Working Abroad

Well, I have a plan to move to the Philippines when I graduate and get a job there as a Civil and Environmental Engineer. However, not sure how the pay is there for "US Graduates" compared to "Philippine Graduates" heh.

Anyone have an idea on how much engineers get paid there? Have you heard of anyone or is it possible for someone to work in the US but live in the Philippines as a work abroad type thing?

I was looking into moving there because the cost of living is cheaper and I want all my relatives/cousins to live with us. I was looking into getting a huge property there =p.

Hmm... One word of advice: Don't expect the salaries of engineers over here to be as big as the salaries of engineers in the US. ^^;; My dad was an electrical engineer and he was planning to apply to jobs here, specifically at Meralco. They told him they wouldn't be able to give him the salary he earned at his job in the US (I forgot the name of the power plant, but it was in Massachusetts). He was earning around $70,000 per annum at the time. :x

I'm not sure if it's possible to work in the US but live in the Philippines as a work abroad thing...
