Minooooooz!!!!  It has been long since we got LMH's back hugs in his dramas. In TKEM, we had so many emotional and meaningful regular front hugs  though. His back hugs are always so heart fluttering. I want at least 1 back hug scene in his next project  Agree??

Two type of movies that I am interested in currently is bank robbery or gangster film? With both movies having possibly big cast and big budget like $40-$50-mio and if it can go slightly higher even better both Netflix Origin films.

 

For the Gangster movie I would prefer Yoo Ha to helm that one due to many reasons that I will mention below and as for the cast the person I could cast after LMH would be Ma Dong-Seok and to be fairly honest he has done some good to decent gangster movies in the past but felt like his latest one (The cop and the gangster) was seriously underwhelming and it was not due to him but it was due to the actor cast opposite him because MDS performances in such movies are always top-notch but he was casted opposite a weak actor imo or necessarily someone who is not good for that specific genre because I think he can do some other roles which I have seen him in but this type of genre was just not for him and even if you casted a strong leading man like LMH it couldn't be saved because plot was very thin, weak and very forgetful movie in general.

 

Which is why Yoo Ha' or some of the other genre specialists are good at making such movies because they provide rich plotlines not weak or thin once but strong plotlines which is key.

 

For the Bank robbery I would cast Kim Bum, JJH(She is a great fighter), WDH(but unfortunately he enlisted) but instead of him I would cast Uhm Tae-Goo strangely enough this guy is one of my favourite his crazy and I like it and hack I would prefer to cast him in both movies his a mood. The Bank robbery has to be with another director not Yoo Ha but someone else.

True, LMH project will always create buzz and can't be low budget since his pay alone is quite high. I guess my intention of him taking low key project means from good writer but not star writer or ratings queens like KES and PJE. Both writers have done amazing to LMH's career, and i enjoy both dramas quite a lot! however, Both writer are mainly hit writers that don't develop character properly. They write interesting character, but they failed to fleshed out the character they wrote to begin with. For example, Kim Tan and Lee Gon has so much potential to be fleshed out more and have amazing journey as character, but again both drama tackles on many character and plots, and it definitely lost time to truly fleshed out the main leads. KES did really well to fleshed out the ML lead character in Mr. Sunshine but it was TVN drama and 24 episodes!!!!! 

 

I guess, what i want is LMH to pick a script that focus on the journey of the main character, and that kinda script may came from an acclaimed writer that doesn't have any ratings track record like PJE and KES. obviously there will be supporting character, but we all saw what happen with LG. LMH did so amazing with what's given to him, but they don't have enough time to make the viewer attached to Lee Gon and his pain.

 

Despite the TKEM flaws we saw how the drama did tremendously internationally. LMh will gather the international viewer, but we need something South Korean people will respect and admire, but that doesn't have to be makjang or rom com. The funny thing, for people who claim LMH's took safe role or He can't act is that they haven't check out faith or Gangnam blues. two of his works that i feel like one of his best performance, and of course faith was the lowest ratings (until TKEM), as in, it's not the drama that people came to know LMH, which i know most of you here might watch faith first, but i'm talking about people like me and majority of us who found LMH through his hits BOF, Heirs, LOTBS and now TKEM, which ironically are written by two of the writers i mentioned above. So those 3 dramas while they are good and he delivered amazing performance, it didn't have a lot of substance like say, Jong Dae or Choi Young. I struggle to enjoy faith as drama due to being outdated and saeguk background, however Choi Young really got to me, many of you who loves choi young is because the Impact that character had in you, and that's because despite the plot heavy and the drama also explore many characters, it didn't lost focus in developing and fleshing out choi young and his journey as general, between his loyalty to his king and his love to Imja. And guys i'm only on episode 9 btw and he already had impact on me.

That's just a few example what made into critically acclaimed drama. And none of those list are hallyu material, but in my opinion, if you have LMH name on a project it will generally become Hallyu

LG is a mature role too and you can tell despite the 2 year gaps, he has not lost his touch with acting, in fact he is gotten better. I too would like to see LMH play character who wears jeans and plaid shirt and converse. he could be detective who went undercover and that's his outfit.

After all these discussions regarding LMH's next character, genre, analysis of his previous works, I have become even more curious now as to what his next step will be. I am so looking forward to what he will be choosing.

 

It is like we have been talking together sitting in circle and now we are ready to see our King's next step.  

 

Do you think LMH and MYM do analysis like we do here? Like what is the best next step, what character he should explore, who he should collaborate with? 

or maybe he is freeing his mind from everything related to work and just relax  , which he honestly deserves.

I don't see how mental health is taboo or have any significance as topic in itself there are so many mental health dramas and movies allover the place and probably a common thing that occurs both in Tv and real life regularly. 

 

Mr. Sunshine would have been a snoozefest and probably would have experienced a fan backlash which is worse then anything you can imagine. It has to have some sort of entertainment value in order to grip people otherwise it will become a cult following where one specific adult audience will tune in to appreciate it and thats probably not what you would want in this time because it would be natural to seek younger audience.

 

You may have liked it personally but you have to consider the bigger picture and view audience as whole before making such decisions? current audience are probably mostly dominated by the age range 13-30ish and then you can add 40-80ish range age on top of that but majority was in the first category. If you give them a serious a$$ drama they wouldn't fall in line as you may have imagined previously and again you may enjoy it personally but that won't mean everyone is on board. 

 

So you must never look at a script subjectively but always objectively looking at the current trends and how the mainstream audience think and what they seek? 

 

What do they seek? Spectacles that is what they seek in truth and what is spectacles? It can be different things but to make it short it means exciting dramas where there is Romance, fantasy, action and interesting encounters and over the top incidents, magic, time travel, supernatural stuff etc etc. If you can also make it high paced but eatable it's also acceptable to them.

 

Most audience are younger generations in the 13-35ish especially on Netflix? Believe it or not they don't have time for a very serious slice of life drama.

 Currently Disney, Marvel, DC etc etc are making billions allover the world just spamming spectacles but you may not be into them personally but things are flowing that way currently

I've changed my mind on my LMH/MCU OTP.

 

Am currently shipping him with STAR WARS.  I saw that hot-flash inducing photo from the photo book of LMH swinging his sword while on Maximus and my mind's eye immediately turned the sword in a lightsaber and it would be so good.

 

We tend to get some pretty deep characterization and writing in SW (along with some truly abysmal stuff...you can't win it all).  I would love to see him tackle on a Kylo Ren-esque character.

I think Marvel tends to have a little more leeway on their characters, especially now that they’re so well established.
