't you guys check out the car before the purchase?
Guest kelvin6 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Loud noises could be from noisy valves (loud tick tick noises) all the way to some damaged or missing sound proofing. It probably is the sound proofing panels which would be odd why its missing or damaged. Another possbility is that the previous owner could've modified the car? Some intakes and exhaust modifications can make the engine sound louder and more agressive. This is probably something minor I suspect... it could help if you describe the noise it could help (also if the noise comes when your gassing it or not).
